a friend said this to me and I think it's quite possibly one of the saddest, most gut wrenching things I've ever heard. I can't explain how much it killed me to hear that. It felt like being pounded in the chest with the sharp end of a shovel over and over again.

Okay. So I was on Instagram, as one is, and I saw a reel essentially asking, of the four who who you would chose to protect you from the other three (who are hunting you for some reason). However, I lost the fucking reel and I'm so pissed because I was going to leave an in depth comment.

I then remembered that Tumblr exists. So you guys are going to get my in depth response to that question because I have thoughts about this.

I'm by no means an expert on fighting or battle strategy or whatever so this may be completely incorrect but this is who I would chose, as a laymen, and why, or why not.

First off, Barrage. Immediately eliminating him from my pool of potential protectors. Mostly because I don't know enough about him, and what I do know doesn't inspire me with much confidence. He's just some sc operator. He's not particularly special. All the sc operators have this skin in the campaign, he's technically not even his own person, or his own character. I'm going based off of the assumption that he is just a boot on the ground, grunt type of guy that became part of a PMC after his time in the military. Pitting him against three special forces guys does not seem like a smart move. Sorry Barrage.

Now it gets interesting. Three spec ops dudes.

We'll start with Horangi. I do not think he is to be underestimated, in any capacity. A lot of the comments I saw underneath the original reel lumped him in with Barrage as being useless. Which is absolutely absurd. If you know anything about him you know that he was a part of the ROK's 13th Special Mission Brigade. Also known as The Decapitation Unit. These guys are fucking hardcore. They take out high value targets (like military and political leaders! well protected targets), and they do it efficiently. He clearly has to have a level head for this sort of job. Horangi is a great candidate.

Next is König. His backstory has had some changing around, but I'm going to go based off of him being Austrian and part of the Jagdkommando. Like other special forces units, they undergo intensive training. We take into account now König's role in the Jagdkommando. He's big, and brash, and his job is being the spearhead, the battering ram. I don't think he's very concerned with being sneaky, and probably has a rather aggressive approach. This may work in some situations, but if I'm being chased and have to hide, I don't know that he's my first choice. He's still a decent candidate, he's clearly skilled at what he does, I'm just not sure that in this hypothetical scenario, that he is what I need.

Lastly, we have Ghost. Now, we know the most about him, which makes him easier to dissect as a choice. Obviously, as a part of the SAS, he has undergone rigorous training, same as the others. What gives him an edge, is that Ghost is a lot more precise, and strategic about everything he does. Whereas I think König is more of a 'brute force' type of guy. Ghost would also have the skillset to take out high value targets quickly, quietly, and efficiently. A skill he shares with Horangi.

In the end, it really boils down to Horangi or Ghost for me. This is when I start looking at more of the intricacies. Horangi's job was to eliminate high value targets. Ghost does that too. However, Ghost also has experience in protecting targets, and dealing with hostage situations. So, my final answer is Ghost. Horangi as a close second, though.

Got to thinking about if we were to get a movie about Simon Riley (unlikely, but a guy can dream), and I came to the realization that I'd never want him to be played by some hotshot a-lister. COD Sexuality HCs for Gay Month

(ghosts edition, as promised)

• David Hesh Walker: Had a homophobic moment in middle school for sureee. I think he's only ever dated women, but is in some capacity attracted to men too. It's just really repressed. He's gotten over his homophobia when it applies to other people, but not when it applies to himself, ya get me?

• Logan Walker: Bisexual. Sweet bisexual man. That's all. He came out to Hesh when they were younger, and that was what Hesh needed to turn around his attitude about queer people.

• Elias Walker: I hate this bitch. I think he's either straight, or he's very closeted. Like, he had an affair with a man when he was on deployment, but he refuses to acknowledge that, and is probably outwardly homophobic because of his own insecurities about liking men. Which is why I think Hesh would struggle so much with his own sexuality (have you seen how much he looks up to his dad?)

