a penographic still life from a hike in the woods!

Went hiking w my lil pupper here, she thuroughly enjoyed this still life. Although she found it frustrating for how long I was sitting there sketching instead of giving her all my attention for once HA! I love going on hikes with my dog--she's just as excited and curious about things as I am, and whenever I stop she stops and whenever she stops I stop. We're very much in synch and happy with each other's company (:

When I found this little corner by a stream and saw how beautiful it was and wanted to capture it, and she didn't hesitate to sit by my side and patiently wait and chew on her little stick while I tried my best to put it on paper in the small time frame I had before she got to anxty and urged me to keep walking with her. Sometime after these photos were taken, she splashed around in the creek, mud on her paws and she barked and jumped up on me to get my attention after patiently waiting for quite a while, and got mud on my notebook--so thankfully I took this photo before it got muddied! But I'll consider it her signature--like she wanted to also be given credit for being emotional support for the drawing LMAO

Daisy Jones & the Six sketch

Binge watched this show when I was sick, and instantly became obsessed. The way it was shot, the twist at the end, the acting and the storyline--all simply perfection. They did an absolute incredible job on this show--I really do enjoy good cinema. The soundtrack became part of my daily playlist, and I couldn't resist drawing this one scene that was photographed by the wife at the time in the mountains when they were fighting. This photo became their album cover, and the words to my favorite song from it are in the background. I was imagining it more to be a graphic in my head, but being that I was too lazy to bring my drawing online and do a font myself making it look more professional than my sloppy handwriting I just did it on paper and considered it a "fun work", which I'm not posting on here 'cause why not (:

Penographic Still Life ~ another duck pond!

I love the duck pond--it's going to pop up a lot (: I enjoyed this one a lot--I tend to find places where most people aren't at, where there's some privacy so I can sit and draw without any distractions, but this time I decided to go out of my comfort zone and draw on a bench next to the main walkway where students from university walk by frequently. I was uncomfortable at first, with all the looks I got and the few people pointing my way, but I eventually got used to it and was glad I did it (: A couple families walked by, and a child even came up and said they liked my drawing--I immediately noticed the small fleeting smiles of those who looked my way, complimenting my work then going elsewhere. Just this small little act of joy I was doing for myself, appreciating the beauty of my surroundings and expressing it through my pencil and pen brought so much joy in this little bubble I was sitting in. It reminded me why I wanted to put my art out into the world--good or not. No matter how many or who sees it, if someone else enjoys it as much as I did making it, or simply brings a smile to their face for a second, I am happy (:

One of my favorite past times is finding a spot in nature where I can sit and observe the view. I never go without a notebook and a pen. In sitting in the silence in the stillness I enjoy the sun and the breeze and decide whether that day will be a drawing or a writing day-or both! But this day was a drawing day. One of the most memorable days of my life. The beauty of the changing leaves and the flying geese was beyond words. So I resulted to pictures.
