Valentine’s Day
Did you know that Valentine’s Day originates from the ancient roman festival of Lupercalia. “Lupercalia is a fertility celebration that was commemorated on February 15th. Pope Gelasius I recast this pagan festival as a Christian Feast Day; declaring February 14th, as St. Valentine’s Day.”
Growing up, I honestly thought Valentine’s Day was just a day to show your appreciation of someone you love or to tell someone you like them; kind of a day of confessing your love to someone. Hence why, whenever I received a Valentine’s Day card from any of my friends that were girls, it seemed kinda weird to me.
But now that I look back on that, and as I look at it now, I know corporations have taken this day for granted. Originally supposed to be a day of celebrating fertility and love, it’s now a day of spending money to romance that special someone.
Chocolate’s have the highest sales on Valentine’s Day. As do Hallmark cards and most of the time lingerie. Anything really that has to do with this day of love, has gone up in sales and price. But why this day? Because Valentine’s Day is for procrastinators; last minute appreciation people, and businesses to make more money. I’m NOT saying everyone is a procrastinator. But corporations are using this day and making it look like you HAVE to buy something red and pink and romantic and chocolate and sexy for someone you love because “everyone celebrates it”, and most people would get offended if it wasn’t celebrated with them. You don’t need to buy expensive things or a day like Valentine’s Day to show someone you care and love for them. You have any day to every day to do that.
When I think of this day, all I see are dollar signs. It makes me not want to celebrate it. But honestly, I love getting roses, chocolates, and gifts this one day because if it weren’t for a day like Valentine’s Day, or really any celebratory day, there would be no need to decorate cookies with hearts and be girly by wearing pink or dressing up without having people asking you questions about why you’re dressed up because you never dress up. It’s nice having a day where you can do those things and not feel obligated to explain why you’re doing those things and people can just say “Oh, it’s Valentine’s Day.”

Back Pain
If you have back pain, any back spasms to be exact, where the pain comes and goes in one spot and radiates elsewhere, I know how to help a little. I've had back pain since I started my job last summer. But I was also in a car accident and a ride at my job flung me back when it took off so my back hit the seat. When I got off the ride my legs were tingly and numb feeling. I knew something was up. Anyways, I had such a bad experience the first time the back spasm came. It's always a bad experience but it almost put me in the hospital because I didn't know what it was. Over time, I've learned to manage it. I'm sure I have a herniated disc because it swells in one spot on my spine and hurts and then all of a sudden I have a back spasm next to my spine, radiating to my ribs and stomach. What I do is the hot/cold method. Except, I leave out the cold. I jump into the shower for a good 10-20 minutes, letting the water hit the spots the pain is radiating to. I either do a lot of moving in the shower if it's hurting everywhere and not stopping, or I stand there and let it hit only the back spasm and spine/neck. Usually the pain is FAR less than what I felt before I got into the shower but sometimes one shower isn't enough. So I'll relax for about 10-20 minutes or at least if it's not as severe as before I do. Otherwise I immediately jump back in to the shower for 10 more minutes. Then, this is also crucial, I know it will hurt and you want to curl up into a ball and spread out and stretch. Don't. Lay straight on your back. Make sure your head/neck is supported and relax. Try to fall asleep. When I wake up, it's like it never happened. You could also try 800mg Ibuprofen..the strong white horse pills. You need a prescription for those but the equivalent to that is 4 regular motrins. (I take 2 only if it is just starting to hurt and I know I'll wake up. I don't like taking medicine. I like natural ways that won't hurt my body.) There's also massaging. I literally pressed on my back spasm once and it was gone. I don't recommend pushing on it. But a massage would NOT hurt. And that is all. Thought I'd share my knowledge because I can't sleep because this back spasm keeps waking me up spasming randomly and disappearing for a long period of time.

*I have received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.*
💕 Bonjour, Loveys! 💕
I have received three VoxBox’s in the mail already so I’ve been a very busy bee testing everything. One of the VoxBox’s was the COVERGIRL VoxBox which included the Super Sizer Mascara and the Intensify Me Eyeliner.
The Super Sizer Mascara is huge compared to all of my other mascaras and really enhance my eyelashes. It makes the eyelashes super bold and enhanced it almost looks like you’re wearing falsies! The bristles even comb through the lashes to prevent clumps. This COVERGIRL mascara is absolutely my favorite!
The Intensify Me Eyeliner is fairly good as well. The problem for me when it comes to this liquid eyeliner is the fact that it does not dry quickly so after 5 seconds for me, it was still a little wet and was smudged a bit over my eye lid while I had put on eyeshadow. I probably put a lot on when I attempted to do the winged eyeliner look again. Other than that, it’s pretty good when it comes to the boldness of the line and how dark it is. You know how some liner’s you have to shake because it gets like a watery texture and does not make the liner bold enough? Well, this does not do that. It’s very bold but definitely give it about 10 seconds or so to dry - depending on how intense you drew the line.
I absolutely love COVERGIRL! So, yes, these are definitely a must buy for this summer. Especially if you like bold looks. :)
Influenster is a pretty freaking awesome community of people who love receiving brand new products for free to test and review! You should try it out! Become an influenster today! :)
💋 Au Revoir!

