Because when making Garden, Zinnia and Thistle were the only characters to exist (at least with names) and I went to myself ‘what if I named all the characters after plants with symbolism behind each pick and their story’ and ran with it. That’s also where the name of the story comes from

As much as I’d love to ramble forever here, I’ll keep it short. These are all… semi symbolic pieces? Like certain choices were very intentional. And the characters already have symbolic names (based on the various plants and their symbolism, and for certain characters colors.). But. Not all of it is. So if you have any specific questions about if some part means something specific or such and Wanna ask, please do!! I’d *love* to talk about it.

Good question.

The difference between the tiger and clouded leopard come from the lengths here-

So the tiger is about just under 8 feet tall here. I figured rhat was a little above a good avarge, which is typically what go for when determining hights for anthros(or a little below what I feel is a good average in really long creatures, such as the salt water crocodile from before).

And I actually bumped up the clouded leopards height to make it closer to somewhere between 4-5 feet(really closer to 4), really this is something I normally don’t do, but I figured it was kind of okay for this character since i could see her being taller then average anyway. Plus even if it’s not a perfect average out, it made sense when comparing it to other creatures also about 3 feet(as clouded leopards are bigger then say, raccoons, so in this world they should be reasonably taller then raccoons for example).

Sadly no matter how much I poked around I couldn’t find any exact length for Belgian hares, so I went with the average for larger rabbit species, about 20 inches(which rounds to about 2 feet). Once again, despite that being the mathematically right answer, so to speak, it didn’t feel right for world building. I want rabbits to kind of be between small and medium creatures. So I decided most should average between 3 and 4 feet, usually closer to 3, with exceptions if they’re a specifically small species(pygmy rabbits exist after all).

However this one in particular is taller for uh. Special story reasons.

Was feeling kind of nastolgic for these guys.

I feel like I messed up too much with Venus’s hair, it looks messy. (she’s the one on the center left who I also forgot to draw a mouth on).

Also apparently I never gave Asuka a final design?? Like she is a main protagonist of this story, why didn’t she get some drawing? Me, you did her so bad. So best girl gets her fancy blue hair and glasses

Zinnia is one my ocs ive had for such a long time and kind of helped inspire the rest of these guys though she’s not a protag. She means so so much to me, and drawing her again after all this time was super fun. (She’s the dirty blonde haired girl with clips in her hair).

Not really ocs. But I wanted to draw some cats just for practice. Work on giving more character in just designs, expressions, and simple scenes.

And I was like. ‘No lore more then a few pieces to characterize them. Don’t get attached.’ To myself.

And then I did what I always did and got attached.

Rei is human and Sam is human with magic.

Basically he dies, but like, only for about 2 seconds before he gets brought back. Not quite fully ‘right’, because like. He slowly starts to realize he doesn’t need to eat or drink anymore. But he still grows and needs to sleep and stuff.

Almost a ghost. He lives a happy life anyway.

Okay so. The *really* basic version(cuz I don’t wanna ramble too long like I tend to do) is that’s these guys are basically retired soldiers who became close and hung out after all the fighting was over

Sam and Soria are childhood friends who have known each other since Soria stumbled into this land, from who knows where, (well. I know. She’s from the dragon mountains. Because she’s got draconic ancestry if that isn’t clear). And Rei is a more recent addition to the group but still very close to the two.

The basic story(for them, theres more characters in the universe). They’re not really sure what to do with themselves for a bit, cuz like. No longer fighting. And then Sam gets really sick, and Soria gets almost as sick, but manages to shake it off. But Rei has to go find some magic stuff to help them, with some of the other characters. There’s way more to it then that but. Simplifying for keeping this short.

Rei is a fairly important person locally so she also has to deal with all the reproductions(and of course the many benefits) of that. She’s a little snippy, but always means well for the people around her. Very skeptical though.

Soria has a grandparent who’s a dragon, and an aunt who may or may not be trying to kill her. It’s complicated. She doesn’t really like to let that reflect her though, and is almost always positive and humorous. Maybe a little teasing too. She’s often told she’s too forgiving for her own good.

Sam is a little more soft spoken then Soria, but like her tends to look on the bright side, maybe not as much, but he tries. It’s kind of impressive given he pretty much grew up raising himself until she came around and helped him out. He’s kind of annoyed when people mistake him for like. A teenager. Which happens offten(he has a young face)
