The "LOG OFF" portest

At first, I thought Tumblr NSFW ban policy is none of my business. Then I found out that my 40 calligraphy post was misjudgment as adult content and been hidden.

Tumblr did not notice me which post was judgment as adult content. I have to look all of my post and find them out.

I protested this sloppy, disrespect ban policy.

Please log out for 24 hours on December 17, 2018.

Tumblr宣布了禁止色情內容的政策��原以為這和我的書法部落格是沒什麼關係的，後來才發現我有40篇書法相關的貼文被誤判為「露骨內容」且被隱藏起來。

Tumblr並沒有主動通知我哪篇文章被判定為露骨內容，而是我得一個個檢查我這幾年發過的貼文。

我反對這樣一個判定草率、不尊重用戶的新政策。

Just a quick note

So I didn’t take into account that Tumblr’s absolutely bonkers algorithm would also flag lots of completely innocuous posts. I’ll try to go through my blog when it seems like it’s done flagging and save the posts that aren’t actually adult content, but yeah, just an FYI, a lot of random stuff might disappear if Tumblr doesn’t respond to those reviews quickly enough or keeps rerunning the algorithm on already approved posts. Who knows.

So tumblr’s getting a bit weird lately

I’ll properly make a list of where you can find me in a few days.

Pillowfort might be an option and drai suggested a nsfw twitter to go with my existing Twitter. I’ve been thinking of starting an art insta too with the way things are looking.

I’ve only just heard about the new guidelines so I will be shutting down my nsfw tumblr by the 17th - I’ll post on there where you can find my nsfw stuff before I do tho.

And I understand that Patreon is not financially viable for everything but there is that option too as all my nsfw gets posted there.

Honestly I feel kind of like I want to do a bit of recon with the friends I have on here too and find where they’ll be setting up because it’s looking like everyone is a bit unsure right now of where they stand with tumblr what with blogs getting deleted left and right so

boo on them for treating people like that. Fan’s are the reason this site runs.

I’ll do a proper list when I know better myself but it’s pretty safe to assume it will be some variation of this name anyway.

The purge was real and I apologize for doubting it. Tumblr is planning to remove all NSFW artwork on December 17th: Link

My twitter is sfw only (I’m looking into a nsfw one, I will link it from there if I manage it) and my patreon doesn’t contain my oldest nsfw works, like the OTP challenge or other older johnlock works. 

I don’t have a lot of nsfw on this blog anymore, so I hope most of it will survive, but my sideblog will likely be purged, as well as older posts on here; this blog has also been marked as adult content for years now, so I will likely be even more heavily filtered in the future.

I’m… at a bit of a loss really. I’ve become comfortable here. I took it for granted. I’m not sure where to go from here, quite literally. I’m looking into some other sites and ways to preserve my nsfw work but I’m not sure I will have the heart to replicate my entire blog somewhere else.

I’d encourage everyone to go back and save any posts and artworks which you enjoyed, since I’m not sure if I’ll be able to bring them back if they go.

There was a very unfortunate incident that occurred.  

My original IW-themed comic, which I had posted on Tumblr and Twitter, was reposted without my permission on facebook. There was no link to my original posting, either. Someone online found it and asked the reposter on my behalf if she had gotten permission to repost my work, but the answer was no. This perpetrator insisted that she is “promoting” my work and that I should contact her first - and not the other way around. It appears that she doesn’t think she did anything wrong.

In addition to that posting, this person has also reposted dozens of other original pieces of mine without permission. The IW comic that I mentioned at first, is especially important to me. The fact that my work has been treated like this makes me incredibly sad.

What I can’t tolerate more than anything else is that works by my friends from Japan and artists that I respect from around the world, have been also reposted without any permission.

It is unforgivable that works by my dear friend and much-respected artists are abused like this for someone’s personal greed.

I first thought I would just delete my Tumblr account and end everything once and for all, but then decided to post this message in the hopes of reducing this kind of incidents, which are perpetrated by rude and shameless art thieves and reposters.

Therefore, I sincerely ask the people who are reposting artwork that doesn’t belong to them, to stop it.

However, if you do want to repost the work, you should first contact original artists. At the very least, you should clearly assign recognition to the original artist and give a link to the original work. I think that is the proper course of action.

If the original artist says no, then that decision should be respected.

Even if you think the art is wonderful, and you wish to share it with others, the original artist’s desires should be considered paramount.  

Since my last posting stating that I would leave Tumblr, I have received so many encouraging comments and messages. I truly appreciate it.

I have not made a final decision whether I will stay on Tumblr or delete my account, but I just wanted to post this message before doing so.

My English is not perfect, so I created this message with the help of my friend, Sarah.

I truly believe that I’m not saying anything out of place.

I would like to leave the rest up to you.
