hello and welcome to the Magnus Comedy Bracket, the tournament in which we prove TMA is a workplace comedy by deciding which episode is the funniest. thanks to everyone's enthusiasm over the past several weeks, the end of the nomination period is now in sight! i will stop accepting submissions Friday, September 8th.

so until then, please continue to send in your personal picks for the funniest magnus episode! rules, as always, are as follows:

we��re only gonna look at the main 200 episodes. that means no patreon-exclusive or other bonus content.

the humor can be throughout the entire episode, in a single scene, or just one throwaway line; what matters is that it made you laugh.

please only submit one episode per response form, but feel free to submit as many response forms as you’d like.

episodes with the most submissions OR the most compelling propaganda will be included. the following episodes are automatically included, but i’ll gladly accept propaganda for them anyway:

Mike Zacharius: The Beast Titan grabs Mike's horse and hurls it towards him, forcing Mike to dodge it and inadvertently jump into the mouth of a waiting Titan. Mike's legs are crushed and the Beast Titan orders the Titan not to eat Mike so it can question him. The Titan ignores the command and the Beast Titan crushes its head and begins questioning Mike about his maneuvering equipment. Mike is too shocked to respond, causing the Beast Titan to become impatient and simply steal his gear before abandoning him. Mustering his courage, Mike tries to fight back but the Beast Titan allows the surrounding Titans to move freely again. The Titans immediately pounce on Mike, ripping him apart.

Jurgen Leitner: Audio direction for his death reads [EXTENDED SOUNDS OF BRUTAL PIPE MURDER]

Isaac Netero: Had his arm and leg removed, used an ability that drained all of his strength, and then killed himself to detonate the in-universe equivalent of an atomic bomb that was placed inside his body and set to explode the moment his heart stopped beating

Willam Easton: He gets pinned to a wall by a rack of needles that inject hydrofluoric acid into him, melting him. He also got some pretty nasty steam burns on the way there

Extremely curious about how the Vinny Vinesauce submitter motivated their submission considering we're talking about a streamer who may be great at SOUNDING like his soul is being dragged into the netherworld but is very much alive. Were they talking about some fangame where his avatar gets pummeled into dust or something?

he was entered in through Generation Loss: The Social Experiments, there was actually several entries from there, they where some the most morbid sounding tbh, he’s death description was His head was crushed by a falling anvil., which is basically the same death as one of the characters that inspired this bracket, (except that it was a falling piece of ceiling rock.)

Whitebeard: Marineford / Summit War - He sustained 267 sword wounds, 152 gunshot wounds, and 46 wounds from cannonballs, and got half of his head blasted off, resulting in 465 injuries in total.

Finnck Odiar: after surviving not one but two hunger games, he goes on a mission to infiltrate the capital, almost makes it to the end but as they are running from man eating mutant murder lizard men he ends up getting caught and torn limb from limb, never getting to meet his son.

I just wanted to let you know that a character’s name is wrong in one of the polls! “Ruins Hoshi” is actually “Ryoma Hoshi.” I imagine that’s autocorrect ;;

that’s how it was put in the submission autocorrect is probably exactly what caused it, i will keep note for the future thank you!

Yeoman Thompson: she killed by her captors, a race of people from beyond the edges of the Milkyway, as punishment for her Captain's disobedience. she was reduced to a dehydrated porous cuboctahedron solid, about the size of a human fist. (Basically a block of salt.) Then crushed excruciatingly by his alien captors

Ruins Hoshi: technically first he was drowned BUT then to frame someone else for the murder he got put into a tank where a magic show was happening and after the big reveal the piranhas came and he was reduced to some bloody water and a pile of bones real quick

How many submissions did a character need to receive to enter the tournament?

Tbh I panicked when I got 120 submissions and closed them and didn’t give out that 300-400 was normal until after I closed it and narrowed down some. so most only got one, other than ace from one piece he got nine, and Nina tucker got three

Sebastian Polk: After stabbing one of the protagonist's little brother and kicking him in the face, The Birch impales Sebastian in the torso with a tree and makes it grow out of his upper body. It's implied that some of the branches grew into his bones (all of this happened while he was still conscious btw)

Saito Sejima: Head exploded. Nothing from the neck up. Smithereens.

Kaworu Nagisa: so theres 2 versions of evangelion the original series and the rebuild. in the original kaworu gets crushed to death by a gigantic mecha, in the rebuild his head gets exploded off of his body

Tracey Barberato: Tracey is obliterated by a strange creature that appears in a monitored glass box at the top of a skyscraper while she is having sex. She is sliced rapidly and viciously by this entity which totally obliterates her head and torso.

William Afton: They got crushed, shredded, mangles etcetera by some sprinlocks, somehow didn't die, got burned to almost death and then burned to almost death again and then again but maybe actually died this time. Also lost the majority of his arm at some point, with the bone turning into like a sword like thing idk man (look, the wiki said he’s dead, i didn’t want to read that whole thing, as far as i’m aware he’s dead in the current timeline so it counts)

Godzilla (1954):ends up being killed (along with Dr. Serizawa) by the oxygen destroyer (name goes hard ngl) which basically depletes all his oxygen and like burns/evaporates his skin/organs till only a massive skeleton is left - he spends his last moments roaring in agony.

Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtu: The Obi-Wan figure from Animorphs, he shows up, gives the kids powers, and is immediately grabbed by the big bad. The big bad then morphs into a giant monster and eats him alive, with various body parts falling off to get eaten by other aliens. Eventually the big bad morphs back into a normal alien, and it's very unclear what happens to stomach contents when that occurs.

Cree Deeproots: Upon death, she became a vessel for a horrifying flesh city hive mind and became a mass of flesh, bone, tentacles, eyes, mouths, etc. Then she got killed again.
