you know. there are so many good found family moments in vol3 but one thing i especially love is how much the people of knowhere genuinely seem to care for the guardians. during adam’s attack, that one guy who sounds on the verge of tears, pleading for adam to stop beating on nebula… that lady who runs to her later on when she’s realigning her limbs, calls her by name and tries to help her up even when nebs shakes her off. the way steemie and several others join in on the group hug at the end. it doesn’t just feel like they’re tolerated, they feel loved.

What’s a movie or show that everyone loves that you don’t think thats good
Those are a lot of movies, lmao.
I remember when everyone was gushing about The Town and I was like, it's a typical bank robber movie, why is this getting lauded?
Honestly, kind of anything from Guillermo del Toro, which I know is blasphemy but every time I watch a movie of his I'm like, I expected to be way more moved than I was, the only movie that has stayed with me was Pan's Labyrinth but I remember everyone going OFF about Shape of Water and I was like .... I guess? I just feel like it's pretty.
I haven't spoken about this in years because it created this whole thing on my blog but I really fucking hate Frozen and I think Tangled was better.
I expected Brave to be much better.
Any Marvel movie that isn't Black Panther, Ragnarok and even though most of the cast is shitty the first GotG.
I didn't think American Hustle was that great and I was disappointed because I went in expecting to love it.
In the Jennifer Lawrence vein, I don't dislike Silver Linings Playbook, I just think it was way overhyped for something that was, at most, decent.
OK this one is different because unless you're racist, you don't love Birth of a Nation but I'm including it because I'm tired of film school/cinema programs including it in the syllabus. I had to watch that movie at least once a year in undergrad because every film class played it.
I found Inglorious Basterds to be pretty forgettable tbh and while I actually do like Christoph Waltz's performance and his other performances, I think Hans Landa is an overrated villain.
The Harry Potter movies are like, it's not that I don't love them because I have so much childhood nostalgia wrapped up in them and me and my friends were kind of a mess about the last movie coming out because it meant the end of something for us, but after I would say the third movie, they're not good movies and I feel like we should be honest about that. There was a slight return to form in Part 1 of the Deathly Hallows although people got bored with the camping sequences but yeah.
I didn't see La La Land but I just know in my bones that if I ever did see it I would just be like, oh.
I haven't watched much Hitchcock but I feel like I'm just not a fan based on what I have seen i.e. North by Northwest, I wanted to riot in my class. That stupid fucking plane.
I should rewatch Black Swan but I remember when I did watch it I was like THIS is what everyone is freaking out over? Anyway.
I concede that Mad Max Fury Road is a visual spectacle but that's all it is so everyone freaking out about it had me like, it just does some cool things here and there, why is this an AMAZING movie?
Avatar is just a horrible movie.
Crash is so extremely racist while pretending not to be racist and it was SO lauded.
I think Spencer was a pretty film but I think people overhyped Kristen's performance in it, so much work seemed to be trying to sound like Diana and it just became a breathy mess imo.
And finally, Encanto. I went back and forth with a lot of anons about this one, but the structure and narrative of this movie was a complete mess.
And just in case this becomes another Frozen incident, I'm just linking the back-and-forths I did with anons here so people can read them if they want:

I am freaking out over all the Marvel news out of Comic Con. You?
Honestly, when I first got this ask, I was going to answer “no” because I legitimately hadn’t heard anything from Marvel at all. All I knew was that we were in for a bunch of Disney+ shows like Loki, which I wasn’t interested in, and Falcon and Winter Soldier, which I am interested in but concerned about.
But then I did a quick Google, and saw that there’s plenty of other stuff to be excited about, so here’s a listicle-style breakdown of what I am and am not excited for, as was released in the press junkets regarding the SDCC Marvel Hall H panel.
1. Black Widow: Nope, not interested. Way, way back in 2012, I might have cared, given that Natasha was LITERALLY THE ONLY WOMAN in the MCU with any agency or hero role, but now that we have significantly more women, significantly more interesting women, and women of color (who arent played by white women stealing roles from actual WOC lmao), I think we don’t really... need a Black Widow movie. I mean, cool that David Harbour will be in it, but, uh... yeah, count me out of that one.
2. Falcon and Winter Soldier: Yeah, I’m excited for this one! Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan have a lot of fun chemistry, and I hope the series plays up the fun buddy-cop aspect of their relationship rather than “doom and gloom, Steve is gone, boohoo” stuff. They deserve to be heroes in their own rights and to not live in Steve’s shadow. Also, I’m not hugely into Bucky Barnes (I kinda find him boring, sorry) so I hope the series will, at least a little, start to endear me more to him. But I am very excited to see Sam getting more screentime!
3. Eternals: Eh, can’t really say. I don’t know enough about the original Eternals, nor do I have any information about who the new Eternals will be to weigh in. Ask me again when we’re closer to the release date.
4. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings: Honestly, some warning flags are popping up for me on this one. Much as I want more POC led MCU films (and just, fucking, like, any films in general), Marvel comics has a pernicious history surrounding Asian fetishism and mysticism. I’ve talked about it before with my hatred for Iron Fist, and the problems Marvel had during the big “Asian Craze” of the 60s and 70s, but I really do worry about re-adapting works based in and rooted in the comics made during those times. I don’t know enough about Shang-Chi’s origins to weigh in just yet, but I am on high-alert about how this could go wrong. Hopefully, though, with actual Asian and POC actors involved in the project, it will be done tastefully and respectfully. Hopefully.
5. WandaVision: Nah. I never liked either character to begin with so I’m not really gonna waste my brainspace on some TV show about a random white girl and her toaster boyfriend. I know that sounds mean but I have a lot of pent up anger about how the MCU depicted the Maximoffs, given that the Maximoffs were originally Jewish and survivors of the Hol*caust, but then somehow the MCU decided to make them not only white, but white people working with a literal N*zi organization. So I have beef with that, and I just... don’t care about Wanda or Vision. They haven’t been with us long enough for any of us to really, you know, see them have arcs or be meaningful people. They’re just kinda there. So no thanks. Maybe if the show turns out to be great, I’ll watch, but as it stands, I’m uninterested.
5. Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness: Eh. I never saw the original Doctor Strange because of the whitewashing issues and Benedict Cumberbatch’s, shall we say, history of anti-autism comments and classist perceptions about poor and undereducated people, so I just noped out of that. But I also didn’t like Stephen Strange from what I saw in the other MCU films I have seen him in, so I don’t feel like I’m missing much. If this movie turns out to be cool (apparently, it’s going to be the MCU’s first “scary” film, whatever that means?), I might see it, but for now it’s largely off my radar.
