WHEN: Saturday, August 1st. WHERE: Sapphire (Neutral) HOSTED BY: Mia Costello TIME: 7:00 PM CST DRESS CODE: Assigned Costume OOC TIME: 6:00 PM CST
Chanel Albright, the Costello’s notorious publicist, is turning 29 and all of Chicago’s elite, spontaneous, reckless and eyebrow raising are invited. Hosted and thrown by one of Chicago’s former news headliners, Mia Costello. This is a private event where two things allow you entrance into Sapphire, a personalized VIP pass and being dressed as the 90s or 00s artist listed on said pass. Failure to meet the dress code or to arrive in costume as someone other than the name on the pass results in not only a denied entry but immediate escorting from Sapphire’s premises.
Liquor, food, 90s/00s nostalgia and music will be in abundance. Drinks are practically free and the night will be wild and one to be remembered. Cell Phones and digital cameras are traded in for polaroid and disposable cameras. Sapphire has been transformed from the club of the present to that of the past with classics of each era and a few modern amenities provided for guests entertainment. Costello and private security are heavily in attendance to make sure things do not get too out of hand.
A/N: A special THANK YOU to Isa for putting this all together. She assigned every character a 90s/00s icon to dress up as – even the ones who aren’t taken! Everyone’s costumes will be listed below. She also made a playlist (listen here) and typed everything up. I didn’t have to do much work for this at all! Thank you for coming up with such a fun idea for everyone to participate in!
With that being said, I think I can trust everyone here to write and do replies however they see fit. If you want to write interactions via Chatzy/Discord, that’s fine, just make sure to post them on the dash if anything important happens so that we can all read! Try to stay on top of replies (this especially goes for ME, I suck). Have fun, make sure to check out the assigned costumes below! And make sure your character shows up in costume or they won’t be let in. Don’t make Mia mad, plz, thank you.

WHEN: Saturday, July 4th. WHERE: Rooftop of the Astor Hotel (Neutral) TIME: 7:30 PM DRESS CODE: Swimwear OOC DATE AND TIME: July 3rd, 7:00 PM CST.
Chicago is kicking off the summer with an epic pool party to celebrate the 4th of July. All are welcome, though space is somewhat limited -- so make sure to RSVP as soon as possible to save your spot! The event will take place on the iconic rooftop of Astor Hotel and its three pools. Surrounded by a beautiful garden area and the perfect view of Chicago, the Astor 4th of July Party isn’t something that you want to miss!
There will be grilled food, plenty of liquor, and a DJ for entertainment. After sunset, there will be a firework show visible from the roof top. Since Astor Hotel has an amazing view of Lake Michigan, most people wander over to the beach after the party.
A/N: Roleplaying for this event will begin on Friday July 3rd! Events here can take a little longer to wrap up, so I wanted to give us a few days head start! This will be a dash event, but if you and your writing partner(s) feel the need to zoom through a few things via Chatzy/Discord, that’s perfectly fine! Since the focus will be on the dash, I strongly recommend that any current threads are wrapped up by July 3rd or placed on hold for the first few days of the event.
While I would like to have this take place via Chatzy, it’s a little hard since some of us have multiple characters. The dash makes it easier to manage. Because of this, I ask you all to try and treat this event like a Chatzy. Try to stay on top of replies the way you would in a Chatzy. Don’t be afraid to reach out to other players for plotting, writing, etc. If you have any questions, let me know!

NOAH SINCLAIR
TWENTY-FOUR – SOCIALITE – SINCLAIR
trigger warning: death
Noah had always felt out of place growing up, and it didn’t get any better as he got older. Noah was a lot to handle. He kept everyone around him on their toes, often times being too much for either of his parents to deal with. Johnny Sinclair had no patience to raise another son -- he already had the perfect ones in Jack and Thomas. Noah was a spare part, unwanted, oftentimes mistreated by his own father. So he acted out, and at first -- it was just to get some attention. Then, as time went on, he did it simply to spite his father. The older that he got, the more he realized how unwanted he was by both parents. Noah didn’t adapt to private schools as easily as the rest of his siblings. He went out of his way to make friends in all of the wrong places and, eventually, it caught up to Noah.
