• Celine despite being an antagonist and literally toxic and please stay tf away from Rumi with your traumatic traditions but I hope she comes along one day or she can duck off. But she is actually so fucking attractive to me. I’m so sorry. She’s a terrible, neglectful, adoptive mother but so fucking hot. Like please . Why was she made so attractive? I’m so mad at her and I’m thirsting. Anyway. Ahem.

• I did like Jinu and Rumi. I think they were quite cute. And Free is one of my fav songs from the movie. I also have nothing against Rujinu ship. The arts are very good and cute. Besides me being very fuckin gay and Polytrix at heart, I don’t think the romance was needed. It could also be seen as Platonic god forbid a male and female in media can be friends. How bout we stop assuming everything is straight and start assuming everything is gay for once! But either way I head canon that Jinu and Rumi are actually weird dumbass best friends. And he teases Rumi bout her girls a lot. Mira and him buttheads but they both put that aside if Rumi needs anything. Zoey and him like to trade nerdy facts and talk about Derpy and Sussie.

• I’ve seen a few posts and tweets about this already but I also do not like how people write Mira as this bitchy, angry, don’t know how to show emotion person. I just sigh every time. Probably coz she is the person I resonate most with. Rumi close second. That might seem like how she is But we could already tell that Mira doesn’t like problems and is actually quite outwardly with what she feels but not in the way Zoey is, just a different more subtle, more like you can feel it with what she does. She knows herself and is secure with what she knows and who she wants to protect. I do believe she goes/went to therapy and went to some anger management classes. She’s just shamelessly herself and I respect that. She’s that acts of service kind of gal, i think she knows exactly what to say when it matters and is actually pretty fucking gentle to people she cares about. She doesn’t stand for stuff she hates and being the black sheep of her toxic family, she strays away from behaviors that are damaging. She is probably the calmest of the group in regular moments but of course she matches their crackhead energy (everyone say thank you Zoey). • I’m all for Rumi bottom guys but she is a heavenly switch to me coz she can fuckin do both. She loves with the gentleness of warm tea but loves even harder and more passionately. She can be assertive and has ALWAYS been a giver too. So yes bottom Rumi coz she has been touch starved and always giving and not taking. But switch top Rumi because she is a professional at giving and she will take care of you in every way possible. And probably look for even more ways that’s not in the realm of possibility. (Plus, Mira will only let Rumi top, and no one else. Zoey can be ur service top temporarily for her)

• Rumi- Bisexual. Zoey- Pansexual . Mira- Pansexual/Lesbian (I’m on the fence here, coz Mira has the power to control anyone no matter who. So I personally do not care which)

• Mira and Zoey fell in love first. Rumi fell harder.

• The movie itself should’ve been longer :) I think I saw a post saying it was but there are so much stuff I wanted to be know more so here’s to potential future sequels or prequels to explain and explore the lore.

• I love all the fucking songs in this movie but two things: Score Suite, where are the legendary heavenly fucking vocals of the first hunters ??? Why is it just instrumental. RELEASE IT. Second: I needed more bass in the songs. All of them are amazing regardless.

• this might be a headcanon than a hot take. but Mira and Zoey feels a lot more guilty than people think for that night when Rumi got off stage and they lifted their weapons at her ! Most especially Mira (ahem self promo fic drop soon)

✨SPOILERS FOR THE MAIN STORY UPDATE BELOW: basically what I think the Lore is kind of all connecting to. I initially put it in a thread on Reddit but wanted to share my thoughts ✨

This ridiculously coked out fight video from me blazing through the main story earlier- I was kicking my feet and giggling. Nothing is more fun than taking on level 37 wanderers with maxed out cards and crazy protocores 💀



I think “yes” Sylus has been pulling the strings but I think they were separated when they left the Nebulae they were in and Sylus was caught and taken to the space time prison. I think the stuff in between that time and current MC is the part that is murky cause now we have a timeline that is after their first encounter as Dragon and Sorceress so how that all connects isn’t quite clear yet.

This timeline that is unknown to us- they are both living in a world that is really fucked up and hunger games ish when they were young kids- I’m guessing they were both exceptionally strong and then working together, they were able to destroy all their competition. They were told- okay cool, kill each other. Sylus said “PSYCH”, not doing that to my best gal”. Sylus and MC kind of Peta and Katniss the situation but get separated when they leave the Nebulae/planet they were originally from while trying to escape their captors.