6. Loki: Nnnnnnnnnot especially excited. As I’ve said before, I like Ragnarok Loki, and that’s about it. 2012 Loki was, no joke, literally set up as a N*zi, and y’all know how I feel about N*zis. I’m not being hyperbolic. He is literally supposed to be equitable to a N*zi. So I’m disappointed that we’ve regressed all of his character development back in time to his worst stage, and we’re going to be seeing that play out in his show. Hopefully, the directors allow Tom Hiddleston to have more fun with Loki, because holy shit does Tom have great comedic timing, and I hope we get some redemption for Loki, because as it stands, I feel sad and hurt that they just threw away everything Loki grew into being. And if you’re one of those salty “Loki is a Classy, Intelligent, Sexy Villain, And Ragnarok Made Him DUMB, Give Us Back Our King” fans, please leave me alone. He was gross and greasy and weird and Ragnarok made him funny and likable, in me humble onion. Also, Loki is canonically not straight, not cisgender, and has been pregnant with horse babies, so, uh, let’s all just chill out and have some fun.
7.  What If...?: The What If...? comics can be really confusing and fun, alternatingly. So it’ll be interesting to see how this show manifests itself to match the wild, changing, freewheeling chaos of the What If...? storylines. Let’s see what happens!
8. Hawkeye: FUCK I AM SO MAD THAT THIS ISN’T AN ANIMATED SERIES BASED ON THE HAWKEYE COMICS THAT CAME OUT RECENTLY. FUCK. I would have loved that! But instead we’re getting Ronin Hawkeye (which sounds so dumb and also question-mark-y racist?). At least we’ll be getting Kate Bishop, I guess. C’est la vie. Not a fan of the Jeremy Renner Hawkeye, tbh, so I don’t know how this show will keep my interest, but fingers crossed.
9. Thor: Love and Thunder: BUCKLE UP BOYS I FINALLY HAVE A MOVIE TO CARE ABOUT YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW AMEN PRAISE GOD WE HAVE A GOOD MOVIE COMING YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FEMALE THOR AAAAAAAAAAAAA GAY RIGHTS YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tumblr media
FUCK! I AM SO HAPPY OH MY G O D!
10. Blade: YEE FUCKING HAW! Mahershala Ali has been in the MCU three times now (1st as Cottonmouth in Luke Cage, 2nd as Uncle Aaron in ITSV, and now as Blade!) and I’m both pleasantly surprised and a little confused, since the MCU very rarely reuses actors. Oh, well! I’m so happy to see him back and I hope Blade does him justice. I worry that the original Blade (comics and movie alike) were a little, uh, Blaxploitation-y, so I hope this update will be more thoughtful and more progressive in its depictions. But at the end of the day, this is one I’ll be watching.
11. Fantastic Four: I’m worried but hopeful. The last swings at making a Fantastic Four film have been, um, mixed to say the least. Fingers crossed for a diverse set of characters this time! Although I do think that David Harbour being in the Black Widow movie does rule him out of being The Thing, as was previously speculated. Well, anyway, here’s hoping it’s good.
12. Black Panther 2: SHIT BOI DO I DIE I AM READY YES YES YES YESSSSS
But please for the love of GOD bring back Ryan Coogler to direct. I don’t trust this story in the hands of, well, non-black people, especially because the story of Black Panther is so intrinsically tied to the black experience. That being said, I’m ready and excited for a return to Wakanda and to see what is next in T’Challa’s saga. Also, please, more Shuri, more Nakia, more Okoye. Honestly, Black Panther brought us some of the best women in the MCU so just... bring back all the ladies. Ramonda too!
13. Guardians of the Galaxy 3: I’m a little nervous about this one re: the issues surrounding the firing of James Gunn (which is, like, such a can of worms to get into), but fingers crossed. The GOTG films are really fun and such a great break from the rest of the dull, painfully self-absorbed MCU, so I hope that the light-hearted tone and center on found family comes back. I also hear that this one will be more female-centric (focusing on Gamora, I believe?) so that’s good to hear!
14. Captain Marvel 2: I didn’t see the first one, but, hey, my lesbian friends sure are happy to have Carol back so you’ve got my approval on that one, Marvel.
15. Mutants: DOES THIS MEAN...MCU X-MEN...I’M SCARED...SOMEONE HOLD ME
16. This one technically isn’t MCU but it’s what I’m most excited for...
THE SPIDERMAN 2099 COMICS ARE COMING BACK!
Tumblr media
I’M SO HAPPY I GET TO SEE MY BOY MIGGY AGAIN I AM SO SO SO SO HAPPY OH MY GOD I WAS SO SCARED THEY’D PERMANENTLY CANCELLED MIGGY BUT HE’S HOME I GET TO SEE HIM AGAIN I COULD JUST C R Y AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Tumblr media
anyway, that’s just what I’m excited for. Y’all tell me if I missed anything or if there’s other updates or news! Or tell me what you’re excited for-- I’d love to hear!

MEMECEPTION:
THE MIGHTY PRE-ENDGAME REWATCH CONTINUES
happy galentine’s day. we did this, like, a week ago for The Roommate ( @goteamwin ) ‘s birthday and i just took f o r e v e r to type it up sorry
in my defense, it’s hard to meme-efy a movie that’s already extremely meme-eful. Hence, memeception. although tbqh if Guardians of the Galaxy is giving me trouble because it’s already making fun of itself, I don’t know WHAT I’m going to do with Thor: Ragnarok. Remember when GotG was the memiest Marvel movie? We were so young.
It is important to me that y’all know that because of cacw, whenever The Roommate and I see any kind of... title page? whatever? We bellow the word at top volume even if the font ISN’T inexplicably filling the entire screen.
and so, I say to thee:
E A R T H ! ! ! 1 9 8 8 ! ! ! ! !
stealth reagan in the background to let you know it’s the 80s in case you were confused.
In What Sense is he like his father At All???
Honestly, to anyone who was surprised at Starlord’s actions in IW, they set up his tragic flaw right here. it’s page one. i don’t know why u were surprised.
B- grandfathering, but extra credit for difficult circumstances. u tried
Day Whatever, I Still Miss The Old Marvel Logo.
26 Y E A R S L A T E R
so, 2014 confirmed, for all the other timeline enthusiasts out there.
This is. The WEIRDEST gadget.
why is it like this
what is it doing
and how
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
I love this scene because up until this point it could be literally any other marvel movie and then
BOOM
it’s GotG, bitch. get ready to Have Some Fun.
also it pretty firmly establishes that Peter Quill is our protagonist, but he is No One’s Hero.
there are giant fucking eels here? what the fuck? what HAPPENED to this place???
stop trying to make star-lord happen, it’s never going to happen.
i have questions.
specifically about Ronan’s whole. everything.
Is he literally sleeping in the blood of his enemies?
is it necessary to have all these people help him get dressed?
what is up with this Immortan Joe Esque powder tossing business
what sorry sucker gets to put THAT on their Kree Resume
“Ronan’s Makeup Artist”
seriously
what is his fucking deal. how did he get the name “accuser” and will Captain Marvel give us these answers?
anyway, moving on.
POOTER!
people DO NOT call you star-lord
Gamora is a real #Icon in this whole scene.
SUPERHERO LANDING!
love that Rocket’s entire plan is to put criminals in a literal bag
and that it’s foiled because Groot doesn’t get gender.
also, John C Reilly has some of the best lines in this movie and I think he deserves more recognition for that.
