I know that like, no matter what by the time the end of the game rolls around v has lost enough ground to johnny where their body isn't "theirs" anymore bc speed of plot, but it's fucked up to consider that being friends with Johnny, doing stuff for him and being kind to him is exactly what kills V.

Alt directly references the consumption of psuedoendotrizine being one of the direct causes of Vs body rejecting them, at the very end of the game it gets thrown back in their face that maybe if they hadn't been a friend to Johnny, if they'd fought against each other for real then maybe they would've gotten their body back for real. If V didnt help johnny get closure, help him tie up all the loose ends he had when he died, then just maybe.

I wish you would write a fic where, oh, whoops, are we back in Stiles' Story Time? Is Scott a teenager now?? Is he going through very important and dramatic teenage things? And Stiles loves this kid, but god, it was so much easier when he could fix everything with a good bedtime story.

I don't know what else is going on because I literally only just thought about this, but ten-years-later SST with Derek and Stiles being embarrassing dads to their long-suffering teenager.

(sending this feels a bit weird because it's dragging up a fic that's been completed for... oh my god, 12 years??? I've been reading your writing for TWELVE YEARS?? but it's still a fic I return to and I think about it in connection with you SO strongly. It's not at all meant to imply that SST needs a sequel at all, it's just my deep love for it)

Oh my gosh, yeah. I feel like if they never move home to the family ranch, Scott will grow up like - City Werewolf a little more than Derek ever did, so he isn't getting this overwhelming culture of isolation and separateness from The Real World (among all the other lovely pack things) and so he's really questioning all these "rules" his dad has and all the secrets in ways that stress Derek the hell out.

And Stiles is really torn about the whole thing because he's like - people are more afraid of things they don't understand, and how can we ask our son to fully isolate major parts of himself from other people if we're not going to give him a community of other wolves to be with? And Scott is like, all these stories you raised me on are about being brave and trusting your heart and not being afraid of things that just seem scary and building communities out of differences and taking a chance on goodness instead of lashing out with preemptive violence! And Stiles is privately like, honey he does have a point?? But outwardly he's going all unified front with Derek - then also Scott is going full teenage defensive cruelty like - Stiles doesn't even get it he's not like us why is he in this conversation?

So it's fraught and frustrating, Scott keeps fighting with Derek and shutting Stiles out and rolling his eyes at him at all the things they used to do together, so Stiles goes back to his studio trying not to feel awful. He starts taking time to reevaluate some of his stories, like, those are great messages for kids, but adult life is more complicated, and there aren't so many situations where there's only one right answer.

Scott really hurts Derek's feelings though at one point when he yells at him and calls him a hypocrite over writing his novels that are more true than fiction when he's being strict about Scott trying to tell his friends or his girlfriend about werewolves or something - and then probably there's some shenanigans going on of some monster-of-the-week variety - or maybe even just a mundane sort of stupid teenagers getting into dangerous situations - and Scott has to wolf out to save one of his friends. So of course they find out, and Scott is really hurt that Derek doesn't quite believe him that he didn't just let it happen. Like how convenient you've made it moot whether you can tell your friend.

They probably have a really serious falling out over it when Derek says something about this being how it started that got his moms killed (secrets spread uncontrollably and all it takes is one wrong person hearing it and he is so, so terrified of losing his son to hunter violence) and Scott just hears it like he's blaming him for their deaths somehow, and does all the angsty "I don't even remember them! And then you wouldn't have been my dad! Maybe that's what you really wanted, you never wanted to get stuck with me!" teenager overreactions and all of that.

Anyway he probably runs away from home and gets in way over his head somewhere - one of his friends turns out to be part of some coven that would love to use a werewolf in some black magic or something? Or the monsters involved are a bigger deal than anyone realized because they weren't listening to Scott well enough? Whatever. Either way Stiles and Derek have to dive in and rescue his butt and they end up seeing this sort of new side to each other that's like - yeah, Stiles has Ideals but he's also ruthless by nature and of course the Sheriff had him doing weapons safety training and marksmanship from youth, and Derek is an absolute natural in his element in full werewolf form and will do anything to save his son.

And you know, they survive but not without some cost of course and Scott learns the hard way that it's not just Tradition but those rules are forged in blood, and Derek realizes that he put Scott in a sort of impossible position trying to come of age in a world he couldn't be fully part of and he needs to find a compromise and a community, and Stiles figures out how to express it all in new more complex stories. Or something like that.

No story today - I'm on day one of my period and I'm way too tired to write anything that makes sense.

But I can offer a wish. I'd love for Bridgerton to explore the subject a bit. Maybe showing Colin caring for Pen when she is on her period and a flashback of him taking care of Eloise or Francesca.

Since it's a taboo subject, I doubt it is going to happen. Still it would make me love Colin even more. And it would help a bit to move things forwards when it comes to period and menstruation.

Those are not dirty words. It should not be treated as such. The difficulty we have (for those who have it) during those days are not dirty things either. For me it's mostly mood swing (yesterday I cried watching a seal getting free from plastic) and weakness.

But I used to have excruciating painful periods. If I knew those are not the normal state of things, maybe I would not have to endure them for years. Representation means also this.

Also sorry for the rant, but I truly hope we might see something like this is a big show like Bridgerton. It would help a lot. It won't fix everything, but it would be a nice step forward.
