I really wish I had more to say, but I can’t think of anything I mean more. Every time I try to write something down it sounds all self-pitying, and you don’t need to hear (or, read, in this case) all that right now. Or ever. It shouldn’t be on you.

I’m sorry that I’m doing this so soon after Javi. You don’t deserve to lose someone else so quickly, i know that, but you’re not really losing anyone, if you think about it. Just pretend I died in the initial crash. Or froze. Anything to make this less painful for you.

I’m sorry I couldn’t save him. Hell, while I’m doing this, I’m sorry I couldn’t save you. I shouldn’t known something was off during Doomcoming. I should’ve been able to stop them from hurting you. I should’ve done more. I could’ve stopped you from drinking it and I didn’t.

I’m sorry I couldn’t do more. I’m sorry you’ve kept me alive for so long just for me to turn around and do this.

I hope know you’ll make it out of this alive, even if I don’t; because you’re strong. You’re stronger than me, because if I lost even half of what you have I’d’ve killed myself far, far sooner.

If it weren’t for you, I would’ve killed myself far, far sooner. Thank you for that, and thank you for everything.

✮ he and Natalie were the lightest sleepers of the group, so it didn’t take him long to wake up when he heard the door. He found the notes left for everybody, then the other separate ones. He pocketed his before yelling for the others to come in.

✮ the ONLY reason he wasn’t out there searching for her was because of how scared Robin was. Once he’d calmed her down a little and she’d cried herself out, he’d opened up his note and read it.

✮ it was his turn to start crying, then— more silently than Robin had, sure, but his shoulders shook all the same as a few stray tears slid down his cheeks.

quick clear up— this is NOT my experience. (shoutout to my dad!! he’s awesome and I love him!!) please don’t read this one if there’s a possibility of it triggering bad memories. im willing to change anything that doesn’t seem necessary or feels incorrect, but this is the backstory i have created for my character and it is the one that properly contextualizes her experiences most.

happy (late because this was supposed to be done yesterday) father’s day. i hope your dad is nothing like Ivy and Lucas’s

✮ Ivy’s dad never truly treated Ivy like a daughter, even though she had his features. She was Lucas’s sister and her mom’s daughter; not his.

✮ this is because Ivy wasn’t a planned pregnancy. they hadn’t wanted a second kid, but when they saw how excited Lucas was about having a little sibling, they knew that they had to go through with it.

✮ the marriage had been strained before that— Ivy’s dad drank a lot, and Ivy’s mom didn’t like that.

✮ after the second child, he had to work more and ended up drinking a lot in the evenings.

✮ he never physically harmed or assaulted Ivy when he was inebriated. when the night drinking turned into day-drinking, he stopped showing up to Ivy’s events (he’d already stopped showing up to Lucas’s) and got far more snappy.

✮ (keep in mind Lucas is six years older than Ivy!!! he’s seen the day drinking and is old enough to know what it means and notice the difference.)

✮ one of the only good memories Ivy had of her father was when he went on a walk with her. he’d been drunk, which Ivy hadn’t noticed because she was eight.

✮ he’d taken the ribbon out of Ivy’s hair— a white one with pretty lace— and tied it around a tree “so they wouldn’t get lost”.

✮ he’d promised they’d get it when they went back around, but they hadn’t passed by it. she’d been sad about it (as an eight year old would be) and it’d started raining on their way back.

✮ she’d went crying to her mom, cold and wet, and her mom had been FURIOUS at him for not looking into the weather or even just looking at the fucking clouds in the sky.

✮ her parents had fought that day. badly. it was the worst fight she’d ever seen them have, and from the looks of it, they’d done it often.

✮ her dad had walked out into the storm after that. Ivy had ran after him, crying, screaming for him to come back.

✮ “dad! d-daddy, please, where are you going?! Dad!!”

✮ Lucas (who was fourteen) had come after her and held her in the rain while her mom retreated up to her room. It was him who’d given her a warm bath afterwards and let her sleep in his room while their mom cried.