“I am Groot.” “That’s gonna wear real thin real fast”
WEIRDLY NO??? srsly how did they prevent that from getting old fast?
Me: was it witchcraft?
The Roommate: No, it’s just Groot.
can we appreciate that Gamora is One Of Us? like. She’s into that.
if you don’t know what I’m talking about i am not going to explain it
Don’t Worry About It.
the moment we all went ho lee FUCK ANDY DWYER??? YOU GOT RIPPED MY DUDE YOU GOT FUCKING HUGE
oh no they gave me feelings about Rocket
the real hero of this movie is that prison lady and her telenovela
good job drax u found ur light
Rocket’s Bedhead is An Entire Mood.
how can Thanos take you seriously with all that shit on your face you look ridiculous.
“my favorite daughter” DUDE NEBULA IS R I G H T. T H E R E.
Rocket’s UGH face is also An Entire Mood
i love how the others are like. wanting to get out. but Drax just joins in for shits and giggles? like? he’s having a good time? wholesome.
“Oh. yeah.” Rocket is maybe explosion-sexual. which. ok yeah mood there as well.
I will never tire of the fact that the prison uniform prints their rap sheets on their legs and Quill’s is the shortest
like, it’s even shorter than Rocket’s. And let’s remember that Rocket is definitely less than 20 years old since he’s A Raccoon.
Rocket just casually putting bombs together just to have something to do with his hands.
Let’s pull this apart: No one is phased by the Jackson Pollack reference. They seem to know exactly what Quill is talking about.
Jackson Pollack is an alien. CONFIRMED.
oh hey it’s a dark elf
GROOT: CINNAMON ROLL, 2 GOOD FOR THIS WORLD 2 PÜR
“he killed my parents in front of me.” I mean. kkkkkkinda
The Gal Pal, who teaches English Language Learners: “Sticks up their butts” is actually a prime example of the ELL struggle and why English is hard to learn
Rocket one drink in is sad AND angry
oh yeah? how many friends do YOU have, petey boy?
We firmly believe that the Collector kept them waiting so he could do his hair. He truly is the Grandmaster’s brother.
oh hey it’s exposition time
wait is that the planet we were on earlier? is the power stone why it’s Like That? did they just leave the power stone there after it did that? it’s the reality stone all over again honestly what the fuck
whAT DO YOU STILL HAVE IT FORRR?????
seriously. “the accuser” is a hell of a name.
aw drax. don’t you hate when you realize that someone means more to you than you do to them.
it’s like bumper cars but there’s a winner!
spinal fluid is an extra gross way to drown
omg it’s the frog all over again SHE’S EVEN GREEN
Quill’s eyes here are red and that feels right but also I HATE IT
everyone thinks they’re Groot’s dad, when in fact Groot is everyone’s dad.
Tumblr media
This whole argument/discussion scene is Solid Gold
12% of a plan
IT’S REAL
Rocket understanding everything Groot says
basically Rocket tbh
“To Give A Shit”
The Roommate: I feel like this is when Quill becomes Quill instead of the superhero Andy Dwyer imagined.
wait did they say sakaaran???
freaking Glenn Close wth man
Random Extra #2056 has amazing hair and she knows it
Drax is having too much fun
Honestly I’m typing this up and in my notes it just says “And This Happened” and even I don’t know what I mean there
Honestly, they had to kill Yondu. He’s too powerful. Thanos wouldn’t have stood a chance
“Star-Lord” oh my god it’s happening.
the way peter slides around in this movie -- does he have ball bearings in his ass or what?
Groot’s Smile. TOO GOOD FOR THIS WORLD TOO PURE
“YOU STAND ACCUSED” OF? WHAT??
Bucky and Nebula would really get along. I hope they get to meet some day.
More Questions About Ronan “””THE ACCUSER??”””
did he spend the last few hours just like
“ugh he WAS familiar”
“where the FUCK do I know him from ugh ugh ugh”
“OH RIGHT! I DID KILL HIS FAMILY!”
“Their screams were pitiful”
“I should tell him that.”
WE! ARE! GROOT!
Did they not evacuate the city? wasn’t that a thing?
EYYYY THEY SAID THE NAME OF THE THING
oh buddy you need like. all the skin cream.
Gamora = Peter’s Mom?? REALLY? YOU JUST WENT AHEAD AND MADE THAT SUBTEXT... TEXT. ALRIGHT. YOU WENT THERE. OK.
So is Ronan... not mortal???
like, he says
Anyway.
How much time has passed between the battle and this end scene? coupla weeks? months? What are we thinking? I need to know for timeline reasons.

super spoiler-y, stream of conscious, Avengers: Endgame thoughts under the cut. like, Seriously. read at your own risk
watching Clint go from Happy Dad-Mode to Instant Panic TM...just oof
confession time: the last MCU movie I watched before this was Thor: Ragnarok, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the only Guardians I care about are Rocket and Nebula, whoops
Tony Stark is an Asshole, but tbh? I Get It
speaking of Tony, Morgan Stark = Rosa Diaz with a puppy meme
Morgan “I love you 3000″ me: *chuckles* I’m in danger
Nat loves her people so damn much and I am broken inside
also, catch me crying in the club over Clint and Nat for fucking eternity
Hulk Banner is kinda fucking weird, but I still love him
look, I know he murdered A Lot of people, but someone please give Barton a hug, he needs one
I reiterate, Natasha Romanov is everything and I too feel like throwing a bench across a moderately large lake
I know it’s intentional, but so much of Thor is just secondhand embarrassment/cringe, and I do not handle that well
TIME HEIST
“Someone peed my pants, and I don’t know if it was baby me or old me. Or just...me”
highlights of Time Heist: Steve punching himself out, “SO MANY STAIRS”, “that is America’s Ass”, “I’m...Howard...Potts...” “Howard Stark”, “ah, so he’s an idiot”, “I bet the raccoon didn’t have to climb a mountain”, THOR AND FRIGGA
I am literally going to cry forever over Clint and Nat on Vormir. “I think we both know who it has to be.” “I think we’re talking about different people.” *immediately start punching each other over who gets to jump off a cliff* “just let me go” “no” “it’s going to be okay” SOMEBODY GIVE CLINT BARTON A HUG STAT
I could spend an entire post ranting about how much they love each other, but I think I’ll just Scream
everyone is So Happy that this stupid fucking plan actually worked? and then. the sinking realization. that Nat isn’t there.
“did she have any family?” “yeah she did...us...” FUCK YOU STEVE ROGERS
everything is good and nice for about 27 seconds, and then it all goes to shit again, so pretty on brand tbh
I will say, having never seen GotG, I was pretty shocked at how quickly Gamora switched sides? like. that just seemed super fast?
also, I have recently adopted. meet my son, Scott Lang
FUCK YES STEVE ROGERS IS WORTHY
I also haven’t seen Doctor Strange, so it took me a few minutes to figure out just where those magic portals came from
look, I know that they are both super competent and badass, but I still want to take Peter and Shuri away from this battle and put them in daycare
this entire last half hour is just Cry Time
like, honestly, if I’m not crying over Clint and Nat, I’m crying over Steve and Peggy
Carol Danvers is a badass, and I need to see Captain Marvel, stat
look, Quail, if you have to say you’re in charge, you’re probably not in charge...