Noah’s teenage years were difficult, for a multitude of reasons. His relationship with his father had deteriorated beyond the point of repair, and after a few physical altercations, Noah found himself crashing with his cousins. At sixteen, Noah was partying, having fun, getting in to trouble, falling in love. Noah had started dating Marissa, and the two were together for the better part of a year. They frequently partied together, and despite being so young, Noah knew that he was in love with her. If only it hadn’t ended so... tragically.
Marissa and Noah had been partying for hours one night. They were both fairly intoxicated, and they’d made the stupid decision to climb onto the roof top of her parents’ place for a better view. Marissa had been joking with Noah that she could fly whenever she lost her balance and stumbled over the ledge. Noah froze in place, not looking down, mortified whenever he didn’t hear Marissa cry out for help. Noah didn’t know what to do... so he called his father. Johnny, Jack, and Thomas showed up within a few minutes of the accident and had to physically remove Noah from the roof. Within a few hours, the scene was clean, and there was no sign of Noah having been there at all. Marissa was officially a runaway, and the cops on the Sinclair payroll ensured that the investigation never went beyond that. Marissa’s parents would never know what really happened to her.
Noah fought like hell to turn himself in. He loved Marissa. What had happened was an accident. He didn’t want to live with that guilt for the rest of his life, but Johnny set him straight. Noah was done. His life in Chicago was over. Noah would be somebody else’s problem now. Within forty-eight hours, he was shipped off to California to live with a relative that he’d never even met. Before his departure, Noah had a serious discussion with his father -- Johnny told his son that he was worthless, a disappointment, and better off dead. Noah was banned from the city indefinitely. He didn’t end up setting foot in Chicago again until he was nineteen, and he’d only been allowed back to see Paityn graduate. It only lasted a few days before Johnny told Noah to get the hell out of Chicago before he ruined something else, too. Noah had no choice but to adapt to life in California -- a life away from his family. He missed his siblings like hell, but he had his own demons to try and work through. Marissa’s death wasn’t something that Noah ever forgot about, but in recent years, he’s forced himself not to think about it. There was a time whenever all of Noah’s thoughts were consumed with his lost love. It wasn’t healthy, but he felt... responsible. He should’ve called the police. He should’ve said something.
As Noah worked through his obvious issues, California became home. For the first time, he wasn’t being berated for simply breathing the wrong way. He belonged there, with his new family -- the one that he’d chosen, but it didn’t make him miss his siblings any less. Over the years, Noah’s gone back to visit Chicago for a few weeks at a time, but his father’s ban remains in place. Noah’s allowed back -- in small doses. He was, of course, in attendance at Paityn’s wedding. Only 24 hours after her disappearance, Johnny had Noah on a plane back to California before he somehow interfered with the search. Noah didn’t know what to do, but he checked in constantly. Whenever his sister finally did make it home, Noah flew in to check on her, and that’s when he decided: he would stay in Chicago for longer than usual. His sister had gotten married, his nieces and nephews were getting older -- he was missing a lot of stuff. No matter how much he hated his father, he didn’t hate his siblings and cousins. Besides -- Jack was in charge. Noah wasn’t leaving Chicago so easily this time.

SEBASTIAN SINCLAIR
TWENTY-FIVE – LAWYER – SINCLAIR
Sebastian Sinclair had the world in the palm of his hand. From the moment he was born into the Sinclair family with his blonde hair and his blue eyes, it was easy to figure out what type of person he would become. Even before the child learned how to speak he had both his parents at his every beck and call, even somehow managing to earn special attention from his Uncle Johnny. Felicity followed quickly after him, but she'd never garnered the same attention from their Uncle as Sebastian had, though as the boy grew older he simply wrote it off as an old-fashioned ideology in men in the mob.
He had a fairly normal childhood, in terms of children growing up in the spotlight. He had a close-knit group of friends, including his cousin Noah, and a knack for getting in and out of trouble. Petty theft, vandalism, public intoxication; they were all things he had committed but had managed to get off scot-free from. Not a single citation or any type of legal documentation that it had ever even happened. Most times he would be 'given a warning' to suggest that the next time he did it and got caught it would go into his records, but he knew it would turn out just the same. Part of it was the blond hair and the blue eyes that made him look like an angel who could do no wrong, and the other part of it was the fact that he had learned how to hone in on his boyish charm. As he got older he learned how to use that charm towards other things. Not only could he talk his way out of any situation, but he could also talk his way into any situation. He left a slew of broken hearts in his wake throughout high school, a smile on his face as he did it. He couldn't exactly tie himself down with anything serious, after all. Not when he had such big plans for his future. Which is exactly how he managed to convince his family that he wouldn't be participating in the family business; not directly, anyway.
