I'm gonna marry Robotnik and you can't stop me. The only thing our marriage will cause on Mobius is a dramatic increase in the human population.
That's okay, I'll just marry Snively and double that increase.

Wait…Robians are still organic on the inside, underneath a robotic shell? I, uh…I never knew that. Guess you can add “Cybernetic Body Horror” to the list of reasons roboticization is one of the most terrifying sci-fi ideas ever…
Well, I should correct myself there, we don't know for sure if *all* the organs are intact.
It would make sense if the support organs (heart, lungs, stomach, etc.) are roboticized in order to suspend their physical needs. However if they're able to gain control back, at least their brains have to still be intact.
Keep in mind that it is confirmed that they're still aware of what's going on around them. If their brains were also roboticized, then I would imagine that the process would make the Robians unconscious, like they're in a coma. In that case if it just locks their consciousness, it would make it to where they can't remember anything past the Roboticization process. Or if it completely rewrote their entire being, then they would be amnesiac.
A little headcanon of mine is that Robotnik is able to control the Robians by hijacking the electrical activity in their brain and manipulating it to where he can order the body to however he pleases. The Robians know he's doing this, they're aware of tasks that he's ordering them to complete, but their body is no longer its own. He's basically using their bodies like puppets to carry out his orders and build his regimen.
It's definitely very chilling once you dig deeper into the concept. I also find it disturbing because there isn't much known about the process besides the bare bones of it. All we know is that they know what's happening, and typically there isn't anything if they can do about it unless they have a Power Ring, or if they develop enough discipline to fight the programming. So a lot of it is left up to the imagination.
Which honestly I wish there was more of this concept in other media. It's such a unique horror concept! >:D

THIS!
I didn't even think of the children and babies that would be in the equation. It makes roboticizing even more fucked up.
It really goes to show how much disregard Robotnik has of life in general. And I mean with LIFE as a whole if we go off of Ben Hurst lore. While I don't remember a whole lot about Hurst's vision on Season 3, I do know that there are at least 2 takes on how Snively and Robotnik end up on Mobius, which both of them involve Robotnik attempting to take over the colony ship they originated from. One where they get exiled and one where the colony ship gets destroyed in the process.
I feel that with the quote of "In the land of the four pawed critters, the two handed man is king", it more so applies to **Robotnik** being the one who is king. If the quote was more literal, then why would he try to overthrow the colony ship in the first place? He sees himself as superior to the Mobians not just for the simple fact that he's human, but because he is the superior human. Not to mention he doesn't treat Snively all that well either, despite them being relatives and on the same side. He sees people in general as simply pawns for his own master plan.
I mean, the dude was willing to pollute and rip apart the planet's entire ecosystem just so he could have control over everything.
And if the scenario of the colony ship being destroyed is the canon take, then it shows that Robotnik will do whatever it takes to ensure he is the one who reigns supreme. Even if it means killing members of his own species.
I also love your point of the consequences of reversing the Roboticization process. I couldn't imagine having to live as a robot for over a decade and then suddenly all of my physical needs came rushing back. I can imagine a lot of Robians would not be sane after that, something that they'll never recover from or need intensive therapy for. Or even as you said, if they would even be physically functional. It makes me wonder if the deroboticization process would be even more traumatic than being roboticized.
Genuinely, being roboticized sounds fucking terrifying.
Roboticized people are aware of what's going on and what's happening to them, and that to me gives off heavy I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream vibes.
Imagine somebody who was supposed to be on your side did a complete 180 and destroyed life as you know it. You have no idea what happened to your king and your kingdom has been twisted into some metallic and polluted hellscape, it's name now a mockery of its past self.
SWATBots have stormed through the streets and ripped apart dozens, if not hundreds of families. Men, women, and children alike are imprisoned in cold and cramped cells like they're on death row. Eventually the SWATBots round up the next group in a neat, single file line for the Roboticizer. As you're the one up next, you see the man who was supposed to be your kingdom's hero. Robotnik has a sadistic grin on his face, eagerly watching the innocent become slaves to his machine. This man has and never had any regard for the people's lives, they're all just pawns in his master plan of destroying the world the Mobians built. All because "in the land of the four-pawed critters, the two-handed man is king".
The Roboticizer walls go up and soon followed by a current of electricity. The voltage rips through your body and you writhe in pain, your flesh twisting and reforming into metal. And when it's done, the walls come down. You're now a Worker Bot, programmed to bend at Robotnik's will. You're sent off to work in one of his factories, and while you can't feel anything physically... You're still aware.
You don't need to eat, drink, sleep, or relieve yourself. Your metallic body is designed to keep you working day and night, fulfilling your new master's wishes. Your body isn't yours anymore, and your mind can no longer control it. But you know what's going on. You're forced to be inside your own head and view the world like you're watching a movie. It's a very fucked version of watching a character do something you know they shouldn't do and yell for them to stop. But it's all in vain. You now have a hand in aiding Robotnik's agenda.
It makes me wonder if some roboticized people would even be sane if they were deroboticized. How would they even cope with spending 10 years of being unable to control their bodies? The only other ways for roboticized people to gain back control are the power rings or force of will. I can imagine a good chunk of the population would just dissociate after a while so that they don't have to think about it. Or maybe they do sit there and go mad as their bodies continue on like nothing is happening.
I really like that SATAM has a very subtle psychological horror aspect to it. While it is watered down due to it being a kids show, the concept of roboticization has always been interesting to me because it poses a lot of questions. One of the biggest ones for me is how are the Roboticized being kept alive? Their outer body is trapped in a metal casing, but their organs are kept intact. Can the Roboticized die by natural means?
I'm not very good at theorizing, but I imagine that it's their brain power that keeps them alive. The Roboticization process suspends their physical needs and relies on the electricity in their bodies to keep them alive. But even the electricity in your body can't last forever. Their bodies would slowly give out as the electricity depletes from working 24/7.
That would be a very slow death, and while it may not physically hurt them due to their senses being nullified, I can imagine them suffering from it psychologically. Or does Robotnik have a means of recharging the Roboticized? That would be even worse because they're being forced to be kept alive for God knows how long just to continuously work.

