(messing around with an Eldritch Being Tommy AU where he is Light itself and he eats shadows, pure metal, and sometimes people depending on his mood. He also vomits swords occasionally because one of his favourite humans, Techno, likes them and he cannot technically digest the metal he swallows anyway.)

OK i was talking to someone in 'Fanfiction Writer's Unite' but i'm proud of my research so...take this

(character was rich, got injured, needed an injury that would take a few month to recover from, was was not fatal, he was able to ride away on horseback and was Renaissance-time medication)

I did some research, this is what i said:

Deep laceration or muscle tear to the thigh or calf (with possible bone bruising or hairline fracture). Recovery time (with swelling) would be 2-4 months, non-fatal unless an artery is severed. He would need stitches, but since he's rich, he could have access to that medical care easily.

If you want to do realistic healing for the time period, they would use wine, water, or vinegar to clean/flush out the wound; they could use a shit tonne of things for the stitches, like silk, flax, hemp, bark fibre, and even animal materials like catgut (made from animal intestines); and they would use honey, myrrh, yarrow, and/or sage to try and prevent infection on it!

Also, some ideas for injuries: A slash across the hamstring would cause intense pain, spasms, proneness to tearing again, and months of rehab. A stab to the calf muscle would cause swelling, instability, and difficulty balancing with a limp highly likely. Blunt trauma to the thigh from a fall or a horse’s hoof would have deep bruising, muscle rupture, and maybe a tiny fracture. No external wound, but constant pain and weeks of immobility. idk why i just focused on leg wounds, but I hope whatever your writing goes well!!

Lowkey I know some people read my platonic/found family fics and read it as a ship fic and I honestly don't care to much abt it.

I don't ship it; it's not something I enjoy or want to be involved in, but at the same time, as long as it isn't harming anyone IRL and you're not harassing people, I don't mind!!

I'm never going to harass, belittle, or insult anyone for being into that kind of thing, even if I don't agree with it or enjoy it myself. You're into your things, I'm into mine, we stay on your corners of the internet, and it's all good!!

But PLEASE do NOT comment that you read it as a ship fic????? Why would you tell me, the author, who explicitly stated this was platonic, that YOU READ IT AS A SHIP?

Why would you go out of your way to let me know you specifically read this fic I wrote (that was written to be a brotherly or father-son relationship) in a romantic sense when I state on most of my fics it's written with a platonic intent?

It just feels like you're spitting in my face, like genuinely.

But to anyone who reads my works as ships, please DO NOT tell me that. I don't want to know that, and if you tell me, I'll just block or mute you on AO3. Please, keep it to yourself.

I don't usuallyyy write self-inserts, but if you'd like, I could write Techno comforting a character (e.g., Tommy or Ranboo) who is gender fluid? (I write Tommy as FTM sometimes, so it wouldn't be a stretch to make them genderfluid and Ranboo...like...doesn't have Gender, so again it would be an easy switch!)

That way, you can still read a fic w/ Techno doing that, and I can write a fic that I could do properly (I'm unsure of self-insert fics in general lol)

I hate getting deadnamed it honestly feels sooo humilating to have that name called out in my class, it genuinely ruins my entire day and makes me feel SO self concious.

It's even worse when It's a teacher who I've known a while or really look up to and I KNOW they're just reading the roll but i've been here 3 years and you've been teaching longer, how are you not used to kids having nicknames on the roll??