“Don’t ask him to stay, vee. He won’t.”

“Why not?” // “Because he’s bad.”

✮ the next day, Lucas had gone back to get the ribbon. it was tattered and dirty so he’d went and bought a new one, pretending it was the same. Ivy was elated.

✮ when her dad had come back to get his things (a few months later— Ivy was nine by now) she saw him hit her mom.

✮ she’d ran up to Lucas’s room and let him hold her, burying her face in his neck and shaking.

“why’d he do that?” // “I don’t know, Veevee. I don’t know but I’ll protect you, okay?”

“I don’t think he’s coming back.” // “…yeah. Me neither.”

✮ When Ivy thought she was old enough to know what happened (thirteen), she’d asked Lucas (nineteen) about him. And he’d told her everything.

✮ it made Ivy feel sick, but she couldn’t stop herself from asking questions.

“Had he hit her before?” // “Yeah.”

“Did he hit you?” // “…only if I intervened.”

✮ when he’d told her that, she’d burst into tears and just wrapped him in the tightest hug. he’d been surprised for a moment until he’d felt her tears on his shirt and then he’d just sighed.

“I’m sorry I asked him to stay.” // “Don’t be. Mom let him.”

“But why?” // “She loved him. Or…wanted to. But he didn’t love us.”

“I’m sorry, Luke.” // “You don’t have to be.”

“You were a kid, Vee. // “So were you.”

✮ that was when he’d really stiffened, frozen completely, and then he’d crumpled and started crying, letting his own tears fall into her hair as he gave her the firmest hug he could.

“How are you so smart? You’re like ten.”

✮ she hadn’t responded. just hugged him tighter as they both cried.

✮ their dad had tried to come back a few times (because he got drunk / high…) but Ivy never knew (she wasn’t told) and he’d never asked about her.

✮ the only time she knew about this happening was when Ivy was fourteen and Lucas was twenty.

✮ Ivy had answered the door, and Lucas had been in the kitchen. He’d froze, dropping the glass he was holding, the perfect expression of controlled fear on his face.

✮ Ivy had paused, and she’d only looked back when their dad had addressed Lucas directly. Ivy barely even heard what he’d said, just caught that he’d said “scared, boy? Come here, let me get a look at you.”

✮ he’d pushed forward, and Ivy had pushed back, screaming in his face.

“No! You don’t get to talk to him!”

✮ Her dad had stilled, clearly furious. “I can talk to whoever I want. I’m your father.”

“No you’re not. You haven’t been my dad in years.”

✮ That had pissed him off, and before she could react, he’d grabbed her by the front of her shirt and tugged her close.

“Listen here you little brat—“

She could hear Lucas taking a step forward. “Get your hands off her!”

“Shut up!”

✮ Ivy had just barely managed to not flinch back at how close he was as he screamed. She just stood there and let him yell in her face, and when he was done, she just whispered “you’re not my dad. you’re a pathetic excuse for a human with a smaller dick than your brain.”

✮ Her dad’s grip on her shirt tightened. “Let me talk to the boy.”

✮ She could hear Lucas’s breath catch behind her. He’d never admit to being scared, but she didn’t have to look behind her to know he was.

“No. You don’t get to. You’re going to leave, now, or I’m going to call the police.”

“You’re protecting him? You’re protecting him from me? I’m his father!”

“No, you’re not. You’re an abusive sonofabitch, and he’s a far better man than you’ll ever be!”

“You’re just like your bitch of a mother,” he spat, shoving her with so much force it sent her stumbling backwards. “Forget it. He’s not worth it anyway.”

✮ oh, fuck no. she wasn’t going to let that be the last thing Lucas heard.

“He’s more worth it than you! He’s more of a father than you ever were and it wasn’t even his job to be. So just get OUT!! Get out and don’t come back, just fucking LEAVE!!”

✮ it took some more screaming and shoving, but he did eventually leave.

✮ Once he was gone, she shut the door and slumped against it with a sigh. she turned to where Lucas was standing in the kitchen, staring at her with wide eyes. He looked terrified, very uncharacteristically so. She could see his hands shaking.