This post is pretty important.
Not as important as a puppy being born but important enough to be talked about.
As you know, or maybe you don't know, I try a LOT of acne products. Now, my acne isn't severe. In fact, I barely get acne and when I do, the culprit is usually sugar and artificial foods. But there's also my hormonal acne which comes and goes. But I actually have more scars than I do acne.
Everyone has seen those Proactiv commercials. If you haven't, where have you been?
The product did wonders for my face and even left me glowing. I had no problems with it whatsoever. Besides the fact that it was a three step system, I had no problemo. Well, I did get lazy and stop using the three steps.
Anywho, for those of you who has purchased Proactiv in the past know about the ridiculous credit card charges.
All I see on the internet about Proactiv are reviews about the stupid credit card charges and what problems people have with their credit cards. It's rare for me to find a solid review about the product itself and how effective it is.
Well, here's a tip: DO NOT BUY PROACTIV WITH YOUR PERSONAL CREDIT CARD. USE A GIFT CREDIT CARD LIKE VANILLA VISA. The gift credit cards are sold at CVS and you can get a card that allows you to put any amount. If you know the exact amount for Proactiv and what shipping costs with it and what the exact total cost would be, put that on your card. Otherwise, if you have enough for two shipments, they could charge you for two shipments.
I haven't had a problem with them shipping past cancellation on my dads card, but we did have to cancel it because they tend to want their money and they send the boxes before the month supply is up.
Besides the credit card problems and it being more than one step, it really is a great product for my skin. Well, the old Proactiv was. I just ordered my Proactiv+ Teen Kit plus Free Gift VitaClear on Friday. I'm hoping the product will work wonders with my skin as it has done in the past.
Everyone's skin is different. So, even if a product works wonders for someone you know, there's always a chance it won't work for you.
For example, the Mary Kay acne line works perfect for someone I know but when I tried it, after the second use, my skin flared up like cherry tomato. Which sparked my theory that I'm allergic to Salicylic Acid. Or my skin is just really sensitive.
If you do plan to buy Proactiv+, and it is your first time buying it, do NOT ignore that little chat bubble that pops up when you're on the page to buy one of the kits. Ask them questions. If you don't know what to ask, you can ask these:
How much Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid are in the products?
How soon would the average teenager see a difference after using the product?
Do they automatically charge my card before the next shipment?
How do I cancel the other shipments?
What is the difference between the original Proactiv and Proactiv+?
What exactly is VitaClear? (For those who selected the free gift or if it's still the free gift)
Is VitaClear sold through Proactiv? (Maybe ask if you could cancel the VitaClear monthly subscription through them or how you could cancel it)
What is the difference between the TeenKit and the other kits?
Is it for combination skin?
If I don't have sufficient funds on my card, they won't automatically ship or charge it, correct? (I asked this because I wanted to make sure they wouldn't take what's left on my card and send me something else)
(Ask any other questions you might have)
Don't be afriad to ask anything else. There is a real person at the other end of of that and they have all of the information you'll probably want to know about the products.
That's it for today, Loveys!
Hopefully I'll get my Proactiv+ Teen Kit before the end of next week so i could start reviewing it everyday for a month. :)
Au revoir!

Celestial Seasonings Taste Test
*I have received this product complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.* As you all would know, my blogs are anonymous like. I've only shared my identity once and then I said forget it. I'm just gonna put my mask back on. So, I WOULD do a video tasting this wonderful tea flavored Candy Cane Lane, but that would take away the mystery a little bit. Instead I'll do a step by step taste test of the tea. After boiling the tea water for what seemed to be forever, the whistling of the kettle finally blew. I carefully grabbed my cup out of the cabinet and placed it down on the counter beside the hot kettle, imagining the taste of this Celestial Seasonings Tea I haven't had yet. I opened the packet and I was suddenly struck with a minty sweet smell. I couldn't wait to try it. I poured the freshly boiled water into the tea cup and on too of the tea bag. The steam coming from the cup met my nose with complete bliss. Celestial Seasonings has always been my favorite tea brand. They have yet to let me down but I don't think they ever will. Picking up the cup, not wanting to wait for the tea to cool down, the hot minty sweet-like liquid met my lips and then it struck my taste buds like cupid's arrow. It was love at first sight. This Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea is fantastic! I love it, love it, love it! Another wonderful flavor to add to my collection of Celestial Seasonings Teas.

