I just wanted to drop by and say that your art in Falling Leaves of Evergreen Trees made me so happy years ago because Hari looked just like me and I actually started going to the gym because I wanted to be able to do the poses in the pictures. I just found your fic again and saw the art and I thought it was cool that something I saw years ago made such a tangible impact on my life. So thank you. I hope you're doing well.

This message made me so happy!! And it’s amazing if my drawings from Falling Leaves of Evergreen Trees motivated you to go to the gym and try replicate it!!! Did you succeed too? I cross my fingers you did! Nothing works better than to just get started and get better with practise. I am so glad something I drew could have a positive effect for you. Not just because I loved drawing those sketches, but it’s even better to hear they resonated with you. Also, your message made me reminisce, and before I knew it…. I drew a few more x) The first page is new, and the rest are the old sketches. I think I need to start practising poses again, I notice I've gotten rusty.

I haven’t been online much for a very long time, and hardly written or read anything at all for months…. Even if I updated, I was honestly rather burnt out on writing for most of 2024, until it came to an abrupt stop. I didn’t even start my computer unless I absolutely had to for a couple months, and only for other reasons than fandom related things. In truth, my writing motivation is still very much fluctuating. On one day I start thinking it’s coming back, only for it to go away the next. I haven’t read, written or looked at much fan related things since autumn, which is why I haven’t been keeping up with your wonderful narrations.

I absolutely love your work, that hasn’t changed, and I have every intentions to come back to it. Regardless if you keep doing it or stop, I mean to catch up with everything you’ve posted. I am sorry I haven’t been able to do that lately, but I have been burnt out on Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon. That is a story that’s been taking up large portions of my head-space since 2022. Though it wasn’t just that one. I was very fed up with everything I had ever written for a while there.

However… I think it’s lessening. I sometimes need these breaks from writing/fandoms and focus on something else, and then after a break, I usually come back with renewed energy. Since new years, I have actually been writing a little bit again, and it doesn’t feel as much like a chore anymore.

I actually did listen to one of your recordings, hoping it’d give me inspiration and boost my motivation to get back into writing. It didn’t quite work, because it was still my own story, and I think I was still a bit too fatigued on it when I tried listening, but please don’t think that’s about your work! I absolutely loved the way you narrated the chapter, you give the characters so much personality. The background music that now flows effortlessly between scenes (I am very impressed with your use of music) not to mention the sound effects (I was really impressed when I could actually hear dragons roaring and making a ruckus in the background of the scenes). You really do great work with those readings, and I am crossing my fingers that this writing/reading/fandom block will lessen soon, because one of the first thing I’ll do is listening to your narrations to get back into things.

I hope you’re doing well, and that you’re more inspired than me! I saw someone else left a comment regarding your readings too on one of my chapters, even if it sounded as if they’d experienced the story by listening instead of reading, and I 100% agree with their praise and assessment of your readings. I hope you had a good holiday Najex, and that the start of 2025 has been good for you.

Perfect characterisation and I truly appreciate how well the racism/bigotry is being portrayed considering so many fics tend to ignore the reality of it all by just saying that the Dark side are 'misunderstood'. hello!! i’m so excited for the next update, when do u think it’ll come? no pressure!!

You sent this message over a month ago… and I still haven’t updated. I am sorry for both the late reply and how the next chapter is taking ages. I am struggling with motivation, as well as distractions in my daily life which has slowed things down, but well… I am working on it. I really am, but I can’t post it before I’m pleased with what’s written, and it’s been giving me a lot of trouble for reasons I can’t quite understand myself.

Though if you want some exact numbers, then know I’ve written 6k words for the chapter so far. That’s a decent chapter length if you only count words alone, but I’m still missing a scene/need to add stuff so the chapter includes all the events I want covered before it’s ready to be posted.

would any other hp character make an appearance in westeros?

No, as fun as it is to imagine and explore some more HP character stumble into the mess that is Westerosi politics, that doesn’t fit in with the plot I have for Never Tickle. The premise of the initial conflict has always been that Hariel and Hagrid – alone and without aid – must sort out their situation. It's why they've resorted to diplomacy and compromises they normally might not have agreed to, because they have no Plan B at all. No alternatives or escapes or aid unlooked for but what they earn and work for themselves. That means they won’t get help from the HP world, for better and worse. Worse, because it means none of their friends can ever help them, and better, because HP’s enemies can’t reach them either.
