My thoughts on Wrath of The Triple Goddess (Light Spoilers)
Just finished the book and ngl, very underwhelming. I know the stakes are supposed to be low and stuff but even Chalice was better with the threat of Elisson and Geras. Running around looking for the pets and fighting those two naiads wasn't cutting it for me. It honestly just feels very superficial and repetitive.
One of my biggest gripes with this trilogy so far is the lack of any real aftermath of what Percy and Annabeth went through in Tartarus, or any other of their experiences (Arachne?) . Like seriously, there's almost nothing beyond the odd mention. I could get better character development and insight from a AO3 fanfic ffs.
And not to mention, as someone who likes seeing the action part of the verse (I love TLO, SoN, and HoH partially for this reason), this book was really disappointing. The fight scenes are few and far in between and most of the time Percy is passing out, getting incapacitated by potions, getting turned into an octopus, etc etc. This should be prime Percy but he fights worse than he did in The Lightning Thief.
Not to seem overly negative, however. There were some sweet Percabeth moments in here I enjoyed. That quip Grover made about Percy's low GPA was legitimately funny. And I enjoyed the little cameos from Mrs. O'Leary, Connor Stoll, Jupiter, Chiron, and a few others. I hope I don't sound too harsh because I don't think my standards are that high anyways, seeing as I thoroughly enjoyed Chalice.

Some problems in TSATS
I finished the book a day or two ago and personally it was alright. I didn't find Nico as out of character as some people are saying but I also found some of his behavior a little confusing. My main problem though, were some of the loose ends and continuity issues.
One of the biggest questions I had that wasn't answered by this book: How did Bob and Damasen escape? The last we saw of them before this, they were fighting Tartarus and losing. The same Tartarus who demonstrated that he could consume the essence of immortals like he did against Krios and Hyperion.
So then, how did Bob escape this and instead end up in the clutches of Nyx? Rick didn't really give any explanation for this in the book.
The other big question: Damasen. What happened to him? We get a sentence or two of explanation in the book. Here's what Meneotes tells Nico:
ā€˜I hope Damasen has regenerated. He was killed fighting the drakon, but if he has been reborn, I am sure he would love to help you.’ (SaTS)
But this explanation doesn't even make sense. In House of Hades, Damasen changes his fate by befriending the drakon instead of fighting it.
"The Maeonian drakon spread its frilled collar and hissed, its poison breath filling the battlefield with the smell of pine and ginger. It shifted its hundred-foot-long body, flicking its dappled green tail and wiping out a battalion of ogres. Riding on its back was a red-skinned giant with flowers in his rust-coloured braids, a jerkin of green leather and a drakon-rib lance in his hand. ā€˜Damasen!’ Annabeth cried. The giant inclined his head. ā€˜Annabeth Chase, I took your advice. I chose myself a new fate.’" (HoH)
So, how did everything change? Why did the drakon start fighting again? No explanation is given and Damasen is revealed to not have regenerated yet so he's left behind in Tartarus.
Besides these two loose ends, there's another continuity issue relating to Bianca. Near the end of SaTS, Nico is allowed by Hades to talk to the spirits of Maria and Bianca.
"ā€˜Where you went?’ Nico raised an eyebrow at Bianca. ā€˜How is she here, then? How are you here? Aren’t you in Elysium?’ ā€˜I am,’ said Bianca. ā€˜But the two of us … We were granted one last visit with you.’" (SaTS)
Nico asks if Bianca is in Elsyium and she confirms it. But this just can't be true based on what he said in SoN.
ā€˜Where you went?’ Nico raised an eyebrow at Bianca. ā€˜How is she here, then? How are you here? Aren’t you in Elysium?’ ā€˜I am,’ said Bianca. ā€˜But the two of us … We were granted one last visit with you.’
This isn't as big of a deal, probably just a mistake on Rick's part, but when I read it I knew something was wrong.
Overall the book was entertaining and I'd probably give it a 6-6.5

What are diamonds?
Diamond is one of the most valuable natural resources, especially in weight because many people in developing countries are forced to mine for these in dangerous areas. Many of these countries use diamonds for revenue for essential needs {especially Zimbabwe and African countries}. They are usually mined in mines, and are used for different sources.Ā

An issue that more people should talk about.
Diamond’s Affect on the Environment
Diamonds have an awful impact on the environment. They cause deforestation, soil erosion and ecosystem destruction. There are rare type diamonds known as Blood Diamonds that are mined in a war zone facility, this is extremely dangerous for the people mining in these places. The fuels and electricity used are also a hazard to the environment. The hazardous chemicals cause fog, climate change, etc.

