vampires are so cool because one of their abilities is having their senses heightened to an almost unnatural degree - I want a reader who has that same ability, but I don't want them to be a vampire, just super skilled with their senses - how would a reader who's not a vampire have heightened senses? idk,,, what type of humans have heightened senses? - ...blind ppl (💀) have heightened senses cuz they can't see, so they have to rely on the other five to get by (because I believe in sixth senses lol)... crazy connetion, but it's true💀 - LOL imagine remmick and reader going sense for sense fr tho.

Unpopular HelPol opinions
Disclaimer: my wording is blunt and harsh in this, if that's something that makes you uncomfortable, proceed with caution!!
I could give less of a shit about people referring to gods as "Lord" and "lady". Yeah it isn't traditional, but we live in 2025, a lot is different in terms of how people choose to show their respect. An extra layer of respect never hurt anybody, and with good intentions it's literally such a non issue
The offerings of OTHER PRACTICIONERS shouldn't matter at all to YOU. if it does, you're probably insecure. If you genuinely give a shit and try to police what other people offer, instead of just letting them accept consequences if they offer something the gods don't like, you're a weirdo. The exception to this is if someone is going to offer something like blood, and you warn them. That's in good faith. Telling people that their offerings are WRONG will only push them farther away. Let people make mistakes and learn. 
While Apollo and Hyacinthus technically do have the same type of relationship as Zeus and Ganymede, it's perfectly okay if people have a hard time separating Zeus and Ganymede from a less savory version of the myth. It's the same thing that happened to Persephone, so I see no reason why we can't view it the same with Zeus and Ganymede, with respect and reverence, but an inherent vibe of tragedy. That isn't for everyone, and everyone has a different view of the gods, but some people relate to Ganymede because they've been victimized, and that's perfectly okay. 
Priesthood, godspousal, etc, is not anyone's business but the practicioner. So many of you are really weird, why do you care? 
I believe Zagreus is an epithet of Dionysus, and I believe Melionë is an epithet of Hekate. It's very valid to view both as separate, I just personally do not!!
I will always use the English names for the gods on social media. It's much more screen reader friendly, where as using the Greek names makes it much less accessible to a disabled audience as the reader trips over it. The only benefit is that it makes you sound more well read and slightly more respectful. You can do what you want, but I'll use the more common versions of the names so that they can be easily recognized by anyone using a screen reader. 
While Apollo was never ORIGINALLY considered a god of the sun, years and years of him being associated with the sun is culturally significant enough that ignoring it isn't accuracy, it's ignorance. You don't have to include every aspect of every god in your practice, especially one you don't vibe with, but other people can absolutely view the gods however they please. Disagreement about this didn't be something that genuinely divides people, it's immature. 
I don't think there's anything wrong with worshipping the primordials. I've seen people claim that for one, you only worship the gods to get something out of it, and that there's nothing to get out of the primordials. For one, I think that's ridiculous and offensive to think that people only worship the gods to get something out of it. For another, I think building a relationship with the primordials is actually incredibly important!! Forces like sleep, the night, the sun, death, they all have impact on our lives in big ways.
If you have an Olympian that you don't want to interact with for whatever reason, but you interact with the rest of the pantheon (that part is important) maybe it's just not the right religion for you. If there's a god that's so important as to be an Olympian and you refuse to include them in your practice, it's uneducated and disrespectful. 
The gods DO care about you. Kharis is still very important, but I've been seeing growing sentiment that the gods don't care about their worshippers, even with kharis. Why are you even following a religion if you think your gods don't care about you? 
Just because a god had no cult practices in antiquity (that we know of) doesn't mean that you can't still worship them and build a relationship with them. 
The people on this app who are the most vocally anti priesthood are friends with priests. If you can only justify your beliefs when it's people you like, maybe what you actually have is a bias.
UPG is not as important as knowing the fundamentals of the religion, but I genuinely believe that if you have no UPGs at all, you have no relationship with the gods.

Thoughts on Matt's 'This all feels fake' line from the last DDBA episode and why it was a genius move
I've had a night to think and process the episode last night, and the more I think about it, the more I think that line was the absolute best way to go.

Let's set aside 'is the show good or bad' for a moment since everyone's vibing with it differently (we know where I stand, I'm happy and having a grand old time, but that's not important). Let's instead think about where Scardapane and the new writers found themselves when they were hired on to do the rewrites and reshooting.
Imagine being a cook. A good one. And someone comes to you, with an absolute dumpster fire of a cake. 'Hey man, we got the potluck in a few hours. It's really important there's a cake since it's someone's birthday. If you fix this, I'll let you bake the next one.'
Except the cake is a mess. Parts of it are burned, the flavor's all wrong, it's unfinished, and you have no idea why it's shaped the way it is.
You don't have the time or all the ingredients needed to entirely make a new cake. Your only option is to save what you can and cut off what you can't, and then build from there.
But how do you do that?
That's essentially where they were, writing-wise. The OG writers had created an absolute mess, something that didn't feel like Matt at all, something that had no respect for all of the lore and character building that came before. And it's definitely not the Netflix vibe show that Feige had asked for (which was why that team was fired, shocker). But reshooting the entire season would have thrown off the larger schedule, it would have required contract changes, and it'd be expensive as hell. That meant they had to use at least some of the footage that had already been shot, and build onto it rather than sweeping it away. But what do you do when the new footage you want to shoot has a very different vibe than the old footage? Especially when those two energies are very, very different?
Answer: you acknowledge it.
There's a technique in writing known as lampshade hanging, when instead of ignoring something that's implausible or weird, you point it out instead and move on, while also sometimes using it to advance the narrative. It's one of my favorite tropes! I love to use it, and I love to see it used.
Even better? They made it feel weird, which is something multiple people have brought up as a theory, this idea that it's intentional, and I agree with them. Even some of the teaser trailers before DDBA came out even played off of that feeling, Matt's voice hoarse and dark as a monologue while beneath his voice you get an eerily soundtracked montage of him going through his new 'normal' life day after day after day in a way that makes it clear this new life doesn't fit, and it never will.

I've been fascinated by how they've played it over this first season, both the writers and Charlie himself, using these jarring tonal differences to leave you intentionally unsettled. Sometimes it's done with music, like that early scene where Matt's getting ready for his day, clearly repressing and disassociating his way through life, all while more upbeat music is playing, or the slight alteration to our OG Daredevil theme. Sometimes it's a subtle pattern, these little ticks and tells from Charlie's portrayal - Matt always wearing his glasses even in softer scenes because he doesn't feel safe with these new people around him that are supposedly his friends, hell, even in his own apartment when he's entirely alone because it's not a home like his last place was.

And then there are moments like last night, when Matt literally came out and said it: this all feels fake sometimes. It's not my home. This isn't my life.
We know he doesn't belong there. And they managed to change the original story so that Matt? Matt knows that, too. He's known the entire time.
It weaves a thread through all the original footage, the tonal differences, and Matt's behavior. It's a thread that not only amounts to the new writers saying to us, the audience, 'trust us, we know,' but it's also one that reinforces this idea that Matt is literally just fucking faking it in the hopes that it will keep him away from Daredevil, in the hopes that he can be the man he thinks Foggy would have wanted. He's trying so hard to live that perfect, happy, wonderful life while repressing all of his trauma and depression and it's left him in this bizarre otherworld that he doesn't recognize. He's not himself. It grates on him every day.
And it makes that creeping darkness, that gritty reality, that dirt on his hands and the blood on his lips and his visceral screams all the more thrilling when it edges in, because that? That is the real Matt, his true self, the Devil tearing its way out of the prison he's trapped it in just long enough to bare its teeth and snap and bite before he forces it back into its cell.