“Are you okay?” He stepped forward, pausing a few feet in front of her, hands hovering as though he wanted to touch her but wasn’t sure if he’d be allowed.

“Did he hurt you?” // “No, I-..I’m fine.”

“You didn’t have to do that. He could’ve-...” // “I won’t let him hurt you. Never again. Not when I stood by so much.”

“It’s not your job to protect me. That should be the other way around.” // “It’s not your job either. You’re not my dad.”

“Yeah, but you deserve to have one.” // “Not if he sucks.”

✮ Ivy didn’t feel jealous of all the other girls who had good dads from then on. She had her brother— that was enough for her.

✮ after what almost happened to Natalie and what did happen to Javi, she decided she’d just commit.

✮ she knew people were still hungry, food was still scarce, and she didn’t even know if her brother would want her to come back.

✮ she’d always felt like a burden to him— he had to work to take care of her, and her mother did too.

✮ sometimes Ivy felt more like Lucas’s daughter and her mom’s sister.

✮ (Ivy and Lucas had fought about this before she left; but more on that later)

✮ the other girls (save for Robin, Akilah, Nat, and like…Travis SOMETIMES (he didn’t show it ever)) didn’t seem to care one way or another.

✮ she wasn’t even supposed to be at nationals anyway (more on this later~)

✮ with everyone starving, she was, once again, just another mouth someone had to feed.

✮ this way, she’d be one less thing to worry about. she’d rest. she’d be saved, like the old pastor always said she would be.

✮ this way, maybe nobody else would be “sacrificed to the wilderness”. maybe it wouldn’t want blood anymore.

✮ Ivy took a page from her sketchbook and wrote a note to all the yellowjackets (like the collective but w/ individual people addressed), Lucas, her mom, Robin, Natalie, and Travis.

✮ the notes DID explain where she was and what she was doing at the lake. some of the notes (the more personal ones that were addressed individually) also briefly mentioned that she felt like a burden :(

✮ Ivy wrote her notes over the span of a few days. Then, one night, she snuck out to the lake in a thin nightgown. no shoes, no socks, hair loose…

✮ she ran through the snow, not wanting to be caught. her feet got all cut up on the branches and rocks but she didn’t feel a thing

✮ once she got there, she knelt down and broke a hole in the ice that was somewhat close to the shore.

✮ after a while of staring at the water, she muttered the holy prayer under her breath, she submerged herself whilst clutching a rosary that LL had given to her.

✮ It was so cold she almost blacked out immediately, but she managed to keep consciousness and stare up at the sky until she saw someone looming over her. She couldn’t tell who— it just looked like a blobby shadow.

✮ poor girl was seeing her brother!! (ok I might’ve gotten the idea for this part from @pb-n-jen (GO CHECK OUT THEIR OC!!) I’m sorry I’ll change it if you want but I was inspired…)

✮ anyway Ivy was hallucinating Lucas, hearing his voice crack as he was told that his sister, his baby sister, his Vee, didn’t survive. She was imagining him crying, having lost someone else. She heard him begging for her to “breathe. breathe, damnit!”

✮ she imagined the other girls, realizing they’d lost another somebody to the cold. she saw Ben’s horror, Shauna and Lottie’s numb shock, saw Akilah holding her while Natalie screamed for a helpless Misty to “do something!!”

✮ She saw Van hiding their face in Tai’s neck and Travis pressing Nat’s face in his shoulder when she gave up trying and just cried.

✮ she imagined Britt telling her it was the cowards way out. She heard Robin asking her why she left, pleading for her to come back…

✮ and she realized she was being an idiot. she couldn’t do this. she had to survive. for her brother. for all of them.

✮ she tried to pull herself up back onto the shore, feeling increasingly weak, but the adrenaline helped her.

✮ and also the fact that she’d broken the surface long enough to scream. or…try to— all that came out were gasps for air and groans of exertion punctuated by the occasional cough as she spit up water.