So basically- Sylus finds MC, tracks her down to this Ever lab and saves her before Dimitri can kill her, but her death was quite literally explosive and caused the Chronoshift catastrophe and creating a new reality. It’s why they mentioned that she is death and rebirth in the Cosmos bits. The death of stars is violent and it creates a new life form (from my minimal understanding). I think as we understand MC’s origin more, we will see how maybe she influenced many different planets and civilizations by ‘destroying them’ and they are forced to renew. It gives Phoenix, Persephone kind of energy. Maybe even some Eris elements, but ultimately, every person and planet she has effected has all kind of crammed together on this planet. MY THOUGHT is that, when they were trying to gather all of that energy from the deep space tunnel, they quite literally collected every single fragment of the Oracio core (MC) and it manifested as a person.

This surge of all this energy brought all these timelines together in one room essentially (or at least, that is my theory). Xavier, Rafayel, and Zayne are all mentioned to have their own labs at the Gaia Center- whether that be they were experimented on or were working at the Gaia center is unknown.

Sylus prevented Dimitri from killing MC and ridding the world of her completely- if he had been able to do that, it would mean he would have destroyed the birth and destruction cycle to some extent. Since Sylus was at the lab, I deduce that would mean that Sylus is aware of them to some extent. I’m not well versed in Rafayel and Xavier lore, but this is what I have slowly begun to pull together.

I’m still getting through Zayne’s story, but I’ll hopefully understand more of what’s going on.

UPDATE/EDIT: It would also explain the existence of the deep space tunnel at all because Caleb and MC died and essentially created a black hole together in their lore. When a star dies, it collapses in on itself from gravity and can create a nebula, black hole, and/or a neutron star which I think is really interesting considering Zayne and Caleb kind of represents a dark black hole, Xavier is represented by stars, and Sylus reminds me of a Nebula. Rafayel is the earth itself I think- a representation of a planet still fighting to live.

Also if MC is ‘Magnum Opus’ then to me it seems that Sylus is recognizing MC as a creator and destroyer of the cosmos and ultimately his and others existence and why they have all collided together here on this planet- Earth (or Philos, I’m still struggling with understanding that piece)

And maybe the Wanderers manifested from Xavier’s world and Sylus’s world since they both seem to be from some form of Philos, but I don’t remember any wanderers in Rafayel or Zayne’s myths.

Basically I think MC was a massive collection of shards that was turned into the stained glass window that is the present. I’m not sure how it all connects yet, but this is my current thoughts

the entire block tales lore explained for DUMMIES!!!! (Spoilers ahead) THEORIES ADDED!

I’ll be separating this into parts to preserve my sanity and your own

1. pre - prologue

According to the snowmen guys, the player REALLY misses 2010. so much so that they time travelled back. I’ll update this once the prologue gets an update I swear

2. prologue

For the prologue, there isn’t really much here. the most interesting part is that shedletsky didn’t get beaten up by red n blue, he got beaten up by someone else and the twins took the credit. I don’t know who that someone else is. Red and blue also has an uncle named noobador guys he’ll be important later too

3. CHAPTER 1!!!!

So uh. Summary of this chapter you beat the crap out of an old man. Uhh the old man aka cruel king stole the ice dagger cause he wants to protect his kingdom . why he wants to protect his kingdom is because uhh there’s like a prophecy . “The voices”, as he calls them, were tormenting him mentally and yapped about the prophecy non stop. also apparently you’re the cause of said prophecy cause he HATES YOU!!! voices manipulated him a lil too much. Anyway, after beating the crap out of king a few more times he gets character development and you two become besties!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

4. CHAPTER 2!!!

so in chapter two. You beat up a schizophrenic teenager. but uh first, you meet a silly lil gal named kyoko who yaps about her next adventure in the rugged rainforest. she’ll be important later on I prommy.

so umm for chapter 2, we can get that greifer (the schizophrenic teenager) is possessed by “the voices” , the same ones as cruel king . it’s likely the voices come from the swords themselves

anyway, greifer wasn’t always like this. mayor thaniyel (his dad) said it himself, “brad this isn’t like you”. I don’t know what his actual personality is , he will probably be revealed in chapter 4 . but for speculation, brad is probably just a nonchalant teenager who is a bit rebellious. he was like possessed by the voices or sum so he’s more hyper than normal

not much of greifer is revealed yet and why he turns into a plant but I think it’s because he has a curse like vine staff (turning into a plant). probably the curse calmed down but the venomshank aggravated it he turned into a big plant