And god does it feel real compared to the moments where Matt is just pretending this is all fine, all bright, all good.
I fucking love that they went in that direction. It's the best thing they could have done when locked into reusing the old footage which was different in tone than the Netflix vibe they want to bring back. It was always going to be jarring mashing both of them together. So they ran with it.
Like I said, I'm already really happy with DDBA. Some eps nailed it for me better than others (Ep 6 is just an absolute blast), but even when it gets a little rough, there's this sense of Scardapane and the new writers giving us a wink going, 'yup, we know. Just hang in there until we're not bound by old footage and we can take you on a fucking ride.'
They want what we want. And they're going to take us there. That line solidified it for me. I'm so fucking pumped for Season 2 when the chains are off and they're free to come out swinging.

satoru gojo is annoying.
it might seem blunt, but after many weeks of careful thinking, you’ve decided no description could possibly fit him better. 
when you first met him, on that first day of school, you had no idea what to think. no real expressions or tonal shifts to clue you in on who he was, how he felt — nothing but the slightest peek of a terrifying blue to set your nerves on edge. 
in hindsight, you’re almost certain it was intentional. he wanted to appear unreadable. purposefully hiding his personality and mannerisms, to gain the upper hand — observing you, dissecting you inside his mind, while revealing nothing about himself apart from his surname. 
it’s a kind of power; a safety measure.
… but evidently, holding back isn’t exactly gojo’s forte. the very next morning, he was already beginning to loosen up, after getting more accustomed to the new environment and classmates. showing you his true colours; just a little hint of cerulean, a single dip of paint on the blank canvas of his soul.
and with the revelation of his genuine personality — your unease around him festered even more.
where could you even begin to describe him? for one, he’s childish. and cocky. and loud. arrogant, selfish and flamboyant — just generally an asshole? you could go on and on. none of the traits are particularly flattering, and you know he couldn’t care less.
gojo is annoying, plain and simple. almost constantly up to something, eager to push someone’s buttons, to get attention. like a bratty toddler. uninterested in manners, or even common courtesy; he says what he feels, regardless of how other people take it. 
to put it simply, he has no regard for the people around him. his self-interest is limitless. 
as if that wasn’t annoying enough — you have no choice but to admit that he does have a certain presence to him. a kind of charisma, or what you think could become charisma, if he’d just get off that high horse already. he won’t, though. you know he won’t. he revels in it, in looking down on everything and everyone, annoyingly boisterous and irritatingly tall. freaky, long limbs. like a noodle and an alien had a baby.
but, more than anything — above all else — what frustrates you most is the fact that his unbridled confidence isn’t exactly unwarranted.
as much as it pains you to say it… gojo is maybe just a little bit incredible. a natural-born genius. he’s intelligent, and observant, and awfully pretty, with those baby blues eyes and those snowy locks of hair. and he has no issue getting what he wants. 
absolutely zero. 
there’s something admirable about it, in a twisted way. like he doesn’t even need to try. he’s good at anything, if he just gives it a single chance. you can only assume he’s never given much thought to the prospect of being a decent guy, because that’s the only thing he sucks at.
effortlessly perfect, in the most imperfect of ways. that’s probably how you’d describe him.
… annoying is still the most fitting word, though. or maybe obnoxious. he’s got this spoiled rich kid vibe that irks you, gets under your skin. you doubt he’s ever had to empathize with anyone, in his entire life. 
and, yes — maybe you’re being a little harsh to him. but why should you bother being jovial when he won’t return the favour?
gojo is annoying; and when you say that, you mean annoying to basically everyone. as a basis for existing. always teasing and taunting, looking down from that high horse of his. you’re no exception to this rule, of course. but you’re almost certain that he has it out for you specifically.
you know he looks down on you, from behind those tacky sunglasses. you’re sure of it.
compared to geto or shoko, you aren’t very self-assured — and you think he must have sensed it the moment he laid eyes on you. sensed that you’re a little meek, a bit of a doormat, easy to push around and get a rise out of. maybe he also noticed your apprehension towards him, your apparent unease. 
you’re easy prey, to put it simply.
evidently, he’s developed a fondness for getting under your skin. it started as soon as introductions were over, and it still hasn’t gotten better. he loves catching you off guard, throwing you an unneeded comment or two, just to see what reaction you’ll give him next. almost like he’s solving an equation — said equation being you, the limit of your patience. and you keep giving him what he wants; a scoff, a roll of your eyes, an earnest fuck right off. you can never seem to successfully ignore him. he’s just far, far too good at being insufferable.
… and, more than anything, he’s far too out of reach. even when you try to get along with him, it backfires. you don’t have a single thing in common. you don’t understand him at all. 
(and that suits you just fine.)
a heavy sigh slips from your parted lips, as you examine your blurry reflection in the surface of the mirror. fatigue clings to your skin like a layer of sweat, your mind muddled, stuffed with anxious thoughts and discomforting feelings.
you’re exhausted. completely and utterly spent, even though the day’s barely begun — running on three pitiful hours of sleep, all broken up and jumbled by nightmares that wouldn’t stop spooking you. not a single wink of proper rest. 
and it’s painfully obvious. in your face, your posture, the dark crescents beneath your eyes; in the way you can’t help but drag your legs as you walk, your hair disheveled, little sighs and grumbles slipping from your lips for every step you take. all you can do is sluggishly blink the exhaustion away.
you just feel so tired.
it could be worse, though. you don’t have any classes today, no real reason to get out of your comfy bed, leave the safety of your cozy little dorm room. but you need breakfast, right now, or else you’ll literally explode — so you still get up on shaky legs and try to mimic the appearance of someone… even moderately well-rested.
it doesn’t work, but that’s besides the point. 
so you make your way to the dormitory’s shared kitchen. walking idly — clumsily — enjoying the sight of fleeting, fluttering cherry blossoms through the windows you pass. little pink butterflies.
once you’ve crossed the threshold, you’re relieved to find the open space entirely devoid of people. no shoko, no geto, not even a mischievous gojo. running into the first two wouldn’t be the end of the world — but it still wouldn’t be ideal. you don’t want anyone seeing you like this, tired and meek, a little vulnerable.
(least of all gojo. you shiver at the bare thought.)
with laboured, groggy movements, you waltz around the kitchen, getting cups and plates and turning on the coffee machine. enjoying the soothing melody of the pan sizzling, singing along to the purring of espresso being made. it’s nice and pleasant to your sensitive ears, as you blink under the rays of sunlight shining in, throwing together a lazy breakfast. 
you waste no time in taking a seat by one of the tables once you’re finished. eager to soak in the peace and quiet, wolf down a sandwich and copious amounts of caffeine.
but, as always — the world seems to have it out for you specifically.
”oh? well, look who it is. and here i thought you had left too.”
you stiffen. ever so slightly, barely noticeable, but still enough that you physically feel the dread envelop every single cell of your body. the voice that echoes out across the open air is a chipper one, a familiar one. a voice you were desperately hoping not to hear today. 
all you can do is continue to sip from your cup of coffee, inwardly wincing, silently going through all five stages of grief simultaneously — before accepting your unfortunate predicament. 
(that’s just your luck, isn’t it?)
finally, you raise your weary head, knowing exactly what sight you’ll be met with once you do. 
and, lo and behold — there he is.
gojo looks the same as always. grinning brightly, a little woflish, wearing those ugly sunglasses and making his way across the room like he owns it. a trait you can’t help but admire, envy, hate and worship at the same time. he plops down next to you like it’s nothing, a little too close for comfort, unconcerned about your concept of personal space.
”whatcha up to?” he chirps, in that sugar sweet tone, layered over with a boyish kind of excitement. there’s a teasing tilt to it, too — the one that always accompanies his voice when he’s speaking to you.
under normal circumstances, you’d flip him off. maybe even just glare at him, silently, or raise a brow in challenge.
but you’re far, far too tired to. too anxious. too in need of sleep, in need of a peaceful breakfast that he oh so cruelly ripped from you. all you can muster is the energy to glance his way.
for just a second, your eyes meet. not like you can actually see them, from behind his glasses — but you know they’re there. menacing and uncanny, bright and excited. too much to handle, right now.
”… morning.”
as soon as the mutter has left your lips, you take a tentative bite of your sandwich. gaze trailing sluggishly back to your plate.
gojo blinks.
he immediately notes that your voice sounds meek. even more so than usual. he expected you to give him a scoff, or even just a timid huff — but no such luck. 
you’re just sitting there, quiet, curling into yourself.
after a moment’s consideration, gojo opts to look at you. to really look at you, study your face, the way those twitchy fingers move to curl around the ceramic handle of the cup you’re drinking out of. the way your eyes shift from place to place, unfocused, your eyelids flicking shut every couple seconds. slow.
he’s always been observant — but it doesn’t take a genius to see that you’re tired. 
gojo is silent, for no more than a mere moment; contemplating his next course of action. he’s never seen you like this, before. did something happen?
(— well, it doesn’t matter. not his problem.)
”you look like a zombie,” he grins, a little teasing, showing off the white of his teeth. even though you look out of it, he can’t help himself — despite his own intuition telling him to let you be. 
you’re just too fun to tease. suguru and shoko only ever raise their eyebrows at him, or stare him down like a misbehaving dog, but you always have a good reaction to give. something to entertain him when he’s bored, distract him when his mind is too full of noise. 
so he can’t help but tease you, a little. hoping it’ll soothe the restlessness inside his chest.
but for once, what gojo expects isn’t what he gets. 
what he expects is for you to glare at him. tell him to leave you alone, or even just sigh in exasperation — either one would be fine. it’s just mindless enjoyment, to him, a little fun to lighten up his day. 
especially now, when suguru is away on some day trip he wasn’t privy to. that traitor. shoko is nowhere to be seen, either, probably off smoking in some random alleyway. or hanging out with one of the kyoto losers.
… the whole dorm is so eerily quiet.
(gojo would never admit it, not in a thousand years… but maybe he’d feel just a little bit lonely without any of you around.)
for a while after waking up, he assumed he’d have to spend the whole day alone. no one to talk to, no one to look at. he was practically dying of boredom. but then he entered the kitchen — and saw his saving grace. his dear little irritable classmate. 
he was so relieved. content in the knowledge that he’d get to push your buttons to his heart’s desire, bask in your playful banter and cold, joking little looks until suguru finally comes home.
only this time — you don’t react at all. 
you don’t give him what he expects, don’t indulge his little antics, in the way he’s grown so accustomed to. you just keep eating your breakfast, and drinking your coffee, in total silence. 
gojo waits, just a couple moments more. hoping for a delayed reaction, a witty counter, a snarky comment. anything. 
but it never comes.
finally, he starts to sulk. slumping against the leather seat behind him, quieting down with a low huff. furrowing his brows, as his glossy, cherry-tasting lips curl down into a little pout.
honestly, he’s kind of annoyed. just what is your problem? what is with you, today? 
… it’s no fun if you’re not playing along. 
gojo can’t help but grumble, a little, under his breath. you’re usually so responsive, so easy to rile up. so what’s wrong? why are you just sitting there?
whatever. so what if you’re not talking to him? so what if you won’t even spare him a glance? gojo has better things to do, bigger fish to fry. he wasn’t even that excited, when he saw you. the thought of bantering with you didn’t lift his spirits, even in the slightest. 
not even a little bit.
but, really — would it take so much effort for you to just say something? to just respond to his friendly little quip? you can’t possibly be that tired. 
or, what — did you get insecure, or something? because he called you a zombie? no way. you’re not that sensitive… are you? or is that it? 
what a hassle.
you know he’s just messing with you. he knows you know. so why are you acting so…. 
(sad, gojo wants to think, but he buries the thought before it can reach his frontal cortex. he doesn’t want to empathize with you, not right now — doesn’t want to feel that discomforting pang in his chest.)
a strange sensation bubbles up in his chest. something frustrated, a little unnerved; at your lack of a reaction, the weak glint in your eyes. he just doesn’t understand why — and that frustrates him even more. 
why can’t you just bite back, like always?
(… it’s fun when you do.)
the silence lingers on, stretches out across the room, festers and grows as you gulp down your breakfast. all while gojo keeps on sulking, still sitting beside you, waiting for something to happen. he briefly considers getting up and leaving, or saying something annoying to hopefully spur you on —
but you stand up before he can convince himself to go through with either option.
having finished your breakfast, your legs carry you to the sink. finally, you can head back to your room. gojo’s being weirdly quiet, but you pay no mind to it; methodically washing your dishes in silence. 
you don’t bother saying goodbye to him, either. still sitting there, seemingly deep in thought, grumbling something under his breath. 
he watches as you leave, gaze trailing after you, until you’re completely out of sight. 
then he lays down, flat on his back, with a frustrated huff. trying desperately to brush away the memory of your dim eyes, the slight frown on your lips. the dark circles under your eyes, that he tried so hard not to notice because they made him feel so weirdly uncomfortable. the meek, meek look you gave him.
gojo sighs.
(he feels just a tiny, tiny bit bad.)