✮ she was able to drag herself over to the shore and half drape herself on it. the bottom half of her was still submerged in the water.

✮ she heard footsteps, then a strangled cry and a whispered “holy shit.”

✮ she opened her eyes long enough to get another glimpse of Lucas (who wasn’t there). She saw someone’s hand being offered to her, and she took it.

✮ She heard Laura Lee and Jackie, felt them guiding her to the shore, almost pushing her up.

✮ you know those animatics of Epic The Musical where Polities, Eurylochus, and Odysseus’s mom push him back up to the surface in Get In The Water? I imagine it kind of like that !!

✮ she managed to weakly grasp the offered hand— Natalie’s from the feel of it— and she very unceremoniously yanked her up onto the shore.

✮ She curled up on the shore, shaking and coughing up water, gaspy sort of sobs and whines leaving her that just sounded pathetic. When she opened her eyes, she saw Natalie, Van, and Tai all standing there staring at her with varying expressions of horror, anger, sadness, and shock.

✮ They continued to stare at her for a minute until Ivy tried to speak. all that came out was a weak, pitiful “hi.”

✮ Natalie finally reached out and lifted Ivy’s head so she’d look at her. She looked furious, and Ivy felt like she’d wilt under her gaze if she didn’t let up.

“Never,” she all but growled, poking a finger into her shoulder for emphasis, “ever do that again.”

Ivy smiled, weakly. “What, y-..you don’t want your f..first act as queen to be a burial?”

Natalie scoffed, but it did nothing to hide the way her voice shook when she spoke again. “Maybe I just don’t want you to die, you idiot.”

✮ Ivy didn’t quite know what to say to that, so she didn’t say anything at all. Instead, she just dropped her head down to rest on Natalie’s knee and closed her eyes before she started crying.

✮ Natalie nudged her to keep her awake. “No, you don’t get to sleep. Can you walk?”

“I c-can try.”

✮ once Ivy was standing, she sort of swayed, and she was shaking so hard that it looked like she’d collapse right then and there.

✮ she leaned on Natalie for a moment, just to regain her balance, but was surprised by the way Nat tugged her to her side.

“Don’t do that again.” // “I..I won’t.”

✮ long story short, Van and Tai help her to the cabin, where she was quickly ushered into the attic, much to everyone else’s relief.

✮ as much as they wanted to see her, they didn’t know what to say. how do you comfort someone who just tried to kill themself?

✮ Nat offered to help with the bath again because, well, she’d already done it once.

✮ (plus there can only be one homoerotic bathtub scene, and that award goes to LottieNat.)

✮ Natalie and her sat in relative silence, with Ivy shivering and avoiding her gaze. Not because she was uncomfortable, but if she saw the look on Nat’s face, the mix of pity and concern and fear, she was certain that she’d cry

✮ finally, Natalie spoke:

“You scared the shit out of me, y’know.” She paused. “Scared the shit out of a lot of us, really. Coach Ben’s probably got gray hairs now.”

The joke was well meaning, she knew it, but it just made her feel worse. Nat shouldn’t have to comfort her, not after she’d done this. She didn’t deserve it.

Ivy swallowed and managed to croak out a soft “I thought I was helping. I..I thought maybe it’d be better if I were gone. T-..this way you wouldn’t have to sacrifice anyone else.”

“Is that what you think? We’d be better off?”

She nodded, unable to meet Natalie’s gaze. The other girl just scoffed again, laughing quietly; humorlessly, and it had Ivy’s head snapping up before she could think twice about it.

“You should’ve seen them once they found your notes. You wouldn’t be saying that then.”

She didn’t want to ask. But she had to. “Who’s they?”

“Robin and Travis.”

Robin had been expected, but Travis’s name had her eyes widening. Natalie caught it, and she sighed.

“The only reason Travis wasn’t us searching for you with us was because Robin had started crying. It was like she went catatonic; she wouldn’t respond to any of us.”

