“ow” when used to describe pain is too sharp to be used with dulled/drawn out pain, like cramps. it’s more effective with pokes or scrapes. the appropriate response for more drawn out pain is to die

what do you think of emmet talking to finn and ted in the real world in the piece of resistance?

i dont like it :(..

i like the moments we got between finn and ted, and what i saw in the script emmet took that place. the understanding between father and son is lost, also the magic talking lego piece disconnects the movie from reality. suddenly it’s not a movie about the possibilities of imagination and now it’s about this specific lego brick.

in all seriousness, i’m not sure how to feel about it. it’s alright, but if i’m honest i like the movie we did get. i do find it interesting the kinds of ideas explored in the draft, such as lucy being an ex??? also kinda interesting that doris seems to take lucy’s place for a lot of the movie
