Hello all! Now that all of the founding cats have been claimed, it’s time to get this thing off the ground! I’m going to quickly explain what each moon post will entail, how you can interact with other players, and some ideas I have in mind that I’d love feedback on.

First, for each moon, I’m going to upload a post that says the moon’s name, the season, and the clan-wide news (which encompasses ceremonies, births & deaths, health, other clans, and miscellaneous events). Below that are the character profiles! You will see your cat’s name, as well as their gender, age, and trait/skills. Underneath that, you��ll get their thought/status that moon inside a quote, then their in-game relationship events that moon!

Lastly, underneath each cat profile, I’m going to pose a character-specific question to you that you’re free to answer either in-character, or out of character! Or you can make art/write in order to answer it. These are not required, but if answered, can help build on the lore we’re playing through !

I’m also going to put a “lingering questions and story beats” section at the bottom of each moon post, which draws attention to the (most major) events currently happening in the Clan, and ask some questions you might feel free to think about concerning your character. Remember: your cat’s thoughts may influence the story if you follow that route !

Quickly made a ref for Quailkit! Hopefully the quality is okay (might have to click on the image).

Quailkit is a Claim-a-Cat OC from @shadowclangen

I think the name Quailkit is adorable, but his coat colour/pattern doesn't really resemble a wild/undomesticated quail's, so I tried to incorporate some bird imagery with his shape/silhouette. The tuft of fur on the head is meant to resemble the topknot (head plumage/feathers) that male quails have. The Gambel's Quail has it purely for intimidation, but I don't think this kitten looks very scary lol

I'm not completely happy with the tail (knowing me I'll probably redraw this ref multiple times) but I tried to make it look a little like a feather.

I imagine he'd be quite scruffy. I also gave him a snaggle tooth (the tooth/fang poking out).

Quailkit is unruly. I imagine he'd do exactly what he's told not to do. He seems like he's just full of energy and probably quite impulsive and determined.

I love that he got the "constantly climbing" skill/trait. I think it could create some fun moments, and I find it funny because quails are very much ground-dwelling birds. I like to imagine Quailkit constantly freaking out the adults in the clan by climbing far too high by the edges of camp and refusing to come down.

I imagine he's actually pretty intelligent, but this gets him in trouble. He wants to investigate everything, learn everything, experiment, and see everything, even if it gets him hurt or scares his older clanmates.

He's a chaotic little guy.

This is the first CaC or similar project I've been a part of. Can't wait to see where it goes!

Frostfall is a very anxious medicine cat, constantly worrying about her clanmates. However she believes this worry makes her worse at her job and so she forces it down and disguises it with gruffness and grumpiness instead, to the point where that's become her default reaction.

Sticking with the "icy" theme I think I'll name her Frostfall! I'll start working on a ref sheet tonight! :) Btw are there any plans for a Discord server or something along those lines?

Ahhh love the name Frostfall, and we can’t wait to see your ref sheet!

As of right now, there are no plans for a Discord server; everything will remain on the Tumblr! However, if interest greatly increases, I might consider getting Discord again and opening a server !
