Abel & Cain
TUESDAY OCTOBER 9, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
ABEL & CAIN
Genesis 4:2-5 (EXB)
After that, Eve gave birth to Cain’s brother Abel [resembles the word for vapor or breath]. Abel took care of flocks, and Cain ·became a farmer [ was a tiller/worker of the ground] . ·Later [In due course;  At the end of the days], Cain brought some ·food [produce; fruit] from the ground as a ·gift [tribute;] to God. Abel brought the ·best parts [fat portions;] from some of the firstborn of his flock . The Lord ·accepted [looked with favor on] Abel and his ·gift [tribute] , but he did not ·accept [look with favor on] Cain and his ·gift [tribute]. So Cain became very angry and ·felt rejected [or felt dejected; his face/countenance fell].
The story of Abel and Cain’s offerings to the Lord has baffled some Christians for some time. There are several postulations as to why God accepted Abel’s offering and rejected Cain’s. As children, some of us had this picture that Cain brought rotten fruits and vegetables to offer to the Lord and Abel brought a nice white ram to offer. But that is not what is in scripture. Also some ministers teach that God rejected Cain’s offering because it was not the required blood offering. But in reality, that is an implied teaching; it is not clearly stated. And Cain was a crop farmer; so he actually brought what he had. But what is clear to us in the passage is stated right there. The Bible says, “Cain brought some ·food [produce; fruit] from the ground as a ·gift [tribute;] to God.” But when it talks about Abel’s offering it says, “Abel brought the ·best parts [fat portions;] from some of the firstborn of his flock.” So it was not really about the content of the offering but the value of the offering to the one who was offering it. Whereas Cain just picked some of his harvest and offered it, the Bible says that Abel took the best part; the first and the choicest part of his harvest to offer to God. So it was a valuable offering. Abel gave his best whereas Cain just gave something. God gave You His best. So in whatever you give to Him; whether it’s in service, time, money and any sacrifice, make sure it is your best to Him and you will blessed and favored. Hallelujah!
PRAYER: Father it is to You that I sincerely give all the glory. You deserve my best in all things because all I am and have is You. In Jesus’ Name

GIVE GOD YOUR BEST
MONDAY OCTOBER 8, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
GIVE GOD YOUR BEST
2 Samuel 24:24 (NLT )
“But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on buying it, for I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing.” So David paid him fifty pieces of silver for the threshing floor and the oxen.”
The greatest thing God has ever done for us is to give us His very life through His precious Son Jesus Christ. In retrospect, we did nothing to deserve it neither were we (through the lens of scripture) anything that He should give His best for us. Jesus is the Darling of Heaven. God gave His best for the world when He gave Jesus. So the Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” That was the best God had to offer the world in order to give us His life. Now in our walk with God, there are times when it is required of us to give to God. In all those cases there is nothing that we can give to God as a sacrifice that He actually needs. The Bible says in Psalm 50:11-13, “I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?” But every sacrifice or offering, whatever it be, is a declaration of our love for Him and is actually a blessing for us. In whatever you decide to offer to Lord as a sacrifice, whether it’s your time; your money; your service or anything, make sure that it is your true best. Offer nothing that is of little or no value to the Lord. Give God your best in anything you give to Him. In the opening verse when David wanted to buy a piece of land to offer sacrifices to the Lord, the owner offered to give it to him for free but he said, “...I will not present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing...” Hallelujah!
PRAYER: Father in the Name of Jesus I bless you for the love You’ve graciously bestowed upon me. You’ve freely given me Your best therefore I, in love and by faith, give You my true best in all things. In Jesus’ Name.

THE PRESSURES WILL COME
FRIDAY OCTOBER 5, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
THE PRESSURES WILL COME
2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.
Many people think that they can never enjoy life as long as there are pressures or troubles. When we talk about enjoying your life in Christ we are not trying to say that challenges will never come. In fact, I can assure you that you will have trouble everyday just because you’re a child of God. But the presence of troubles doesn’t mean the absence of enjoyment. The Bible says in Mark 4:37-39, “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” The presence of the storm didn’t change Jesus’ perspective of life. He was still asleep in the boat while the storm was on. And when He woke up he dealt with the storm. If you’re waiting for troubles, pressures or storms to cease before you enjoy your life, then you’ll never enjoy it. The opening verse says, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed...” It means we have pressures on every side but we are not crushed. The pressures don’t change our “shape”. The life of God in us keeps us in shape no matter what the pressures are. The devil won’t stop throwing his darts at you, but that can’t stop you from walking in righteousness, living in peace, enjoying prosperity, living in divine guidance, walking in victory, living in absolute health and enjoying your fellowship with God. Hallelujah!
DECLARATION: The pressures of this world can’t change my state. I’m resilient and built up to enjoy my life in Christ. I refuse to be cast down and discouraged. I enjoy my life in Christ at every time and in every situation in Jesus’ Name.

