i was looking at krags tv tropes page and found this:

the foil: to nebula. both of them are the less favored surrogate siblings of the original guardians, but while nebula is eager to betray thanos, kraglin stays loyal to yondu. nebula is cybernetically enhanced by thanos in an abusive way that pitted her and gamora against each other, while kraglin inherits a cybernetic enhancement as a sign of loyalty and respect from quill.

looking at that last gifset and it’s actually SO funny that yondu brought krag as his muscle (as opposed to someone like tullk) because in WHAT world is kraglin considered intimidating. that man is the literal definition of twiggy. he probably had to wear that big ass poncho because the broker would have taken one look at him and figured out he could just knock him over with a strong breeze.

I’ll admit it’s not one of my strongest works. To be honest, drawing fan art and this particular digital painting style isn’t as fun as it used to be, but I got tired of this sitting on my h/d, lmao. So I finished it regardless. :V

I can appreciate a man who's normal but I LOVE a man who's comparatively normal. A man who seems like a mess in a vacuum but as soon as you compare them to their friend circle you're like "oh. Oh wow. You're their idea of sensible."

listen. i know kraglin isn’t very high on the list of characters to add to rivals but that doesn’t stop me from thinking abt what his kit might be…… like his melee and primary attack? that’s just him shooting with his ravager pistol. ol’ reliable. he’s sticking to his roots. his left click would be to send the yaka arrow out as a blast with minor splash damage ( like a namor trident ) but his ult would be the arrow in full force. it’d function similar to psylocks ult and visually appear as the arrow flying around all crazy, piercing everything in it’s path like it does in the films.

i just think that’d be neat :)

funniest trope is found family but the family you found fucking sucks

i like the idea that kraglin is mostly xandarian but he definitely has a bit of krylorian and honestly who knows what else in him further down the line. hraxis-3 was a small mining planet that attracted a lot of refugees from other outposts that’ve been annihilated by the kree over the centuries simply because of its location on the edge of xandar space. as a result, it was something of a melting pot and most of the population was mixed in some way.

he knows that while xandar was probably pissed that the destruction of the outpost crippled their export business in that sector of space, they honestly didn’t give a shit about the people. because if ignoring the annihilation of a handful of outposts in the backwaters of space avoids another all out war with the kree, then they’ll continue looking the other way until peace talks are concluded. they don’t care for space mutts like him.

i love when kraglin is just casually a dick because there’s no real malice behind it, it’s just the way he is. he tells the sobbing woman to shut up when they’re hiding from adam. he calls cosmo a bad dog and refuses to take it back. he says adam’s name is stupid and tells him to pick something cooler. like yeah he’s considerably nicer than most of the ravagers we meet but that man was still raised by yondu and his clan of assholes. he’s blunt and indifferent and learned his social cues from petty thieves and war criminals. he’s a dick.

you know. there are so many good found family moments in vol3 but one thing i especially love is how much the people of knowhere genuinely seem to care for the guardians. during adam’s attack, that one guy who sounds on the verge of tears, pleading for adam to stop beating on nebula… that lady who runs to her later on when she’s realigning her limbs, calls her by name and tries to help her up even when nebs shakes her off. the way steemie and several others join in on the group hug at the end. it doesn’t just feel like they’re tolerated, they feel loved.