Me trying to decide if I simp for Snively or Naugus:
#On one hand there's a passive aggressive conniving short man who has a great story arc of being resentful towards his uncle.#On the other there's a morally ambiguous and mysterious enigma of a sorcerer who has an amazing voice and Robotnik is deeply afraid of.#giggling and kicking my legs#satam#satam sonic#snively#snively robotnik#ixis naugus#naugus#sonic the hedgehog

Soooooo, I've been working on some playlists for the SATAM villains. :DDDD
I've been able to find a lot of stuff for Snively and Robotnik, but it's been difficult for Naugus. Let me know if there are any songs I should add to any of the playlists >:3
(Note: I group SATAM Robotnik with Underground since I see them as the same dude, just one is more goofier)

INTRODUCTION BLOG
Hello everyone, my name is Astragene/Madyson! I decided to make a separate blog for mainly SATAM related content. That way I have a separate area of where I can yap about this gem of Sonic media. I'll occasionally post about AoSTH, Underground, and maybe the comics, but SATAM is my main focus.
I got into the SATAM/Underground fandom back in 2019, discovering both shows when I was browsing some live channels. It very quickly developed into a specific area of my special interest in the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise. I LOVE old Sonic media, everything from the old cartoons, to the old games, and to the comics. SATAM overall is my #1 favorite Sonic show, as I have a deep passion for the lore and characters.
Within the show, I specifically hyperfixate on Naugus and Snively. I kinda flip flop between the two being my absolute favorite character, but I'm genuinely fascinated with how each character is written. You'll see a lot of posts regarding these two, even some Robotnik since I like him as well.
If you want to reach out to me, you can DM me @astragene (just let me know you came from this blog). However I will not answer DMs from those under 18.
Minors are allowed to interact with the blog, WITH ONE EXCEPTION. This blog post may have NSFW content, which those posts will be rated 18+ accordingly with specific warnings. Despite being extremely difficult to age restrict content on the internet, if I see a minor interacting with NSFW posts, they will be blocked.
Other than that, I can guarantee that 90% of the content here is SFW! I'm not too keen on posting a lot of explicit content unless it's a fanfic request. I may thirst from time to time, but nothing explicit on that aspect. ^w^
Speaking of fanfic requests, I take those! I'll write any fanfic you want whether Canon x Reader or OC x Canon. HOWEVER, I will not write NSFW content of underage/Noncon situations, or aspects of NSFW that I'm uncomfortable with. Everyone has their kinks, so I'm not gonna judge if it involves consenting parties. But I still have my limits.
Next, I wanna point out that I do have autism. It can be difficult for me at times to understand tone or I might come off as rude from time to time, so please know that I don't mean any ill intention. Please point it out and I'll correct myself :3
Last thing is that while I don't mind going a bit off topic, I will not permit talks of politics or any sort of hatred on my blog (racism, homophobia, ableism, etc). This is a blog where I wanna vibe and gush about a cartoon. Overall, just don't be an asshole.
And with all that out of the way, here's some info about me!:
Age: 20
Birthday: August 12th
Favorite Color: Dark purple
Gender: Nonbinary
Pronouns: She/They
Favorite food: Potstickers
Favorite Games genre: indie games that are simulations or story rich. (UnderTale, Stardew, Inscryption, etc.)
Favorite Movies/Show/Book genre: Psychological horrors, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Old cartoons

Thank you for coming to my blog! I hope you're having a good day!! <3