when you wake up from your slumber, you immediately note that your body feels lighter.
this time, no nightmares came to haunt you. having practically collapsed once your head hit the pillow, your body finally decided to give you some peace of mind, some well needed rest. thankfully.
with a groan, you lazily stretch out your limbs — enjoying the feeling of your veins waking up, gaze falling on the clock on your wall. you’ve only been asleep for about two hours, or so, but it’s more than enough to give you the little jolt of energy that you need.
what to do, what to do. you still have the whole day ahead of you. another nap wouldn’t hurt, but you don’t want to waste your precious free time just rotting in bed — maybe you could take a walk around the schoolyard instead? the cherry blossoms have started to unfurl, and the grounds of the school are just littered with them.
even just the mental image is enough to have you changing into some light and comfortable clothes, reaching a hand out to push your door open. excitement stirring in your veins.
as you do so, something is knocked over.
all you hear is a soft little thud, accompanied by the sensation of something colliding with the door. a low curiosity overtakes you — eagerly peeking around for a look at the mysterious something.
your gaze falls on something pink.
it’s tiny, awfully out of place, just laying unassumingly on the dusty floorboards. as you crouch down to get a better look, you recognize it instantly; a small carton of strawberry milk. a plastic straw plastered on its side, and an evil looking cow mascot staring at you from the front. one of the items sold in the schoolyard’s vending machines — your personal favorite. you drink it every time you need a tiny pick-me-up, the sweet taste always managing to soothe your spirits.
and it was sitting right outside your door.
you stare at it, silently, in deep contemplation. holding it in your hand as the gears turn inside your head. could someone have dropped it? no, that’s dumb — who’d drop it right outside your door and then not pick it up?
… did someone leave it for you, then? because they know you like it? that could be it, maybe, but who would —
your mind stills. 
(no way.)
when you think about it — that’s the only explanation that makes sense. shoko and geto aren’t there, and you barely know any of your senior students. yaga-sensei would never give you strawberry milk without a lecture on the dangers of cavities, either.
that just leaves one possible culprit.
but you can’t wrap your head around it. why would he do something like that? he doesn’t like you — you know that much. so it couldn’t possibly be him.
… then again, you have seen him drink it. both of you like it, contrary to your other classmates; shoko doesn’t like sweet things in general, and geto wouldn’t go for strawberry milk if he could choose something else. it might as well be the only thing you and gojo have in common — the one thing that binds you two together. 
a single carton of strawberry milk. 
it’s almost comical.
(if it’s really true — if he really did do it… then you wonder why. maybe he noticed that you were feeling under the weather, and figured it’d make you happy. 
you wonder if it’d be foolish of you, to believe that it’s true — if only because you kinda like the idea.)
your feet move on their own, before your mind has a chance to question the decision. 
where could he be? in the kitchen, still? in his dorm?
just as you begin to wonder, a flash of white dances in the corners of your vision. when you glance out the window, you see it; white, soft hair, like a fluffy cloud, in the midst of all the pink petals fluttering about. 
you stop.
then you start walking again. with more decision, this time. hurrying to the exit.
gojo is sitting right outside the dormitory, on a wooden bench, legs swinging idly as he gazes at the sky. his hair sways slightly with the breeze, soft strands moving and caressing his skin. pink petals dance all around him, gracefully descending down to the ground, together with a trail of bubbles. gojo is blowing them, haphazardly, following their movement with his keen eyes. they glimmer in the sunlight, reflecting all shades of the rainbow.
the sight is just a little bit breathtaking. 
the ground crunches beneath your feet, when you take a step forward — and gojo turns towards you. you stiffen like a deer in headlights, instantly regretting your decision. blinking nervously. you walked here almost entirely on impulse, but now that you’re face to face…
(it’s a little scary.)
… still, it’s far too late to back out now. you can’t do much except join him, so that’s exactly what you do — albeit a little hesitantly.
trying to ignore his continuous stare, burning into the side of your head, you plop down beside him. feeling the steady bench beneath you, breathing in the scent of sweet-smelling cherries and soap.
an uncomfortable silence lingers in the air around you both, as he waits for you to say something. 
it’s a little tough. mustering up the courage to say anything, even just to face him. the decisiveness you felt just a moment ago has faded, now only the ghost of a sensation — you’re too nervous to verbalize anything.
but eventually, after a deep breath or two, you force yourself to speak. hoping you won’t come to regret it.
”… hey, gojo?” 
it’s almost a whisper. soft and fragile, mumbled beneath your breath as you stare at the cherry trees in front of you. you know his eyes are on you, though. you can feel them, almost feel their weight in the palm of your hand. like marbles.
weakly, you raise up the carton of strawberry milk. glancing over at him, not quite managing a smile, but trying your best to look somewhat appreciative. 
”thanks.”
a confused blink. gojo looks down the strawberry milk, and then back up at you. eyelashes fluttering.
a moment passes. 
then he turns his head away, swiftly, his hair tousled by the movement — a couple pink petals stuck between the soft strands. you can’t see his face anymore.
”i have no idea what you’re talking about,” he huffs, with a voice you’ve never heard him speak through.
when you look a little closer — you think the tips of his ears may be just slightly red. it makes your lips curl up into a small smile, but you barely feel it.
(like this, he’s actually kind of cute.)
cherry blossoms flutter in the wind, dancing joyously, without a care in the world. a spring breeze ruffles gojo’s hair, as he sits beside you, having begun to blow his bubbles again. not saying a word, and looking straight ahead. but you can’t help but stare, as sneakily as you can muster.
you find yourself thinking that he looks right at home, among the petals. fleeting, hard to get a grasp on, so pretty, and so out of reach — despite being so close. 
if you wanted to, you could reach over and touch him. you could reach for his sunglasses, lift them off his face, and finally see those eyes he’s so intent on hiding. you could see him, see straight into his soul — and find out who he really is.
you won’t, though. some boundaries aren’t meant to be so callously crossed.
instead, you puncture the pink carton in your hand with the plastic straw, and take a tentative sip. the sweet taste soothes you, straight away, blooming on your tongue. you can’t help but sigh, softly, relaxing even further — it’s absolutely perfect, for this kind of weather. the sight before you, cherry petals and shining bubbles, a boy you don’t like, but definitely don’t hate. 
you both look up, following the bubbles with your eyes, as they float up into the sky; as they get smaller and smaller, farther and farther out of reach. neither of you say a word, but the silence is comforting. light. 
gojo is the first one to break it — in a voice so small you barely hear it.
”… you don’t look like a zombie.”
a second passes. you’re left blinking in confusion, trying to decipher the sudden statement. you can’t get a good read on his expression, with those eyes of his conveniently hidden; he must have regained his composure, then.
it takes a couple seconds for his words to sink in — but once they do, all pieces seem to fall into place. 
and you burst into laughter.
gojo blinks at you, caught off guard, his eyelashes flapping like a little dove scrambling to get off the ground — staring at you like you just grew a second head. that makes you laugh harder, a bout of giggles spilling past your lips — you just can’t help it. 
”did —” you wheeze, softly, thoroughly amused. trying and failing to bite back the laughter. ”did you think i was bothered by that, or something?”
gojo looks at you. a little stunned, for a moment. the sight only makes your smile bloom further, eyes crinkled as you meet his gaze. from the angle you’re viewing him through, leaning back against the bench, you catch a glimmer of his eyes. they’re awfully pretty — blue and bright, full of life. when you look closer, you can see tiny, tiny splotches of white. 
they look like the blue sky. 
you called them menacing, before, but now you aren’t so sure. they seem soft, in the sunlight, especially when seen like this — right after catching him off guard. it’s a rare moment, terribly precious. something to savour.
gojo doesn’t let it linger, though. 
after a moment of two, he scoffs — turning away yet again. a soft, soft pout on his lips.
”obviously not,” he huffs, sounding nothing but irritated, resting his jaw on the heel of his palm. ”but with how sensitive you are, i wouldn’t be surprised.”
usually, a comment like that would irk you. now it just makes you giggle, lightheartedly — the tips of his ears turning redder at the sound. 
(he really isn’t so bad, after all.)
for a while, you don’t say anything else. afraid of ruining the tender atmosphere. you feel closer to gojo than ever before — and you wonder if maybe this is the gojo that geto sees. childish, but well meaning. arrogant and cocky, but oddly innocent. selfish — but not really. you’re starting to think that you may have been slightly off, with that one.
the strawberry milk on your tongue tastes sweet. a little sweeter than usual, though you choose not to dwell on it.
”hey,” you break the silence, surprising even yourself. the words fall from your lips like soft little breaths, rolling off your tongue like marbles pouring out of a glass bottle. ”i don’t dislike you, you know?”
it’s an impulsive admission. saying it out loud doesn’t feel wrong, though. maybe a little humiliating, sure, but not wrong. not dishonest.
you suspect that gojo may be looking at you, out of the corner of his eye, but you aren’t sure. after all, you’re vehemently avoiding his gaze — a little embarrassed by your own sincerity. 
he doesn’t know how to respond. you’re being strangely unpredictable, today, and it makes him feel unsure of himself. your tone is soft, almost friendly. he only ever hears it when you’re talking to shoko or geto.
not learning his lesson, gojo opts to tease you again. as always. afraid to let the silence linger for too long. it’s a halfhearted attempt, though, more of a vaguely amused huff than anything. 
”what, got a crush on me or somethin’?”
this time, you don’t scoff, or roll your eyes, or give him an earnest fuck right off. you only chuckle, in a way that almost borders on fond. you’re not one to tease, contrary to the boy on your left, but your words are teasing even still. ”i have better taste than that.” 
gojo should be irked, should grumble and bite back, but you don’t give him the chance to. 
”i just… you know,” you taste the words on your tongue. ”i still think you’re annoying. and childish.” gojo huffs, and your lips curl up. ”but i really don’t dislike you.”
you take a sip of the strawberry milk, before continuing, hoping it’ll make the words easier to say. ”… and it’s not like i know you, anyway. so i’m sorry for making a bunch of assumptions.” 
a pause. for a split second, you quiet down, a little flustered. gnawing on your bottom lip.
”… that’s all i wanted to say,” you exhale, gaze glued to your lap. feeling a heat on your nape.
as always, you can’t tell what gojo’s thinking. out of the corner of your eye, you try to catch a glimpse of his face, but you have a nagging suspicion that it wouldn’t tell you anything anyway. his eyes are hidden by those sunglasses, after all, acting as a wall between him and the rest of the world. so you don’t know if the words reach him, if they mean anything at all. 
but you hope they do. even as you brush cherry petals and non-existent dust off your lap, and get up to leave.
gojo just sits there, for a second, deep in contemplation. 
he tries to bury a certain thought, before it has a chance to reach his frontal cortex — before he has to accept that it exists. only this time, he doesn’t succeed. the words die before they reach his tongue, but he hears them, in his head. he hears them loud and clear.
and he flushes under the light of the sun.
(i don’t really dislike you, either.) 
what actually ends up leaving his throat is merely a scoff, so faint he doubts you even hear it. 
”whatever,” he mutters, hoping it’ll come across as cool and unbothered. it doesn’t.
one last smile reaches your face, before you head back inside. gojo stays behind, on the bench, lost in thought.
tossing the now-empty carton into a trash can, you try to calm yourself down. feeling oddly excited, as if you’ve reached something, the start of an eventual conclusion. something worth cherishing.
you still don’t understand satoru gojo. but you get the impression that you just grew a little bit closer to him. there are layers to him, more than what meets the eye, hidden behind those sunglasses of his. you can only imagine what the world might look like, from his perspective. what you look like, reflected in his eyes, a blur of colours and facial features, sparks and dots.
you wonder if the whole world looks like a painting, to him. 
you feel a little ashamed, for thinking you had him all figured out. a spoiled, self-centered rich kid, with no functional empathic abilities. it might be partially true, but you’ll have to reevaluate the statement. to see how well it holds up. you still don’t think his emotional intelligence is anything to gawk at, but you may have been underestimating it. it’s there, despite everything — in those eyes, in that single carton of strawberry milk.
you think there’s a certain maturity, there, in spite of his childishness. or perhaps the latter is no more than a product of the former, a way for damaged children to dress their wounds. the way he carries himself and the way he speaks both seem a bit forced. like he’s used to performing, used to moving in a way that demands attention. all eyes on him, at all times. 
you think that sounds just a little exhausting. 
even as you return to the safety of your dorm room, you still can’t help but wonder. there’s still so much you don’t know. despite the moment you shared, and the connection you think may be growing between you, he’s still so out of reach. almost lonely, in a way. you wonder what he looks like, when he’s alone, when there’s no one around to perform for.

