senku being such a gen hater is literally one of my favourite things ever because wdym he imagines blowing up a gen statue in the anime

i mean senku's feelings when it comes to people basically vary from neutral to positive. like dude is all about treating everyone equally, I Have No Enemies and whatnot. his enemies can literally attempt to murder him ten billion times and he'd still be super chill with them. and yet here comes gen, a famous magician who he deems a conman, and he gets soooo triggered by his very existence. senku, who is ALSO a fan of scheming and at the mere age of 10 manipulated nasa scientists into believing that he's only 7 for better cutesy points btw. yeah that senku has such strong negative emotions toward gen being a fraud too somehow

he brings up how trash gen's psychology book is at every chance, refuses to call gen a friend at first because "he's only an ally chrome!", sends him a hate letter via gen's radio shows, blows up a gen statue in his head...

the way these feelings are pretty irrational and yet gen is the only one who can truly get on senku's nerves. it's the funniest thing ever i love sengen

Phainon rarely stirs before the sun is properly settled into the sky, and when he does, it’s with a quiet, careful grace—as if the morning needs to be approached with reverence. His hair usually falls loose and featherlight around his face in the mornings, soft silver strands catching the light in disarray. His eyes, so piercing when alert, are still clouded with sleep, gentled into a shade of something almost boyish.

You hear him before you see him—the soft rustle of blankets, the muted step of bare feet across the wooden floor. The apartment is still and golden with morning, and you’re already at your desk, coffee gone cold beside your open notebook.

His arms wrap around you from behind. His chin settles lightly on your shoulder, and his warmth sinks into you.

“You’re up early,” he murmurs, his voice low and slow.

You smile faintly, eyes on your notes. “So are you.”

He hums in reply, a quiet sound you feel on your back. He leans into you, still draped in sleep and the scent of clean cotton and something you can’t name, something you’ve started to associate with him alone.

He shifts slightly, enough to glance down at the page in front of you. Your notes, your diagrams, your scribbled equations tracing the edge of thought.

A subtle curve appears at the corner of his mouth.

“You’re already unraveling the stars,” he says softly, a wry little thread beneath the quiet.

“Someone has to,” you murmur. “The sky’s not going to decode itself.”

He exhales, nose brushing the curve of your cheek, unusually silent.

You nudge back into him with a quiet laugh, his presence folding around you like silk.

Phainon rarely lets the world see him unguarded; regal, composed, always in control. But here, in the gentle hush of morning, he is just a man in love with a mind with the insistence of a star whose light he cannot look away from.
