RP Plot Idea
So another plot idea has taken hold of me!
A slow-burn plot where our muses have complicated history (academic rivals in college, lovers but it never worked out, relationship that ended badly, etc) and are brought together again in the strangest of ways. Both work for a counterintelligence agency and are paired together for their complimentary strengths/weaknesses, having no idea of the other being in the same profession until now. They’re paired together for a desk surveillance job that unexpectedly escalates into an undercover field job in a whole other country. Now they have to figure that mess out while sorting their own personal messes and history out.
I’m thinking the undercover job involves some sort of faked romantic relationship whether that be marriage or dating, and maybe they’re tracking a double agent who’s also undercover. Specific details can be discussed and changed in dms!
I’d prefer to play female, with your muse being either m or f or nb! I’d prefer (long-term) partners and characters to be 18+. I'm open to smut being a complimentary factor to the roleplay, as long as it doesn't overshadow the plot! Check out my pinned post, dm me if you’re interested, and we can chat before moving to discord!

Just a little Plot Idea
So what if muse a and muse b are married, and muse a finds muse b murdering someone (maybe even someone they both know). Muse b fully prepares for muse a to call the police, but instead. . they’re getting a mop and. .helping clean up the blood?? This wasn’t what muse b expected. Their relationship wasn’t going too well after five years of marriage, with constant fights and tension.
I imagine the rp continuing with them trying to cover up the murder, maybe trying to frame someone else, or maybe. .betrayal? All while trying to fix their relationship in the process. I love all the angsty and hurt/comfort possibilities this plot has and can’t wait to explore them!
I’d prefer to play muse b as female, with muse a being either m or f or nb! I’d prefer (long-term) partners and characters to be 18+. I'm open to smut being a complimentary factor to the roleplay, as long as it doesn't overshadow the plot! after eight years, I finally updated my huge Historical Fashion Reference & Resources Doc! Now in the form of a MUCH more easily updated Google Doc with better organization, refreshed links, and five more pages of books and online resources.
I know tumblr hates links, but it’s worth it for a doc that I can now update with far more regularity going forward! RIP to the original, you did your duty for far longer than you should have. 😔🙏🏼

Could you give me some ideas for currencies and the measurement of time, preferably both in a more dark fantasy setting involved with nature?
Currency and Time Measurement in a Dark Fantasy Setting
-> feel free to edit as you see fit.
Currencies
Leaf Coins: Thin, pressed coins made from the leaves of sacred trees. The type of leaf determines the coin's value, with rarer leaves being more valuable.
Bloodstones: A currency made from dark red gemstones that are said to be formed from the blood of fallen warriors.
Shadowshards: Small, dark crystals that absorb light and shimmer with a ghostly glow. They are collected at dusk and are traded as currency, often used in shadowy dealings. The more shadow a shard absorbs, the higher its worth.
Grave Dirt: A unique form of currency, this is literally dirt taken from sacred burial grounds. It is believed to contain the power of the dead. Merchants trade small pouches of it, and its value increases based on how many souls it has been touched by.
Wyrm Scales: Scales from mythical serpents that once roamed the land. Each scale has a distinct pattern and is highly valued due to its rarity and the protective magic it is said to bestow upon its holder.
Fungal Credits: Small, luminescent fungi that can be harvested at certain times of the year. Their glow indicates their value.
Measurement of Time
Moon Phases: Time is measured in moon phases, with each cycle representing a month. Each phase is associated with different rituals and events in nature, such as the “Blood Moon” for harvest and the “Waning Moon” for reflection and atonement.
Nightfall Cycles: Instead of days, time is counted in cycles of nightfall, where each cycle is divided into periods marked by darkness and light. A cycle may last for varying lengths of time based on seasonal changes, with longer nights in winter.
Sundrop Hours: Each hour is marked by the position of a special sundial that has been enchanted to reflect the essence of the sun. During certain times, the sundial emits a soft glow, indicating a magical time when rituals can be performed.
Eclipses: Significant events are measured by the number of eclipses that have occurred since a pivotal moment in history.
Blood Seasons: Time is divided into seasons based on nature’s cycles and the harvesting of life. For example, “Bloomspring,” “Darksummer,” “Crimsonfall,” and “Frostbite,” with each season lasting as long as it takes for specific plants to grow or animals to thrive.
Night’s Breath: This measures time through the cycles of natural events, such as the sounds of nocturnal creatures or the rustling of leaves in the wind. Each breath is a period marked by significant changes in the environment, like the blooming of nocturnal flowers.

— 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓. a character template psd.
cold comfort is a 540x340 character template designed with d&d/bg3 in mind but easily tweaked! i just threw this lil guy together quite quickly this morning, so if something feels wonky, my apologies! cc uses the font horence for the funky-fresh/stylized text and calibri for the rest. feel free to move things around and fit it to your needs! the events section could easily be turned into a playlist, the relationships into an aesthetic section, etc.
image is from unsplash, icons are from flaticon (except for the moon, i made that) - make sure to attribute your icons appropriately if you keep the ones that are in the template currently.
this is a free template, so all i ask is that you credit me if you use it. as always, feel free to tag me when you use it; i’d love to see your creations. if you like what i do and would like to support me, i have a ko-fi!

subtle ways to include foreshadowing
one character knowing something offhandedly that they shouldn't, isn't addressed until later
the crow rhyme
colours!! esp if like, blue is evil in your world and the mc's best friend is always noted to wear blue...betrayal?
write with the ending in mind
use patterns from tragic past events to warn of the future
keep the characters distracted! run it in the background until the grand reveal
WEATHER.
do some research into Chekhov's gun
mention something that the mc dismisses over and over
KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU PUT. don't leave things hanging.
unreliable characters giving information that turn out to be true
flowers and names with meanings
anything with meanings actually
metaphors. if one character describes another as "a real demon" and the other turns out to be the bad guy, you're kind of like...ohhh yeahhh
anyways add anything else in the tags