WHAT ENJOYING LIFE LOOKS LIKE
THURSDAY OCTOBER 4, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
WHAT ENJOYING LIFE LOOKS LIKE
2 Peter 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
So what does it mean to enjoy life? Until we properly paint the right picture of an enjoyed life, many Christians will still probably think enjoying life is sin or many will think we are talking about the world’s corrupted picture of enjoying life. To enjoy life actually has a scriptural picture. It means to live in Christ, enjoying righteousness, peace, prosperity, victory, divine health, divine guidance and fellowship with God. When you’re walking in these seven realities in totality you’re enjoying life! An enjoyed life is one that is lived above sin. That is you’re walking in righteousness with sin having absolutely no mastery over you. An enjoyed live is one lived in peace irrespective of external circumstances. It is one lived in abundance and wealth; always having more than enough to be a blessing to others. It is a life lived in absolute victory over every challenge all the time. An enjoyed life is one lived in absolute health and dominion over sickness. An enjoyed life is one lived in absolute divine guidance with no confusion over which path of life to take. Finally it is one lived in sweet fellowship with the Godhead. This is the life! And the opening verse says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness...” All these things that make life enjoyable have already been giving to us by Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
DECLARATION: Inside my spirit is every requisite ingredient for the good life. Every element of an enjoyed life is resident in me by Christ Jesus. I lack nothing. I’m fully furnished. In Jesus’ Name

MUCH MORE TO ENJOY
MONDAY OCTOBER 1, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
MUCH MORE TO ENJOY
Romans 5:17
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
For many Christians, the Christian life is synonymous with sufferings and sacrifices in life without enjoyment. But the Christian life the Bible shows us is a glorious life designed to be enjoyed. Jesus Christ brought a life with much more to enjoy. He said it Himself in John 10:10 (AMPC), “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” He came that you may have and enjoy life! Hallelujah! To enjoy means to have for one's use, benefit, or lot or experience or to take pleasure or satisfaction in something. Wow! Jesus came for as to take pleasure and satisfaction in life. But that is not the experience of most Christians; because they’ve not discovered in the Word of God how to enjoy the life Jesus came to give us. Furthermore the Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:17 (AMPC), “As for the rich in this world, charge them not to be proud and arrogant and contemptuous of others, nor to set their hopes on uncertain riches, but on God, Who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for [our] enjoyment.” This is amazing! Is this in your Bible? “... Who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for [our] enjoyment...” We have so much more to enjoy! Renew your mind today! Maybe you’ve been in line with that old song we used to sing in school: “life in this world is a great struggle for both the young and old...” Change that pattern of thinking. Start thinking that, “He came that I may have and enjoy life!” There’s so much more in Christ for you. So the opening verse says, “...much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ...” Of great value is the phrase “much more”. There’s much more for you to enjoy in Christ. Praise the Lord!
DECLARATION: There’s so much for me to enjoy in Christ! My mind is renewed from the world’s mindset of endless struggles. In Christ I am divinely positioned to live the good life always. In Jesus’ Name