STEVE AND PEGGY GOT THEIR DANCE
I laughed, I cried, it moved me, Bob

talk about ya favorite marvel movies ya nerd.
BITCH! YES! LET’S! GO! I mean outside of MCU? Deadpool, love those movies. Also, the only Spiderman movie I have seen in theaters (or at least I think I saw it in theaters) was Spiderman 3, y’know, that one. I’ve only seen two Spiderman movies out of the six released in the last twenty years (live-action I mean. I’ve seen Spiderverse) and the other one is Homecoming. But let’s get into the meat of this.
So I had only seen like 3 MCU movies in full before this past like…week and a half (FIrst two Avengers movies and GOTG, I was on vol.2 for about two months tbh) and I’m actually making a checklist in my bullet journal so I can keep track of what I have seen. But character-wise and everything, the first Captain America movie has to be my favorite right now. The three cap movies are definitely up there on my favorites, Civil War above TWS (which I just found the latter to be weirdly paced and it wasn’t as focused ON The Winter Soldier as much as you think it would be for that being the movie’s subheader/subtitle idk. You could name it Captain America: And Now There’s Nazis Again! and you have to say it the way John Mulaney does)
In short, I’m a big fan of Captain America. I’ve had a shirt with his logo on it for years. I tried watching the first film several times but my attention span can really suck but I finally was able to get myself through it and my guys, my friends- I. Am. So. Bi.
But aside from me being really thirsty over Bucky and Peggy in CA:TFA (Looking back to ‘11 when the movie came out I always found Peggy super pretty in the trailers and was super focused on that??? Like oh you sweet summer child yes some of that is just loving the aesthetic of her but also you’re so not straight. W/e i was in middle school that shit didn’t matter then)  I just really love Cap’s origin story! Physically I’m actually just a tad shorter and like…10lbs heavier than Steve was pre-serum and like….can we talk about how tiny that is for a hot second? Especially for a guy in his twenties???? I’m a cis female and considered VERY tiny so for a cis guy that is just….so abnormally small.
Tumblr media
(I’VE ALWAYS LOVED THESE PHOTOS THEY MAKE ME CRACK UP)
OKAY I went off topic again but yeah, first Cap movie! It is definitely my favorite because of my already large bias for him but also I really love Steve Rogers as a character, who is borderline chaotic good in this film just from how far he’d go so he could fight for the greater good and what not. The “I don’t like bullies” line is really something that struck me, especially as someone who was bullied from like….2nd/3rd grade to the end of high school. I mean a lot of what is said between him and Stanley Tucci’s character whose name I can’t bother to look up rn the night before the experiment is just…a really good scene and Steve sticks by what he was told, to stay a good man. I guess part of it may be self-projection because I’m really stubborn but who knows.
I also like that the whole movie you’re learning as to why Steve ended up in the middle of nowhere in some crazy aircraft thing all cryogenically frozen and everything. This really is a lot of rambling but some of my favorite MCU scenes are in this film:
Peggy punching that one sexist asshole -
Peggy being far more than just the romantic interest and how she brings up the blatant sexism she’s had to face
any scene with Peggy really.
Steve rescuing Bucky from the Hydra experiment place thing is well-done and does some very minor foreshadowing as to what will happen to Bucky/ what has already happened to him (I mean…how the hell was he able to do that much physical strain when he was just rescued from the lab where he was being EXPERIMENTED ON. Also, it explains why he fucking survives that fall from the train)
“I’m from Fresno, Ace.” WHAT A FUCKING LINE THOUGH
Did Cap really not know what fondue was….?
I’m like halfway through the first Iron Man and like…I know Howard Stark is shitty especially as a dad but idk I just like his portrayal in this film (him being one of the few who recognized Peggy as an equal
Bucky being completely brushed off when he hits on Peggy “It’s like I’m invisible” but him also realizing that she was far more focused on steve like…idk bucky just could’ve been lowkey a fuckboi here but he’s doesn’t pull any of that shit
I’m just really bi for Peggy and Bucky ESPECIALLY in this movie
I mean I even fucking knew what was gonna happen to Bucky and I was still shocked
OKAY I have no clue how well this answers the question but it is really just me rambling off what comes to mind. Honestly, a big push of motivation to watch these movies, in particular, comes from an Adventure Zone fanfic I’ve been reading called All the Things You Prayed For by @anonymousalchemist and @marywhal  which honestly any Adventure Zone fan should read even if they’re not a Marvel fan because it’s just a super well-written story!
Alright, I think that’s it. Feel free to send in more asks if you enjoy these weird ramblings or are just curious! I’m super new to being like….into the mcu and marvel movies, so just having been bingeing a lot of them lately really makes me understand why people love them so much.

I FINALLY SAW CAPTAIN MARVEL AND I GOT EMOTIONAL WATCHING IT. Okay, calming down now. As a lot of you know, my expectations were low as the marketing was lackluster, I was nervous about certain choices that were made, etc., and even though I avoided any CM chatter, I heard murmurs of mixed reactions...so my expectations were pretty much on the floor when I went to see it. I just hoped it would be fun even if it was okay, but uh...I REALLY ENJOYED IT. It’s not perfect and when I was talking to Alanna, she said people said it reminded them of CA:TFA (it really does in certain ways and I get why they said it, but TFA, for all its cheese and its weaknesses, is one of my favorite MCU movies lol). BUT! I! LOVED! IT! I don’t care about the unevenness because all that fell to the wayside by the sheer, all-encompassing joy I felt watching it.
This is how I wanted to feel watching Wonder Woman because I adored Diana as a little girl and it didn’t happen although I kept quiet about my disappointment because I wanted people to go support it anyway as it was super important that it did well. THIS THOUGH. I wanted to punch my fist in the air so many times and laugh and hug and hang out with Carol. I JUST. GOD.
I’ve experienced unfettered happiness and fun before with Marvel—that’s how I felt with The Avengers and with Spider-man: Homecoming. But this? This was the first time I was a fan of someone from the comics before seeing a movie and seeing it come to life the way I so hoped she would. It was extremely special because of that particular element and I got emotional because of it which I didn’t expect. I really felt disconnected to Carol from what I saw in the trailers and was afraid the movie wouldn’t resonate because it would be very white feminist-y. It wasn’t. And that hero on the screen? THAT WAS MY GIRL CAROL. I’m kind of getting slightly misty-eyed writing this. But GOD, I waited years for this and it’s just overwhelming wth!
