I hate King Charming without a reason apparently. He's evil (in my mind)
He's the worst father ever. He's probably very imperfect too but he hides it.
Because he hates himself for having imperfect children and forces them to be the perfection he can't be. But oh surprise! Only one of his children can appear perfect.
Like forget Snow White being a bad mother, King Charming is the real bad father. You want real angst and need a villain? King Charming is right there traumatizing his children trying to make them perfect and exactly how he wants them to be.
Putting the three Charming siblings into a mold but none of them fit the carefully planned mold. So King Charming forces them to be perfection, there is no room for error to have mistakes, the Charmings are prestigious and elegant, and above all perfect.
The entire Charming family are appearances so imperfections (cough Dexter cough) do not serve the family and are not as important as those who do know how to pretend.
But what King Charming doesn't know is that appearances can be easily broken and at some point it will be discovered that his children and especially him aren't the perfect family they claim to be.
Like probably King Charming got married to his "perfect" wife think that she she could fix his genes, fix their future children with better genetics. It seemed like everything was going to be okay but they soon realized it wasn't, but still King Charming tried hard to force his children to pretend and got angry when they wanted to have "personalities of their own".
Charmings don't have "personalities of their own" they are simply what a prince or princess is supposed to be and other than that they are perfect and that is all they should aspire to be.
King Charming probably hates Dexter because they're equally imperfect but King Charming did everything possible to hide it while he has never managed to make Dexter completely how he wants him to be and Dexter tries to be his own person by not having a destiny to which he aspires.
Darling is more secretive about her being a knight and hides her scars with makeup to appear better in front of her parents.
And Daring simply loves that his father is always happy with him because he learned well everything his father taught him. Daring tries to be the most perfect all the time so that his father is proud of him at all times.
Oh but what will happen to everything after Dragon Games :D. Everything is going to fall apart in the "perfect" family
(I made the post, @kang-yina)

I honestly just love how Raven and dexter uplift each other when they need it most, Romantic or not they have one of the best mutual lovey dovey relationship in the franchise it’s absolutely beautiful to think about sometimes.

One of my favorite parts of eah is that there is so much ship potential. Literally everywhere. You throw two names together, I'll have a list of headcanons on your desk by Monday.

Legacies and Lottery
My set of designed OCs for Legacies and Lottery is finished! I set out to make a cast of unique characters from all walks of life, both royal and commoner.
In the right column we have our legacy students: Nasir, Ling, Faelynn, and Tencacity.
In the left column we have our lottery students: Royelle, Marie, Wolfe, and Solei.
I had a wonderful time designing these characters and I really hope to write and draw them again in the future! Please tell me which character is your favorite in the comments or tags, I love to hear from you guys 🫶🏻

Figured I might as well see what happens if I just post the EAH fic I wrote directly on here instead of the FF.N link I posted.
So here we go!

