Make It Worth It, the "Cassian takes Mon to Chandrila" scene we never got

hello! i have been doing New Things. i hope you like it. it's mon/cassian. chapter 1 is up and is mild. just some character study stuff really. chapter 2 will be out soon and that is when we get spicy.

“Am I not supposed to be working for her now?” He gestures to Mon and she blinks, a bit stunned. She had not thought of that. Had not even considered it. And besides… she hadn’t meant this as an order. A demand of a superior to an underling. The insuiation doesn’t sit right on her shoulders and she shifts uncomfortably on her feet.

“I thought you were done after this?” Kleya snaps back.

Cassian’s face hardens, mouth pulling into a scowl. “She asked me to take her. She didn’t order me.”

“And you agreed?” Kleya asks, breathless. She barks out a short, bitter laugh of incredulity. “You’re a soldier, Cassian. You don’t make deals, you follow orders.”

He straightens from the counter, throwing his tool down, and steps closer to her, face lined with an old, lingering anger. “Luthen told me to think like a leader once.”

Kleya shakes her head. “I don’t know if this was what he meant.”