I’m going to do my usual bullet points. If you want to avoid spoilers, scroll past this long post:
I was turned off by the silliness of the trailers and Carol’s more serious moments came off as unconvincing in them, so I expected not to connect with her. I WAS WRONG. I GOT MY GIRL. I’M WEEPING! She’s emotional! She’s feisty and bullheaded. She can be serious and fueled by anger. She can be fun even when she’s a fierce warrior, but not to the point that it’s distracting! Her humor is very much her own and very much Carol. It’s not witty. It’s goofy. She clearly finds herself hilarious which I LOVED. SHE’S SO DORKY, SMILING AT HER OWN JOKES.
The movie stayed away from what could have been a cringeworthy white savior undercurrent by making Carol culpable in the suffering of the oppressed. I know the Skrulls are aliens and look like them unlike the other aliens we’ve seen who you can’t exactly forget are played by POC characters, but lbr that narrative is about refugees and...look at current events lmao. As a Kree warrior, even if she unknowingly participated in the Kree-Skrull war ignorant of the truth, she hurt a lot of innocent people. And that’s great! It’s not that she was this pure person swooping in to save the weak or whatever. This is something she had to grapple with once her memories came back and her eyes were opened and she knew she had to make amends.
It reminded me strongly of Tony in IM1 with Obie dealing under the table to terrorists and becoming a part of a corrupt machine without meaning to. It didn’t matter that that was the case; he still felt responsible and accountability became a huge part of his story.
This origin story reminded me of Cap’s, not because of the whole military aspect to it lol but because of how she’s “just human.” Carol never gives up and Steve doesn’t either. They get knocked down? They’ll shake it off and stand back up. I might’ve gotten a little emotional here too which I didn’t expect. Plus she wanted to prove to herself that she could do whatever the hell she set her heart on. The other parallel was the whole fighting for the government/military who end up not being so great and going rogue thing.
It made me sad because we won’t get the Steve-Tony-Carol friendship we so deserve, but lol while the credits were rolling, my sister was like “Yeah, Tony’s going to die” because she’s the obvious successor. Originally she said it was because of his powers when I asked why and then she agreed when I pointed out that it’s not just because of his powers, but in terms of personality and a whole slew of things that reminded me of him AND Steve (it’s like Peter in CA:CW and SM:H). She feels like the linchpin holding the MCU together like them too.
Like the fact that Carol was the reason for the Avengers’ existence! That was obvious, but that scene where Fury’s typing on the computer and he looks at that photo of her before changing the name of the initiative? HM....I WAS VERKLEMPT.
Also, I loved how they made her get her powers. It wasn’t an accident. No one sacrificed their life for her. She got her powers because of her own actions. She got her powers because she was being a HERO. SHE IS WHO SHE IS BECAUSE OF HERSELF. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!
Speaking of that, I was surprised by the Mar-Vell plot twist because we all thought that would be Jude Law and I expected Annette Bening to be someone else (who she sort of ended up being anyway) lol. I didn’t mind that they did that. Love that she was Carol’s mentor.
I loved the female relationships. CAROL AND MARIA’S SCENES. MARIA BELIEVING IN HER. MARIA TALKING ABOUT HOW HARD IT WAS FOR HER AS A SINGLE MOM AND A WOMAN IN THE AIR FORCE, BUT CAROL DIDN’T CARE ABOUT THAT. THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF THEIR LIFE TOGETHER...BINCH...I MAY HAVE BLINKED OUT A TEAR!!!!! Carol being cute with Monica! Monica urging her mom to be a hero while Maria wanted to watch out for her because she has Monica to think of now, not just herself. Monica being responsible for Carol’s Captain Marvel getup! Carol and Maria getting involved with Lawson because she was their ticket to proving themselves and moving up!
And yet the movie didn’t get too hammy and heavy-handed with feminism (I hate it when some people write stuff that way because I find it extremely sloppy and ineffective)! We didn’t have to have a female villain just because we had a female lead superhero. We didn’t have to have moments where Carol says preachy lines. That moment where she just raised her eyebrow at the motorcycle dude? Fantastic. She didn’t have to deal with that scumbag. That moment where Yon-Rogg tried to pull a typical Man Move TM by trying to make her prove herself to him (and trying to take ownership of her development and strength)? She didn’t have to be all cocky and say some quip or cheesy af line. She wasn’t even that angry because he’s not worth it. He’s an ant beneath her foot. He’s irrelevant. She just says it straight up that she doesn’t have to prove anything to him, and that was what made that so powerful for me. It resonated because she said it like it was the truth, plain and simple, and it WAS.
No romance shoved in not because Carol didn’t need no man as a Strong Woman but because there are more important things at stake and honestly, the romance was with her wife Maria her relationships with other humans and the Skrulls were the emotional crux. They’re an important part of who she is and of rediscovering her identity. God...like her relationship with Fury? So well done. It was the buddy cop movie that I so wanted. I loved their jokes and their mutual respect for each other. I love how they became so important to each other and we saw Fury deeply care about someone and showing that. One of my favorite scenes is the one where they’re washing dishes together.
They also didn’t shove Coulson in too much which I was afraid of. We got to see where Fury started off, a greener one but one who was as compelling because he was so human. We got to see Fury deeply caring about someone and so openly (this is the guy who said, “I'm just an old man who cares very much about you“ to Tony in AoU). It was nice seeing how the whole belief in superheroes thing truly started with the both of them (Coulson had his whole Cap thing, but I feel like this was the moment where he imagined having a hero like that in his own time was possible).
Uh let’s see. I love Goose. I don’t particularly care for animals in movies even though I know people obsess about them, but they didn’t overdo Goose’s part.
All the little callbacks to the comics! KSD showing up!
The period part of the period piece wasn’t overdone which I appreciated. Carol typing made me laugh, the slow download and AOL shoutout made me laugh, and damn, the fashion and music? I was over the moon. You didn’t have to go over the top to make us immersed in the 90s. Also, my heart sang when we got Carol on a bike on the open road in a leather jacket. The bliss I felt is indescribable tbh.
Ooh the special effects were good for the most part! Loved seeing her fly and loved seeing her gut ships and destroy missiles. It felt real. Space didn’t feel cheesy af to me which was a problem I had with GotG 1.
Speaking of flying and punching things, it was so viscerally satisfying to see her do that. One of the things that really did it for me was how she enjoyed her powers. It was exhilarating seeing her fly for the first time (similar to seeing Tony taking out the suit for a test flight in IM1). Her little laugh/whoop of excitement? That’s what it would be like to discover you can fly! That grin when she breaks free of the Kree dampening her powers and she can feel her powers at full force running through her? That’s what it would be like to be at 100% and have all that. I wanted to jump out of my seat and feel what she felt. It made her powers not feel very OTT-overpowered? Carol has....too many powers and is super strong to the point that she’s overpowered, but uh...idk I didn’t have a problem with it here, mainly because of this.