• Keegan Russ: Listen. This may be controversial, I may be projecting, or just desperate for representation, however, I do get aro-ace vibes from him. Demiromantic and Ace maybe. Not sex repulsed, though, he'll take it when it's offered. As for gender preference, I don't think he gives a shit. He doesn't label himself. He just exists. (Also for the record I think he had a thing for Ajax. I don't think it went anywhere, but I think he harbored some affections for the guy.)

• Thomas Merrick: He was in the Navy, nuff said. Kidding, I do think he's gay though. Couldn't tell you why, he just gives me those vibes and I'm gay so I'm right. He gives me cool gay uncle that rides a Harley vibes and I absolutely love that for him.

• Alex Ajax Johnson: We really don't know much about Ajax, except that he was close with Keegan (they served in the corps together pre-tf stalker). He's also just a fucking badass lmfao. I have so much respect for Ajax, and I really wish we could have seen more of him. I'm tempted to say he's pan. I don't think gender really factors into it for him. Much like Keegan, I don't think he's interested in labels. He doesn't talk about it. It's not a big deal for him. The type to off handedly mention his boyfriend if he had one like it was no big deal.

Something that I think about far too often, is the fact that Keegan (Russ) was supposedly born in 1989, but was also supposedly part of operation Sand Viper in 2005. He would have been 16 at the time. I'm not a genius but I feel like that's not? Possible? Esp considering the fact that he would have, at the time of operation Sand Viper, already been in the military for some time. I know it's probably just a whoopsie moment but it bothers me. It makes me think. The theories here are endless.

Headcanon that he's a lying bitch and he's actually a lot older than he says he is LOL he just thinks it makes him more mysterious if he lies about it. "Never let them know your next move."

• Simon Ghost Riley: First of all this man is aro-ace spec, demisexual/demiromantic perhaps (what? no. im not projecting). Man kisser. He likes boys.

• John Soap MacTavish: That's a bisexual if I've ever seen one. Slight preference towards men, but for the most part, if he thinks you're attractive he'll hit on you. Man or woman, doesn't matter. I don't think I need to say much here. He's just a bisexual man, case closed.

• Kyle Gaz Garrick: Also bisexual, but I'm gonna say he's a bit of a ladies man. I just get that vibe from him. He is dancing with all the girls in the club, and they are eating it up.

• John Price: There's one of two options here. Gay, and Straight. I'm sorry, I can not see an in between. I don't know why. I think it's just one or the other here. He's either the gayest man you've ever seen (bear btw), with a husband at home, or he's very respectfully a straight man with a wife at home.

• Alex Keller: Golden retriever bisexual. Case closed. No preference. Might actually be pansexual but doesn't care enough to look into it. He likes whoever, and when he likes them, he's the fucking sweetest man ever about it. He's incredibly romantic. I have strong feelings about this one. Pry this headcanon straight out of my cold dead hands I dare you.

• Farah Karim: I also get demisexual/demiromantic vibes from her. I don't think she's even worried about finding a partner, tbh. She is very devoted to the ULF, and outside of that doesn't make it a priority to find a partner. As for gender preference, I don't think she has one. Very much so 'I'll end up with whoever I end up with and I'm gonna love them' vibes.

• Alejandro Vargas: Raging bisexual. So many bisexuals but you know I'm right. Look at him, and then look at Rudy, and tell me they're not married. As for why he's bisexual and not gay? Idk? Vibes. You tell me.

• Rodolfo Rudy Parra: Gay your honor!! Gay!! Gay, and married to Alejandro. That's it. He crushed on Alejandro for most of his young adulthood. He's still crushing on Alejandro.

• Valeria Garza: Lesbian! She doesn't care for men. Very 'fuck the patriarchy' as well imo. Very proud about who she is, though I don't think she advertises it.

• Phillip Graves: Homosexual. Gay man. Boy kisser. Extremely closeted though, even well into adulthood. Being brought up in the south, I think he was definitely raised Christian. He was also raised in a very conservative small town. Like, the closest Walmart is an hour away typa small town. So he's got a lot of shit to work through internally. I think he even has an ex-wife that he was never truly in love with. You couldn't pry this one out of my cold, dead, gay, country boy hands if you tried. I will never stop pushing the gay graves agenda.
