Trusting God When Life Doesnāt Make Sense š¤
Hey friend, letās talk about something real todayāthose seasons of life when things just donāt make sense. You know, when youāre doing all the right things, praying faithfully, showing up, giving your best⦠and yet, life just feels confusing, maybe even a little chaotic. If youāve been there (or maybe youāre there right now), youāre not alone. š„ŗš
One thing Iāve learned? Trusting God when things are uncertain is hard. Itās uncomfortable, and sometimes it feels like youāre free-falling. But hereās the truth: God is in every detail, even the messy, confusing, āwhy is this happening?ā moments.
Letās dive into some truths about trusting Him through the twists and turns of life.
1. God Has a PlanāEven When You Canāt See It
Youāve probably heard it a thousand times: God has a plan for you! But when youāre in the middle of a storm, those words can feel empty, right? Itās hard to remember that God is weaving a plan when all we see is the tangled mess in front of us. But Scripture reminds us, āFor I know the plans I have for you,ā says the Lord, āplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a futureā (Jeremiah 29:11).
Godās plan doesnāt mean life will always be easy. It means that every trial, every unexpected change, is part of a bigger story. Think of it like a beautiful tapestry: from the back, all we see is a tangle of threads. But from the front, itās a masterpiece. God sees that masterpiece, even when all we see is the mess. šØāØ
2. Itās Okay to Ask Questions (God Can Handle Them!)
Sometimes we feel like we need to have it all together, to put on a brave face and act like everythingās okay. But God welcomes our questions. Heās big enough for our doubts and fears. Remember Jesus on the cross? Even He cried out, āMy God, my God, why have you forsaken me?ā (Matthew 27:46). If Jesus asked questions, so can we.
When Iām struggling to trust God, Iāve learned to be honest in my prayers. I tell Him, āGod, I donāt understand this. Iām scared. I feel lost.ā And in those raw, honest moments, I feel His peace and His presence. Heās not asking for a polished prayer; He just wants you to bring your heart to Him. š
3. Embrace the Waiting Season
If thereās one thing we all dislike, itās waiting. Waiting feels like time is standing still. But hereās a thought: what if the waiting season is a preparation season? Maybe God is using this time to strengthen your faith, to deepen your character, or to prepare you for something greater.
Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, āBut those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.ā Waiting isnāt passive; itās actively trusting that God is working behind the scenes. š°ļøāØ
4. Look Back at His Faithfulness
Whenever I find myself struggling to trust God, I look back at all the times Heās shown up in my life. Think back to a time when He answered a prayer, when He provided in an unexpected way, or when He brought the right people into your life. Those are reminders that He is faithful. And if He was faithful then, He will be faithful now. š«
Create a āfaith journalā if you donāt already have one. Write down moments of His goodness, prayers Heās answered, and ways Heās shown up in your life. Itās amazing how those reminders of His past faithfulness can give us the strength to trust Him in the present.
5. Choose Faith Over Fear (One Day at a Time)
Letās be real: trusting God is often a daily choice. Itās not something we decide once and then never struggle with again. Fear is going to come knocking. Doubts will creep in. But we have the choice to say, āToday, Iām going to trust God, even if I donāt understand what Heās doing.ā
Matthew 6:34 tells us, āDo not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.ā Focus on trusting God for today. And then, when tomorrow comes, trust Him again. Little by little, day by day, youāll find that trusting Him becomes part of who you are. š
Final Thoughts: Trusting Godās Hand Even When You Canāt See His Plan
Friend, I know life doesnāt always go according to plan. There will be unexpected turns, hard days, and seasons that just donāt make sense. But if thereās one thing Iāve learned, itās that God is faithful through it all. He sees what we canāt, and Heās guiding us, even when the way is unclear.
So, if youāre in a season of doubt, remember that you donāt have to have it all figured out. Just bring your heart to God, even if itās full of questions. Trust that Heās working, even in the waiting. And hold onto the hope that, one day, it will all make sense. š
Letās keep encouraging each other, praying for each other, and trusting that Godās plan is bigger and better than we can imagine.