✮ Ivy didn’t believe in ANY of Lottie’s bullshit at first

✮ she lowkey thought Lottie was on drugs (like acid or something, not prescriptions) during the scene where she slammed her head into the glass and..all that.

✮ did she talk shit with Robin about it? Yes. Was Ivy worried? Also yes.

✮ (ironically enough, Ivy never suspected Nat to be the one on acid— pegged her as a cool stoner instead.)

✮ anyway Ivy stayed out of all of the wilderness shit until she noticed that Lottie seemed calmer.

✮ When she asked why, Laura Lee explained that the lord had claimed her (aka the baptism) and Ivy was HOOKED.

✮ she’d grown up going to church after all— maybe this was what she needed to cleanse herself!

✮ she really debated it for a while, but didn’t want to do anything religious after Laura Lee’s death.

✮ then Jackie died, and she lost even more hope. Then Javi.

✮ what spurred her to do it was a nightmare where her brother (Lucas) told her she was a burden, and Laura Lee and Jackie and Javi held her as she drowned.

✮ “It saved you,” Lottie murmured. Ivy stared at her, waiting for her to continue, hoping her eyes would convey the thoughts she couldn’t voice. What’s “it?”, she pleaded, wordlessly begging.

Miraculously, Lottie understood. “The Wilderness,” she whispered. “It didn’t want you to die. That’s why it woke Natalie up. It’s why she found your note.”

✮ Ivy thought this was absolute bullshit. But when Ivy looked at Lottie she saw fear. And maybe the other girl just wanted to keep her alive. She figured there was nothing wrong with that.

✮ besides, maybe a part of her liked the clinginess it brought upon Robin, the way the other girl would refuse to let go of her unless she had to.

✮ when it came to Nat’s sacrifice…hoooo boy. I’m planning a whole other post about that.

✮ rationally, yes, she knew it wasn’t Lottie’s fault, but she didn’t feel good about the fact that Lottie (/ Laura Lee, but LL is dead and it’s hard to blame those who are gone) started all this.

✮ first, some backstory ✮

✮ the drinks in doomcoming are spiked. duh. But Ivy absolutely refused to take even the smallest drink because of what happened to her brother, Lucas.

✮ her brother’s friend had called her from a house party and told her that he was super sick, that someone had put something in his drink and that they’d found him beaten up in the backyard.

✮ nameless friend brought Lucas back to Ivy’s house. Her mom wasn’t home (she works overnight shifts a lot), so Ivy ended up helping Lucas to the bathroom and stayed there with him all night.

✮ Lucas faded in and out of unconsciousness and throwing up. Ivy did her best to coax him to drink water and eat some small saltines, but she truly just sat with him all night on the cold floor of the bathroom.

✮ he kept saying he was seeing things. “Don’t you see it there? It’s right there!”

✮ Ivy just kept trying to reassure him— “stop it, Luke. I-it’s just me! I’m right—I’m right here, what are you TALKING ABOUT?!”

✮ she’d never been more scared in her life. Ivy had thought he was going to die, but they couldn’t exactly afford to take him to the hospital.

✮ when he woke up, he’d seen that Ivy was sitting by him, crying. She hadn’t slept at all.

✮ Once she’d realized he was awake (and, y’know, actually conscious), she’d just wrapped him in a tight hug and sobbed into his shoulder.

✮ “Vee, kid, im fine. Its alright. You didn’t really think I was gonna die, did’ja?”

✮ Ivy was eleven at the time btw!! and her brother was seventeen!! that shit just stuck with her forever

✮ backstory over !! ✮

✮ ivy’d gotten very used to sniff-testing any drink that she didn’t make. When she smelled the actual refreshments for Doomconing, she had a feeling that something was off, but she’d been told to calm down, and to not be a fun sponge.

✮ “Who would spike a drink in the wilderness?” // “Nobody’s that psychotic!” // “Yeah, Ive, don’t worry. It’s just us here. Nobody’d do that.”

✮ As I mentioned in this post, Ivy dressed up for Robin during doomcoming!

