Even though they'd been dating for--well, he didn't know how long now--Melvin wasn't sure what to get as a birthday present for his girlfriend. Which sounded terrible. That was until an idea struck him, and he remembered Sydney's collection that tied into her ability.

Things are rough irl right now, and the stress of it's triggered flareups from my chronic illnesses, so I'm going to be very limited active for a bit while I recover from the worst of that and try to work some things out regarding the current situation. I'll be making a post explaining what's going on in the semi-near future, but right now, I just don't have the spoons to do so.

One small thing though:

If you're able and willing, please consider buying me a coffee - like I said, things are rough, and any money I receive will be going toward food, medicines, and keeping my internet connected in the coming months. For now, suffice it to say that I need nearly $300/mo to survive, and I currently have $10 to my name, and am unable to work due to chronic illness, so any help is greatly appreciated.

So I've got a dinner with my friend this evening! She wants me to know her boyfriend better, it's nice. The only thing I know about him is that he is obsessed about Harry Potter, which uhh- de gustibus non disputandum est, they say. Still.

Then I remember when during summer my friend tried to set me up with one of her boyfriend's friends and I had to come out to her AND explain what asexuality was in one afternoon. Very stressful. I really hope I won't have to do that again, especially tonight. There will be a friend of my friend's boyfriend at the dinner, and I really hope that wasn't made with any 'setting up' intention. Luckily they'll all be too intent to watch the football match to care for me at all tonight.

Also I haven't really had a social interaction in over a year so I guess my slight anxiety is because my social skills are pretty rusty. We'll see.

She's the only friend that I know in this town now, the other two have gone living somewhere else, and I do feel lonely sometimes, but meeting new people is still scary and I don't know why. I guess that it's easier to find new 'friends' on the internet (because you meet people based on your interests and/or fandoms) than it is to find via other friends.

Anyway, I just hope that it won't be a set-up or I will have to spend the evening guilty and disappointed, pretending to half-enjoy the meeting just for the sake of my friend, because we've known each other since we were eight/nine years old and I don't want to lose her too.

And also adulting is hard and feelings too.