Review! (Again) ((Same One))
*I have received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster!* Hello, Loveys! I, have yet again, been chosen to receive a wonderful box of goodies from Influenster! In this VoxBox, I have received: 💟 No7 Perfect & Perfect ADVANCED sachet (Full Sized: $22.99) 💟 Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover ($7.49) 💟 Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner ($4.49) 💟 McCormick Gourmet Thyme ($4.79) 💟 Fruit Vines Bites ($1.28 - $1.79) 💟 NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum ($1.99) 💟 Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea (Price under $5) 💟 EcoTools Hair Brush ($10.99) I was very excited to receive the Rimmel Eye Makeup Remover because I desperately needed a new eye makeup remover. It works like a charm and it doesn't irritate my eyes or anything like that. Definitely love this product and will indeed buy another bottle when I run out. The NYC Expert Last Lip Color is fantastic! I love the color Sugar Plum and when I'm in the mood to take some selfies I try to include this wonderful lipstick I love me some tea so I was very very happy to receive Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea. Celestial Seasonings is my favorite brand. I have a bunch of their teas like Apple Cinnamon Spice, Peppermint, Black Cherry; it's truly a great brand and the tea is delicious. I drink their tea every day. The EcoTools hair brush is alright. It makes my hair kind of static-y but it's Eco friendly which I love about it. The price is pretty decent but I, personally, wouldn't spend $11 on a hairbrush. I love me some Fruit Vines Bites! Strawberry is absolutely my favorite and I love how chewy and sweet and delicious these are. Unfortunately I had to share them with my mom. If I had it my way, I would have eaten the entire small bag by myself. I don't really use eyeliner. I try to stray away from it because every single eyeliner I have gotten has either melted down my eyes or just vanished as if it were never there. It didn't matter if it was waterproof or not. It was always gone. After using the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kajal Eyeliner, I have fallen in love with eyeliner again. My eyes are never dramatic so I don't use this eyeliner as intensely as it's really supposed to be used but it still gets the job done. Even a very light amount on my waterline won't disappear unless I wipe it off. The McCormick Gourmet Thyme was used by my mother for Pork Chops. Honestly, I couldn't really taste anything. She must have added other spices to it because all I tasted was the bread crumbs. BUT, I really like the smell. It smells delicious. Does that count? As for the No7 Protect & Perfect ADVANCED Sachet, I, myself, have not used the product. My mother, on the other hand, has. Unfortunately, my mom said she felt no different and had seen no change to her skin whatsoever. BUT, you'd need to keep using the product to see real results so I guess I'll have to buy her the full size. In the meantime, I'm sure this product works wonders at reducing lines and wrinkles. 🍕 As for Influenster, (I put a pizza emoji there because why not?) it's my favorite community and I am extremely happy to be apart of it! You can become one too! If you'd like an invite to Influenster, let me know by sending me a message and I'll give you one! 💋 Au Revoir, Loveys!

Bristol, CT, KFC!
Beware! They give out cakes with mold on it! And yes, unfortunately I had a piece before I noticed the MOLD! Disgusting!
This needs to be shared!
They need to get their butts together and CLEAN their place and serve NEW food not food that was made weeks ago. Disgusting!
This actually always happens to me. First there was hair in my food from a Chinese place, and now MOLD on my favorite food! This is sickening and I don’t want a new cake. When was it made? I don’t know because you don’t put dates on them! I’d rather have my money back so I can buy medicine if I get sick! 😡