CHAPTER 3!!!

so uh in chapter 3, Y/N (player) gets diagnosed with schizophrenia. So in like the 1/4 of the chapter we beat the crap out of red and blue’s 4bU51V3 parents. said parents being purple and green, they tried to brainwash them into being criminals apparently. they’ve been looking for them for YEARS for the love of me.. don’t ask me why okay we don’t know why yet. and Noobador is the twins’ uncle, if anything Noobador is probably named yellow noob /j. after that you all become besties 🗣️🗣️🗣️

2/4, we go into Telamon ‘s manor. Telamon = shedletsky but more powerful. Uhh. Not much is known about them yet but all we know Telamon is Telamon.

3/4 of demo 3, we meet kitchen wizard who we met in demo 1 but I didn’t add him because he meant nothing to me in demo 1. but he’s relevant in chapter 3 now. so like terry killed him and all blah blah blah and then he got saved by Telamon . wizard gives us a ghost potion after making us collect some ingredients. One of these ingredients is a thanksgiving turkey. it was alive and we killed it.

the 4th part is where all of the orange juice squeezes out.. you beat the living crap out of your negative emotions. said negative emotions being greed, solitude, fear, and hatred. for greed uh, there’s not much on greed 😔😔😔 and it’s like really self explanatory just wanting dolla dolla bills.. but like Y/N wanted more ever since they touched the first sword so .

solitude is just solitude. Y/N is the chosen one so they’re like. Lonely and they can’t talk to anyone 😨😨

fear . Fear isn’t really that negative of an emotion, it’s what keeps you alive.. though it’s also negative sometimes so you have to nuclear bomb it. It was protecting you from hatred, or tried to.. yeah. also it’s not the feared but the fearful so that’s something to take note of but other than that nothing else

HATRED DEAR GOD. I hate this. Guy so much. anyway hatred , aka as “the voices”, is in every sword user. it was the one who told cruel king “oh ur kingdom is gonna die lol” and persuaded greifer to grab the venomshank, he already had the hatred in him. greifer had hate for his dad ever since god knows how long. anyway apparently your hatred is so deep it GOES RIGHT IN YOUR HEART’S VEINS LIKE DAMN.. so yah. uh it also only becomes tame and doesn’t die entirely so prepare for a 6 phase refight in demo 8.

notes: Kyoko was foreshadowing of hatred, kyoko is just an adventurer we first met her in plains town and met again in the manor. She comforts you and tells you not to be too hard on yourself and all.

their story is kinda depressing when u think about it but i bury it under all the humor. its an immortal x mortal trope, taro a god, na a human. i dont wanna get into how exactly na got entangled with deities and shit but yeah they grew up together, A LOTTA shit happened, caught feelings, MORE SHIT HAPPENS, got married, even more shit happens, they have kids but couldnt grow old why? cuz the story takes place in the future where technology is so advanced humanity's last goal really is to reach immortality. now the boss of the gods is mother earth who was like "no i dont fw that u cant bend the laws of death" which becomes the trigger for the apocalypse to happen (by natural causes) world split in half everybody dies allat. BUT taro being the god of sin and karma plays a HUGE role in holding the "end of the world event", BUT hes not doing his job bc hes playing house house with the human he married. which causes a delay in the whole apocalypse schedule. which sparked a lotta anger from the heavens above hell below and whatnot. long story short, shit does not end happily, his family dies and he continues being a lonely immortal dreading the day he was born a god, not a boy. the end.

yeah um i actually hate their canon story haha so theres TONS of aus i made for them. one where theyre both human and happy (sorta), one where they grow old together and the story passes down to their kids and their shenanigans, one where a good amount of ppl actually survived the apocalypse and started a new era. theres even some that only carries a few aspects of the canon lore, but in itself is actually a whole different story lmao. yeah theres TONS.

Do u think there'll be any TGD Virtues that turn out to be alright and maybe end up befriending the Smiling Dead?