and, despite everything, after all is said and done — you really, really don’t understand satoru gojo. not at all, not in the slightest. not one bit.
but you think you’d maybe like to.

I need to give such a shout out to Warframe artists for making the entire sentient ship tileset and sentient faction a bunch of the most yonic imagery I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s literally all vaginas, period blood and uteruses. Pelvises and pelvic bones of varying kinds. Every fucking door and most of the decorations literally just look like vaginal openings. I swear to god I’m not joking, look at this shit

And let’s be clear, it’s completely on purpose. The entire story of the sentients is centred around childbirth and sterility, the desire to have children and raise them, fuck even hunhow has a womb as of Jade shadows. The original eidolon wanted the unum’s light to restore its fertility. Lotus has quite possibly one of the worst cases of baby fever in the history of gaming. Literally the fucking containers on the tileset are meant to evoke the image of a pregnant sentient. The entrance to the murex is a god damn vaginal opening and it’s not even subtle. Or maybe the SPAWNING POOL OF WRITHING BLOOD THAT DEFINITELY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PERIODS WINK WINK

Sorry if the images are dogshit, I’m on my phone and can’t find/get better ones right now but seriously if you go look at the official concept art you can make an entire drinking game out of taking a shot every time you see something with vagina/uterus vibes. In fact you can actually do that with the entire art book for Warframe, it’s really funny actually, this game is the opposite of Berserk’s constant phallic imagery, this shit is yonic city fr.
Anyways, all this to say, they put a straight up vagina with a clitoris on stalker’s face and it wasn’t even subtle but most hilariously, almost definitely not intentional yet retroactively way too fitting with the rest of this game’s art aesthetic and the faction he joins.

L Lawliet x Fem!Reader Genre: awkard cute fluff with everyone's favorite detective
Description: On the ongoing mission to take Kira down, L and Y/N must sacrifice their dignity when Light (intentionally) messes up their excursion. A/N: This is pre-cuffed L and Light era btw! And f/n = fake name.