✮ She actually ended up asking her to dance, to which Robin said yes, and they were having a good time until Ivy saw Jackie dip off, and that’s when the two of them had their conversation (also linked in this post.)

✮ Ivy broke off from the conversation with Jackie when she heard Robin calling her name.

✮ “Ivy? I-..I think something’s wrong.” *sniff* “I think you were right about the drinks.”

(i might write this as a fic or something, lmk if you’re interested in that <3)

✮ Ivy (who was currently panicking), helped Robin over to a bush and held her hair back while the other girl emptied the contents of her stomach into a bush

✮ Ivy was entirely losing it at this point, and when Robin started saying she was seeing things, Ivy walked with her into the cabin and just sat with her in the common space

✮ she completely started crying, all but pleading Robin to just listen to her.

✮ “Robbie, honey, there’s nothing there. “It’s” not here. But I’m here. Focus on me, okay? Please.”

✮ This means that neither Ivy nor Robin were involved with the sexual assault scene (context for why both are around Travis during season 2 + 3)

✮ (this also means that neither saw Javi leave)

✮ when Travis came back to the cabin, Robin was asleep next to Ivy. When she heard him enter, she came out of the other room.

✮ As much as she wanted to ask if he was okay, she just handed him a blanket.

✮ “Robin’s sleeping over there. I’ll keep the others away from ya, alright?”

✮ when the rest of the group got back (and were mostly sober), Ivy walked in.

✮ “So. Which one of you spiked the drink? Cause that’s what happened, isn’t it?”

✮ Mari admitted that she’d put the mushrooms in, thinking they were normal.

✮ “Well, who found them?”

✮ Misty admitted to it, and Ivy lost her shit. She started screaming at the girl. She punched her once, square in the jaw, and continued to yell at her once she’d fallen.

✮ “What if they were poisonous? You all could’ve died, and for what?! Cause you wanted to roofie our teacher? You’re fucking insane, Misty! Absolutely fucking insane!”

✮ eventually, Britt had managed to pull her off, saying that “Misty’s not worth it.” Ivy had scoffed and turned to leave.

✮ “Robin could’ve died. If anything would’ve happened to her, I would’ve killed you (Misty) where you stood.”

𝓘𝓿𝔂 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓜𝓲𝓼𝓽𝔂

✮ Ivy didn’t talk to Misty a whole lot before the crash but always kind of felt bad for her because none of the other girls really liked her

✮ there were a few times where Ivy helped Misty pick up things she’d dropped (like a classic meet cute, for visuals) in the hallway

✮ one day after school both girls were studying in the library. Misty walked in, but all the tables were either taken, or people made them LOOK full so she wouldn’t have a place to sit

✮ Ivy waved her over and told her to sit. The two talked a little— mostly about music. (Ivy said she’d been thinking of joining theater and that sent Misty off.)

✮ Ivy actually thought Misty was actually pretty alright, but never really showed that because she didn’t want to be made fun of. She’d still wave and smile in the hallways, and she’d make room for her when nobody else was around.

✮ After the crash, Ivy was almost horrified by Misty, seeing how she chopped off Ben’s leg.

✮ Something in Ivy didn’t trust her to be the resident doctor, but whatever— she seemed happy, right?

✮ After doomcoming, Ivy actually punched and shoved Misty to the ground, screaming at her.

✮ Ivy would have gotten into a real physical altercation with her (s2Shauna and Lottie esque) had she not been held back.

✮ Ivy never forgave Misty for spiking the punch, even though she herself didn’t drink it (acquiring the mushrooms, all that)

✮ Ivy was hostile towards Misty ever since then, either ignoring her or being intentionally short.

✮ after Misty came back without Crystal, Ivy had sensed something was off. she didn’t doubt that Misty was actually sad and crying, but it still felt…off

✮ she’d joked “Jeez, Mist. It’s not like you pushed her”, but hadn’t expected Misty to start crying so quickly.

✮ Ivy ended up just giving Misty an awkward sort of hug until she calmed down.

✮ “You better now?” // “I think so”

✮ Ivy went back to not talking to Misty, but she wasn’t as mean. She even went along with the searches for Crystal’s body.