The post-credits scenes were good too like....WOW, HUH. I watched this in Dolby (my first Dolby experience!) and I GOT EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY THIRSTY OVER STEVE IN A BEARD AND OUT OF HIS SUIT AND A TIGHT WHITE SHIRT!!! I DON’T KNOW HOW I KEPT IT TOGETHER BECAUSE I ALMOST DIDN’T WHICH WOULD’VE BEEN EMBARRASSING. BUT PHEW!!!!!! STEVE? WHAT A *****!!! Thought the scene was nice too even though I wish Carol got better hair. I assume she flew and that’s why she looks so bedraggled, but uhfhghdaoifhas I hated her hair in this and want Carol to get the nice hair she deserves (preferably a short butch cut...thanks. C’mon, Brie wants it too). OH, ALMOST COMPLETELY FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IT BROKE MY HEART TO HEAR HER SAY, “YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHO I AM. I DON’T KNOW WHO I AM” AND TO NOT KNOW WHERE SHE BELONGS. SHE’S NOT KREE, BUT SHE’S NO LONGER FULLY HUMAN NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF HER POWERS BUT BECAUSE OF HER LIFE ON HALA AS WELL. I loved how we saw her journey to accepting that and who she is now and how that was all tied up nicely with her wearing her old leather jacket the Rambeaus kept for her and her new suit as she goes into space. What a great moment and a nice visual cue to a comics cover I really like of Carol wearing her jacket over her suit and staring up at the stars. I feel like trying to find her place and her identity are important to her so I loved that we got that here and we’ll hopefully see more of that.
There are a bunch of negatives here (a bunch of stuff about the Tesseract that go against canon, the Skrulls (makeup, personalities, nerfed powers and threat level imo, etc.), subpar writing and acting at moments, etc.), but I seriously don’t care at all because I enjoyed the ride. My happiness dwarfs every little thing I could have nitpicked. I don’t care!!! I had so much fun! I liked the movie a lot!

Infinity War Spoilers (I need to vent and word-vomit and I have SO MANY EMOTIONS)
Random thoughts and a ton of spoilers...

Who is/going to be permanently dead:
I’m actually only worried for the following characters: Heimdall, Loki and Vision. Gamora will quite clearly be one of the central figures to bring about Thanos’ demise since they’ve suggested pretty heavily that she’s trapped in the Soul Stone. Also, they can’t make a GotG 3 without her (and of course they’ll make a 3rd one). Plus it goes a long way to explain/lessen their use of the whole ‘kill a woman for all the man-pain’ trope, which would be kinda terrible if that really was the true plan (and I don’t think the Russos would stoop to quite that level). So yeah, Gamora will be fine.
Shuri might fix Vision, but like Jarvis and Groot whose successors are different people, I doubt Vision will be completely the same. Who knows, maybe Shuri did something to download his memories/personality? (One can only hope!)
Loki’s growth throughout the MCU has been huge and he’s now gone full circle: from hero to villain to anti-hero back to hero. He repaired his relationship with Thor, but he killed people in the past and so he has a lot to answer for, plus there’s no plot-driven need to bring him back, his death is good revenge-fuel for Thor (even though a 3rd fake death might be nice and in keeping with who Loki is - the trickster who always gets away - they did really hammer home in the movie that this was for real... doth Thor hammer it home a little too much, though? Mayhap. Or maybe I’m just being naïvely hopeful). Heimdall, as beloved as he is, is a secondary character. Unless they bring ALL of Asgard back - which would be nice, since Thor could kind of go there and rule a less colonial-like version of it for the rest of his days after they defeat Thanos (he’s obviously not going to stay on Earth since Hemsworth’s contract is up), but I don’t know. It would be kind of cruel to erase everything Waititi did in Ragnarok (or maybe that’s why he was able to have so much fun? Because he knew that IW was going to need a destroyed Asguard to work? So he had a lot of freedom to play?)
Those 4 were the only ones not ‘snap’ killed (aside from the Asgardians on the ship - and, yeah, they better not have killed off Valkeryie! I am hoping she’ll turn up in A4? Thanos only killed half of all the Asgardians so I’m thinking she took the survivors to get away when Thanos let them go, and that when they’re safe she’ll come back? Maybe even with Sif? (Doubtful, though)).
As a lot of other people have mentioned, Captain Marvel is in the 90s and there have been rumours of time travel. Those who were snap killed will certainly return so I’m not worried about any of those deaths... But I love Heimdall and Loki, and I’d feel bad for Wanda if Vision didn’t come back.
I hope they do bring them back.
I hope Valkyrie escaped with Korg and some of the others and is keeping them safe on some random planet. T_T
I’m also a little worried for Steve, Thor and Tony, although since they pulled a semi-‘gotcha’ with Tony looking like he was certainly going to die only to survive, and with all their mentions of a wedding and kids, I think they’re done with the ‘is Tony going to die’ drama and just have him retire. It’s been 3 Iron Mans, 2 Avengers and a Captain America of Pepper/Tony angst. CACW was the full break-up drama, and for the past 2 films, Pepper and Tony have been happy. They’re not going leave them in a bad place. It’s a superhero movie, and to paraphrase Deadpool, I doubt they’ll go DC-dark.
Hopefully they’ll let Steve retire too, but that tweet about Buckycap from the Russo brothers could go 3 ways (retired Steve leaves it to Bucky; dead Steve inspires Bucky to become Cap; or the Russos were faking it - they did lie to us via the trailers, they had fake scripts etc so it’s not impossible) so honestly, I don’t know. They might have to kill off Steve. I don’t want that. Let Steve rest. And it might just be plausible for him to do that after he meets Captain Marvel. She and the new generation of Avengers could give him enough peace of mind to let him retire.
I don’t think Thor’s going to die. They just spent this whole movie telling us that Thor continues to want to help people even when he has nothing left. Usually a character like that is axed in the end to ‘be with those he lost’ or some other trope-y nonsense (it’s not a plot ending I usually enjoy, as you can tell...) and I didn’t get that feeling here. I think, even if we don’t see Thor again in the MCU after A4, they’ll have him off-camera either ruling a remade Asgard/rebuilding a home for the remaining Asguardians, or traversing the nine realms, helping people.
By the way, he was, hands down, the best thing about this movie. They kept all the important parts of Ragnarok, I could see them, and they married it so, so, so well to his more serious side. He felt right. It felt like this was him at his fullest potential. The height of this long personal-growth story from Thor 1. I love that Pirate/Angel baby.
The Death reactions:
Everyone is commenting on how Tom Holland nailed his scene, and he did. He 100% totally did. I was weeping for that poor, scared child. It was like a stab to the heart. And for Tony, knowing there was nothing he could do but hold him... oh my gosh. It tore my heart to shreds. A+++ Tom Holland.
A lot of people said similar things about how well done Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s scene was. And it did get my feels going, but there were others that hit me just as hard, literally just as hard as the other two: Okoye seeing T’Challa disappear before her, and her cries for him to come back, just as we see Sam disappear, alone, no-one there with him (Rhodes arrives too late to see it happen) and Rocket has to watch, again, as a beloved Groot dies (... and oh jebus he doesn’t know yet that the ENTIRETY of the GotG gang are dead except for him). Okoye lives to serve Wakanda, she loves T’Challa (not romantically, of course), to her he is the embodiment of Wakanda. Her entire being is dedicated to protecting him, her friend, her king and he just... disappears in front of her. The horror in her eyes, the helplessness of her voice as she begs him to come back... I’m tearing up right now.