Kira is still on the loose taking innocent people lives and with no concrete evidence to the existence of the “Death Note” or “Shinigami’s” Lawliet was put into a corner. He was 98% sure that Light Yagami was Kira purely based on vibes but nothing else that serves as evidence has worked. Close surveillance in his house has been a little useful but he hasn’t cracked him just yet. Light was good. Too good.
After ruthless nights of arguing Watari thought it would be a good idea to call in reinforcements from the infamous Wammy House where L was raised. Those reinforcements were you. You’ve never been to Japan before but you were excited to help an old friend. With an IQ of 150 and cunning eye for detail you would be a great asset to the task force. Once he find out you were on your way L sent you a file with all the information he found along with a detailed list of all the task force members. You got everything you need to know but you hate that fake name he came up with.
When you got off the private jet Watari sent you, Matsuda and Light were waiting for you at the end of the stairs.
“So he sent the killer right to me. Interesting” You thought. You took a good look of Matsuda. He was a good man, socially awkward, probably a bit annoying, but a good cop. He fidgeted with his fingers the more you looked at him. Meanwhile Light didn’t seem bothered at all. He stared right back but not at you. It was like he was staring deep within your soul and if you weren’t paying attention you would have missed the tiny smile fighting to break out. He was definitely up to something but what?
Taking off your sunglasses you walked down the stairs and offered your hand out to Matsuda who held it like a fragile piece of of fine china. He raised it up and kissed it which wasn’t something you were expecting but flattered either way.
“Enchante, I’m f/n” You offered your hand to Light as well to which he firmly shook for a second and let go. You can tell a lot about a person by the way they greet you. Matsuda was ever the gentlemen who might be confused of your customs but has good intentions. Light shook your hand like a man trying to prove himself. He wanted you to think he saw you as an equal when that couldn't be farther than the dark truth that lie beneath. This case is going to be good.
“I’d like to speak to Ryuzaki alone if that’s okay. “ You asked the task force after meeting everyone officially. Watari escorted them all out leaving you and your sugar fiend friend alone. For a moment you sat in silence until it felt safe to speak.
“Lawliet”
“It’s Ryuzaki”
“I’m not calling you that.”
“Then you put me at risk f/n.” You roll your eyes at the way he refuses to use your real name. You were alone after all.
“How could I put you at risk when we both know that Kira is Light?” You put your cup of tea up to him and he puts three sugar cubes in there. At the Wammy House, every child had their thing and yours is tea which goes perfectly with cake hence the beautiful friendship you have with Lawliet now.
“So you believe me?”
“Have I ever been wrong?”
“Well-
“Other than that.” You took a sip.
“I know it’s him. I need evidence. That’s why you’re here f/n”
“Does anybody other than Watari and I know you’re real name?” He shook his head no. Perfect. A plan was brewing.
Weeks go by and you get to know everyone. Sadly the result was still the same. Light was definetly Kira but he had help. Originally you thought his father was in on it but after personally interrogating him it became clear that Soichiro Yagami did not know or even consider that his son could be a criminal nonetheless a cold blooded killer. Lights girlfriend Misa Amane on the other hand only pretended to be a bimbo everyone thought she was. If she wasn’t so head over heels over Light she might have been a great force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, the charismatic cult-like charms of Light got to her before then. She's the perfect fall person if things went south for him. There’s was another accomplice helping Light get away with his crimes but his identify has been tough to crack. You’ve searched for people under the name Ryuk and haven’t found anything so far. Looking back at the early surveillance tapes of Light in his room it did look like he was trying hard to ignore something on his mind. Could it have been someone there? Someone the camera didn’t catch? Is this the power of a shinigami?
Another day with the task force trying to find all the things in common with Kira's victims besides how they die you turn to genius next to you.
“Ryuzaki?”
“Yes f/n”
“Let’s go out” Matsuda almost choked on his spit making you burst into a laughing fit. Lawliet was not amused.
“I assume you mean all of us?” He says not even sparing you a glance as you teasingly look at him.
“Of course. What else would I mean? A day off would be nice right boys?” You look at the rest of the men who are relieved to hear that except Light. Just like Lawliet, he didn't look too amused. You smirk as you take a sip of tea.
“You did that on purpose” Lawliet mumbled
“You love it.” You whispered before turning around in your spinny wheelchair. Stretching your arms before you do a big clap that makes the whole task force except Light and Lawliet jump. You smile.
"So who wants to go on a little excursion tomorrow? I'm sure Kira wouldn't mind if we didn't hunt them for a day. "
"Until they kill someone else." Light claims
"And then I'll know it's you," Lawliet says. The two stare menacingly at each other.
"Let's not point any fingers. Light is still not 100% in the clear yet but he's also a part of the team. It could be Matsuda for all we know" Your innocent joke lightened the mood making all the men chuckle to themselves. Little did they know they were all pawns in your game.
"Yes... matter of fact Light why don't you set up an excursion for us? I'm sure you have friends that travel locally and if you're not Kira nothing will go wrong and Ryuzaki can relax. Right?" You suggest.
"And if you are I'll have the pleasure of putting you behind bars."
"Fine. If that's what it takes." Light says. The familiar tugging at his lips starts but they never go into full bloom as if he's trying to hide it. Tomorrow you're finally going to find out what his game is and who he's playing it with.
Later that night when you were alone drinking tea while Lawliet ate cake the two of you discussed all the possible mistakes Light could make to prove he's Kira to everyone. Killing someone would be too obvious but he could make it look like an accident or even frame another person on the task force so that was possibility number one. Possibility number two is he finds a way to get Misa alone to do his bidding. That would be the easiest thing to do to get him out of the clear for everyone else but not the two of you since you know she's his accomplice. To prevent that from happening, you'll have Matsuda or Soichiro keep a close eye on her the entire excursion. There was another possibility that you didn't bring up on purpose. This was because if Lawliet knew he would be totally against it seeing as it would put him at risk but you realized the unusual pattern of all Kira's victims a long time ago. They all die of a heart attack, most have some kind a criminal record of some kind or they know Kira true identity before they die. Most importantly Kira's victims full name are always on public record except the one he wants to kill the most which sparked an idea. What if you gave Light L's real name? Would he try to use it? Most importantly would it work? Along with Mello and Near you were raised with Lawliet but there is the possibility that even the name you became fond of calling him wasn’t real. Deep inside you know he wouldn’t lie to you. He can’t.
The next day Light had arranged a day in Kamakura full of fun outside excursions everyone on the task force except Lawliet appreciated. To annoy him even more the disguise you chose to display was his wife. You knew if this plan was gonna work he couldn’t look like Lights stalker the way he focuses in on him and you two work better as a team so splitting up wasn’t an option. In case Light isn’t Kira (which is highly unlikely) and Kira manages to strike while you’re out Watari is at home monitoring local crime. Keeping a close eye on Light’s reactions you wrap your arm around Lawliet giving him a supportive pat. Light face remain stoic.
“See? Kira wouldn’t kill us in the middle of a crowded area like this. “ Matsuda happily claims as he holds up his oversized binoculars to look at The Great Buddha.
“In a crowd like this no one would notice anyway.” Lawliet mumbles.
“Oh don’t be such a hermit! You loved playing outside with me when we were children.” You say trying to gauge the boys but to your surprise the only one who asked was-
“Ryuzaki and f/n grew up together?!” Misa acts surprised. Oh to peak into her little mind.
“I was studying human interaction”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night dear” You kiss his cheek before dragging him by hand along and joining Matsuda ahead as he excitedly leads the pack.
“Is it me or is f/n enjoying her role a little too much?” Kanzo whispers to Soichiro who shrugs.
“We’ve been working hard the past few weeks. I’m sure she’s just having a little fun besides I don’t think it’s exactly one-sided.” Soichiro chuckles
Throughout the day the seven of you walk around every shrine, zen garden, and temple you can get close to while remaining a safe distance from Light and Misa who didn’t seem to be plotting anything just yet. Just two teenagers who might be serial killers without a care in the world. Lawliet grew frustrated.
“F/N”
“Yes, dear?” You tease but can’t help it when his cheeks turn a rosy red for a second.
“When exactly is this plan of yours supposed to start?”
“Patience honey all will make sense soon” You whisper seductively in Lawliets ear pulling him in to your embrace wrapping your arms around his neck. Begrudgingly knowing his role Lawliet wraps his arms around your waist in reciprocation. You notice Light staring at the two of you. From where he’s standing it looks as if you two are sharing secrets. He tries to hide his look of suspicion when you make eye contact but it’s too late. Like a spider you’ve spun him in your web making him helplessly anxious and maybe even frightened. Unable to contain it you smirk at him
“That’s right. You should be afraid” You whisper still in Lawliet’s embrace. For the first time all day he chuckles.
“If I didn’t know any better you’re turned on right now y/n” He whispers in your ear just as seductively as you did earlier. Given how awkward and standoffish he can be at times you didn’t know he was capable of that.
“Lawli- Ryuzaki!” You shriek but for a moment his hands squeeze your body. You almost said his real name out loud. Too loud. Did Light hear it? Shit
“Careful dear people will think you’re cheating on me” He says jokingly but you know it’s a threat. No, a promise. While you planned to leak it anyway to see if Light would try to kill him this is not how you wanted to come out. Shit shit shit.
And yet if you weren’t turned on before. You are now. Something about him matching your energy while being so close just did something to you and even though he’s a little pissed off he’s still hot.
“I’m gonna get you back for that”
“Likewise f/n” further emphasizing how pissed he is.
After walking for the majority of Lights excursion filled day in Kamakura the task force grew exhausted. Too tired to do anything else Light and Matsuda called around for places to retire for the night before returning to work tomorrow. Soichiro drove the rental to a spot near a beach, real low key vibes, perfect place for a late night swim with Lawliet. He’d never go for it. The seven of you were to be split rooms. Naturally you and Misa were in one room. Soichiro, Kanzo, Matsuda, and Light in the next room. Lawliet gets his own room so he can have a private discussion with Watari. This was the plan everyone agreed to until you got there.
“I’m sorry we only have one room left but if you five gentlemen don’t mind the hotel a little further down I can reserve a room for you” the hotel receptionist says. Looks like you and Misa are stuck here alone-
“I’ll stay with you” Lawliet stepped up.
“But who will watch Ligh-“ He cut you off
“I said I’m staying”
“Besides I think we can trust Light now,“ Shock was what you saw on Light's face now. If only for a moment but there was shock. Whatever plan there was to kill Lawliet might be dead now but then again this could've been a part of his plan all along.
When the two of you walked into the hotel there was one bed. As children sleeping together was better than being in cold bunks but as adults this predicament was a bit...awkward.
He let you shower and change into your pajamas first but as you wait in bed going over all your notes on Kira a nervous feeling stirs inside you. What if he mentions what happened earlier? What if he doesn't because he has other plans of ruining your life for almost ending his? Is he about to get in this bed with you?
"I hope you're not overthinking what happened earlier." He broke you out of your funk. You didn't even realize he had already gotten out of the shower. "I already gave Light my real name once. It won't work Y/N"
"Then why-"
"I figured if you were going to put my life in danger I'd scare you a little too. Reminds me of when we were kids." He laid down next to you in bed. For years there's been an invisible line between you that you so desperately wanted to cross.
A line you want to cross now more than anything.
"Can I ask you something?" You turn your body towards him but he remains on his back, facing the ceiling.
"Shoot"
"Do you remember when we were teenagers Mello locked us in a closet and I kissed you on accident but you wouldn't let me go until Watari let us out?"
"Yes"
"This feels a lot like that" He smiles as his body curls towards you.
"Are you saying you want to kiss me Y/N?" You scooted closer to him smirking.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" You leaned over him practically inches away from his lips yet he didn't flinch. He didn't move away but he didn't move any closer. He was just there. So you sighed and leaned ba-
"Please" He grabbed you by the shirt and pulled you back to him. He had a look in his eyes you've never seen before.
" In case I die"
"Wha-" He met your lips with his before you could ruin it. The two of you were alone. Truly alone for the first time in years and this time if it were his last Lawliet was going to get what he wanted almost as bad as he wanted Light behind bars. You.
You leaned down into his embrace not letting a breath escape between your lips. If you were going to die tonight it would not be Kira and you were okay with that.
The next day on the ride home neither of you spoke a peep making it seem like you'd gotten into a fight. Nobody really needed to know what really took place. When everyone went home for the day you were at it again neglecting the surveillance cameras and carefully watching Light. If this is how he gets you both so be it.
May the kiss of death satisfy the Gods that be.

