Fandoms stopped being a fun escape from reality when people started spreading the belief that you should prioritize purity over pleasure and the art you create must be a reflection of your moral standards at all times.

There is also that petty part of me that loves to see all this collaboration because how are the people who pit D20/CR against each other going to justify this

I haven't said a lot about the C4 announcement because I've been too busy updating the wiki and talking in DMs, but I'm really excited!
Given that I felt that C3 was promising in concept but ultimately mid in execution with a very disastrous structure narratively, and I did feel (and kept privately until I could see what the going forward was) that Matt seemed burned out to me, especially starting around the 50s. Giving this opportunity for Matt to take a back seat while still being involved is promising, as is the choice to step back from Exandria for long-form at minimum for now.
Even though Exandria is in a really interesting moment at the end of C3, it is a bit of a bummer to only get glimpses of it through short-form one-shots — and I hope they do return at some point, even if for miniseries — but I do feel there was a built up wariness of damaging or scuffing Exandria too much within the production as a collective. "Giving a breather" is exactly the sort of thing I hoped for both Matt and Exandria after the production had a chance to do a look-back / debrief / post-mortem.
I think a lot of the flaws of C3 were entirely fixable and that the core concept of the campaign and its story, and ultimately its arc and resolution, were perfectly fine. I think there was a lack of alignment of intent and a struggle to coordinate toward that intent, especially toward Matt's intent that he did not share from the outset (thus making it difficult to prep into that space and work toward it from square one), that was exacerbated by that timidity and preciousness of the setting as a whole, further compounded by what felt like a decreased capacity for Matt to handle and rein in and think through and carry all the threads and weave them together, or to realize when cast members were asking him to throw them a line or not noticing his communication of narrative intent was muddled. Taking a break from the setting and working with a new long-form GM — and new cast members! — and allowing Matt a break from GMing will hopefully start to remedy that.
It's also an exciting opportunity for Brennan to GM more long-form, as he's to my knowledge only done WBN for long-form actual play. And the production goal and stylistic intent will be different from WBN (Moore imagines that as narrative-play, don't get me started), so should be fun as well.
It's precisely what I wanted to see from them as a production and creative choice, and I'm quite excited.

The next addition to my series of Bells Hells in historical art styles (I know I’m pushing it with the word “historical,” here)- Dorian Storm in the style of Yoshitaka Amano.
I can’t say enough about the work of Amano. His influence on the areas of illustration, character design, and fine art are immeasurable. Here’s a couple examples of his truly massive body of work-

I mean, what else is there to say? Dimension 20 - On A Bus was one of the greatest first episodes of D20 to date. Incredible players, stellar setting, and AMAZING DM-ing by Katie! For a first time running a game, she absolutely NAILED it. I had my doubts, but if there's anyone who can fill Brennan's American Girl Shoes, it's her. @dropoutdottv @dimension20official @gamechangershow, if you need someone to do character art for the new season, I'm your man!
(And to everyone else, I do actual D&D commissions if you're interested)