Thanks :D
It's kind of sad how little people I know on Tumblr but..... @repunzee
Right back at you.
Hey besties here’s a fun challenge: reblog this and tag people you’re grateful for because we all have those people who bless our dash and I feel like spreading some positivity today. No number, tag as many or as few people as you like ā™„ļø take this as a chance to thank the people whose blogs are sooo nice but that you know you’ll never actually talk to, or the people you talk to every single day! Doesn’t matter!

Percy shakes a glacier
I know I’ve already done a post on the Hubbard Glacier thing but there’s another part that I didn’t mention.
Then he slammed Riptide into the ice at his feet. The entire glacier shuddered.
This part specifically. Percy shakes the entire glacier. And let’s just say Hubbard Glacier is big.Ā
Tumblr media
76 miles long. 7 miles wide. 600 feet tall. When i said Hubbard Glacier was big, I meant really big.Ā
I’m no expert on math but if we’re trying to find how much Percy shook we should find the volume of the glacier (ThanksĀ https://repunzee.tumblr.com/)
And with the help of a calculator I got 60.46 miles cubed.Ā Let me say that again, Percy shook 60.46 miles of glacier.Ā
Here are some more quotes to prove the size of the glacier
ā€œNo,ā€ Hazel said. ā€œIce cracking and shifting. Millions of tons of ice.ā€
When they were about fifty yards from the base, a thunderclap rattled Hazel’s bones, and a curtain of ice that would have covered Camp Jupiter calved away and fell toward them.
So just a part of the glacier would’ve fully covered Camp Jupiter, which is pretty big.Ā
Before Hazel could change her mind, she urged Arion through the gates. The layout was so familiar—cohort barracks, baths, armory. It was an exact replica of Camp Jupiter, except three times as big. Even on horseback, Hazel felt tiny and insignificant, as if they were moving through a model city constructed by the gods.
Here’s even more evidence the glacier is in fact larger than Camp Jupiter.Ā
I think I’ve proven my point. Whether you want to call it 60.46 miles cubed, millions of tons of ice, or significantly larger than Camp Jupiter, there’s no denying the feat was amazing. And what makes it even more impressive?
Still, Percy couldn’t fight off that many enemies forever. Maintaining a storm like that had to be difficult. Despite the cold, his face was already beaded with sweat.
Percy nodded understanding, but he looked worn out. His hurricane was slowing down. His strikes were getting slower. The entire ghostly army had him surrounded, gradually forcing him toward the edge of the glacier.
Through the ruins of the camp, he saw Percy with his back to the edge of the cliff. His hurricane was gone. He held Riptide in one hand and the legion’s golden eagle in the other. The entire army of shades edged forward, their weapons bristling.
He was exhausted.
Did Percy shake a 60.46 miles cubed glacier while tired? Yes
Is this so much more impressive than other feats that it should be considered an outlier and inconsistent with his regular power levels? Probably
Is it still one of the most dam impressive feats in the entire series? Hell yes.Ā

Percy’s Glacier Feat
I know Percy can be somewhat overrated by some people but I don’t see many talking about this feat:
ā€œThen [Percy] slammed Riptide into the ice at his feet. The entire glacier shuddered. Ghosts fell to their knees. Behind Percy, a wave of gray water even taller than the glacier. Water shot from the chasms and crevices in the ice. As the water hit, the back half of the camp crumbled. The entire edge of the glacier peeled away, cascading into the void-carrying buildings, ghosts, and Percy Jackson over the edge.ā€ (The Son of Neptune).Ā Ā
Tumblr media
To start, the wave is described asĀ ā€œeven taller than the glacierā€. Hubbard Glacier is 350 ft above the waterline (as shown in the above picture). So the wave is anywhere from 351 to possibly 450 at most. I think 400 is a fair guess. So he summoned a 400 ft wave. Very impressive. There’s some stuff that makes him even more impressive though.Ā
The only remains on the glacier were the main gates, which listed sideways, and a tattered blue banner lying over a pile of snow-bricks.
As you can see from this, Percy destroyed all of the camp with that wave.
The horse stopped. Ahead of them stood a frozen Roman camp like a giant-sized ghastly replica of Camp Jupiter. The trenches bristled with ice spikes. The snow-brick ramparts glared blinding white. Hanging from the guard towers, banners of frozen blue cloth shimmered in the arctic sun.
And the camp was a giant sized replica of Camp Jupiter, which is really big.Ā
And if you want a closer estimate of the damage, here’s this:
PERCY WAS WAITING FOR THEM. He looked mad. He stood at the edge of the glacier, leaning on the staff with the golden eagle, gazing down at the wreckage he’d caused: several hundred acres of newly open water dotted with icebergs and flotsam from the ruined camp.
So Percy summoned a 400 ft wave that destroyed a giant version of CJ (or several hundred acres) within seconds. That’s one of the most, if not the greatest feats in the series.Ā
But to top it all off...
He was exhausted during all of that.