That’s a good question 🤔 tbh I’m not sure! I’m unsure how the other virtues will be used in the series at all, since we’re seeing some pretty unique takes on the representations of them. At least, for Temperance we are. Diligence is pretty expected as a military official, but Temperance being a scientist/doctor is very interesting. The fact that he was defeated by the Vice that is the opposite of him (ie. Gluttony by way of consuming his brain) is very interesting. I don’t know for sure if him and Diligence are dead or not (I think it’d be somewhat disappointing if they’re dead after only their very first appearances), but I think that’s something that could be analyzed.

Based on the almost dystopian depiction of the heaven in TGD (I say heaven instead of Heaven because this is definitely it’s own thing separate from Christian lore, just inspired by it) I want to imagine each virtue will have a hefty role in the running of it. I really like how the Gaslight District wiki describes each of the virtues, and will try to make my guesses on how they’ll be, based on mostly those:

My guesses might be…

- Patience: I could see Patience working alongside Diligence as a member of the armies, but working more behind-the-scenes as a strategist! Mapping out attacks and getting intel on the goings-on of the Gaslight District, working out ways to keep them in-line while the prophecy brews. I think they’d but heads with Diligence a lot, since Diligence seems a bit more on the impulsive side, whereas Patience is more about taking one’s time. I think they’d make Patience a guy more likely but I’d love it to be a gal instead 🤔. Would NOT get along with the Smiling Dead.

- Humility: A diplomat between the Virtues and the Rotlings. I could see them having less of an obvious bias against the citizens of the Gaslight District, but still being visibly uncomfortable when they get close enough to touch them. Not the strongest, would have to be protected by Diligence or another Virtue whenever they visited the district. I could see this either being a man or a woman, I think either would make for an interesting character here. This one I don’t think would befriend the Smiling Dead but an interaction would be inevitable, and I think it’d be a pretty okay one! Bread Head would probably terrify them haha

- Charity: Perhaps would properly the delivery of resources to and from heaven to the Gaslight District- like, after the truck(s) is/are dropped off they’d be the one keeping inventory alongside all of the other Rotlings they have hired (I assume that all of those soldiers were all rotlings? They looked to be). I think they’d be pretty neutral about the Rotlings and the Smiling Dead, mostly pitying them all for how much they force themselves to suffer by wasting the shipments they receive on their indulgences. No idea if this one would be male or female.

- Chastity: Oversees the breeding and care of all angelic babies, tending to and taking care of the Angel Mother. Maybe help her preen her feathers and keep the nests clean. I’d probably guess this one would be a female, just because I could imagine them having a midwife sort of motif to her. Would probably exchange idle chatter with the Angel Motehr about the goings-on, and provide emotional support to the poor bird. Though her, ah, borderline obsession with the prophecy may rub her the wrong way. I think she’d be much more chill with the Smiling Dead, especially Mel.

- Kindness: Youngest and most naive of the Virtues- not a child, just younger and not taken anywhere near as seriously. I could see them working alongside Chastity on raising the young, newly-born angels. Those little tree areas that they’re all hanging out in when Breadhead shows up? They’d be the ones tending to those plants and making sure they’re all healthy, as terrifying as they look. To balance it out, I could see this character being a guy. He wouldn’t care much about the Smiling Dead, but in general would not be a fan of Rotlings.

Probably totally out-there with these guesses, but who knows! We’ll have to wait and see I suppose 🤔

These were redesigned versions of some old designs I made for these characters back in like 2022 lol. I barely made much headcanons for these three but I may as well reveal them since they may be used for my crumbling AU lol

Anaheim Gals Being Anaheim Pals

12 Days of Aniblogging 2024, Day 2

Zeta Gundam has a real lurching, strange start by design. In the time between the One Year War and the Gryps Conflict, things have gone terribly! Not only did a good amount of Zeon’s forces escape to the asteroid belt and start rebuilding, the Earth Federation is getting taken over from within by the ruthless Titans. But wait, the Titans are still feddies at the end of the day, so why are they the ones piloting Hizacks and other Zeon-style designs at the start of the show?

The answer to this is brilliant and sadly relegated to a narrative footnote. You see, after the One Year War, Zeonic’s personnel and blueprints got absorbed into Gundam manufacturer Anaheim Electronics, as part of an Operation Paperclip-style deal. This leaves Anaheim's mobile suit aesthetics during the interwar period a total hodgepodge, iterating on both GM and Zaku style designs while also moving forward with plenty of secret prototype successors to the RX-78 Gundam. Maybe it’s just the OL in me, but this particular era and company really pique my interest! The culture shock and office politics that would follow from Anaheim folding in the engineers from the other side of the last war, the competition between rival design teams, the back-channel deals of an arms manufacturer now compelled to play both sides…

I’d been told that the Gundam OVA entitled Stardust Memory was vaguely about this, but I’d also been told that Stardust Memory was terrible and just plain not worth watching, so I steered away from it. Instead, my prayers were answered in the form of a lovely 2009 yuri doujin visual novel called Anaheim Girl’s Love Story.

