my brain : A Zora's severed head (for example floating in the water) bears a very close resemblance with literal fish. The difference isn't noticeable from afar. Now, imagine a guard (like Gaddison for example, or Bazz) doing their morning watch and -ooooh, would you look at that, that's a fucking good catch just below the bridge !!! Wrong. No. Upon closer inspection, it is, in fact, not a big fish at all

lifeguard!ghost is shirtless at the pool. my personal headcanon is that he overheats easily and wearing a shirt would be a sensory nightmare for him. he’s almost comically big for the lifeguard chair and can never quite sit properly- one foot propped up on the armrest, manspreading to the extreme. the red swim trunks are tight around those tree trunk thighs. he does wear underwear under the trunks to avoid chafing and for monster dick purposes. he’s maskless at the pool (again with the overheating) but in the dining hall or out on camp, he wears a black gaiter made with cooling fabric over the bottom half of his face. off the chair, he wears athletic shorts and loose t shirts. sometimes they have a gimmicky phrase or a dad joke, other times they’re just a plain color. he does in fact tan (an impeccable bronze) and though he’s missing canon scars, he’s covered in moles, stretch marks, acne scars, scars from his father and a thick layer of golden hair on his chest. he has nipple piercings- two silver bars. the sleeve is still dark and moody because of course- a byproduct of his punk anarchist tendencies from sixth form & his first year of university. he still wears dog tags. shaves his face and nothing else.

lifeguard!butch!gaz is wearing a sports bra and swim trunks on the stand (she does not wear underwear). both red, both designed for function over fashion. she also manspreads on the chair, big sunglasses over her eyes as she observes critically. she wears her hair in short twists, and when she’s on the stand, she wraps it up in multicolored scarves. wash day is a pain in the ass in the camp showers, but she’s used to it. off the stand, she’s mostly wearing basketball or cargo shorts and boxy t shirts or muscle tees. the shirts are old concert tees from her moms and sisters. on cold mornings, she wears an oversized flannel on top of her shirt. the stack of faded friendship bracelets on her wrist never comes off- especially not the ones her dove gave her. a heart-shaped purple carabiner hangs from her backpack straps, the perfect place to hook her blue owala covered in stickers. she burns fairly easily when she’s not reapplying sunscreen, especially on her stomach and shoulders. she’s got a nose ring and a few tattoos- an anchor, an old school bird, a full-color hammerhead shark, a bunny. all in places hidden away from prying eyes. she takes the rest of her piercings out for the summer. she doesn’t shave, letting it all grow. (not pictured: sodapop in bi panic mode seeing ghost and gaz both man spreading on the stand)

STEAM specialist!butch!soap mostly exists in loose, baggy pants or boys’ basketball shorts and simple, athletic tank tops. he loves to flex and show off the beginnings of muscles, developed at camp. she’s also got a stack of quickly accumulated friendship bracelets. his shaggy, tangled wolf cut has an undercut, and she never has a hair tie. his carabiner is simple, classic- green like her backpack and bedding. she burns, turning tomato-red without consistenly reapplying sunscreen. he’s scared of needles and only has one tattoo. it’s on her right thigh, a tiny double venus easily hidden. when the kids ask what it means, he can smile vaguely and go back to staring at her coworker. when he gets to swim, she’s wearing an oversized t shirt over an athletic one-piece or wearing something similar to gaz. he hasn’t touched a razor in 7 years and ignores stares from people. sometimes she puts on goggles during experiments- not because they’re needed for baking soda volcanoes, but to make kids laugh & turn into a “serious scientist” for the day.

ranger john price dresses like my dad. he mostly wear jeans and plain t shirts, cargo pants and shorts making their way into his rotation fairly often. he’s partial to a flannel shirt- during the spring and fall, he’ll wear one unbuttoned enough to let the thick brown fur on his chest peek out. tattoos from his time in the military decorate his arms, chest, and legs. a bucket/boonie hat sits on his head when he’s working. his skin is leathery and tanned from these last few years working in the sun. he’s, of course, got the beard and mustache still, smelling like musk and trees. the happy trail is visible when he’s chopping wood and the bottom of his shirts ride up.

Boy!Fontaine's name also gave me trouble to be honest, I almost considered going with something Greek like Ant's but I decided to keep the French roots - it's still not set in stone though, now that I think about it I could have gone with something Japanese instead as a nod to Kaiko's heritage.

Girl!Alpheus and her hair was totally a Guardians thing, yeah. I think she'd have some good memories with Tethys helping her with her hair, because Tethys is the only woman in the Guardians we've seen and I think they'd be a little closer than canon Alpheus was. I mentioned Proteus specifically because given how long Alpheus kept working with him in canon, I think Girl!Alpheus would still keep her hair long for a while after leaving the Guardians, to keep up the image of a Lemurian princess, and then cut it all off after The Gates in a near Azula-level breakdown.

