[Image Description: a series of nine tweets made by Patrick S. Tomlinson, @ stealthgeek (account currently suspended) which reads as follows:
"Whenever abortion comes up, I have a question I've been asking for ten years now of the "Life begins at Conception" crowd. In ten years, no one has EVER answered it honestly.
It's a simple scenario with two outcomes. No one ever wants to pick one, because the correct answer destroys their argument. And there IS a correct answer, which is why the pro-life crowd hates the question.
Here it is. You're in a fertility clinic. Why isn't important. The fire alarm goes off. You run for the exit. As you run down this hallway, you hear a child screaming from behind a door. You throw open the door and find a five-year-old child crying for help.
They're in one corner of the room. In the other corner, you spot a frozen container labeled "1000 Viable Human Embryos." The smoke is rising. You start to choke. You know you can grab one or the other, but not both before you succumb to smoke inhalation and die, saving no one.
Do you A) save the child, or B) save the thousand embryos. There is no "C." "C" means you all die.
In a decade of arguing with anti-abortion people about the definition of human life, I have never gotten a single straight A or B answer to this question. And I never will.
They will never answer honestly, because we all instinctively understand the right answer is "A." A human child is worth more than a thousand embryos. Or ten thousand. Or a million. Because they are not the same, not morally, not ethically, not biologically.
This question absolutely eviscerates their arguments, and their refusal to answer confirms that they know it to be true.
No one, anywhere, actually believes that and embryo is equivalent to a child. That person does not exist. They are lying to you.
They are lying to you to try and evoke an emotional response, a paternal response, using false-equivalency. No one believes life begins at conception. No one believes embryos are babies, or children. Those who cliam [sic] to are trying to manipulate you so they can control women.
Don't let them. Use this question to call them out. Reveal them for what they are. Demand they answer your question, and when they don't, slap that big ol' Scarlet P of the Patriarchy on them. The end."

So! I know i haven’t posted in a while on here (I’m mainly mobile) but I Will largely be leaving the tumblr due to its fool ass ban . I may eventually migrate the another blog locale, though it seems pillowfort may take some time to get up, I think I’ll g o there eventually. I know some people irl who aren’t leaving tumblr so I am going to keep the app for now, if merely to message them. Gonna have to see how that turns out. Tomorrow, however, is the protest, so tonight I am pulling all the references I have tagged from across all my bloggos and posting this farewell post.
If you wanna find me elsewhere, though I do not have a platform like tumblr where I post similar things, I do post my art things such as seen @callieramics on my facebook page (far my frequently there!) and I have an instagram with the same name though it crops my pictures funky, and I Have a Twitter, Sismyn, which I do not use except to occasionally retwit sjw type things when prompted & like stuff that the lady from making a murderer twets. except fooor gmail and pinterest I’ve been able to get Sismyn as my name on most websites (the only reason it’s not my main here is because I mostly use it for gaming). If you cannot find me as Callieramics or Sismyn, I might be there as Aarontide or Scribblito, but I only use the former as a place name and I have only used the latter here.
If I do get a pillowfort or other similar platform I’ll try to remember to come back and post a confirmation of my new location, assuming I have not been purged in the meantime. xD

Librarians must resist trumpism

Radical librarian Jason Griffey (previously) wants librarians to continue their 21st century leadership in the resistance to surveillance and persecution – a proud record that includes the most effective stands against GW Bush’s Patriot Act – by pledging to make libraries safe havens from trumpism and its evils: electronic surveillance; racial and gender-based discrimination; and the assertion that ideology trumps empirical reality.
Neutrality favors the powerful, and further marginalizes the marginalized. In the face of the current political climate, with the use of opinions as bludgeons and disinformation as the weapon of choice for manipulation and intellectual coercion, it is up to those who value fact and believe in the care of those in need to stand up and positively affirm that to do otherwise is evil.
For libraries and librarians, that means:
1. Making the physical space of the library safe for those that need it by publicly stating your stance on the targeting of marginalized communities and then following up with actions and policies that back up those statements
2. Protecting your patrons from targeting and oppression, even in the face of possible governmental pressures, by resisting calls for information about your patrons at every level
3. Making your digital spaces safe for you patrons by limiting the data you collect, eliminating the data that you store, encrypting your communications at all levels and importantly insisting that your vendors do the same
4. Running programs that actively provide support for your at-risk patrons, whatever that looks like in your community
5. By being the voice of reason and compassion when dealing with your city or county government, and by modeling the same by advocating for those at risk
These things are vital and necessary. Especially now.

Not shaving and not wearing make up are literally nonbehaviors. They’re a complete lack of action. But doing nothing is considered masculine because men are the only ones who are allowed to just be.

terfs dont target trans men the same as trans women because they view us as “lost womyn” and “confused butches” so their goal is to save us. the goal for trans women? to kill them. do you see the difference??

Boycott To Siri With Love
If you are planning on reading or gifting “To Siri With Love” by Judith Newman, please be aware that the autistic community has called for a boycott. The book is a grotesque invasion of the 13-year old son’s privacy including her cruel observations that imagining him having sex is accompanied by the Benny Hill soundtrack in her head. She plans to acquire power of attorney to have him forcibly sterilized when he is 18 without his consent.
Books having a long shelf life, this tell-all laughing at his struggles with social communication, motor apraxia, etc. may make her a lot of money and has gotten her on the NYT book list, however that book is going to follow him for the rest of his life. It is child abuse in printed format.