Rating the Holy Quintet’s new designs + Other stuff
So we got a poster that shows the holy quintet’s new designs mostly in full. Yippiee! Also please keep in mind that these are just my opinions. I’d love to hear what other people think even if it doesn’t match my opinion! Like what you like and dislike what you dislike

Madoka: It’s very magical girl! It keeps a lot of components from Madoka’s original design, it simply looks like a more upgraded version of her original attire which I think is very fitting since Madoka is Homura’s priority. If she’s the one who made Madoka a magical girl in this world, she could be giving her a more idealistic experience with her in the center.
The only things I don’t like are the buttons and the bow that seems to be connected to her soul gem but in a way it also works. Homura is practical and so it makes sense to me that in Homura’s world, things would be more practical such the clothing having buttons and the soul gem being connected to the clothing rather than just on the skin. I love the symbolism of the lock and I do believe that her hair bows having a longer tail could represent her long hair in her goddess form.
I personally think it’s too busy but it’s very cute and very Madoka. I’d give it an 8/10
Also just talking about how she looks. Her face in the poster isn’t angry but it’s determined. Instead of taking Homura’s hand she’s pointing at her. I don’t think this means Madoka dislikes Homura and is now completely against her, but I’d say she’s condemning her actions.

Homura: The original Holy Quintet designs were almost perfectly symmetrical so seeing them be asymmetrical now does bother me, even if it is intentional 😅. One shoe having a bow on the back and the other not having one does annoy me more than I wish to admit. (So does the red ribbing only being one leg but not as much)
I love Homura’s sleeves and the detail on the back of the dress. The chunky heels also look good on her and do remind me of her original magical girl attire. I miss the socks she had in her original devil form.
I always thought her original devil form had some good components but could have looked better and I feel the same way about her new one. But I can appreciate it for what it is. 6/10
Also I do wanna say that I think the designs being asymmetrical is intentional given the imagery we have seen in Rebellion and the new trailers, mainly the half moon. Honestly, I never knew how much I loved symmetry until now lol.

Kyoko: Her design isn’t too different. In my analysis of the first trailer, my theory for this is that the girls’ outfits are based off of how Homura sees them because it appears that she’s the one making them into magical girls. Kyoko has always been the more reliable one to Homura and who she seems to work with best besides Madoka in some cases. So to me it makes sense that Kyoko’s outfit wouldn’t change if Homura seeks Kyoko for who she is.
I don’t like the slit on the chest but I think its purpose is to draw your eye to her soul gem which it does a good job of. The puffy sleeves are cute and add a fairytale element to Kyoko’s costume, slightly pulling it away from the original design being similar to a priest’s attire.
I love the braids in her hair that go into her ponytail. It’s a cute little addition along with the red stripe on her skirt. It’s small but it also changes the vibe for me. It makes me wonder if she’s going to be less spunky and more sporty in terms of her energetic-ness. Overall: 7.5/10

Mami: I really want to like her design more than I do 😅 She doesn’t have any ribbons in her new form so they had to change the way her shirt and corset look.
I like the top with the over shirt and undershirt. I personally think it looks cute. I’m not a big fan of the new corset though. It’s loose but stiff which makes it look clunky compared to how flowy her outfit is. Mami’s original corset being tighter accented the silhouette created by her shirt and skirt and added a fullness to her skirt.
It looks like she’s wearing high brown boots over her socks and I don’t like how they look just by the color. My biggest problem with Mami’s new outfit is that there are too many different shades of yellow and brown that feel like they’re all competing against each other. The amount of different colors is weird to look at when the original usually followed a pattern of having a main color, one or two accent colors, and then white. Her new outfit kind of follows those guidelines.
I’m glad they kept the way her gloves are, I like those. 4.5/10

Sayaka: Sayaka is my favorite character and I really wanted to like her design but some parts of it do throw me off. 😭
I’ll start with what I like: The bandage around her face looking like it forms the bow on her head is hella cool. I also believe that the sleeves and the gloves are supposed to be similar to a nurse’s scrubs but I could be wrong. Something that I think is interesting is that her stomach is less exposed and only shows a peek of her soulgem. Her belt and skirt are no longer slanted at an angle which I think could represent taking on a more responsible look and presence in the group. Or maybe I’m reading too much into it.
I also think the diamonds on her chest plate and as buttons do look cool and could make her tied to Homura in someway since diamonds are a motif on Homura’s costume. 👀
Back at it again with the symmetry, I don’t like how she has a knee high sock on one leg and a bandage on the other. I think it fits the look for Sayaka being somewhat indisposed by Homura but I personally don’t like it. Her cape looks like it’s split into three sections which isn’t bad and can create a cool silhouette but it also looks a little strange to me. A similar problem I had with Mami, the different shades of blue. The blue of her arm sleeves and her gloves don’t compliment each other very much. 6.5/10

Nagisa: I think her design is just okay. It has a lot of cute components but it also feels really bare to me. It’s fancy compared to regular attire but too plain for magical girl attire. I personally don’t like how much of her midsection is shown, it kinda reminds me of winter clothing that isn’t meant for winter at all.
I like how her leggings and boots look, it’s a cute pair and the color of her skirt and shawl compliment the brown really well. The gloves are cute but I’m not a fan of the two puff ball tails it looks like are attached to her skirt. They’re just kind of there. I do like this design a little bit better than her original design. 4/10

Green girl: I’m a big fan of her hair color and style + The contrast it has to the dark green of her outfit. I love her gloves and the yellow ribbons on it. I also like her outerwear but I’m not too sure about the color of her inner shirt. It makes it look like a sweater which would add a clunky look to the layers. I like the look of the skirt and the socks too.
The form of the skirt does get me though. I think having it be a bubble skirt is cute but it looks too bulbous. It’d probably be easy to move around in but also a pain to fight in because it probably bumps into a lot of things. I’d want to see her design more clearly and close up so I’m just going to give it a 5/10 for now.

