A short time after a major event in the Multiverse, Ink approaches Blue and gives him ... a small handbook. It's leatherbound and worn, and looks much older than Blue gets the impression that it probably is.

The pages are dense and indecipherable - some are ramblings, some are poems, some still are ideas for universes and even general alterations to preexisting stories; "to make them more interesting", a note in the margins said. It wouldn't be too much of an issue in-and-of itself if the ideas weren't always ... disturbing. Or destructive. Or sometimes just didn't make any sense at all.

Intrigued and driven by a want to make sure the book is actually 'safe' (it isn't), Blue decides to read through and catalogue its contents.

The contents of the book at large do follow a few specific rules, despite their chaos. 'You' is seemingly always capitalized, 'I' and 'Me' are used sparingly, and third-person is reserved strictly for specific ideas. Every page is glitched with a black strip, and pages rarely stay in the same spot more than once - you just ... always happen to find what you're looking for.

In trying to show the book to others, Blue finds that in addition to all of this, he is the only one capable of reading and comprehending the book. At best, another person can recite one or two basic facts if read aloud to them, but at worst, they don't even want to look at the book.

It's "not their place". Whatever that means. Blue doesn't know.

He keeps it on his person - it's safer that way, anyway. At least once monthly, he sits down and pours over its contents, attempting to glean meaning from it. Sometimes pages appear, sometimes they disappear, and any note he tries to write in the book itself just melts off (he's taken to writing on pieces of paper instead).

Asking Ink isn't an option either; He either doesn't remember handing the book over at all, or flat out refuses to talk about it and changes the subject. He's learned to drop it, over time.

Some nights, when its just him and the book and several glowing stars on his bedroom ceiling, he finds himself talking to it as if it can answer him. Asking it what its purpose is, if it has one at all - what, exactly, it was built to do.

Of course, a book never responds. It's just him, the stars, and the inkBlotted pages.

HELLO!!! Morally Blue person here - back again with a lil update :D

So far, the document is now looking more like this LMAO (this is the culmination of the prelude and the first arc (out of ... several)).

SO we're moving!!! To answer some of your previous questions tho!

Yeah, Blot is Ink's corrupted form! Technically, he exists for about 10 minutes before Ink becomes "Ink" again ... but it doesn't really go away. You can't just unbecome a glitch, so it's kind of a looming threat (and the trigger for it is very meta because I LOVE metatextual writing). The idea is that Ink is a vessel for the Creators - for us! He is a soulless, emotionless being that we can puppeteer to make our own ideas a reality because he has to be empty to create; people that are capable of feeling that can also create don't tend to turn out well (i mean, just look at XGaster). As such, Ink is made that way but he doesn't know it. He's not allowed to know about the Creators, he's not allowed to know that what he creates is (for the most part) just our will, and all of this stuff comes at the cost of his memory (which is why his memory is so terrible in Morally Blue)! But when Blot comes around, he's now capable of creating his own ideas from nothing, and he doesn't have to listen to the Creators anymore. Not just that, but he's allowed to learn of and comprehend our existance. That's all well and good... except that if it kept going, eventually he'd deviate from a path that keeps the Multiverse running and everything would crash and burn (not to mention he's absolutely insane (and very rightfully mad now that he knows what he is) and as such, very very dangerous).

NIGHTMARE!!! He's such an interesting character imo and I hate him (/only mildly affectionate). I read one of your interps of Nightmare was that cold, calculating, manipulative kind of guy and that is absolutely this kind of Nightmare. He doesn't know anything other than misery or hate (in that he was literally born from it), and he makes others miserable and hate in kind. HOWEVER, we over at Morally Blue HQ (/silly) also subscribe to the idea that Nightmare (the one that hates) and NIGHT (the boy that bit the apple) are two seperate people and sort of work as a parasite/host type of deal. There's a lot going on with him, but I am happy to report that we do kick Nightmare down the stairs /lh

YES! I always like (Goopy) Nightmare and Night being seen as separate characters and them having a parasitic dynamic! (Also lmao poor Nightmare, but also he deserves getting pushed down some stairs)

I have taken a look at all your Swaps and i adore them! I got notified a while ago by the post of one of the Swaps who was inspired by how i draw him (He's very cute btw, and i love the fact that he adopted the little ones ^^)

I had to revisit the blog so that i can see the rest of their info that i missed. And omg I also really like Cobalt! His design is really cool!! I also liked Topaz, Grape, and Ambrosia. They are all so Cool/Cute to me ^^ (Im absolutely eating up Ambrosia's design, his fit is really pretty)

Real life moment I had with my youngest sister when she was 7.