First things first, I would like to simply acknowledge the joy of being alive, and alive at this exact moment in time. It is so wonderful that a group of dedicated fans made a complete visual novel starring lesbian office workers at the Mecha War Crime Engineering Company. And not only did they realize this dream in the first place, a separate group translated the script into English in 2013, and then another team reverse-engineered the game’s engine and released a patch in 2020 so that now the translation can be experienced in its original format. Each and every one of you is a true yuri warrior.

Anaheim Girl’s Love Story is a passion project through and through, extrapolating from all the bits and pieces of lore we get about Anaheim Electronics across various shows and crafting a believable setting, while still making it feel like a Gundam story on some level. It’s also fully voice acted? I don’t know what typical doujin VN production values were like in 2009, but still, color me impressed. We play as Rinne, a new recruit to Anaheim and a mecha otaku through and through. She loves these mobile suits, just like you and me! And she wants nothing more than to work for the company who invented the Gundam. Anaheim is a tech company through and through – most of the workers on the ground really believe in what they’re doing and put their whole heart into it, even as their leadership takes on increasingly shady and secretive contracts. But it’s also implied, in the VN and in the Gundam shows, that the company is staffed by mostly women. Great! I really do like when a setting asserts that being invested in mecha is primarily something that women do. After all, girls were the ones that kept 0079 popular in the first place according to Tomino.

All of the Anaheim girls have pale blue double-breasted suit jackets and long pencil skirts, culminating in an extremely 80’s look. AGLS also covers its blurry background photos with a dark blue filter, resulting in a fairly monochrome game where the character expressions really pop out from everything else. The mecha CGs are surprisingly well done, even if they suffer a bit from 2000’s shading syndrome, when everyone went a little too hard on the airbrush. The character portraits holds up a lot better in comparison. All of this to say that the presentation is fairly minimal, as they were clearly working with limited resources, but it gets the job done.

Rinne likes milk tea and is equal amounts excited and anxious about her job. This is the sort of milquetoast relatable protagonist traits you’d find in any dating sim, so the fun twist here is that when she’s feeling down about her work, she’ll go to the hanger where an RX-78 (the RX-78? It’s left unclear) is being stored and start talking to it. Rubber-ducking your mobile suit designs with an actual mobile suit is cute!! Things unfold as you’d expect, with Rinne befriending her hacker kouhai, starting a rivalry with the office villainess, and getting intimidated by her boss Sophie. It’s nothing revolutionary, but that’s fine, because the setting alone does a ton of the lifting. While no named characters from any official Gundam series appear, they’re namedropped ever so occasionally, and there’s plenty of cameos and lore sprinkled about for a Universal Centuryhead to lap up.

Of course, Rinne invites her boss over for dinner a bunch and discovers her soft and vulnerable side, and the two of them engage in a slowburn office situationship while trying to also trying to win the Gundam Development Project, an internal competition to develop next-generation experimental mobile suits. And wouldn’t you know it, office politics are afoot. She’s been keeping it from Rinne, but Sophie was originally an engineer from Zeonic. Trust issues ensue, as do complicated feelings about being in love with someone who designed the weapons that nearly killed you. The leadership of Anaheim has a clear bias towards Federation-style suits, and still views the Zeonic hires with scorn and suspicion, even if they bring useful perspectives in design philosophy. Sophie wants to design every part with cost and performance in mind! That’s what enabled the Zakus, after all. But if we skip ahead and look at the results, the end goal of this intra-office competition seems to have been extravagance bordering on wastefulness. Rinne and Sophie’s team produce a fairly standard but combat-versatile Gundam, while the other teams contributed a hyper-flexible Gundam, a hilariously overinflated mobile armor that you can stick a Gundam into, and a Gundam with a fucking nuke attached to it.