#ugh thinking about genderbent Ant with Proteus makes their dynamic a hundred times creepier#old old man chasing after a thirteen year old girl. YIKES

It IS super super creepy, and girl!Ant is glad she has family to back her up and protect her from him. On the other hand, girl!Alpheus was a similar age when the Guardians took her in, and Proteus was still their trusted leader at that point. I think Proteus would have been getting into Alpheus' head about what the other members thought of her, encouraging her worst behaviours, and then talking to the rest of the Guardians about how reckless and unstable she's been, to drive a wedge in the relationship from both sides (That's also kind of how I think it happened in canon tbh). I also think Nereus might have had a slight internal bias that Proteus could have taken advantage of, too, because even if his head was mixed up part of him remembered that it was a Benthos who ruined Lemuria.

Back to Girl!Ant though, she's very tomboyish but not in an allergic-to-pink way, she idolises her mother too much for that. She and Kaiko bond over mechanics and comics, and while she keeps her hair short these days because long hair is too much effort to care for, she did try to keep it long and wear it like Kaiko does for a while. Girl!Ant finds the lack of kaiju stuff aimed at girls annoying and starts customising t-shirts by painting bows on the monsters, even though she's not the biggest fan of frilly things, just to make a point of it. She's also still crushing on Boy!Fontaine's friend Jess, who's staying a girl, it just takes her a while to figure that out because of heteronormativity. Boy!Fontaine is kind of annoyed about that, because in his eyes Ant is already closer to their parents than he is and doesn't get to steal one of the few friends he has who he actually gets to see relatively often.

I have names for the genderbend AU I was thinking of a while ago now

Fontaine = Fabien, reasoning is that it's a French name that begins with F (I would have gone for something related to water but I couldn't find one that wasn't just Fontaine but slightly altered)

Antaeus 'Ant' = Amphithoe 'Amy', named for one of the Nereids known as 'she who moves swiftly' and 'the shouter', perfect for a loud bouncy kid

Finn = Fionnuala 'Finn', I thought it'd be funny if girl!Finn had a masculine nickname like her mother

Madeline = Maximilian, I wanted a name that was sort of old fashioned and grand, the fact that boy!Maddy is now Mad Max was a coincidence.

Alpheus = Arethusa, a name I ended up passing over while trying to figure out a name for his mother.

So, Hellish Syringeon lives up to the forms namesake in every sense of the word. The guy is pretty much just as dangerous as Dadadoo's hellish form, and Syringeon's whole being becomes a weapon, his eight arms having deadly claws coated in tetrodotoxin, and his head and tail able to act like pendulum blades, his head split open into a gaping maw of teeth, and his agility increased by tenfold. He tears through the site personnel's armed forced both figuratively and literally, carving a swath of wreckage in his wake. The surviving guards and scientists try to evacuate, but Hellish Syrin is just as much of a persistent dickhead as his normal form and he gives chase for as long as he can, picking off more humans along the way. Like, I imagine at one point Uthman and the others managing to get into a room, closing and locking down a door behind them, thinking that they're safe, before Syrin's head just crashes through the wall and door like an ax blade cutting through a tree, the chase once more back on. And most horrifying for Uthman and the humans, I imagine too at some point they manage to deal a fatal blow to Syrin by just completely decapitating him (somehow, not sure how) only for his head to just reattach and heal within moments. Hammerhead Flatworms are nicknamed "Immortal Worms" for a reason, and that regenerative healing amped up to 110% power due to Givanium makes Syrin essentially unkillable. For the first time since starting all this research into GV, Uthman feels true fear and abject horror at what he's created and the danger it poses. Eventually Uthman and the few remaining surviving personnel manage to make it to an elevator and escape, Hellish Syrin unable to follow despite all his attempts and screeching and clawing. Hellish Syrin then slinks back the way he came, lost in the haze of rage and bloodlust that is the Hellish form. Dadoo approaches him before he can reach the kingdom, having been watching Syrin's hellish rampage from a distance in both lovestruck awe and horror, though Syrin being lost in the haze just screeches and attacks him too. Dadoo is able to dodge and hold him off somewhat, trying to snap his platonic husband friend out of it. Though hellish Syrin just continues his attack and tries rushing for the kingdom gates and the others cowering behind it, Dadoo lunging into his way to stop him. Though what ultimately stop him is his eldest son Liam (I headcanon Liam was his first kid) rushing to put himself between his father and Dadoo, begging his dad to calm down and come back to them. The sight of his eldest child managing to pull a small part of Syrin's psyche out of the hellish haze, ceasing his rampage, and after a few moments starting to rasp out a single word over and over "...Hurts...hurts..." (another headcanon of mine, if the mutants are in constant pain on a regular basis due to the GV giving them life, then an overdose of GV probably leaves them in agony) His friends manage to coax him into some dark and secluded area in the kingdom for him to rest and recover while the hellish form wears off, Syrin repeatedly puking up GV as his body works to rid itself of the excess of it. Dadoo sits with his platonic husband friend the whole time until he's recovered. Bouncelia looks after Syrin's kids for him in his absence. Toadster guards and patrols the entrance to the area so no one can bother the guy while he recovers. And Bittergiggle and Syrin's kids repeatedly visit to check in on him. And within a few days, Syrin is back to his normal size and form. As for Uthman and the others meanwhile, this incident ends up being one of the main reasons they end up giving the mutants that ultimatum of "Stop the revolution or we eradicate you all." Uthman, who had been very adamant about not wanting a single one of the cases killed. now left in abject horror of the destructive capabilities of his creations. Realizing the consequences of him having played god with GV, and feeling like Icarus with wax melting down his back.

