I had to save this one for a day by itself, just to absorb it all.
This track is so close to being my favourite track of this year, you have no idea. Short but Sweet, Jorja Smith delivers a magnificient track for a third time. This breathtaking artist continues to improve and diversify her sound and I am so excited to hear it all come together on an LP. Listen, Experience, Enjoy.

Nao is my eternal favourite. This is an absolutely amazing track, probably one of my favourites from her upcoming LP, For All We Know. So excited to hear it! Pitchfork says about this track... “Nao sings about a love being enough ‘to make us fly,’ and she soars.” and relates it to Prince’s eternal hit (also covered by TLC) “If I Was Your Girlfriend”. Major Praise. Keep up the amazing work, Nao!

Heres two since I suck at this... This ones a bit more late night, so Im posting it super late.
Literally can’t look at this album art, but this song is killer. Kinda reminds me of an updated version of  Modeselektor and/or London Elektricity with huge Drum & Bass influence.

So I lied... Heres another amazing album.
Jessy Lanza is absolutely amazing. I hadn’t heard any of her previous projects before Annie Mac introduced me to her amazing, Canadian talent. Her mix of creative and subtle alternative dance with pristine, altered vocals is somehow simutaneously reminiscent of Grimes, Glass Animals, PC Music’s Hannah Diamond and TNGHT. The entire project, titled Oh No, is an incredible experience that can serve as both an exciting background piece or a journey through space and times. I guess it depends on if you’re on drugs. This particular song grew on me slowly but I am now SO obsessed with it. Amazing talent, Amazing Song, Amazing Album.

SOFTXSHUG is making moves. The new project, Beretta - EP, is coming soon with an official label release on KNIGHTWERK (how exciting!). Super excited to see what he does next, but until then we still have a tons of amazing music. Shug brings a refreshing flow over a wealth of lush beats on SOFTXSHUG - EP (2). Originally posted on bandcamp, he’s done the world a favour and posted it for a FREE download. Standout tracks include this one, “Cinnamon Brown”, and another personal favourite, “Manhattan Rush”. With talent like this, I’m so excited to see as his career explodes and he develops his sound over the coming year and beyond. I’ve said it before, but I really do believe in Shug. This EP is proof of a fresh, raw talent that somehow loans itself a certain level of refinement that I haven’t seen from many up and coming artists. I’m waiting for him to break so I can tell everyone I knew it first. In the mean time, We can all enjoy this classic EP as my final edition into the week of fresh albums that you need to check out.

The album train continues!~
He back and he back and he back. Chance The Rapper returns with his latest project, Colouring Book. Although I felt it was overwhelming in comparison to his modern day masterpiece Acid Rap, this was a great album and it really showcases Chance’s growth as a musical curator. This song in particular mixes sunshine personified into music with T-Pain and merges into a daydream with a perfect feature from Noname (Gyspy). I was so close to picking Same Drugs, but this seems like a sequel to Acid Rap’s Intro, His “Everyday Wonderful” experiment, and Sunday Candy. Chance 3 is def worth checking out, and this track is a standout.

This month has been great for amazing albums... lets keep it going!
Corinne Bailey Rae is an absolute favourite of mine. I love her work. Self-titled was a great introduction, but The Sea really brought a level of emotional depth through love, yearning and loss that I appreciate to this day. Easily one of my favourite albums of the past 15 years. And I like a lot of music. Corinne finally makes her triumphant return following My Love - EP, for which she won a Grammy, with this impressive soundscape. The Heart Speaks In Whispers is an excellent edition to any music library and brings an updated sound for Corinne that still remains as grandiose and beautiful as her other work with an interesting update and a new appreciation for the universe. This is the opening track!

Want an album for the weekend? I have 3.
Skepta’s long awaited Konnichiwa dropped recently to critical and commercial acclaim. Grime is really back in a big way and the past year has proven that. This record recycles some great tunes, like Shutdown and That’s Not Me, and introduces new ones like Ladies Hit Squad and this one, Man. I was really impressed with this as a complete album, and I’m excited to see how this goes down as the year progresses.
