For a long moment she just stood there, a wry smirk on her face. The noble's face was deepening with furious panic as the seconds drew out. So uptight. Bruce must have seriously warned everyone about me. The thought of her name conjuring fear sent a shiver of delight down her spine.

The warrior bowed her head, eyes lowering a little. "I have not forgotten, Alcmene."

Alcmene didn't face her disciple; no, her gaze was fixed on the young woman leaning weakly against her, blood leaking across her tunic. The goddess quirked the edges of her lips briefly, before any emotion vanished from her angular features. "For now, perhaps not."
