This act does NOT protect children, in fact I am convinced it will push them into more unsafe areas of the internet.

There are so many ways this is a huge privacy risk for UK adults (data breaches, less known sites using it for scams etc etc etc). It has also already caused a lot of censorship around things like trans rights, suicide prevention tools, etc etc etc etc...

In a couple of months a lot of free resources will be forced to simply shut down because they can't afford to pay for the expensive verification systems that are required of them (which is already starting to happen btw), as well as create a lot of paywalls (which is also happening already).

The rollouts we started seeing on the 25th is just the beginning, the first stage. By the end of the year you will need a VPN to access large parts of the internet at all, as GEO blocks will be put in place.

Do not let this go unnoticed -- share the living shit out of it.

And lastly, to the individuals who believe that NSFW content should be more regulated, and less easy to access: We could argue about this topic all day, but can we please see eye to eye on the simple matter that this specific act is not the way.

None of the artwork there belongs to them, it all created by LauuuuB, who has asked to at least be credited, but the owner of the account keeps ignoring her.

It’s really unfair to repost someone’s work without permission or even a simple link back to them, especially when LauuuuB is totally fine with reposts of her art and just wants it to be done properly. If you love her art (and trust me, it’s amazing!), go follow her directly instead of giving attention to people who steal content. Her page is full of marvellous Polin stuff, support the original artists, not the ones who take credit for their work.