Most romance VNs and stories in general have some sort of last-act plot development that threatens to end things so the couple can bounce back and have a narrative climax. Sickness, family, trauma, a breakup feint, really anything is fair game. Anaheim Girl’s Love Story pulls out the most brutal one yet – “Stardust Memory happened”. It turns out that Anaheim has been playing both sides of the emerging Delaz conflict, and was planning on giving your team’s ship to a particularly unhinged Zeon commander as a gift of goodwill and temporary alliance. In doing so, they dismantle the iconic Gundam armor from the mobile suit frame, replacing it with a new and undeniably Zeonic red outer shell. It’s a genuinely fucked-up moment! To see your child ripped away from you and corrupted into being the other kind of war crimes monster, and your boss/girlfriend knew this was going to happen and was too ashamed to tell you. Rinne runs out of oxygen while trying to stop the Gebera Tetra from deploying, and falls into a coma afterwards. By the time she wakes up, the events of Stardust Memory have all played out, and things are in the process of returning to normal. Our protagonist ends up on a research vessel to Jupiter to test cutting-edge mobile suits, but promises to meet up with Sophie again when she returns. One wonders if she got recruited into joining Paptimus’ crew while on Jupiter, and was subsequently killed by Kamille. The timelines just barely overlap to make it possible!

Anyways, that’s Anaheim Girl’s Love Story. I’m not sure how fleshed out the hacker girl’s route is, or if there are different endings I could have gotten on mine. Maybe I’ll give it another shot next year. This game is by no means amazing. It is on some level just a softcore lesbian eroge with a Gundam coat of paint. But the delicacy with which it fits itself into the UC chronology without messing things up or being a fully irrelevant plot, the care put into having these ladies fall in love and do the usual OL yuri rituals, the honesty with which it carries itself… I’m so charmed by it all. I don’t know if I’d recommend it outright (you’d want to already be very invested in this slice of Gundam, and you need a VM with an older version of Windows to play it, and I think the website linking to the patch went down earlier this year), but I’m so happy that this exists in the first place and that I got to play it.

What I am less happy about is that this visual novel made me trick myself into watching Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. This is entirely on me, mind. Most lesbians are fooled into watching Stardust Memory because they saw images of Cima Garahau online, but I was ready for that trick. No, I genuinely wanted to fill in the finer plot details of the 6.5/10 visual novel I just played. Oopsies.

HI okay so first off if youre reading this. welcome! it is very late and my thoughts will be jumbled

basically… stex hadestown au. rusty and pearl are orpheus and eurydice, i debated dinah and greaseball but dinah has a different part to play here ;)

i don’t really have a solid reason why i chose prusty other than the fact that they are stex’s leading couple. HOWEVER, i drew a lot from pearl’s abandonment of rusty for electra and geeb, and her as eurydice made a lot of sense to me. the whole “i want to do my best in life so i must betray my heart” vibe is so her… pearl i love u

however… hades!electra and persephone!joule have more weight to them :3c electra is of course there because of pearl’s plotline, but i also wanted them to fit with the ‘i conduct the electric city’ thing. electra and hades are both very prideful and kind of control freaks to me (i say ‘kind of’ bc of electra we all know how hades is). i had a bit of trouble with choosing persephone though because i fear i am an electra and components polycule truther

however i wound up choosing joule! initially it was for her line “electra is hot” and i basically went hot -> warm -> keeping the mortals (trains..) warm. i also think the concept of maybe persephone!joule started out as a genuinely warm gal, more fireplaces and embers, and as electra grew more restricting over her, she became more explosive, putting on firework shows for those who dare to ask. she still runs the speakeasy, but i think she also loves to provide that spark of color and adrenaline for the workers

the featured workers are in fact the components btw :)) and maybe freight as well because i think slick beating up rusty would be funny. cb may be in this as well but i really do not know where i would fit him in 😭 so devastated bc hes my favorite in stex

which brings us to the fates. remember hadestown’s “wherever it was this poor girl went, the fates were close behind”? and pearl always hangs around the coaches! so tassita, belle, and dinah are the fates. lurking, warning, spinning prophecies in hushed voices… golly i love the idea of the usually fun group being so haunting. and like specifically “why the struggle, why the strain?” and also “who are you to lead them/her?” GUYS PLEASE TELL ME YOU SEE MY VISION!!

i have one more character to talk about… and that’s hermes! in his place is momma, naturally! she took rusty in when he was very young, as per the hadestown plotline, and it’s her who gives him the push he needs to talk to pearl. i think she holds power over a lot of the other deified trains, but for all her trying, she just can’t get through to electra. which is why she raises rusty with a strong sense of right and wrong, and the ability to speak up, out, and defend himself. it’s also why she raises him knowing how to take care of someone he loves. she doesn’t want him going down the same path as the doomed electra and joule.

i have been cooking up this au all day guys oh my gosh. im so happy i finally got to draw it 🙏 im incorporating a mix of old and new designs but for the sake of simplicity, the characters themselves are based on the london personalities. i just think leccy and joule having their older designs emphasizes that hades and persephone are older than the others!