She used to say some crazy shit in her sleep, which I, as the lightest sleeper known to men, caught every single time. This was her most memorable sleep-talking moment.

GRAPE -> Resident Gremlin

A highly skilled member of the CoB, though you'd never guess it by the way he acts (on purpose!)

Helps out around the Omega Timeline, mostly with physical labour and coordination of large groups of people. Not quite crowd control, but he likes to think he is.

Enjoys building things, even if he's kind of bad with instructions. Point him in the right direction with a hammer, though, and he's second to none.

Incredibly proficient with his blasters, and if you let him, he'd wield them like guns. He doesn't, just because it's "disruptive" and "dangerous" and "a bad look on the Council".

Speaks his mind to an almost annoying degree, but it makes him very easy to speak to. He says what he means and means what he says, even if it's harsh.

Came to the Omega Timeline with his Chara after Error destroyed their universe just before they got to the surface. His Papyrus sacrificed himself to make sure that they got out safely, so he and Chara celebrate each year they continue to live in the Omega Timeline in his honour.

SCI -> The Actual Brain

I keep reading his name as SCP; honestly, not a poor description of him.

A very biology-focused guy with technological prowess and far too much curiosity. Helps out around the medical center and fixes systems, as well as training with and diagnosing issues.

Is a Junior Resident at the Medical Center.

Kind of aloof and shy, but he means well. He really does want friends, he's just kind of bad at making them.

Is constantly 'picked on' by Grape, though really, Grape acts more as his bodyguard than a bully. Sci appreciates it (and totally doesn't find it kind of attractive. totally.)

Has a nack for finding glitches and exploits in video games and systems and reverse engineering them to find out how they tick.

The same nack for finding glitches applies to the fabric of reality, where he pushed too far into his universe's code and, with the wrong press of a button, annihilated it in one go. Only his lab (the last remaining loaded room) and himself remained, where he stayed for a not-insignificant amount of time before Core Frisk found him and took him to the Omega Timeline.

Resident badass and his not cube-shaped companion. I love these two A Lot. A Normal Amount, actually. I would totally not overthrow a nation for them.

COBALT -> Retired Mercenary

A retired member of the OMEGA GUARD (link tba). Still pretty formidable, but would happily go the rest of his life without fighting if he could.

Relieved from his position from the OMEGA GUARD after completely losing his magic during an attack on the Omega Timeline. Recieved an honourable discharge, and is pretty widely considered a hero.

Lost his arm in the same attack, as well as sustaining some pretty wicked scars.

Teaches others self-defense occasionally, as well as how to ground oneself.

Incredibly proficient with weapons, especially his two swords. Tied in strength with Swap, and tied in weapons proficiency with Grape.

Came from a DustTrust universe where he was successful in defeating the human at the end of the run. His determination was so great that the human couldn't reload, causing a save error. He was rescued by Core Frisk and brought to the Omega TImeline, where he was told to join the OMEGA GUARD.

Near enough inseperable from Topaz.

TOPAZ -> Part-Time Teacher, Part-Time Musician

A music and sign language teacher at the school in the Omega Timeline. When he's not there, he's usually around the plaza, playing an instrument or two.

Speaks near exclusively in sign, and if he does speak, it's in Wingdings.

Pretty magically and physically proficient, though he attempts to resolve conflicts with words first (though learned the hard way that words don't always work).

Has a "friendly" back and forth with Grape. Grape isn't sure if he's actually in danger, and Topaz isn't sure if he actually means it when he says he's joking. They're friends!