What’s Going To Happen To Me?
Raven hummed happily as she put away her winter clothes for the second time that year.
“Having a snow day in summer was fun, but I’m glad it’s all finally over and things are starting to heat up again,” she mused.
“Mmhmm,” Apple absently-minded answered from her side of the room.
Raven turned to find her roommate just staring into her closet and fiddling with her clothes.
“You okay?” she asked.
Apple jumped a bit from the unexpected question then spun around with a forced smile plastered on her face.
“I’m fine! You’re fine! The school is fine! We’re all fine! Everything is fine!” she said with forced cheerfulness.
Raven crossed her arms over her chest and cocked her head.
“Okay, that is far too many ‘fines’ to be believable,” she retorted.
Apple let out an exasperated sigh then practically flung herself onto her bed in a very dramatic fashion.
“You’re right, I’m not fine! I haven’t been fine since…since…” she trailed off and just stared at the ceiling of their dorm room.
“Since it turned out that Daring isn’t your One True Love?” Raven ventured.
She nodded then forced herself to sit up on the edge of her bed so she was facing her friend.
“Yeah,” she confessed in a defeated tone.
Raven walked over to the bed and sat down next to her then put a comforting arm around her friend’s shoulder.
“It’s okay Apple,” she tried to reassure her.
“HOW is it okay?!” Apple shouted, jumping up from the bed and throwing her arms up in annoyance. “Everything I know is gone now! You’re not going to poison me! Daring isn’t going to wake me with a kiss! So does that mean I’m never going to be queen?! That I’m never going to get my Happily Ever After?!”
Raven let out an annoyed groan and rolled her eyes.
“I thought we had finally moved past this! You don’t need to follow your story Apple!” she explained for what felt like the millionth time.
“BUT I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITHOUT IT!!”
The words bounced off the walls for a few seconds before the room grew deathly quiet. The two girls stared at each other for a bit before Apple’s usually cheerful and confident face fell and tears began to well up in her eyes.
“Apple,” Raven said softly before she started to get up and comfort her friend.
Apple stopped her with an outstretched hand.
“No. No I need to get this out,” she confessed.
She took a moment to compose herself so she could get it out. She wiped away her tears, soothed the wrinkles from her skirt then took a deep breath and straightened her stance.
“Okay,” she said to herself as much as Raven. “Back when you didn’t sign the Story Book of Legends, I was mad at first. Well, first I was shocked and then I was mad. Then I was scared but that past once you didn’t go poof. But that made me realize you really could write your own destiny and that…that made me jealous.”
“Jealous?” Raven asked with a quirked eyebrow.
“Yes. Cause it meant you really could do whatever you wanted to do. But me? I had to follow my story. I had to become the next Snow White. It’s what my entire life has…had been building up to. Everything I did after Legacy Day? Always trying to get you back to following your evil destiny? That was me lashing out because I didn’t know what else to do. It was wrong and I’m sorry.”
Raven stood up and walked over to her friend, placing her hands on her shoulders in a reassuring manner.
“It’s okay Apple,” she told her. “Just like I did back in the Enchanted Forest for…all of that.”
Apple brushed a bit of hair behind her ear nervously and turned her head away.
“Yeah…about that…” she mummered.
Raven dropped her arms and quirked an eyebrow. Apple looked like she was about to say something but instead turned and walked towards the window. She looked out at the campus of Ever After High and what she could see of the Book End just beyond that. She stared out further into the horizon as she tried to find the right words.
“Everything that happened that week? I could easily say it’s because your mom got into my head because my mom got into my head. But the truth is…I wanted to believe her. That maybe everything could go back to the way it was and things could be…simpler. Easier,” she confessed before her body sagged forward like a weight had just been placed on it. “But that’s never going to happen, is it?”
“No, it’s not,” Raven told her firmly before her voice softened again. “And look, I know better than anyone how manipulative my mother can be. In fact, if we’re confessing things, she nearly got me to let her out of the mirror earlier that day!”
“What?!” Apple exclaimed in disbelief, whipping her body around.
“Yeah,” Raven admitted, rubbing her arm nervously. “She got me upset, and my magic started reacting to that. If Nevermore hadn’t been there to calm me down, I could have shattered the glass myself.” She let out a breath, happy to finally have that off her chest. “I think that’s why I got so mad at you when you said you freed her. I mean, you could have told any one of us, I would have understood,” she paused to calm herself down again. “But I think I was more mad at myself for not doing more to make sure she didn’t escape. Well, and mad at my mother in general for everything she was doing to the school and our friends.”
“I guess it wasn’t the proudest day for either of us, was it?” Apple said with a half smile.
“It was not,” Raven returned the smile. “But it’s over now and we can both move forward!”
“And that leaves me back right where I was!” Apple huffed. “What do I do now that my story isn’t secured?”
“Apple. In all this worrying you’ve been doing, has it even occurred to you that you’ve already lived out your story?” Raven pointed out.
The blonde blinked in confusion. “What?”
“Well let’s see, you ate a poison apple, fell into an enchanted sleep and werd woken up by a kiss from a Charming,” Raven recapped, ticking off each beat on her fingers. “Sounds like the story of Snow White to me.”
“Except it was the WRONG Charming!” Apple stressed.
“Was it?” Raven countered, placing her hands on her hips.