Patchwork Girl: I’m calling her this because of the sewing needles in her hair, red stitches holding her cloak shut, her skirt having a quilt-like pattern, and the string holders around her ankles.
Honestly her design looks like it would fit Magia Record more than the original series but I still like her design. Her cloak and her skirt have multiple colors but these colors are used more than once in both garments creating a reoccurring theme. The brown shirt or corset underneath her cloak is a nice neutral color along with her stockings. There’s a nice mix of bright and toned down colors so your eyes aren’t too overwhelmed. The red bow and stitches is an interesting choice and I do think there’s other colors that could have worked but the red works too. I’m not a big fan of the thread holders around her ankles.
I think her purple eyes do look a little out of place and could have been a mauve or dark pink color but it doesn’t ruin the look for me. I do think that the large sewing needles hanging off her pigtails are a bit excessive though. Maybe if they were smaller or they could have been replaced with the pincushion as a tiny hat. 7/10
Final thoughts + Mini theory: I’m excited for the next movie! Some of the main five’s designs are a little disappointing to me but I still think there’s a lot of love and creativity in each design so I’m still happy! Seeing the two new girls’ designs is neat too.
At the end of the new trailer we get this scene of Mami eating some sort of treat

It immediately felt very strange to me because it’s not very Mami for her to take a big cutesy bite like this. She’s still a teenager and certainly acts like one but she also acts very proper.
One theory I talked about in another post was that the reason why she doesn’t have ribbons in her new magical form could be that her wish is no longer to be “connected to life” which could mean that her parents are still alive and that her wish is something else. Another reinforcement for that theory is the gif above. If Mami’s parents were still alive there’s a chance she wasn’t rushed to grow up and is having more goofy moments as shown. Because her past was different, Mami could have a whole different demeanor.
But hey, that’s just a theory.

Why were we so deceived by Nick and June’s story?

I’m still trying to find a logical explanation for what happened. Why were Nick and June’s scenes filmed so epically — what was the point of it all, if in the end she just hated him and let him die without any powerful tragedy? And yesterday I suddenly remembered the whole improvisation thing — Elizabeth Moss often changed scenes. For example, she changed the ending of 6.03 just “for fun,” suggesting to say “see you later” — which wasn’t in the script at all. She just wanted to make it “original.” And in 4.03, she wanted something “epic,” so she shot it with a spinning camera because it looked cool

But here’s the thing: what if she just got carried away?And maybe it wasn’t just her — maybe the whole team did. They let her direct episodes, and she turned them not into a part of a larger, thought-out story, but into little standalone films. She wanted to try all the “cool stuff”: camera tricks, stylistic experiments and of course, show Max from every possible angle. Because she adored him and was fangirling hard.

“Oh, what a beautiful neck he has. Oh, how amazing he kisses. Fans will scream if I shoot it this way. We’ll make history.”
It’s like from the very start, everyone was obsessed with their chemistry and decided to milk it as much as possible, not within the logic of the narrative or where it was heading, but just because it was cool. Damn, look how he kisses. Damn, look how fans react. Let’s do more of that.
And nobody cared whether it actually fit the story.
No one seemed to think that these moments — they’re communication with the viewer. That there’s such a thing as visual language. Editing logic. Symbolic continuity. You can’t just throw in a random scene because you feel like it. That’s not how storytelling works.
Meanwhile, Max was the only one who seemed to just do the job. He followed direction. He gave it his all. He respected Lizzie, he respected the project. You could feel that he genuinely cared where the story would go. But everyone else? They were off in their own world, high on their own emotions, loving what they were creating — but not giving a damn about the actual arc.
And someone should’ve been in charge of that. That’s the real issue.
Because here’s the real problem: the lack of leadership. In any creative project, there has to be someone who holds the whole arc in their head. Someone who can say “no” when a scene is pretty but breaks the story. Someone who knows how to connect emotional moments into a coherent whole. Someone who makes sure improvisation serves the story — not destroys it.
But here? There was no one like that. Everyone was doing their own thing. Someone vibed with the camera. Someone vibed with the actors. Someone vibed with their own importance.
And in the end, we got a mess. A hot pile of garbage — with some moments of absolute brilliance.
That’s why nothing adds up.
And the most ironic part? Now Lizzie’s mad at us. They worked so hard! And we “just didn’t get it.” We “just liked Max too much” (yeah, like she did once, let’s be honest).
But what she still doesn’t understand is that a series is not a collection of pretty scenes. A great show is cohesive. It has meaning. Direction. Intent.
Beautiful scenes are supposed to build toward something — not replace it. The story is supposed to go somewhere.
But instead, they filmed their little “highs,” their fun, their fantasies… And then acted surprised when we didn’t clap.

Writing Advice 7-Don't fill in the blanks
Ever watch a horror movie and get down to the end and then BAM the monster is on screen for the first time and now we’re all feeling let down? Well this is an elementary writing error that artsy people like to forget because they make story telling about their vision, not the collective experience. Don’t show the monster. This is something I learned in a high school English class. We read the Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allen Poe and, spoiler alert for a story that is over 100 years old, we never find out what was in the pit. We are told that it is horrible, the most horrible thing we can think of, and we are left with that. Now my teacher went around and had us write down what we thought was in the pit, quietly and without collaboration, and we passed our guesses to him and he went and read through them aloud. One person thought it was a pit of snakes. Someone else thought it was a pit of lava. The guy who freaked the teacher out the most thought it was a rotating cheese grater. So the point? We all wrote down the thing that scared us the most. Poe’s story was fuelled by our imagination and our fears and that is where he really reached the audience. He let us build the setting and never said we were wrong, allowing the entire audience to take the journey. So when you set up a hidden monster in a horror movie and you show it, you are popping that bubble. I know what a monster that scares me would look like and it doesn’t look like that, so I’m not scared anymore and I am a little bummed by that. Now, this ALSO applies to other situations in stories. The monster is just the easiest one because if you are a horror fan you’ve had it happen. Another place you see where this is super common is character descriptions. Fanfiction this is a little less of a big deal because a lot of times you are borrowing characters that are already defined, but this is important for original characters. You don’t need to describe them. That isn’t saying you always shouldn’t, far from it, but it really depends on the why. You can use character descriptions to tell you more about the environment they are from, the culture they are from, the class and position they hold, etc. I like to be blunt about certain aspects of character description when I am explicitly representing a minority so people can’t whitewash my story or make everyone heteronormative.  But this is where it gets interesting. You can skimp on details. Let’s look at our good boy Tolkien and what we know about Legolas. Yes yes, he has long blond hair and blue eyes and pointy ears because that’s what Peter Jackson put in the movie so that must be true. Wrong. Tolkien gives us next to no physical details on Legolas. We know he’s an elf and that’s it. We don’t even know if elves have pointy ears. Tolkien never says. Without Jackson getting in there and mucking about everyone would have had a very individual and specific image as to what an elf, especially what Legolas specifically, looked like. We do have characterization. Legolas is silly and a little sassy, so it isn’t like we don’t know him. He’s not a mystery. We just don’t know what he looks like. And that is very intentional. It makes the character way more relatable and interesting. If I have an image of what Elf means to me I am going to slap it on Legolas so fast. Maybe I think he should have brown hair because he grew up amongst the forest elves and maybe it should be short so it doesn’t snag on trees (I am not getting into LOTR vs ROP lore lol). Maybe I like the character and have a bit of a crush on Legolas, so I insert my crush into this Legolas shaped hole in the story. Not saying Tolkien never described his characters but he refrained enough to really bring the audience along on the journey. When he did get specific he was doing so with the intention of creating a vibe or letting everyone else know his wife was the most beautiful person to have ever existed. 
So if you really want to have your audience create the world with you, give them hints, not descriptions. Sure, maybe she’s in rumpled clothes with frizzy hair. You don’t need to tell us hair color, or whether or not it is curly or just bushy. Maybe she is the most beautiful person in all the land, with her skin that positively glowed and her hair styled carefully. If you start getting into facial features you start describing what you think is beautiful or what the land thinks is beautiful, which is definitely going to be different than some readers. There is a tumblr post floating around how if snow white had red lips and pale skin and dark black hair she’d look like a vampire, despite that always being the way she’s described.
I think the best philosophical understanding of this is the taoist concept of the uncarved block. When you have a sculpting block that is untouched it has the possibility of being anything, but the moment you start cutting into it you start limiting what it could be. Descriptions are like that.
Of course you can’t abandon them completely. They are still important. I definitely need to know if your character has fangs that everyone can see. And there are going to be characters that as an author need to be described in full detail because that is so much of who they are. But skimping is not only fine but, when done deliberately, can really improve the relationship between the audience and the story. You just need to know that the mechanic exists and whether or not you want to lean into it.
So, this might be as clear as mud but I hoped I got the gist communicated.

