Words I Carry in My Pocket
“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” — Benjamin Franklin
This quote is the one closest to my heart. Ever since I can remember, my parents woke me up every single morning with this quote. Every time I heard it, I felt recharged. All the morning grogginess used to fade in just one sentence. I felt like I was ready for the adventurous day every morning of my childhood.
“Opportunities don’t happen. You create them.” — Chris Grosser
This quotation always reminded me that oppurtunies don’t come knocking at your door, you prompt it. This always motivated me to take the initiative and don’t say “later”. Opportunities don’t come to you by chance. When I used to sit hoping that things will just fall into place, this quote made me believe that no one will pave the way you walk and that hard work is always reliable than luck.
“If you can’t be a poet, be the poem.”— David Carradine
It reminds me to live a live that is epic. To live like a main caracter in a creative novel, to be the hero, the villain, the plot twist all at once in your story. It’s about being a beautiful creation even if not creating it. A reminder to let Our life be a legendary story, to exist like a living work of art.
“Stars can’t shine without darkness.” — D. H. Sidebottom
This line resonated in times when i felt like i was wronged. It reminded me that challenges are the things that allows you to prove yourself. It’s the struggle that helps you win. Stars would never ever glow without the darkness and thats why they say that if there’s no rain, there’s no rainbow.
“The path of least resistance seldom leads to brilliance.” — Chris Grosser
My dad always told me to choose the path with risk, to choose what’s hard. He said, “The path of the warrior is never the easy road,” and that shaped me into someone who loves taking risks …A person rebellious enough to crave difficulties and puzzles in life.
“No one has ever become poor by giving.” — Anne Frank
In the 16 years of my life, there hasn’t been a moment when this thought wasn’t on my mind. Growing up, my mom always told me to look out for others and then the universe will look after me.’That simple sentence shaped me into someone who just can’t stand to see another person empty-handed. She also taught me to give quietly, when you give from one hand, the other hand doesn’t have to know. Sharing because its a way of life, a way of compassion, of brotherhood.
“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” — Tim Notke
This is what motivates me to learn things that I personally feel difficult, to tackle things that aren’t naturally my talent. To achieve the best results in things you’re bad at, hard work is the key. So, hard work will be your bestest friend when talent doesn’t work .
Oblivious about anything, but everything.” — Smita Paudel
This line captures the paradox of my mind — how I might seem unaware or distracted on the surface, yet I’m quietly absorbing everything around me. Be curious and open to new things and also stay aware of the little details that truly matter.
These are more than just words that have shaped me to who I’ve become today. I hope these lines inspired you as much as they have inspired me.
