Victoria didn’t want to give off the wrong impression, especially to frat boys - they were the ones that were the best to have by her side. “You’re right” she nodded, letting a smile peer through “I’m pretty jet lagged and just irritable, I get grouchy” she giggled innocently.
nolan gave an exaggerated eye roll, “sounds like a shitty excuse to be shitty.” he glanced down at his watch and gave a huff. “well, i’d love to stand here and grovel but, i’d much rather be in class. and that’s saying something.”

hooking up with your ex was always a mistake and shiloh was a mistake that nolan found himself making over and over again. he couldn’t help it. it wasn’t like when he broke up with shiloh it was because he didn’t love him anymore. he just got scared. so it was no surprise when he woke up, very hungover and tucked close to shiloh. the party felt blurry and distant in the back of his mind. he reached over to smack his alarm off, making a disgruntled noise at the ringing noise in his head. “shi, wake up,” he muttered, reaching over to shake him gently, “it’s...like nine, you’re gonna miss class.”

“true. plus it probably wouldn’t take too long before word got out and people stopped fucking with me,” she added, seeing a possible silver lining. “and what exactly is that supposed to mean?” she asked, “because i know you’re not implying that i’m a ho. i mean, that could be pretty bad for you,” she told him with a single armed shrug. “it is. i fucking hate it. i don’t know why i chose marketing. it’s such bullshit. and i guess that doesn’t surprise me. how have you managed to not totally flunk out yet?”
“just make sure you’re punching people right and don’t hurt your hand or anything,” nolan shrugged, closing his laptop. he cocked his head at her, feigning shock, “i would never imply anything so derogatory about you. i am a gentleman.” he leaned back in his chair, looking up at the ceiling, “my gpa is point zero three points above academic probation. i’m not stupid, i just don’t wanna graduate. but...i’m also kinda stupid. to be fair.”

shilohfraser:
shiloh became ecstatic by the news. sure, they kept in touch, but they didn’t exactly hang out. there was probably a code about hanging out with your ex’s mother and he didn’t want to break it without permission. “are you sure? i won’t do it if you think it’s weird.” he reassured him, but there was a hopeful spark in his eyes that showed how much he wanted it. his smile widened and he nodded without hesitation, “i don’t know if we’re joking or not, but i could do that. as a friend. do you want to do this?” he sighed and rolled out of the bed, returning with a glass of water and the medication that was asked of him. he reluctantly handed the pills, brows furrowing with worry. “three feels like a lot, nol. i won’t question you because you’re the doctor here, but i normally only take one at a time.” he climbed back into bed with his ex and ran his fingers through his hair in an attempt to ease some of the pain “does your head hurt?” he frowned “you can go back to sleep, then. it’s okay. i’ll be here when you wake up.”
there was something odd about the relationship that shiloh maintained with his mother but they weren’t exactly conventional ex’s so he let it go. “like i said, she’d really like it,” nolan shrugged, “honest, i don’t mind.” at the idea of them actually agreeing not to sleep with other people as friends, nolan rolled his eyes, “christ, if i was gonna make that kind of agreement i’d just start dating you again, shiloh.” the older man watched the other cross the room, relieved when he brought him the pills without actually arguing. “it’s a low dose,” he promised as he took them, leaning into shiloh’s touch contently. “just hung over,” nolan murmured, reaching up to take the hand that shiloh had in his hair, “i’m already up now. might as well stay up so you don’t...draw on my face or go through my closet or clean my desk while i sleep.”
