Here's my SDS Rewrite on AO3

While I brainstorm Hendrickson and Dreyfus and procrastinating my redesign of Theo, I decided to redesign Gilthunder's armor

What I changed:

I didn't give him a BULBOUS chestplate... Because his original chestplate looks too big, like one blow to the chest and that thing's caving in

I made the lining of his cape blue instead of that random pink-

Idk what to call the cloth hanging from his hips, but hey, it looks cool

Gave him white pants since the original black pants were a bit jarring-

I'm keeping his romance with Margaret, but I'm adding a bit more... Substance... Idk the right word-

Instead of Vivian being a PEDOPHILE and being in love with him when he was EIGHT AND SHE WAS AT LEAST IN HER 20S, I'm making their relationship more Mother Gothel and Rapunzel mixed with Belos and Hunter

Since Zaratras (aka Gilthunder's dad) wasn't the one murdered in my Rewrite (since it would cause more of an uproar if the Sins "murdered" a king... And for plot reasons), I'm doing something else with him... You'll have to wait and see what I do

Excalibur has three designs in SDS, and somehow all of them are ugly

So, even though I'm not the best at weapon designing, I decided to redesign Excalibur

What I changed:

I made Excalibur look more like a Celtic Longsword, since I'm basing Camelot on Anglo-Saxon and Celtic Britain

I put dragon wings on the guard, because... Pen-DRAGON, and I put another Celtic Shield Knot on the Pommel, just to add more interest to the sword

I added patterns on the sword... Because when I first redesigned Excalibur, it was quite boring, and I didn't want it to look boring

I'm also gonna redesign The Lady of The Lake, but I'll be revealing her redesign when it's time for Book Two of my rewrite

I'm procrastinating my redesign of Theo, so here's my redesign of King Arthur!

What I changed:

I based his clothes on Anglo-Saxon kings (tho, I did try to give him accurate shoes, but they didn't look very good-)

I made his cape less frumpy (and I gave him a Celtic Shield Knot pendant to hold it closed, since that's common among Anglo-Saxon kings)

His hair is still spiky, but it's not like he hasn't brushed it a day in his life

I got rid of the plot of him becoming the King of Chaos... Because where the hell did that come from!? It makes absolutely no sense!

I didn't want his main color to be white, because that's boring, so I made it blue instead

I also aged him up to 18 to 19, that way he's still relatively young to be a king, but he's not basically a child anymore (is it really that hard to not make your characters 15!?)

Next redesign is Zaneri's clone- I MEAN- sister, Jenna

What I changed:

Made her look distinct from Zaneri, because her original design is just Zaneri, but mirrored and with a different color palette

Once again, gave her no shoes, that way she doesn't inhibit her connection to the earth

Made her look more like a Celtic druid

Gave her the same Druidic symbols as Zaneri, just in different positions

I'm giving The Druids the ability to turn into animals (since I'm basing them on DND Druids and Real-life Druids... And it's cool), so Jenna has the ability to turn into a Golden Eagle

I'm still figuring out what to do with her, so I'll update this post later whenever I get more ideas

I want to include the Druids more, so they don't just show up for a chapter or two and just leave, never to be seen or even mentioned again

I'm redesigning The Druids in SDS, starting with Zaneri

What I changed:

Made her look more like a Druid, like a cross between a real life Druid and a DND Druid

Gave her no shoes, that way she wouldn't inhibit her connection to the earth (none of the Druids will be wearing shoes)

Gave her a few Druidic symbols: The Tree of Life on her belt, a Celtic Shield Knot on her necklace, and the Triquetra on her arm (it's like a tattoo of sorts)

I made it so Sorcery is a Liones thing and Druidry is a Camelot thing to further distinguish them, and because I'm loosely basing Camelot on Anglo-Saxon and Celtic Britain in my rewrite (since the Legend of King Arthur is an Anglo-Saxon legend)

Zaneri is still in love with Meliodas, but it's not just one of her two traits anymore, and I'm still brainstorming on where to go with it... And I'm debating on whether or not Rewrite Meliodas should be under the Ace umbrella or not since he did have a romantic relationship with Goddess Elizabeth (who I'm calling Uriel in my rewrite, because it's confusing as hell to have two characters with the same name in the same story-), and Liz (who's name I might change, but I'm not sure)

I'm giving The Druids the ability to turn into animals (since I'm basing them on DND Druids and Real-life Druids... And it's cool), so Zaneri has the ability to turn into a black wolf

I'm still figuring out what to do with her, so I'll update this post later whenever I get more ideas

Here's my Guila redesign!

What I changed:

Gave her actually protective armor, but I did give her Brigandine, because this is like when she's on duty, but doesn't need a full suit of armor at the moment

Put her hair up so that she can slip on her coif and helmet easily (she can just pin up that strand of hair in her face)

Gave her open eyes, because my rewrite is written, not animated, so she'll need her eyes open so I can describe her expressions better. I also made her eyes gray because I felt like they'd fit.

