I genuinely believe that Scott's one true fear is finality. Endings. And it permeates everything about him.

Scott can't handle not having a choice, not being able to move, confinement, he responds very negatively to things like the Boogeyman Curse or Soulmates as a concept, he doesn't like to believe there are things that can be imposed on him that he cannot change.

Grief is the one biggest pain in Scott's life, throughout multiple storylines, from Third Life to Witchcraft Smp, the thought of the end, of someone dying- really dying, not the temporary loss of most series he's in- is the one thing that's made Scott spiral like nothing else ever could (in witchcraft smp this even manifested in scott refusing to accept death to the point of necromancy)

It's hard for Scott to move on from past alliances. He drifts back to Cleo over and over in any universe, in almost every season he gifts Jimmy a poppy or even a pufferfish, his past alliances with Gem, Pearl, and Martyn are often swirling around his head, right there at the surface. Memories do not live in the past for Scott, they move alongside him.

At its best, all of this means Scott is an incredibly optimistic and driven person who never gives up and always finds a silver lining or way out, because to Scott, there has to always be a way out, he cannot handle the thought that there's not.

Scott is flexible and optimistic and determined and loving and absolutely terrified of finality because it goes against everything he is as a person.
