I thought pan and bi were interchangeable. I was under the impression that they came up with that word, because bisexual carries the the prefix bi, in it which suggests that sexuality is binary. But I always assumed a bi/pansexual could be attracted to a non binary or a trans person. But this is why i stay the hell from these arguments. Forget fictional character the LGBTQ+ community doesn’t even have a consensus on semantics let alone if sexuality is a spectrum, what gender is exactly, how many genders are there. That’s really the heart of these kinds of arguments. Personally I head canon that in the future they’re going to have a hell of a time making fun of this time period, In the ST universe and in this one too. :P

will riker is like. the opposite of a queercoded/baiting character. he’s hetcoded. but both jonathan frakes and all of us know he’s bi af and the show just purposefully only shows the ‘het’ encounters
