A whole lotta people like to write about Fugo returning and apologizing to Giorno for leaving the gang. Don't make any sense to me, it's the donut-hair that should be sorry his awful idea got almost everyone else killed AND the mafia ended up with a fifteen year old kid in charge of the whole scheme. Which looks pathetic.

Jojo but no stand has it's existence 100% linked to it's user's, which means that if you manage to get past the stand and murder the enemy directly, only your fiend dies.

The stand is just left there now, like a Pokémon whose trainer passed. It doesn't have to follow orders anymore, but it might feel bad for not being able to protect the user depending on how it's been treated before.

Alternatively, a neglected or mistreated stand may choose to wait for the next opportunity to appear to murder it's user. If it's summoned during battle, it will side with the enemy to accomplish that.

A freed stand could either choose to roam a new world of possibilities by itself, seek other lone stand friends and build a clan or find someone else to serve.

That someone could either already have a stand and earn another one, or be a clueless, standless person (maybe even a hamon fighter) that isn't even able to see the thing, but is chosen as the next user for whatever reason and thus gets free protection haunting-style. This would probably result in the human just thinking "wow, things just started to go my way all of a sudden, but how did this happen?"

Even after having achieved freedom, stands may hold grudges against one another for a number of reasons. As in, their last users were enemies and they've fought each other many times before. If both sides enter separate clans, a war between invisible armies may ensue. Whichever place is chosen as the battlefield will become "inexplicably" unsafe, in the eyes of people who can't see them.

The clans formed by previously mistreated stands will rebel against mankind in an attempt to get revenge for being forced to serve humans. Users will have to step in, being the only ones that know the threat, but their own ghostly friends might start to question if they're willing to battle their own kind to protect the very beings who have been controlling them in favor of selfish wants through all of history.

Stands wouldn't be able to abandon their very first users while they're alive, because even if the stand tries to get away it can be summoned back at any time. But if it's not in very good terms with it's companion yet doesn't feel the need to kill that person, it can act as an inconvenience as well.

Whatever. I just think that'd be interesting. Has this au-ish thing been made before?

Does anyone know any pieces of fiction in which the RPG hero chooses not to kill the goblins and receives help from them through the quest and/or aids them?

Preferably one in which the goblins are goblins and not just anime girls painted green, thanks.
