her friends didnt get why she wanted to go to law school but supported her anyway, and helped her study

How I Use OneNote for University

Hey, all! I thought I’d share how I use OneNote, for any students who might want to use it for school organization. I have used this since the beginning of my university career and have found a method that works for me, after nearly three years.

I provide templates for what I use as .one files that can be imported into OneNote, and you’re free to use & modify them however you wish.

As a student with learning disabilities, I found that using a computer, rather than writing everything out, is the best method for me to learn. I type up notes in class so as to not worry about keeping up with a professor, handwriting, or neatness. OneNote is my favourite note-taking application for this, because it’s essentially an upgraded version of Word that’s free and syncs automatically across devices. When my computer crashed, I was still able to access my notes online.

OneNote isn’t all typing. You can use it on a tablet or use a drawing tablet, in my case, to handwrite notes for a more natural feel. A very efficient way of taking notes is to import the lectures slides in OneNote and to write directly on them. I found that very useful in math-heavy courses, such as statistics and chemistry. The equation tool, while nifty, isn’t efficient.

By no means whatsoever is this the only way to use OneNote! In fact, I’d recommend you find a way that works for you, because while this may be highly organized, it takes a bit of set-up time and is tailored specifically to my needs. You can use my example as inspiration, but play around with it! The beauty of OneNote is that it can be used in a variety of different ways.

you forgot that you are spending your entire golden years, 18 until 30, basically working up to 80 hours a week. Relationships are almost impossible. but the social capital youll get as a male doctor in your 30s makes up for that. Being a female doctor makes it much harder because you can only wait so long to have kids, male doctors can just marry someone 6 or 7 years younger than themselves and not have to rush everything. I know a couple male doctors that married young early 20's nurses.

sooo yes being a female doctor (or being female in most professions really) puts me at a disadvantage compared to male doctors of the same socio-economic/ethnic etc. background. but I have thought long and hard about the pros and cons of studying med and being a doctor before i applied, and i decided that pros outweighed the cons. it’s all down to the individual - yes long and anti-social hours will be hard, so will making relationships work, but med is not the only profession that is true for. i made my decision for me and me only… and so i hope you don’t apply to study med because you sound quite negative about it in general. side note: not all women want to have children.

If I had only one piece of study advice to pass on, it would be constant summary pages. Every week or two, take one side of A4 and write down everything important by hand from that period. It might take 5 minutes, it might take 30. Either way, when that exam burnout sets in, you will thank yourself. Don’t use the pages as exhaustive study - use them as a contents page for your revision, or as a checklist to see what you do or don’t remember.

With the new semester starting up soon, I was getting a lot of requests to release 2018 versions of my printable calendars! Like my 2017 versions, there are three design options, different colours (blue, green, grey, purple, peach, pink), and the option of a Monday or Sunday start date.  

For ease, I’ve created entire Google Drive folders for each design (version one being the top, two being the middle, and three the bottom), then separated by their starting day. This review is GLOWING!!! I am more than excited to pick this up tonight 💜💜

5 ⭐️ I luuuuuurved this book! There were so many important themes in this book, from arranged marriage - personally, I didn’t know this happened in Western countries and I’m very happy this book opened my eyes to it - to “every day” feminism (“Heyyy. We’re just as good as you guys.” “Well, maybe you need to expand your idea of how girls behave,” are just a couple of quotes I highlighted, and RISHI is so supportive as well and fully believes in all of the girls’ ability in such a stereotypically male-dominated sector such as coding and I’m so appreciate of that 👏🏼 ) to anxiety, which I cannot express how delighted I was for the representation.

Dimple is definitely one of my favourite female characters of this year, she’s her own person and SO. PETTY. Even though she’s completely against the concept of having a boyfriend, never mind a fiancée, when she has so much more important things to think about (I can relate), she’s not horribly mean to Rishi (okay… after that first incident she’s not horribly mean to Rishi) which I am v happy about bc I LOVE Rishi.

Is there a fan club for Rishi yet?? I will be the one holding the light up sign saying something like “LOVE 4 RISHI” bc this boy, is what my dreams are made of. Even though Dimple clearly having no interest in him hurts him, he is ever the gentleman and is just there for her, but not pursuing her and waiting for her consent at every step of the way which is so important to me - more boys like that pls. I love how he refers to Dimple so passionately and he truly sees the best in her, “he could definitely see her being born with lava in her veins,” who he wished he could “keep in his pocket.” As well as his relationship with Dimple, his relations with his mother, father and brother are really telling - being the eldest, he feels responsibility to do what is right for the whole, not just for himself, and the character/relationship development between him and his brother was something I totally didn’t expect (and should probably relate to me and my sister haha).

The plot was definitely fuelled by the romance and not the other way around, which I am not complaining about but just bare that in mind if you don’t want sweet, blossoming romance between teens in a foreign city with a deadline on their days together ❤️

I would hope that being an own voices novel, Menon would provide characters and a culture that South Asian YA readers would feel comfortable in and be able to relate to - I am not South Asian so can’t speak of how true the culture was, but with the abundant use of an Indian language (I’m not sure which? I know “Indian” isn’t a language though), and the recurring themes of Bollywood, and the culture found in their love of foods etc, the culture seemed very immersive but fused with the more recognisable and less interesting American scene.

I’m so happy I read this book, thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing me with a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been pretty busy for the past two weeks and its been a while since I’ve posted anything. Finally found some time to relax today and decided to make some changes to my study space, I guess I’m going for an autumn black/gold/white theme? ( special thanks to @emmastudies for the wall art!) 

I also really like this page of my hobonichi..I’ve been using it as a bullet journal/planner/sketchbook/journal and so far it’s been working out pretty well!

A new studyblr!

So I’ve actually had a studyblr for a few months but I ended up having to make a new one and this is it!