✮ on one trip, Ivy had climbed a tree to get a better look and had cut her hands. Misty was the bandage her up.

✮ “so, does this mean you forgive me for the whole berry thing?” // “In your dreams, Quigley.”

✮ they were civil after that, and kind of just went back to being friends.

✮ they interacted a few times throughout season three, but nothing too notable happened

✮ Ivy let Misty cry on her after Coach Ben’s death / execution

✮ Ivy wasn’t super involved with the plan to repair the transmitter, so her and Misty didn’t talk a whole lot

★ Ivy and Jackie didn’t talk a whole lot throughout the beginning of their time in the wilderness

★ when the group was at the lake, Ivy’d been staring a little bit because, well, holy shit she was gay.

★ Britt noticed, which then alerted Robin, and they dared Ivy to go talk to her.

★ she was going to, but Jackie saw her coming over and she totally chickened out. Britt teased her relentlessly. Ivy blamed her red face on the lack of sunscreen.

★ Ivy and Jackie only really spoke in passing. Ivy asked if she was okay every so often because she noticed a slight dip in her mood. Jackie either lied and said yes or just told her not to worry about it.

★ The first real conversation they ever had was before Doomcoming. Ivy wasn’t very good with makeup and had very timidly, asked Jackie to help her, to which she agreed.

★ Ivy kind of sat there and fidgeted while Jackie worked her magic until Jackie asked “dressing up for anybody?”

★ to this, Ivy quietly replied: “Robin,” and Jackie went quiet. Ivy thought she’d said something wrong, but then Jackie had just shrugged and smiled.

★ “Good for you. Wish I had that sort of confidence.”

★ Ivy wanted to ask what she meant, but was scared to upset her, so she just flushed and looked down.

★ “You’re kidding, right? I wish I was more like you.”

★ “No you don’t, Parker. No you don’t.”

★ When Jackie finished, she smiled up at her. “Go get her.”

★ Ivy had smiled and given a little salute. “Yes ma’am!”

★ Sometime during Doomcoming (before she fucked Travis, before all of the assault stuff) Ivy was sitting outside and sketching. Jackie came out and sighed. “Not another journal.”

★ “sketchbook, actually.”

★ Ivy had looked a little worried at this point because Jackie had looked visibly upset. She’d tried to lessen the tensions.

★ “You look really pretty.” Pause. “Jeff’s a lucky guy.”

★ Jackie had sort of winced when she brought up Jeff. “Yeah, he is.”

★ Ivy’d felt awful, so she’d just dropped it. The two had sat in a sort of awkward silence until Jackie broke it again and asked about Robin.

★ The most notable part of the conversation was Ivy asking if she was okay again, and Jackie just shrugging it off. “I’ll be happy when I’m dead.”

★ Ivy had froze, horrified, and shed given Jackie an awkward sort of side hug before hearing Robin call her name. “Good luck with Travis.”

★ during the Shauna fight, Ivy was standing off to the back with Robin, horrified. She didn’t say anything because she was scared to go against the group.

★ Ivy could see the signs of Jackie’s depression / suicidal ideation and didn’t know what to do about it.

★ When she saw that Jackie had went outside, she was really worried. Robin and Britt had tried to convince her to go outside, but she’d just turned away.

★ “I think this is what she wants. I think she wants to be alone.”

★ when she woke up the next day and Jackie was dead, she just felt numb. She let Robin cry into her shoulder and stood there blankly for a little too long before she turned away and led Robin inside.

★ she went to the meat shed a few times, both in mourning and to avoid the other girls.

★ she’d drawn a drawing of Jackie and wrote “I hope you’re happier up there” on the back of it. She tucked it on the inside of her jacket.

★ when it came to actually eating Jackie, she could barely make herself to it. she just closed her eyes and apologized over and over and over, squeezing Robin’s hand tight.

★ she blamed it on survival. thats what it was. she couldn't blame herself for it, not when Jackie had let it happen.