Here's the final Elizabeth outfit redesign

What I changed:

She looked like a flight attendant who was half asleep when getting dressed, so I gave her a white and purple slim dress, a black belt, black pants, white boots, black gloves, and a pink... Coat thing-

I wanted her to look like she's ready for travel instead of just looking like a flight attendant, and so that a certain someone doesn't stick his head in her crotch and peer up her skirt

Elizabeth's bodysuit redesign!

What I changed (basically the entire outfit):

Instead of a black bodysuit, I gave her a gambeson, which is a padded jacket worn under armor and can be worn with chainmail over it

Changed her hairstyle so she'd be able to wear a coif and helmet

Gave her a pair of pants and actual shoes... Because why would she wear a bodysuit, gloves THAT DON'T COVER HER HANDS, and stockings THAT DON'T COVER HER FEET under armor? She'd get pinched and uncomfortable with the armor right against her skin!

Also, a 15 year old shouldn't have been wearing that bodysuit out and about in the first place-

Elizabeth's blue outfit redesign!

What I changed:

Made the weird skirt/dress thing a tunic, and idk what that white bit was, so I made it some kind of chest piece... Idk what it's actually called, plz forgive me

Gave her pants underneath... So a certain someone doesn't have the opportunity to peer up her skirt and stick his ugly head in her crotch.

Turned the gold thing on her arm into a pair of gloves, because 1, it made no sense that it was just on one arm, and 2... What was it supposed to be, anyway?

Made her boots longer so her legs don't look so bare

Elizabeth's white dress with a pink jacket redesign!

What I changed:

I made her skirt shorter, but gave her long pants underneath, just to make her outfit more interesting

The ruffles on her jacket didn't make any sense, so I just made the sleeves bell out (or whatever the right word is)

Her boots also made no sense. Why did they randomly have fur when there's no other fur on her outfit? And assuming Brittania has a warm climate, having furry boots would be really uncomfortable when she's running, jumping, climbing, and fighting all day.

Gave her four smaller wings on her lower back since that's what I'm giving Goddess Elizabeth (who I renamed Uriel to not cause confusion) in my rewrite

Kept her original bangs, because the ones she originally has with this outfit look bad, and they remind me of Vivian... Who I hate, along with all the other pedos in this damn anime-

Gave her a necklace with the crux immissa quadrata, because I'm adding a lot of Ancient Greek and Roman influence into my rewrite, and it's the Greek version of The Cross in Christianity... Because there's a lot of surface level Biblical references in SDS

And ofc, by the time she's in this outfit, she'd be 18... Because a 15 to 16 year old wearing the outfits she's constantly put in is just... Creepy-

And finally, the last of The Weird Fangs, Ruin (I didn't change much for him because I actually like his original design)

What I changed (not much):

Gave him eye holes (Flame Emperor style like I did with Golgius)

Made the mouth wider so he has a slit to breathe out of

Shrank his shoulder pads down

Made the end of his staff spiky, so when Elizabeth bites off the bell, he can stab people with the end

Surprisingly, I actually really like Ruin's original design, because it's actually pretty cool (when compared to other designs in SDS), so I didn't change much

Here's my redesign of Jude

What I changed:

Gave him a sword AND shield (so he doesn't automatically die because he has no way of fighting back)

Gave him two eye holes rather than one so he isn't obscuring his vision

There are air holes between the vines so he, once again, doesn't suffocate

I came up with powers for Jude: He can basically summon shadowy vines covered in thorns, kinda like Meliodas's demon powers, just... Not demonic, just regular magic, and he can create magic barriers, which he uses to surround the prison when an inmate tries to escape

Sounds simple, I know, but in the original he never even GOT to showcase his powers before being killed off

Here's my redesign of Golgius (what the hell are these names???)

What I changed:

I gave him ram horns instead of whatever his horns were originally supposed to be

He has eye holes, but I went for a Flame Emperor from FE3H direction, where his scleras are black, his irises are one of his main colors, and the pupils are a lighter or darker shade of that color. This way he can actually see out of his mask, and still look menacing

(there would also be slits between the teeth in the mask so he can breathe)

Made his legs in proportion to the rest of his body so it doesn't look like he skipped leg day

Decided to give him new powers since his original powers... Suck-

He now has super strength, allowing him to jump long distances and crush enemies with his bare hands, and he rams people with his helmet... Because... Ram horns

Here's my redesign of Friesia... Because for some reason I'm better at drawing girls and other feminine presenting individuals-

What I changed:

Made her helmet an actual bug-like shape rather than a spider... Because spiders are arachnids, not bugs, and her whole power is bug related

I gave her air holes on her mask, below her visor, so she can breathe

For some reason the legs on her original armor were furry... But bugs don't have furry legs, they have spiky legs, so I gave her armor spiky legs