Sebastian had decided that his natural charm and trusting appearance were the perfect building blocks to something else helpful. Becoming a lawyer for the family. His grades had always been mediocre, but his ability to twist things in his favor trumped that small setback to his plans. He moved away for college, using his family name and fortune (and some additional help from his Uncle once again), managing to get into Harvard on the East Coast. His time spent there was filled with further manipulation of his peers and superiors, with a little bit of actual studying sprinkled throughout, until his final graduation which quickly led to his three years in Law School at the same place he'd just become an Alumni.
Now that his final year of schooling has come to a close, Sebastian has found himself coming back home to a life he nearly forgot. Nearly. All that's left for him to do is to take his Bar Exam and then he can quickly get to work on protecting his family and their employees from the trouble they almost always find themselves in. In the meantime, he's found himself itching to get back to the other side of the law where he gets to flash his pearly whites and blink his long lashes out of yet another misdemeanor. Even if that means flirting in the dangerous waters of their enemies for a quick thrill.

CORINNA SUTTER
TWENTY-THREE – STRIPPER – COSTELLO
Once the heiress to a feared gang in California, Corinna saw it crumple a little over a year ago. She grew up hearing stories of her family’s influence, and how, at the snap of a finger, her father could make men disappear. She grew up in a nice home, lived lavishly with what little wealth her father had left. Corinna grew up craving the power that her family once had. She wanted to inherit the family business. She knew that she was more than capable of doing so. Unfortunately, that day never came.
The Sutter name became a joke. Her father began losing assets over the years, and by the time Corinna was a teen, they were rarely making a dent in the drug business. They were losing money. Other families were encroaching on their territory, and they sat by and let it happen. The man she once aspired to be had turned out to be a disappointment. Corinna swore to herself that she’d never let her own reputation be tarnished like her father’s. She’d never deprive herself of the life she’d always deserved. Corinna wasn’t religious, but she found herself praying for something. She never knew her saving grace would come in the form of her father’s murderer.
One night, Corinna woke to the sound of gunshots. She wasn’t stupid— she’d always known that the time would come. That one day, someone else would come and take everything that they had. The Sutter estate was raided and she emerged as the lone survivor. That night, Corinna learned the full extent of her father’s shame. Desperate for money, he’d formed an alliance with a powerful family from Chicago. The Costellos were swimming in money— they had millions. Her father opened a line of credit with the Costellos, and towards the last few months of his life, he was unable to make the payments. They’d signed a contract in blood, and when her father couldn’t pay, they came to collect.
For whatever reason, Corinna was spared, and instead of running in the opposite direction, she found herself in Chicago.
When she was questioned by the police, Corinna didn’t have much information to provide. Her father’s murder would be a cold case— she knew the Costellos weren’t fools. And, as much as it hurt Corinna to lose her father, she knew that he was better off dead than alive. The shame and embarrassment of his failed career had already been killing him long before the Costellos did. Corinna wasn’t about to let this opportunity pass her up. She knew it was stupid and dangerous, but she was determined to do what it took to survive. There was nothing left for Corinna to inherit in California— Chicago was where she wanted to be. Corinna Sutter wasn’t someone to be ignored. She wormed her way into the Costello organization. She started stripping, but being on her own came as a culture shock to Corinna. At times, she forgets that she’s not who she was in California. Her name carries absolutely no weight in Chicago, and she’s had to reel her attitude in on more than one occasion (she can’t get away with saying whatever she wants now). Life is... almost unbearable for someone as melodramatic as Corinna. Surprisingly enough, she did make friends with Aaron Kumar a few weeks after moving to Chicago. He had a spare bedroom, and Corinna couldn’t afford a place of her own. She moved in with him hoping it was just a stepping stone. There was nothing wrong with stripping, but Corinna knew she wanted more than that.