Likes to greet new members of the Omega Timeline as they're being oriented, just to be a friendly face.

Very very close with Cobalt, completely inseperable.

Came from a Distrust universe that kept going around in circles. Core Frisk offered both him and his Papyrus and out, and just before they could both take it, his Papyrus was killed while Topaz was out of the timeline. The human reset, effectively annuling Topaz from the timeline all together. He checks in every now and then, but never returns for any significant length of time out of fear he'll mess things up.

Oh, my favourite of the tiny (and very tall) goobers! The first three in the CoB line-up, and I would kiss all of them on their little foreheads.

SWAP -> Leader of the Council of Blue

The oldest of the Council, and the first. If anyone is going to listen to anyone, Swap is the figure that can silence the room.

Has a lot of influence in the Omega Timeline, on par with the Sans on the main Council. Mostly uses it for good (the other 1% are on reserves. Just in case.)

Came from a particularly terrible Neutral BBAU - he helps organize support groups for others like him.

The actual adoptive dad of Lil'Swap and Bluwu. Really! He has adoption papers and everything!

Immensely strong, and has a little bit of LOVE on his hands. Still, he tries his best to be kind and polite (though has absolutely zero tolerance for people trying to hurt his kids and his friends).

NOT the Star Sans Blue. Just. That's important. He works as a guard at the school in the Omega Timeline.

LIL'SWAP -> Tiny Brains of the Operation (self-proclaimed)

One of the youngest members of the Council (followed only by his younger brother, Bluwu).

A smart, shy, polite little kid that loves to help people! He thinks Swap (and Cobalt) is very very cool, and wants to be just like him when he grows up.

Rescued to the Omega Timeline from his universe after it started to decay. Swap happened to be crossing by the doors when he was brought in, and Lilswap went with him immediately.

A bit of a braniac (the other members of the CoB have their bets hedged as to what he'll grow up to be - most are banking on a SciSwap).

Not completely what he seems.

BLUWU -> ???

The youngest member of the Council. He's small enough to fit inside the mailbox outside of Swap's house (and he knows, because he tried).

A bit of a troublemaker, but they mean well! At least, that's what Swap says, anyway. The true intentions of this kid are unknown...

...as is his origin. He just sort of showed up one day and... asserted himself. Even when asked what Swap-Like universe he came from, Bluwu just giggles.

Never pulls down his scarf, though he swears he takes it off when he goes to bed.

THRIVES on cartoon logic. If need be, he could hurtle himself through a wall at Mach 10 to leave a small Him-Shaped hole and be completely unscathed.

hello! it's me again! i heard you were taking new AU stuff?

it's less of an AU and more of a massive multiverse that spiralled WAY out of its original scope (me and my friend are working on a blog for it right now, actually!), but it's called "Morally Blue"!

Currently, our timeline document looks like this LMAO.

Basically, it follows (but doesn't necessarily focus on) the Star Sans Blue (who also happens to be a couple of other things) and the several times that multiverse nearly ends, as well as the chill down times!

Events Include:

Fresh being created because Ink, as a new God, basically just went "Hmmm ... what if I just ... threw a bunch of paint at a page and then forgot about it for ages?"

Blue's Chara having their SOUL unceremoniously pulled from their body so they get a new one (it's custom made)!

Cross being the very normal guy that he is and totally not traumatized at all - does this have to do with his sleepwalking? Nooooo totally not! Unrelated note, he has no idea how he wound up in the Omega Timeline after napping in Outertale.

Nightmare "accidentally" helping save the Multiverse because it's totally just more convenient for hiding his actual plans that way.

Error and Ink learning that they need each other to function as a pair of gods (even if Error hates it) - they only learn that lesson after Ink loses his mind for a little while and permanently becomes an error himself.

And Fell being dragged along for the ride even though he JUST wants to stay at home!

Somewhere in the Omega Timeline, there's a small (?) collection of Swap Sanses that, whilst having no real political power (sans one of them), are well known for helping out around the community! They became known as the Council of Blue (for obvious reasons (even if Grape isn't ... actually .. wearing any blue???)), but most just call them the CoB!