*This is my honest opinion and I was not asked by anyone to review this product. I am reviewing this so you all know what has been working for my skin.*
I haven't tried any Clean & Clear products for acne until I found the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. While I was shopping for peel-off face masks at Walmart, I found this and laughed.
100%? Puh-lease! 100% my butt! So, I bought it. I wanted to prove that 100% was an incorrect percentage but...I don't think it is.
Usually, nothing works for my skin because I have hormonal acne but after using this product, it really has shrunken down the cystic acne I have and usually, they never become anything! I apply it 2-3 times a day as it allows but I ALWAYS apply it before bed so I wake up with most of the bumps smaller than what they were.
It does cause dryness of the area applied to which is why it is a SPOT TREATMENT. It's not meant to be all over your face. The redness is kind of reduced. For me, it lasts longer because I have pimples coming back in the same area over and over again because of my stupid hormones.
Now, after seeing the good results in this, and since I was running out of my Biore, I decided to try another Clean & Clear product. The Deep Clean Cream Cleanser leaves you with an icy cool effect on your skin and makes my skin feel nice and soft after using. I was using this product for two weeks before I saw any results...until today. I forgot to bring it on my little trip so I can't use it. Instead, I have to use Retinol X exfoliating cleanser. I guess it's supposed to be really good for your skin but I don't know if I'll be using it long enough to see any real results.
Anyway, I thought I'd let everyone know that Clean & Clear is amazing. I love it and their products so far seem to work. I will definitely be buying more of their products in the future.

Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne Treatment (Update 1)
*I have received this product line complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.* *This is my HONEST opinion after the 5th use.*
I have received the Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne Line this past Friday and it was and still is doing fairly well with my skin. BUT, there is now a redness that I didn’t have before, forming on my chin and by the sides of my mouth (where I usually get dry if using ANY face wash). I never knew what caused the redness from any of the other acne products I have used since they ALL have Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide in them. So I did some research. Online I discovered that Benzoyl Peroxide is NOT AT ALL the best product to be using on your face. It has been linked to form cancerous tumors, cause extreme dryness and redness, and it destroys the first layer of skin that is our first line of defense from the suns rays. It may get rid of some acne, but in the end, it is NOT worth it. I’ve been told that if you stop using it, the acne will come back even worse! How ridiculous is that? Did I mention that before they ran tests on BP it was classified as a level 1 (which means it was FDA certified as the best and SAFE acne treatment)? Well, they changed that to a category 3- which means it is UNKNOWN whether or not it is safe! As for Salicylic Acid, it is used for getting rid of redness, and is BEST USED for getting rid of blackheads rather than acne. In the case of Mary Kay’s Clear Proof, it DID warn us that it can irritate the skin and if it did (which in my case it does) you HAVE to take away one of the active ingredients (Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide). So, I have decided to cut out BP for good. I’m never getting back together with that. Like, ever. So, everyone, Salicylic Acid is the way to go. Unless, of course, you are allergic to that. So yeah….other than the redness I can’t see my pores, my blackheads are gone, some acne is gone, and my skin is feeling more smooth than ever. As long as the redness doesn’t continue, I will definitely keep using this product.

*I have received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.* *This is my HONEST opinion on this product line after the first use.*
In my last post, I wrote about a skin care line that works for me. Well, it's been officially updated.I've just recently run out of my Biore product and was just about to buy more when I received an email from Influenster stating that I was chosen for an upcoming VoxBox. I was so relieved to find out that it was an acne line I would receive because it seems like that's what I love to review. You know, since I've literally tried them all. (Obviously not all of them). For a week, I kept checking my mailbox hoping the product line would come soon. Well, today I finally got it. Unfortunately, I was way too eager to start using the product that I forgot to film an un-boxing (again). BUT, I plan to unveil what was found in the box and exactly how I found it on YouTube later anyways. So, I opened it as fast as I could, immediately went into the bathroom, and tried the FOUR step system. After using the Cleanser, I actually felt the product working on my skin. (Is that supposed to happen? It felt a little tingly..) Then the Toner, which smelled medicine like but I don't really mind that. Nothing really exciting happened after using that. Then I applied the Acne Gel that I ONLY applied to my affected areas...which just so happens to be everywhere on my face. Then of course, the final step, the Moisturizer. I accidentally used too much because it's more liquid-like than creamy. Over all, after using the entire system just once, my skin felt clean and healthy and definitely refreshed. Hopefully, I'll see some great results using this product from Mary Kay.
This is the link for the Mary Kay Clear Proof line:

*I was not asked to do a review on these products!*
I've been a long time sufferer of acne since my freshman year of High School. Unfortunately, my acne has never been this bad before. I mean, ever since my graduation, I've been breaking out a lot more with cystic acne and my confidence has been destroyed. My dad actually had to say something to me about my acne before I even tried a product because I was playing the waiting game for far too long.
At first, my father bought me Proactiv. It DID work but my lack of routine and using all three products together made my face breakout more. It IS a good working product. But you have to remember that everyone's skin is different. So, a product that may work for your best friend or your favorite celebrity, might not work for you.
After Proactiv, I tried using Neutrogena. It dried out my skin so much, no moisturizer could fix it.
Then I tried XOUT, from the makers of Proactiv. It had a nice Icy cool effect that I loved but washing it off my face just never helped. Using it as a spot treatment, however, worked wonders. So, every now and then, when I have that tough pimple pop up, I use this product and it goes away faster. Sometimes the pimple is gone the next day.
While I was in Walmart, I couldn't help but notice a huge collection of Clearasil. I decided to try to berry wash thing...I don't know the product collection is pink. Anyway, after using the product for a few months, I saw no change whatsoever. I couldn't believe I wasted my money on the entire product line. BUT, again, that doesn't mean it won't work for you.
Then, I received a BzzAgent Campaign that had to do with Acne. So, I decided to give it a try and to be honest, I wasn't really happy. The product, Paula's Choice, is different than all of the other acne products because it doesn't use harsh chemicals that could really hurt your skin. The only problem was, again, it didn't do anything.
But then, I searched online for my favorite celebrity, Kylie Jenner, and found out that she uses this product. The cleanser is cheap but the mask isn't fairly priced if there is only 4 packets inside. In total, the cost should be about $10.
The charcoal cleanser leaves your skin feeling Icy cool, which I guess it's supposed to do, and it leaves your skin feeling really clean. I've been using this product for a week now, and I can honestly say that I'm happy with the results so far. My skin is less red, when I have a pimple, the product visibly clears the bacteria away - depending if it's ready to pop - and the redness has reduced a lot. Since using the cleanser, I haven't seen a pimple on my forehead or anywhere new. The breakouts I already had using this product, haven't had a chance to even reveal it's disgusting inside. Instead, they're disappearing!
For the mask, it really is a self-heating mask. As you massage it all over your face, it heats up. It feels like an expensive spa treatment and I love it. However, I have only used one packet so I'm not really sure if there has been a difference in my face, other than using the cleanser.
So, that's all. :) I just wanted to say that the cleanser really works wonders for me so far. Although I know that the cause of my acne is hormonal imbalance, it really lessens the breakouts to one or two on my face that aren't huge like they used to be.
Definitely a must buy.
I bought mine online from Target but recently I walked into my local Walgreens and discovered an entire section of Biore products! -Even an acne line! BUT, I think I'm going to stay away from acne fighting products for a while and stick with soft products like this. It seems that acne fighting products hurt your skin more than it does help.
Anyway...if you read my little skin review, thank you. :)

Movie Marathon Saturday!
I've seen about every great Zombie movie out there. Every single Resident Evil, George A. Romero movie, and every wannabe famous - low budget zombie film. So today, I turned away from the search for another good zombie movie, and began looking at other genres of movies rather than my favorite Horror genre.
These two of the movies that I've watched today that I think are highly worth mentioning:
Sassy Pants stars Ashley Rickards from AWKWARD. Desperate to escape her over-protective mother, a teenager who has been home schooled for her entire life, runs away to her fathers where she forms a bond with his much younger boyfriend. One of the themes is about realizing who you really are and who you want to be rather than pretending to be someone you're not. It's definitely a coming of age movie. Worth a watch!!! 4/5 stars.
Mickey Virus is a foreign subtitled comedy that is about a hacker who must work with the police to find out who is tied to a hacker gang that has been killing hackers. But when police find evidence that could tie him to a killing, he calls his hacker friends to help find the real culprits...but what if he's been working for them all along? Now, this one is definitely funny and worth watching..as long as you don't mind subtitles. I actually love subtitles....I don't really know why but I do. I'm rating this movie 3/5 stars. Don't let that 3 scare you away though. I really enjoyed it and I definitely laughed throughout most of it.
Now, I have watched a few other movies today but they were popular movies and I thought why not mention the movies I've never heard of instead of mentioning and rating a film that I'm sure people have seen dozens of times.
So, just two movies for now. :)

Okay, this has been, by far, the best product I have received complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster. It came in my Surf's Up VoxBox and I can't stop using it!
It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and it smells like coconut! It feels refreshing and smells refreshing and I LOVE IT. I can't wait to buy the full version because this is a must for this summer.
If the summer sun is leaving your skin dried out, apply this lotion and you'll be feeling smooth in no time! The smoothness lasts for hours and from what I could tell, it still leaves your skin somewhat smooth if you get wet and accidentally wipe it off..
I don't have a lot to say just yet about it except that you should definitely consider getting this because if I'm obsessed with this, you will be too, and just so you know, I rarely use lotion because I hate that slimy feel after applying other lotions but this is just perfect. :)
So, I will say again, this is definitely a summer must have! Especially if you're going out in the sun and tanning because it will help maintain your tan...or so I've read.
I don't tan so I'll never know... :P :)