“YES!!! It has to be the wrong Charming! It HAS to be!!” she repeated.
It was then that Raven noticed the look in Apple’s eyes. Desperation. Not for her story to be played out as it should; she had seen that enough over the semester to recognize it. This was something else. Something deeper. Something…personal.
“Apple…” she whispered, stretching out a hand to her friend and taking a step forward.
In what felt like just a blink, Apple crossed the small distance between them and held Raven in a tight hug as she began to cry into the pale girl’s shoulder, holding onto her as if her life depended on it.
“I can’t! I can’t!” she just kept repeating. “My mother…”
And instantly Raven understood. She wrapped her arms around the weeping girl in the tightest embrace she could to let her know she was safe.
“It’s okay. It’s okay,” she whispered.
“But she already hates I have blonde hair and reading glasses. Now this? What if…? What if…?” Apple sobbed, unable to finish the thought.
“Then she’s an idiot and you’re better off without her,” Raven said venomously.
“But…but she’s my mother.”
“Yes, and mothers don’t always have your best intentions in mind. Again, I know!”
“But..”
Raven pulled Apple out of the hug so she could look her the eyes.
“Uh-uh,” she said with a shake of her head. “I don’t want to hear what your mother might think. I want to hear what you, Apple White, know!”
Apple’s bright blue eyes stared into Raven’s lavender eyes and saw conviction. A confidence in her she herself wasn’t even sure she had. But maybe this was the time to find out if she did. She placed her hands on Raven’s shoulders to share her strength before she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She let it out slowly, calming her stressed nerves as she prepared to make a declaration even bigger then the one she made on Legacy Day.
She opened her eyes to look back at Raven, that same confidence she had just seen now shining in them.
“I, Apple White, am…” the final word caught in her throat.
Raven nodded in encouragement.
“I am…”
Another pause and growing frustration with herself.
“I’M GAY!!!” she finally shouted.
“Yeah, you are!” Raven cheered and pulled her into another hug.
Apple returned the hug, a much warmer hug than before. Instead of being done out of need and desperation, this one was done out of love, support and acceptance. A hug between two friends that would be there for each other no matter what.
But there was one thing that bothered her.
“Why did you say it like that?” she asked.
“Huh?” Raven asked back, her eyes opening in panic.
Apple pulled away from the hug so she could see Raven’s face.
“The way you said it. It’s like you were…expecting me to say that,” she clarified.
Raven’s eyes darted side-to-side for a moment as she tried to think up an excuse but she just sighed and slumped.
“You know what? I don’t have the energy to do this anymore. We ALL know you’re gay Apple!” she revealed. “We’ve known for forever after! We’ve just been waiting for you to catch up!”
Apple baulked at what she was hearing.
“W-what do you mean ‘we’?! Who else ‘knew’ this?!” she demanded.
“EVERYONE!! Do you have any idea how many times we had to drag Cedar away or cover up her mouth so she wouldn’t just blurt it out?!”
The blonde began to rub her temples as she tried to process all this new information.
“Why…why would any of you think that?” she muttered.
“Oh come on Apple!” Raven snapped! “I’ve seen how you’ve looked at Darling. It’s why I wasn’t surprised when Maddie told me about what happened! I also saw how you looked at my mother in her Mira Shards disguise and we are definitely talking about that later!” She huffed then softened her voice again. “Look, the point is we already know you’re gay and we accept you for you are. And everyone will be happy to know that you’ve finally accepted you for who you are.”
Apple held up a hand. “Can we just pause for a moment. This is…a lot to take in!”
“Right. Sorry,” Raven apologized with an embarrassed smile.
The overwhelmed princess became to pace around the room as she tried to process the events of the last few minutes. Her story had apparently already played out so she should get her happily ever after now but it’s not a guarantee. She finally worked up the courage to admit to her friend, and importantly herself, that she was gay but apparently Raven, along with everyone else, already knew that! Also, apparently she had been sending “looks” to Darling that she wasn’t even aware she was doing.
Darling.
“What am I supposed to do about Darling?” she asked
“Do you want me to answer that or was it rhetorical?” Raven asked.
Apple jumped in surprise then whipped around to face her friend who gave a weak wave with her fingers in response.
“I didn’t realize I said that out loud,” she confessed with an embarrassed blush.
“Oh. Well…um…” Raven stammered awkwardly.
“It’s okay. What were you going to say?”
“Well, I was thinking…have you thought of just…asking her out?”
A horrified expression came across Apple’s face.
“No! No, no, no, no!” she vehemently responded as she shook her head. “I can’t just do that!”
“Why not?”
“Well. I can’t just ask her out! She woke me out of an enchanted sleep with true love’s kiss! You can’t follow that up with, ‘Hey you want to go to the movie’s Friday?’” she sighed. “No, this has to be something big, something bold, something…magical! And I should definitely bring a present! Maybe flowers? No, wait I don’t think she likes flowers. But she does like swords! Is a sword a good present to give on a first date?”
“I don’t think a sword is a good present to give on any date,” Raven remarked.
“Well, I have to figure out something,” Apple muttered as she rubbed her chin. She then snapped her fingers. “I got it! I’ll make a list!”
“No Apple, don’t make a list…” Raven pleaded.
But it was too late, Apple was already typing away furiously on her Mirrorphone as she walked over to her bed and sat down.
Well, at least she’s feeling better, Raven thought with an amused grin.
The End…
…Is Just The Beginning