Don’t even get me started on Steve. Bucky was the first to go via snap death, and I do have a soft spot for him, so it hit me like a ton of bricks; Steve barely had time to register Vision’s second death and their overall failure before he loses the one thing he had left to tie him to his past - one of the few people he really loved (romantically or platonically, however you choose to interpret it, Bucky mattered). Steve Rogers has been through a lot. This sucked. It sucked so hard. All of these characters have lost so much, and Steve’s no exception. And we didn’t even get a BuckyNat moment (not that I’m mad about it, tbh. I’m glad they resolved the Brutasha thing nicely and kept Bruce’s character from Ragnarok (Waititi’s anxious, awkward nerd is so much better than Whedon’s hypocritical jerk nerd). It’d be way too soon to suggest BuckyNat, but I hope maybe to see it in the BW movie and maybe get a hint of it in A4?)
And then there was Drax. Oh my gosh, Drax! I didn’t realise just how attached to him I was until he was disappearing. I was not prepared for his panic, his soft calling out to Quill, not understanding what was happening to him and desperate for Peter to stop it. It was all just so terribly sad. No matter what he says, it just shows how much he looks to Peter as his leader, how much he loves him. I wanted to hug that big lug.
And then of course, there was Thor watching Heimdall and Loki die... I don’t even want to remember that... and mourning his brother? It was, like, the first 5 minutes and already I was balling. Damn you, Marvel. Damn you.
Ok, that’s enough sad talk.
Things I loved:
- Cap, Widow and Falcon’s entrance. So badass. SO BAD ASS.
- Black Widow in this movie. This was like CAWS Black Widow. This is the BW I love. She didn’t have much screen time but every moment felt right with her.
- Thor’s... everything, really. Every second he was on screen, conscious or unconscious. He was funny, kind, breaking stereotypes, powerful, cool, bad ass... he’s my favourite.
- Peter’s pop culture references. And his basing plans on 80s movies.
- Those plans working.
- Ned. He was on screen for 30 seconds and he made me cackle.
- AVENGERS ICE-CREAM.
- “WHY is Gamora?”
- Wong. He was there for 5 minutes and he was hilarious. “200 rupees” XD
- Drax being ‘invisible’.
- The Gamora/Nebula bond.
- “Dude. You’re embarrassing me in front of the wizards.”
- THE BUCKY AND ROCKET MOMENT WHERE ROCKET WANTS BUCKY’S ARM. THAT’S ALL I ASKED FOR AND THEY DELIVERED. AND BUCKY LITERALLY PICKED UP ROCKET AND TWIRLED HIM AROUND SO HE COULD KILL MORE EFFECTIVELY. THEY ARE KINDRED SPIRITS. WHO BOTH LOVE GUNS AND WERE REPEATEDLY MADE AND UNMADE AND WERE TORTURED AND FELT SO UNLOVED AND OK NOW IT’S BECOMING SAD AGAIN.
- Okoye and her hilarious quips.
- The GotG intro.
- PETER DINKLAGE. WHO IS A GIANT DWARF.
- “Not if I don’t die.”
- Bruce’s inner Hulk conflict.
- Rhodes messing with Bruce.
- “If you throw another moon at me I’m gonna lose it.”
- Peter Quill being jealous of Thor.
- “I would have washed that.”
- Tony’s nano tech.
- Bucky and his quips.
- How Peter got the Iron Spider suit.
- The Red Skull?!!?!?
- “You speak Groot?” / “It was an elective.”
- Understanding Thanos’ terribly flawed plan, his dedication to it and why he really does believe it’s for the greater good, and his genuine, proven, deep love for his favourite daughter. That’s what makes him so terrifyingly real. Real monsters aren’t just evil for the sake of being evil. Real monsters have good parts to them. They love, they’re the heroes of their own stories. But those redeeming features are no excuse for their monstrosity, their vileness. He’s an excellent, complex and terrifying super-villain.
- How Shuri awed Bruce with her super brain.
- Whoever thought to put Rocket, Groot and Thor together.
- “Rabbit”
- “Morons”
- Fury’s “motherfuc-“
- “This is my friend, Tree.” / “I am Groot” / “I am Steve Rogers”.
Where were these characters?!
Antman, Hawkeye and Nakia? I assume it’s because they’ll have biggish roles in A4? It also leads me to think the Antman & Wasp movie might have some serious significance to A4. We already know that the upcoming Captain Marvel will be important, for obvious reasons, but I’m thinking that since Antman & Wasp is the next movie to be shown after IW, it’s probably going to give us something (is that really obvious to other people and I’m just missing something? XD)
(Also, again, where was Valkyrie? And while I’m at it, where was Betty Ross? Will she turn up on A4? Or was that fake too?)
I’m going to go weep in a corner now.

Infinity War Reaction: so, like, spoilers through this whole post.
I think.............................. there’s a lot to be said for the acting. This cast is really good, and though a lot of people had like, three lines (cough SebStan cough) they made those three lines memorable. And the plot itself was so disjointed that the cast must have had a hell of a time weaving the storyline together into something coherent.
I also went in ready for a mess and came out with a more positive impression than I entered, which is not what happened with cacw, the other ensemble cast film, so I’m pleasantly surprised about that. And the movie is... a culmination of the entire mcu, so I wasn’t expecting it to be very character-driven or deep (and imo this is where people are getting irritated with the movie, as well as the fact that marvel chose to dump the movie’s minimal exposition on its villain instead of any one hero)(but unpopular opinion: i’m glad they didn’t have strange ‘’’grow’’’ out of his moral ruthlessness, or wanda declare that she can’t turn her back on the fight, or tony sob about peter’s death- this was a movie about loss that is just... shoved onto you, the disappearance of billions of people in a matter of minutes- and idk I think people changing drastically over that length of time is unlikely, and once you’ve set that aside, imo, the movie didn’t feel as exhausting.)
I think I read two reaction posts right after exiting the theater  (@him-e‘s and @subjunctivemood‘s) and it’s kind of funny but I agree and disagree with them on a lot of points, despite each having relatively separate reactions themselves.
Funniest bit was that Clint/Ant-man just......... took a plea deal. I could not stop imagining the poor data entry person who had to process that nightmare of a thing, like, Clint goes “first active, then I brought in a Russian spy who might be brainwashed, then I got married and hid the family, then I retired, then I un-retired and became a fugitive, now I’m.... retired again bc my wife’s mad at me and I miss the kids???” this convo has no room not to be hilarious, I’m forever mad at marvel for cutting it lol
I liked the beginning.
ngl, it was heartbreaking.
also though, the movie starts by someone pleading- “this isn’t a warship, don’t fire- please- don’t fire-” and we see Thanos ignoring that, we see Heimdall on the floor, we see Thor bleeding; there were a lot of ways to establish that Thanos was a villain but none so dramatic as this one
And this movie is if nothing else #iconique
So not exactly a surprise, if you get my meaning
The total message behind the villain’s ideology was screwed up, but the hero’s answers to that? Reminds me of this meta in the asoiaf fandom, tbh: “we don’t trade lives” vs "’Everything,’ Davos said softly.”
