okay so. i'm back on tumblr after? 5 years? because i've built avatrice's small little apartment in the sims 4 and thought i'd share it with the fandom. or at least try to. we've been going through a tough time this past few weeks. anyways, i've done my best to recreate their little home and i'm not sure it's completely functional (it's probably not).

i'll try to put this up on the gallery or for download tomorrow, hopefully, in case anyone's interested. i had to build a whole house around the apartment so it wouldn't just be a long blob in the middle of a lot, but i think it turned out okay.
my fellow halo bearers, we must not give up the fight.

The time has come. I'm doing the Divinium Rewatch. I'm trying to compile a list of everything that's said or shown about divinium in the whole show. Episode 1:
The cruciform sword's blade glows as Shannon holds it when she's carried into the church.
The shrapnel in her chest and abdomen also glows.
Mary says it's divinium shrapnel.
Shannon screams when the doctor pushes on the wounds.
Mary tells the doctor to get the pieces out so Shannon can heal.
The doctor tells Shannon her organs are pierced, and several of the shards are keeping her from bleeding out and removing them could kill her.
Shannon says she's not going to make it. (GOD this show has such a good score.)
The sword glow through the whole scene.
The wounds on Shannon's torso seem to maybe stop glowing after the halo is taken out of her. (Who lights a morgue with candles?)
Mary removes the divinium shrapnel from Shannon's body. It's not glowing anymore.
The sword is laying next to her, also not glowing anymore.
Mary rinses the blood off of the shrapnel.
Beatrice says they were at the docks to retrieve an item, and there was a detonation: divinium mixed with explosives. Sister Shannon was critically wounded.
Vincent asks about the other divinium fragments at the dock and says they need to be secured. Mary says she'll go get them.
Mary confirms the people at the docks were receiving a shipment of divinium.
Mary states that what happened to Shannon, divinium ripping her to pieces, is how you kill a Warrior Nun.
There's a flashback of Shannon handing off the St. Christopher's medal with the divinium shrapnel in her chest glowing.
Halo notes (these are not an exhaustive list of observations about the halo):
They explicitly say the they're not aware of the halo bringing someone back from the dead at any other time. And I think it's noteworthy that they all accept that Shannon is too injured to heal and will die. So maybe Ava's special halo power is the ability to resurrect herself and others.
Side notes:
We should have known that Ava is into women from her interaction with the woman at the spitting/spinning bar.
Vincent uses a Mac laptop. APPLE, THE PRODUCT PLACEMENT IS ALREADY IN THE SHOW. PICK IT UP.

The divinium rewatch continues! I'm trying to compile a list of everything that's said or shown about divinium in the whole show.
Episode 2:
Mary at the docks and flashes back to Shannon's death. We see her wounds glow again in the flashback.
Beatrice says the heat from the blast warped the divinium fragments beyond her skill to piece them together.
Lilith is holding the sword, it's not glowing. She clonks it down on the altar a little roughly.
In Morocco, Kristian (boo!) is handed a warped divinium shield.
He says it's been lost from the church since the Third Crusade, and he suspected they'd find it there.
Jillian estimates that it must be almost six kilos, and says it must be their biggest find to date.
After rubbing off the dirt, we see that the shield is stamped and patterned.
Jillian says whoever Kristian is paying off [for information on where to dig? for permission to dig?] is worth it.
Beatrice says that every entry in the archives on tarsks agrees that only the combination of halo bearer and divinium sword can destroy a tarask.
Duretti notes it appears that someone is taking an interest in divinium.
Duretti is wearing a divinium ring that glows when Ava comes in a the Arq-Tech event even though she's at least a few meters away from him.
Jillian says they're doing a pivot into quantum applications. (I'm making note of this, because this this is the stuff she does with divinium)
Thanks to a proprietary superconductive alloy (divinium? divinium alloyed with something else?), Jillian can stabilize a Higg's field for up to a full minute.
Duretti accuses Kristian of having given Jillian divinium. Kristian says no, Jillian unearthed the artifacts herself and continues to do so.
Jillian does her arm thingy trick. Saying she's made a quantum portal.
Duretti crosses himself, his ring is not glowing.
Duretti says the "proprietary alloy" is actually property of the church. (so she's probably using unalloyed divinium.)
Jillian says the church has been hoarding divinium for centuries.
Ava walks by a lab with the shield inside and sees it glowing faintly.
It glows brighter and brighter when she gets closer, like within ~2 meters.
Jillian says the potential for her research includes teleportation, energy research, medical treatment, and life extension.
Ava's staring at the shield, it's glowing.
Jillian sees the shield fade as Ava walks away.
Ava sees Michael through a window and from across a room, he's NOT glowing.
Ava hides in a lab from the tarask. It's hard to see, but it looks like there's a ball of divinium on the table behind her, glowing faintly.
Mary shoots her shotgun at the tarask, and there's maybe a faint glow around the powder residue?
There's DEFINITELY a glowing piece of divinium on the table that Ava hides under.
Lilith is holding the cruciform sword, it's glowing.
Mary shoots again, the blast is definitely glowing blue.
Camila shoots a glowing divinium crossbow bolt at the tarask
Beatrice throws a glowing divinium knife at the tarask.
The shotgun wounds on the tarask glow a little.
The tarask tips the table over, and it falls to the floor, and then we see it's a helmet. It glows brightly, and is pretty close to Ava (~1m).
Ava whacks the tarask with the helmet, and it is pulled back to its origin dimension. The helmet keeps glowing, and is right next to Ava.
Ava stands, we see no divinium glowing on any of the sister warriors. (I think Lilith sheathed the sword?)
Halo notes (not exhaustive):
Lilith emphasizes that until they get the halo back, the entire order is vulnerable. So they really are dependent on the halo bearer to help them fight effectively.
Duretti (eeeyyy!) says that if the tarask gets the halo and brings it to hell, hell will rise up and heaven will fall. Bad.
Side notes:
Jillian has a very stylish hat to keep the sun off her face and neck, but it looks easy to ruin and is a little too fancy.
Brachial artery mention! First appearance of what will become a recurring theme.
Chanel has a very stylish hat to keep the sun off her face and neck, but it looks like it lets a lot of light through. (I need a new hat to do yard work, etc.)
"Corporate whore" is a useful moniker.
Kristian is already EXTREMELY sanctimonious to Duretti.
"God has a plan for each of us. Get her legs." is an underrated line.

S2:E7 Psalms 116:15
There is so much about this shot I love.
The gorgeous lighting.
The expressions on both their faces, knowing the bargain they just made.
The height difference that forces her to look up at him and him to look down at her.
The way Ava’s jacket collar mimics Vincent’s priest collar.
Absolute perfection.

One of the many cool things about language is that we will commonly absorb words and expressions from people around us, people we talk to, live with, love...
How peculiar, too, that both a miracle and a betrayal "of the highest order" have taken place. Ava is a "miracle", but so is Adriel still being alive inside that tomb, in a way; Areala "betrayed" Adriel (or vice-versa...), but so did Vincent betray the OCS.
#warrior nun#father vincent#adriel#mother superion#this is super interesting analysis!#there are so many levels to this show#i think my favourite thing about WN is the grey morality of every character#they’re all so explicitly human

Y'all someone is out here writing 20+ Mother Superion/Father Vincent fics on ao3 and I just... Like they not only found their niche, they created it from scratch, and on God they are filling it with everything they've got.
Whoever you are, mystery author, I don’t get you, but by God I respect you.

Part 15 of Salvation
'You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.'
Vincent finds his new self is still just as vulnerable to deceitful desires, while Suzanne struggles to find some balance between what is right and what is holy.
