The Minish looked up sheepishly, one foot scuffing at the countertop. Its signs were small, timid. "You've figured it out, then?"

"I fig–no..." Hyrule spluttered, then exploded. "Figured what out? Link Wild is Hylian! I'm sure he is! But you're Minish, so you can't be him! Except I've never felt anyone else's food sing like that, so you have to be him! I just–" He dug both hands into his curly hair, trying to distract himself from his confusion. "How??" he pleaded.

Delicate features hardened. "Curse," it spat, face twisted, hand clawing toward its throat before pulling away abruptly. "One day I'm big, running the restaurant, enjoying the flow of customers. I close the restaurant, go to sleep. Next thing I know? BANG!" He slammed his paws together, making Hyrule jump. "I wake up, tiny, lost, alone."

The Minish – Chef Wild?? – panted harshly, wound tighter than a bowstring, before the tension bled from his body. He sank tiredly to the floor, scrubbing at his face before he could continue. "I found other Minish, good with magic and curses. But they need time, and to know who cast it. They pointed me to the river, to find my way back.

"That's when I found you," he looked up, hope in his eyes. "I remember you, with your crepes and your song. You can feel it, you understand.”

“Understand…what?”

“That’s cooking is an art! One to be shared with the world!” The little Minish sobered. “I need to get back. To the restaurant, to my life, to putting good back into the world. Will you help me?”

Hyrule stared. Gulped. Blew out an incredulous breath. 

Link Wild wasn’t dead. Not even close. He was tiny, cursed, and in Hyrule’s house. They’d cooked together. Successfully!

The setting sun caught his attention. “Can…can I have the night to think about it?” he finally asked, still totally overwhelmed. 

The Minish nodded.

Hyrule got ready for bed in a daze. Pajamas, brush teeth, make a bed for Chef Wild out of a tea towel and his only hot pad, put it in the sill with a good view of the local goddess statue, lay on the couch and try not to catastrophize…

Sleep stole across his mind before he could say the word Minish.

Velociraptors are scary but really they aren't that scary because they can't change speed. They always move at exactly the same rate, so they're predictable and you can avoid them. The real one to look out for is the acceleraptor

Guys what if the wolfie reveal went ever so slightly differently and twilight's transformation abilities weren't found out to be tied to the necklace he has? And then Wind depending on whether or not you imagine he's heard stories about selkies has come to the conclusion Twilight is a weird land selkie. Because he's always carrying around the wolf pelt and clearly that's what one would think would be connected to the wolf transformation. So now Wind is just trying his hardest to never let Twilight lose his pelt at all costs. Twilight has no clue about the conclusion Wind has drawn.

This somehow leads to a whole slew of shenaniganry.