The ball game already filled that role back then. Or maybe Xbalanque was instructed by Waxaklahun to pierce Xiuhcoatl's eyes? Probably. It's stated that his eyes were Xiuhcoatl's weak point, and the writing suggests that this mutilation happened during the battle, which could potentially render my point to a moot. Though I persist, I shall hate Xbalanque by his sin of defeating my King😠

2. Where the fuck you did you get that source Traveler😭 And how the fuck that we didn't know about that??? Did you do some off-screen explorations of Natlan or did Mavuika told you😭 the same Mavuika that told 'Xbalanque' that Ochkanatlan is a tourist spot now???

3. What victim's family??? Waxaklahun??? The rest of the dragons??? What fair treatment???Because ngl, I have the feeling that Xbalanque’s so-called "peace agreement" with the dragons is so... insidious, if I can say so. Alright he made an oath with Waxaklahun to maintain the peace between the dragons and humans, but he had the brilliant idea to appoint Och-Kan to be the next ruler after him. You know, Och-Kan, who even worried their teammates over his overenthusiasm to subjugate the dragons.

...It was from their enemies that he learned the language and thought patterns required to do this. For him, wielding these skills against them was perhaps a deeply satisfying act of revenge. Yet his unconcealed hatred for them was a recurring cause of great concern among his fellow heroes.

Like if Xbalanque had even a modicum of sincerity, he'd appoint someone who was connected among the dragons and humans, like Lianca. She was raised by a dragon and her tribe accepted dragons. Though I'd admit, since the lore describes her as a freedom-loving gal who didn't use hierarchy in her tribe, I doubt she'd agree to the appointment. (Personally, though? Lianca deserves better than being betrayed by Och-Kan and her child.) But hey, anyone but the racist homosexual man himself! Was Och-Kan that good of a bedmate that you appointed him as your successor, Xbalanque??? If you keep insisting, at the very least teach him to be less racist to himself and the dragons man😭

Or maybe it was his plan? Remember, he saw the vision of the future. And whatever 'hope' he saw from it, he thought that not only the dragons, but his friends, his people, and even Och-Kan's sufferings, are worth it. Man the more I think of it the more insidious he feels...

I have another point, but I shall bring it up in the next post. For now, I just want to simmer in anger and be a hater of Xbalanque😤

Tl;dr: Xbalanque's 'mercy' to the dragons ain't shit. Mf mutilated Xiuhcoatl's corpse and then apponted Och-Kan to be his successor, who not only fucked over the dragons with his fantastic racism, but also the whole Ochkanatlan. And it could be his plan all along because he saw the future, after all.

But for in-universe lore BASICALLY kind of what I wrote in the silly TH.

It's like Pin's development in the show, but backwards, kinda. She goes from a somewhat leaderly gal to a worried mess to a spiteful ally.

She was adventurous and good at keeping things together with her buddy Conker. When the apocalypse starts going down, she and Conker bunk with Geovani, Nel and Sterling (Golf Ball, Needle and Tennisball) in some sort of hidden space ship they're building to get away from the horrors. Pax takes a lower role because she doesn't feel she can't be responsible for the lives of her teammates, and helps Conker and Nel gather scrap instead. Her growing anxiety causes her to make a FATAL BLUNDER, and she's caught under the fire of GEARSOME (basically FreeSmart). She is practically dead but Conker retrieves her, and Geovani and Sterling find a way to bring her back to life FRANKENSTIEN STYLE! Takes a few months, but She's up and running again!! Except she dislikes being a killer cyborg robot thing. She wants to go back to normal. Her teammates think she's more useful this way, so she leans into the killer robot motif too much and ends up being an asshole to everyone who wanted her to be more destructive as retaliation. Her team puts up with it, UNTIL!! GEARSOME attacks again to take Nel and Pax hostage, and form a forced alliance. Now I'm figuring out where to take her and Conker's story from there.

