Therefore, in selecting final photos among the collections taken at Tirohanga Whānau, one has to consider the story he wants to tell. Every picture should evoke emotion, elicit thought, and invite viewers into the soul of the place.

Selection Criteria

The selection of final photos taken from the collection at Tirohanga Whānui involves looking into various factors. Factors such as the composition of an image, the lighting used, and framing are quite decisive in capturing the essence of a place. Cultural sensitivities and respect toward the community are other important themes of consideration in regard to photo selection for sharing with a wide audience

Hence, the selection of the final photos, which is a fairly very thoughtful process in itself, will be quite a consideration at Tirohanga Whānui in Auckland, done in a creative and culturally considerate manner. While I had passed by it on numerous occasions before, this time around I decided to dedicate a good portion of my day to truly immersing myself in the beauty of Queen Wharf.

Spending almost three hours exploring the area allowed me to see familiar sights in a new light. I usually frequented Queen Wharf during the evening, but this time, I chose the morning to capture the enchanting essence of the sea through the lens of my camera. The stillness of the early hours added a serene backdrop to my photography, providing a unique perspective that I hadn't fully appreciated before.

As I ventured into taking pictures at every corner of Queen Wharf, I found myself rediscovering the allure of Auckland with each snapshot. The picturesque scenery that unfolded before me was captivating, and I made sure to capture the essence of each location through my lens.