One thing I thought was really cool about SV was all the light-horror vibes it had:
There's the descent into the forbidden Area Zero, an otherworldly place that Arven and your Raidon have a lot of trauma towards, coming across that destroyed lab and that weird, creepy moment with the Professor glitching out, finding out the original Professor was dead all along (And poor Arven will never know where his parent was buried), and the moment where the Paradise Protection Protocol tries to render you and your friends helpless before siccing the feral Raidon, the same Pokemon that killed his parent, on all of you. If you hadn't had the Professor's Raidon, we probably would have died down there and no one would have any idea what happened to us. (Including the professor's own son!)
Kieran's breakdown in the Teal Mask. I legit was getting low-key Higurashi vibes from it. (I think it's a mix of the rural Japanese town setting and some minor details like his pupils going to slits when he's upset, the tendency to scratch at himself, and where he's screaming at Carmine and the player calling them liars when he's confronted about having stole Ogerpon's mask.) I feel they scaled back with him a bit in the Indigo Disk, but man, before we see glimpses of him kinda becoming his old self again by the time we get down to Area Zero, I was worried how the situation with him would escalate. (Not helping was, at least before the Indigo Disk came out and it was revealed Pecharunt was a Mythical, I was big into the theory he was under Pecharunt's influence in a similar way to how Lusamine was under Nihilego's 😂)
Then Mochi Mayhem is basically a zombie movie without anybody actually being dead. There's the talk of some curse, you and Kieran end up being the only ones to remain unaffected, and are later pursued by the entire town and Kieran's only barely able to hold all of them off.
It was a nice progression from the horror vibes Legends Arceus had with you getting isekai'd and that whole fear of suddenly being alone being in an unknown place and not knowing anybody, plus them really leaning into that Pokemon can and will kill you, and later the banishing into certain doom with no one who will help you (at first) because they're afraid of Kamado starting a war, and your apparent best friend, the only one who initially was there for you, having been manipulating you the whole time with the intent to kill you (and pretty much everybody else) once you outlived your usefulness to him. Volo's betrayal was such a vicious gutpunch.
Makes me really excited to see if they keep up the light-horror vibes for ZA for sure 😁

What if Class of 09 Flipside was made by a Woman?
I liked Class of 09. I liked it's snappy dialogue, I liked it's social commentary of high school and women's experiences with creepy men and adulthood, I liked how it gave such a compelling main character where you know she's awful yet acknowledge that she has her reasons without justification. I like Class of 09, both the original and re-up. What I don't like though, is Class of 09: The Flipside.
Setting my personal disgust with the feet routes and the 'Palestinian slave trade' comment aside, the writing in Flipside just is completely different from the last 2. Instead of focusing on the biting social commentary of the woman experience, it instead prioritizes shock value with only some form of substance (e.g, jecka seeing nicole's suicide, jeffrey's death, the ending messages apart from the creator) And you know what else sucks? We never actually got to explore Jecka properly of who she is as a character, her relationships with her family, friends, former friends...Sure, we get doses of her life like her dad which does do what the game promised: Change how we saw the Class of 09 story before. We now understand why Jecka was terrified of the cop's yelling, not only because an powerful authority abusing his power but also experienced it before. See, this was the stuff I expected from Flipside. This was what the game should've prioritised in. Instead, it seemed like the creator would rather showcase his fetishes and spite people that don't like him or the game. From that there on, I keep thinking to myself: 'you know, this game would've been better had a woman wrote this.' But can they?
I'm a woman experienced high school before, even tried to fit the class of 09 writing style on my characters in my own personal time. Given how a lot of class of 09 fans are disappointed with the new game and I want to get into writing publically, I figure that I be the one to rewrite Class of 09 The Flipside in hopes of re-capturing the essence of the first two games alongside the game's intentions itself. Even though it's still in development, I've already outlined the routes/endings so far for you all to get a peek:
Route 1/Ending 1 - Invasion of MySpace: The foot route will be replaced by Jecka taking and making videos/pictures in order to make money after being fired from her job. Think of it like a late 2000s or early 2010s version of OnlyFans. This would help remain the social commentaries of men’s creepy behaviour to women alongside how their safety is affected. There’ll be an option of whether to go to the creepy man’s house or go home. If she goes home, she finds Nicole giving her dad a handjob with a dead expression. It ends with Jecka killing herself and implies that Nicole followed her too (not half naked though, just in regular clothes cuz I'm not a freak unlike someone)
Ending 2 - MurderSpace: If Jecka chose to go to the creepy man’s home, she gets murdered and placed like a doll in the man’s basement. 
Route 2/Ending 6 - Breaking the Wounded Heart: Jecka finds herself to work with Karen and Ari at Dominos. Overtime, they start to form a bond and Jecka herself starts to mature and finds Nicole to be unbearable. Jecka finally breaks off her friendship with Nicole and cuts forward to the future where Jecka currently lives a peaceful yet boring life, reflecting on the past with Nicole, wondering if she’s really better off without Nicole because while she’s now in a stable life without the chaos, it's the chaos that entertained her: Nicole entertained her. And now it’s all gone. But in the end, it suggests that things are much better with Nicole gone as it cuts to a phone beeping and Jecka looking down at it with a smile while Ari is by her side. Yes, this is the route where Jeckari is canon. I know this sounds too sweet for Class of 09 but I want it to still match the vibe with it being less shocking but more real in a way. Something too realistically depressing but still mundane. This is what I planned to be the saddest but best outcome of the game. The most real I should say. 
Ending 5 - Was it all worth it?: If Jecka chooses Nicole over her new friends, it ends with her and Nicole being homeless smoking drugs in an abandoned forest with Jecka reflecting on whether or not she made a good choice with Nicole before commenting on needing a Xanax to distract her from the regret and pain. 
Route 3/Ending 3 - Fuck Men!: Jecka gets into a relationship with a presumably kind-hearted gentleman. Nicole tries to warn her but Jecka won’t listen. She then is coerced by the man into doing sexual favours for his economic gain, making her become a sex trafficked victim.
Route 4/Ending 4 - Drunk Drive Delivery: Same route where Ari dies but instead the ending changed to Jecka being arrested for 6 months where the ending monologue would showcase her conflicted in anger and regret. Plus, it plays more to the idea of Jecka ‘dying at 21’ logic with being forced to work: adult party culture: that kind of thing. 
I'd be happy to hear any feedback or/and ideas for this rewrite.

I feel like the reader in best friend!Felix is actually really smart, heck, let's say genius even, but is really oblivious when it comes to sentiment. The reader gives off nerd vibes, but they're so smart to the point it's a cool kinda thing. And if this was before Felix met Oliver, I feel like reader, like Farleigh, would get bad vibes from Ollie too but would be too shy? I guess, to say anything cause hey, they're new and stuff. I like the fic:) It's nice to read something like that, without the explicit content, I mean:D

fun fact: i originally pictured bestfriend!reader as a literal genius with -3 street smarts, it's just info that didn't make it into the fic!!
also i could see reader as being so smart they skipped a grade (if we want to add to the power/social imbalance by making reader a little younger, but not like weirdly younger) open to thoughts on this !
i picture bestfriend!reader as having an elle woods quality to their intelligence in terms of awareness (and maybe aesthetic, it is the early 2000's lol),, reiterating the most complicated parts of a lecture perfectly during a study session while half focused on applying lip gloss, aces exams while hungover (bc felix insisted on going out), and never registers how impressive all of it is
very much "what? like it's hard" but as literal as that statement could be
which could add to reader's shyness/uncertainty bc she forgets she's a little intimidating
okay but the potential of reader getting bad vibes from oliver if she became close friends with felix a little after oliver did?? too good
reader doesn't want to alienate oliver, he's the only one around felix that's also an outsider, that should make it easier to bond
but!! because reader is that smart, she has this gut feeling that tells her to keep him at arm's length,, but bc she's not the best at picking up on feelings, it's basically just that 6th sense thing that girls have that tells them when a guy has weird/unsafe intentions
bc reader can't articulate their concern, or understand it, they try to be nice, but oliver can tell that there's this distrust there
it drives him crazy
first of all, reader should be the easiest one to win over bc she's not one of the elites and she's a little awkward from time to time, it's frustrating that there doesn't seem to be a crux for him to use to weasel his way into reader's heart
oliver's aware that he can get close to felix without the others liking him as long as they tolerate him enough in public, but with reader, oliver knows more about felix's real feelings for them than felix does
that adds this timing element to the situation that’s stressful, because as soon as felix realizes how he feels about the reader, that will be that
meanwhile, reader is a little worried about being dropped bc of the tension between her and oliver, but oliver doesn’t fully notice that, he’s too distracted by his feelings
it's not fair, oliver "had" felix first, but oliver's perfectly capable of adapting to the situation, so he accepts it and looks at it practically
oliver knows that there is no fully "in" with felix unless you like him, so despite any resentment and jealousy he feels towards you, he decides that he'll do whatever it takes to get it