GOSH OKAY. I’m not really sure where to start, I guess I’ll give some backstory for Natalia? Be warned it is really… Really… Long…

Natalia was born and raised in Unova. Both of her parents divorced when she was young, her father was the pinnacle of alcoholic douchebag while her mother was now a single mother of two trying to raise 3 children.

As a child Nat was very lonely, being a little girl with undiagnosed neurodivergence made her a target for bullying. She was close with her older siblings, having an age gap with them they took on the caretaker role while their mother was busy with work. But a big turning point for her was when her older brother passed away. It was incredibly difficult for her as he was one of the few people that understood her, and from there things only went downhill.

Everyday was battle of trying to overcome her depression. After her brother passed the bullying she faced only got worse, eventually getting to a point that she would attempt suicide. She felt alone, isolated from the world with no one she could turn to. The only person she was close to wasn’t there anymore, and she pushed away everyone else. But one day during recess, she would come across a small zorua behind the school trash bin. It was cold and shivering and without a mother, which was extremely odd for such a young pup. Natalia could relate to its struggle of loosing someone, and would take it in and care for it, eventually naming the little gal Vixen.

Years would pass and Nat and Vixen were nearly inseparable. The two were like family, always looking out for each other no matter what. Eventually her, her sister and her mother would move to Alola. Despite the bond she’d make with Vixen, the teen angst she felt would still reside within her. This would fully manifest in joining Team Skull.

She thought joining Team Skull would finally give her a place she’d belong, but only found she still felt ostracized among her peers. No one wanted to associate with someone on the verge of tears at any moment, it wasn’t becoming of a team member. But during this time she would still somehow form a romantic relationship with Guzma. In no way was it healthy. She was codependent on him and relied on him for nearly every want and need. She’d cling to him, fearful of being alone.

But after a certain dream something in her would change. She didn’t want this, she was only getting worse. Was this really what her brother would have wanted? So after a stressful time of contemplating she decided to leave Team Skull and break up with Guzma for good.

A little while after leaving, her cousin Shauntal would get back in contact with her. The two were friends as children, but became distant as Natalia grew older and became more jaded. Hearing about Natalia’s situation, she thought what perfect opportunity for her to get a fresh new start than to move to Unova. There her cousin would aid her and encourage her enough to live on her own in a small apartment in Nimbasa City, all while Natalia would gain a tattoo apprenticeship under a tattoo artist there.

Things were finally looking up for Nat, but she was most surprised when she found herself gaining a crush on one of the Subway Bosses of the Battle Subway after doing a Multi Train with her cousin. Little did she know, Ingo had gained feelings for her too. The bigger problem was the two were both incredibly shy when it came to confessions, so it took some effort on their relatives part to get them together. But after months of pining, they would make things official.

Years would go by, and all was going well in Nat’s life for once, completing her apprenticeship and becoming a tattoo artist herself. It was perfect, that was until her father tried to creep his way back in after learning that she moved back to the region. He wasn’t particularly the best father in her youth, the court ordered visits to him during the summer as a teen only caused her stress (the only saving grace being she got to spend time with her cousin). But she was willing to give him a second chance. She was able to change, so why couldn’t he?

But soon she’d learn not everyone was willing to. Her father would demean and degrade her, insulting her casually whenever he got the chance. He was the same as he was when she was a child, but after he latched onto her, she couldn’t shake him off.

What was meant to be a fresh new start only had Natalia tuning back to her same bad habits, isolating herself and even lashing out at the people she loved. She saw herself becoming the same person she was before she had moved there. But this time was different, she knew what was happening, and she knew she could stop it. So out of fear that she’d return to the same person she was, she would abruptly move back to Alola, breaking up with Ingo and leaving him behind in the process.

Still despite the abrupt break up he would promise he would wait for her until she was ready, whenever that would be. 🖤

BUT ILL STOP HERE BECAUSE THIS IS TURNING INTO A NOVEL ATP. But yeah! This is the base of the Natalia (with some Ingo) lore! More stuff happens after this too, but maybe I’ll save that for a different time? Also lots of details I left out in here too. The end of this lore blurp is between the end of BW2 and the beginning of USUM. But if you wanted to hear more I’m always happy to lore dump for her!
