Whomesome Headcanon: Q would be unbearably happy if he and Picard ever got together romantically. Unbearable in the way that he is even nice to Worf and Beverly and that even the Continuum does not know how to deal with Q but this is still so much better than having to deal with Q when he is bored. When PIcard really has no time for him he just visits some civilization that he usually torments but instead of doing that he just greets them and says something along the lines of how wonderful love and being alive is.

Needless to say the Enterprise crew is mostly very amused by this, Picard is partly embarrassed because Q does not care who and how many people are there when he is with Picard and the cilvilzations are terrified because they all think Q has lost the last bit of his mind.

I love that so far all Federation interactions with the Q before TNG have been totally harmless, child's play, simple banter while from TNG onwards for Picard and his people it became a game of terror, awkward romance and all at the hands of an ADULT Q IN LOVE WITH THE SHIP CAPTAIN WHO JUST WANTED HIS ATTENTION

it's crazy how by writing q and picard tng perfectly predicted the relationship between a tumblrina and a blorbo. like yeah here is this emotionally constipated middle aged man and the omnipotent homosexual who wants nothing but to put this guy in fucking Predicaments. also the omnipotent homosexual is considered a weirdo by his peers. he is also unemployed. that's a big plotpoint actually