GO WHERE YOU GROW
FRIDAY JULY 27, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
GO WHERE YOU GROW
Isaiah 2:3
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord , to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
The church you go to or the ministry you are planted in is very essential to your spiritual growth. If you are in a church where you are not growing or in a church where you are not being fed the right diet or the present truth of God's Word you will not grow. I have met people who are in churches where they are not growing spiritually and they know that God wants them to move but they feel that they can find a way to change their church. They want to start a one-man crusade of changing doctrines of churches that have been there long before their grandparents were born. It is a fact that there are cases where God may want you to stay in a place so that you would shed some light in the truth there but ideally if you are in a place where you are not growing you need to start praying to God about what to do: specifically where to move. The bible says in John 1:35-37, “Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.” There were two disciples with John the Baptist when they heard him speak about Jesus. John the Baptist never said anything about them following Jesus, but they knew that Jesus was the One with the message for that dispensation and the Saviour so they followed Jesus. Your church is not obtained by inheritance or by birth, it is by the planting of the Holy Spirit. It doesn't even matter if that's where you were born again, if you're not being fed the right diet to grow, start asking the Holy Spirit what to do. You were born in the labour room of a hospital: did you move your things to stay there because you were born there? The mature Christian is the one who has been trained in the ways of God and walks in the paths of God. This is only possible when you are fed the right diet of the Word of God: the Word of His Grace. If you're not growing where you are ,you need to start praying and go where you grow. Hallelujah!
PRAYER: Dear Holy Spirt, I yield myself to your leading to be planted in the right place and under the right minister for me to grow. I refuse to remain where I'm not growing for the wrong reasons in Jesus' mighty Name. Amen.

GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
THURSDAY JULY 26, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Jeremiah 3:15
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Because God desires that you grow spiritually, He has a good plan for you. God takes your spiritual growth very seriously and is excited when He sees you grow and take your rightful place as a master of life. God has good plans for you to grow spiritually and if you would just cooperate with Him you will see exponential spiritual growth. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:7, “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” Grace is the medium in which we grow spiritually. (2 Peter 3:18). The verse says that we are given grace according to or in proportion with the measure of the gift of Christ. The question is, "what is this gift of Christ?" The gift of Christ is the gift given by Christ. These gifts are seen in Ephesians 4:11, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”
He gave us gifts of ministers in the offices of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.
He gives us gifts so that they will perfect and edify us that we will not remain children (Ephesians 4:12-14). That's God's plan for you. He has given you a specific person according to His heart to bring you up in the Word of Grace as a father to the place of maturity so that you don't remain a child. God's plan is to give you a pastor, who will feed you with the present truth, knowledge and understanding so that you will grow. If you don't have a pastor you cannot grow. A pastor is not received by inheritance or birth. You don't say, "I was born in this church so this is my pastor". Or "I like the way he talks so he is my pastor." It is God who gives you the pastor to feed you and if you ask Him He will guide you to your pastor. You will notice a special divine connection between you and the person or you'll just know by the Spirit that this person is the one who is ordained to feed you. If you are serious about growing spiritually you must locate your pastor and commit yourself to being fed the right diet of God's Word.
PRAYER: Lord I thank you for giving me a pastor to feed me. Lord if I have not located the one You have ordained to feed me I receive your direction to locate them and grace to be committed to be fed by them and grow, in Jesus' Mighty Name.

YOUR GROWTH IS DETERMINED BY YOUR DIET
TUESDAY JULY 24, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
YOUR GROWTH IS DETERMINED BY YOUR DIET
1 Peter 2:2 (NLT)
Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation.
Just as in the physical, a proper diet is required for proper physical growth,in the spirit, a proper spiritual diet is required for sustained spiritually growth. You can't just give any food to anybody and expect that they grow significantly. A newborn baby fed with very spiced meat with bones will end up malnourished because they can't handle it. And an adult fed with breast milk or infant milk will also be malnourished. To grow properly in the spirit you must be fed the right meals in the spirit. The right meals means the right Word for your spirit. The Word of God contains the building blocks and the nutrients growth for your spirit. But not just anything that comes from the Bible is the right Word for your spirit. The Bible says in Acts 20:32, “And now, brethren, I COMMEND you to God, and to THE WORD OF HIS GRACE, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” The right diet for our spiritual growth now, is the Word of His grace. The verse says, 'I commend you....to the Word of His grace." The Word of His grace is the recommended diet for you to be built up to take your rightful place in Christ. The Word of His grace is the message about all Christ has done and made available to us and who we have become in Him. Pure sincere milk is the fresh present truth of God's Word: the Word of His grace. Just as you won't go to a restaurant that serves bad food, don't abide in a place where you are not being fed the right spiritual diet and are not growing. Get the right diet and grow!
PRAYER: Dear Holy Spirit, it is your desire that I grow. Lead me to the place where I will be fed the right spiritual diet, the present truth, the Word of His grace so that I may grow and take my place in Christ.