It was powerful. I’m still in love with it.
In fact, I’m in love with the entire idea of the movie- where everything hurts, and hurts, and hurts, and nothing you do is enough, where all you can do is keep pushing against the darkness and it’s winning all the damn time and you know you cannot win, you know it’s absolutely impossible- but you rise and you stand and you fight nevertheless.
Yeah, I don’t like Peter, I never have and never will
honestly I couldn’t get through any of the gotg movies
I still haven’t watched either of them because he scrapes on my nerves like nothing else
That said, let me just say that I fucking loathe Peter Quill okay this is me hating him
Pssh Nebula though is gorgeous. Nebula is just. W O W. I might watch specific clips of her and Gamora alone because I have been missing out on that relationship. (SISTERS??? RAISED TO HATE EACH OTHER??? NOW REPAIRING THAT RELATIONSHIP??? I LOVE)
Gamora didn’t deserve to die, but- I think.... I’d have liked it more if Thanos had killed her and realized that it wasn’t love, not in the end, so he gives up something else- I understand why that didn’t work out, because of screen time- but maybe another gem?? Or one of his best lieutenants? Idk that would’ve been a better route, imo.
Relationships what relationships. Who knows who? Who cares about who? What cacw baggage? The only thing the Russos know is that Tony isn’t talking to Steve, and even that isn’t resolved properly, jfc.
I’m glad they piggy-backed off of Ragnarok’s humor, though, using both Banner and Thor to deliver those lines- it was good, and both actors are really good at those punchlines, so.
Though CA’s “I am Steve Rogers” in response to Groot still has me in stitches, that’s one of the best lines in cinematic history
RED SKULL. RED SKULL. RED SKULL.
I’ve never known anything more legitimately weird or jarring.
Was that supposed??? To be a point??? For the next movie???
idk but it looked damn stupid in this one
(Though if the entire point is to bring Steve Rogers to Vormir as a sort of full circle cycle and then Steve jumps into that hole and then he finds out that Gamora isn’t actually dead........ I think I might forgive everything. But only if all of that happens. Not before.)
Re: Strange/Tony, I went in expecting to ship it from multiple friends, but I came out kind of.... lackluster? Idk, I don’t see the chemistry that much- it seems like... they’re both just snappy assholes and used to being the smartest in the room and build off of each other. The Pepper scene in the beginning made my day, lolol.
The deaths could have been better. Ngl, the only deaths that made me feel things were T’Challa and Spiderman. The rest just- happened too fast.
Though Tony’s face (and Steve’s, and Rhodey’s)- oh, yeah, that was good.
Anyone else realize that the majority of the people that are left are the original avengers? Avengers4 will be more similar to the first avengers than either Ultron or this one, mark my words, and hopefully better for it.
I really really hope they put in one thing in the next movie of Tony panicking on Titan because he’s faced the thing he’s been afraid of for years now, he’s faced his biggest fucking fear-
Yeah, they probably won’t have time, yada yada yada, but it’d be damn cool if they gave me another panic attack a la IM3. That was good shit right there.
So, overall- I liked the movie, and the best shot of the entire thing (the five minutes that summed it up) were where all the Avengers come to try to stop him, and it doesn’t work, they’re batted aside like little toy pieces, and they face their darkest fears, Wanda kills Vision-
And it isn’t enough.
Thanos has time, has reality, has everything on his side. Wanda isn’t enough. Vision isn’t enough. Strange and Tony and Spiderman and everyone- they aren’t enough.
14 million possibilities, and only one where they win. But that one is a chance, and they aren’t going to let go of hope while that chance exists. There’s almost no likelihood that they’ll succeed, but goddamn does that mean they’ll give up.
That’s a really good motif for the entire movie.

I know scenes can take days/weeks to film, but it's still annoying to see RDJr the most on set because I still feel like he's going to be in thise movie a lot. Tny even gets Ppr and Hppy plus other scenes with GoTG. It should really just be renamed IM and the Avengers. His stans shouldn't be too concerned, I'm sure he'll be everywhere and on "God-mode" as far as his importance and what he does.
BIG FUCKING MOOD
like dude i got hyped at the leaked trailer and concept art (mainly because beard and emo suit, and then steve sam and natasha being next to one another on the concept art like hell yeah binch! highkey wish sharon was there too tho. and also that vision wasn’t on the poster and maybe had ceased to exist in general) but with every new thing that’s been shown since then, im just more and more disinterested
it feels like most everything is about rdj/tony stank and it’s just?? fuck. the first two avengers movies had more of a focus on tony than any other character, great to see it’s looking like that’ll be the case here too :^) i suppose it could be that the stuff with other characters might be ~too spoilery~ and they’re trying to keep it under wraps more but i can’t even keep up that vague hope tbh, it just feels like i’m deluding myself. after cap3 turned into the stank sadness show and knowing how marvel likes to suck im’s dick, it just feels… inevitable……… that tony will take over…… with his quips and his sadness…..

you’re so right! there was a lot happening at once and I kinda knew that it would most likely be like that going into it because it’s so many characters, quite a few who haven’t really interacted with each other yet, and so many pieces needing to be set in place for the next movie. ahhh I could see how confusing it’d be without watching gotg :/  I’m still pissed about gamora, I hope they bring her back! I told my brother “I don’t think Loki is dead” and he was like “when is Loki ever dead” LOL he’s coming back some way some how, trust me. if he doesn’t I will be CROSS @ marvel. lmao i know if i could have punched that zarkon wannabe in the face i would have
FUCKING RIGHT like i know you’re upset dude but why didn’t they explain to him AFTER they got the glove off that she was dead like we all knew he was going to blow a gasket over it!!!! just a few more seconds and it would have been fine!!! and now we’re all DEAD thanks chris pratt adijshh. peter’s was the worst for me :( the minute he fell into tony my heart was ripped out of my chest and now all I can think about is that ned and aunt may and company are at home in queens and no one knows where peter is except ned. just imagine how stressed aunt may must be, how bad ned might feel (like he could have stopped peter from going, told him to leave it to the avengers, reiterate that peter has a whole life ahead of him and he’s only been doing big stuff like this for so long). how they’re all probably watching the world crumble around them and the sheer confusion…… hng
thinking happy groot thoughts,,,, remember how invested he was in his video game,,, and the little condescending “i am groooot”. what a cutie. i love him. please mr. parker or i’m gonna have to punch a tarantula in the face one day and then cry about it because i hurt it. I really love the flash!!! I def recommend it. like most shows I haven’t finished it but I’m on season 2 and it’s really great. you’ll love the characters. also barry is like another peter almost so if u love peter u will love him. asjfhsidfj “mother” YES I AM UR MOM U BETTER HAVE RESTED. ily!!!! im so glad the long messages made a comeback ok fite me