TAKE YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH SERIOUSLY
MONDAY JULY 23, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
TAKE YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH SERIOUSLY
Galatians 4:1
Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all.
There are many Christians who don't find the Christian life exciting and meaningful. To them it is tiring and demanding. However to be a Christian is the best thing in the world. Being born again, you have been divinely initiated into the best and the highest kind of life in every realm of existence. It is the most exciting thing to have the exact life of the Creator and Owner of the universe. It is so much more exciting to have a personal and intimate fellowship with God.(John 10:10,John 17:3). Many Christians have lost the excitement they once had when they first got saved and for some, things have just become routine rituals; they don't find any meaning and excitement in reading their Bibles, going to Church or praying. God expects us to and finds great joy and excitement in you growing spiritually. The stagnancy and lack of excitement in the life of many Christians is mainly because they are not growing spiritually. And the reason many Christians are not growing spiritually is because they have not taken the process very seriously. The opening verse makes us understand that as long as you are a child in the spirit, your life will be no different from that of a servant or a slave (i.e. the unbeliever) even though you are legally an heir and owner of all things. Health is yours; prosperity is yours, wisdom is yours; success is yours; victory is yours; peace is yours; but until you grow and take your place you won't experience them. Get ready for a journey of supernatural growth this week!
PRAYER: Father It is your desire that I grow and take my place as the master of life you have made me. I receive grace to grow spiritually in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen!

STEPS TO INTIMACY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT PT.1
WEDNESDAY JULY 4, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
STEPS TO INTIMACY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT PT.1
Acts 19:2 (AMP)
And he asked them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed [on Jesus as the Christ]? And they said, No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.
The first step to developing intimacy with the Holy Spirit is to receive Him. That where it all begins. It is possible to go through your whole Christian life without actually being awakened to the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life. You may assume you have actually ‘received’ the Holy Spirit if you have not been properly taught the Word of God. When we talk about receiving the Holy Spirit it is not as if you have been born again separately and then you are now about to have a first encounter with the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:13 (AMP), “ For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.” When we are born again, we are baptized into the Body of Christ and in that same process we are made to drink into or partake of the Holy Spirit. By that process we are made one with the Holy Spirit. Your next experience is when you are awakened or made ‘alive’ to His Person and presence in your life either by the laying on of hands or by your personally standing on God’s Word. That’s what the Bible calls the baptism in the Holy Spirit. That is the first step to developing an intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit. There is a certain knowing; or witness or spiritual awareness you have when this takes place. You just know that He lives in you. You cannot explain it with your physical senses or intellect; you just know in your spirit that you’ve received the Holy Ghost. That is the first step to developing a rich intimacy with the Holy Spirit. If you've not yet been awakened to the presence if the Holy Spirit in Your life, say the prayer that follows ad confidently believe that He is alive in You. Hallelujah!
PRAYER: Father I thank You for the gift if the Holy Spirit. By the new birth I am made to drink into the Spirit and I am one with Him. Today I believe that I am made alive to Him and conscious of His presence in me. I am filled with the Holy Spirit in Jesus' Name.

INTIMACY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT PT.2
TUESDAY JULY 3, 2018
HEAVEN ON EARTH DAILY DEVOTION
INTIMACY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT PT.2
John 15:26 (AMP)
But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.
We saw yesterday that your life’s primary purpose is the fellowship with divinity and it is only vitally experienced through an intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Why is your intimacy with the Holy Spirit the way to have a vital fellowship with divinity? It’s because He brings you the presence of God. He is the Person of God’s presence. He brings the reality of the presence of the Father and the Son to you. He is the One Who makes the Father and the Son real to you. When the Lord Jesus spoke to the disciples before His death, He said in John 16:7 (AMP), “However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].” Jesus knew that it was more important for us for the Holy Spirit to come and live in us that for Him to be with us. That’s what He meant. Jesus was even realer to the disciples when they received the Holy Spirit than when He was with them physically. The Holy Spirit brought the exact reality of the presence of Jesus to them. This is why you must develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is the ‘conveyor’ of the presence of God. That’s what the opening verse is saying to us. He says, “the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me.” He proceeds or issues or gushes from the Father. He is God and the Person of the Presence of God. Amazing!
PRAYER: Father I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit to me. By Your Spirit, Your presence is real to me. Precious Holy Spirit I acknowledge Your presence in me in Jesus' Name.