I’m hoping to have more doodles for this au done today, but I’m posting this one alone just in case. This is for my version of the age swap au that @httyd-nerd’s version reminded me/inspired me to further develop, and it’s of a baby Ant and Maddie. In my version, Ant and Maddie are the older siblings whereas Finn and Fontaine are the younger siblings. But they still meet at the same age as they did in canon, so Ant and Maddie have a few years of getting to know each other before their little siblings are deemed old enough to partake in the family shenanigans

However. In canon Ant and Maddie have a three year age gap, Ant being older. I’ve aged them up to around the same age in this au, meaning that Maddie is the same age as Ant, maybe a bit younger, when they first meet

Ten year old Madeline is the same height as a twelve-thirteen year old Ant. The same age as if only a little bit younger than Ant Madeline would be a fair bit taller than him. And he does NOT like it

porter's first real taste of the sea was on a family picnic, the first and last time the palmers had the opportunity to be complete. uncle bruce had brought a didgeridoo made of pvc pipe from a recent special in sydney. sensitive to culture as he was at the age of one month, porter used it as a straw and drank up enough salt water to dehydrate him to the age of one decade.

Vox headcanon time! 📺💙🦈

Right so I've had this for a while so I might as well put this out there, cause idea is so cute to me I can't.

Okay so we all know Vark, right?

Well here's an idea.

Well, meet Vark and Bark! (Vark obviously being the hammerhead and Bark being the other one)

I've always liked this idea of Vox being such a dog person when he was alive and the thought of him having 2 massive huskies he could cuddle when things got tough is sweet. Vox was a CEO, and instead of hiring bodyguards like a normal person he got guard dogs. 2 huskies that can rip apart someone's flesh with just a click of Vox's fingers and he loved them with all his heart.

When someone crossed him he'd just give the order, watch Vark and Bark claw and rip apart a body with a smile, gore and all and then be like "Do my babies want a treat, do my wil' babies wanna snack?" like nothing happened

Which is why when Vox died he spent his first week in hell just wondering if his sons were okay. Until a few years later when Vox is in an aquarium, 2 sharks slam up their noses against the glass to look at him and follow him pressed up against the glass wall. At first he's like 'What the fuck' but when he realises it's them and that his dogs ended up in hell with him he buys them. Not for sale? Don't care, he's the CEO of Voxtech, He'll buy the goddamn aquarium if he has to.

And that's exactly what he did.

(PS. Alastor fucking hates Vox's baby voice, with a passion. He's like "stop talking like it can understand you it's an animal" and Vox gasps in response)

I just had a cool idea for a whole scenario and headcanon- Syringeon has gone into his "Hellish" form one single time since he was made, the first, last, and only time he's ever done so. (I have tons of ideas and headcanons about givanium and what exactly the "Hellish" forms of the characters are, though I haven't really touched on them in any of my posts yet. Basically though I headcanon a character mutates into their Hellish form via one of three mean; either an overabundance/overdose of GV ((i.e. LittleBeak falling into the barrel)) which can be undone via purging the body of the excess GV, a drastic lacking of GV like blood loss from an injury ((a character getting hurt and then acting like when a boss fight has a 2nd phase)) which can be undone just via healing the individual back up, or the outlier of the three being that odd "modified Givanium solution" that's mentioned in notes) Anyway though, new headcanon/idea; Syringeon has mutated into his Hellish form one single time in his life, and it was in order to protect his family and friends on Layer-4.

I had an idea for a scenario that happens around the middle of the failed-revolution-arc, a team of armed site personnel are sent down to Layer-4 in an attempt to quell the mutants growing revolution, quelling quickly turns into threatening and the situation spirals into a full on attack. Most all mutants who can fight back do, but things go wrong and everyone ends up needing to fall back to the kingdom. Syrin ends up staying behind to buy the others more time. Syrin heads back to the attacking armed force of humans, manages to easily take a few down, but is quickly and severely outnumbered by the site personnel and surrounded. He bides for more time by getting into an argument with Uthman, who's also there, but not even that plan holds out for long before Uthman is giving orders for the guards to take down and capture Syrin so they can continue onto the kingdom and the other cases. Syrin starts panicking as the guards start to close in on him. He's damn near impossible to kill thanks to his hammerhead worm genomes letting him heal and regenerate, but he can still be subdued and restrained, and if that happens then the guards will get to the kingdom. Not only will his family and friends most likely get hurt, but he won't be there to heal them up either. Syrin is panicking and wracking his brain for a way out, before a realization suddenly hits him- He and the guards are currently at a location in the facility that's an upper floor overlooking a lower floor, and not only that, but there's a multitude of very large GV barrels scattered around the lower floor bellow. Some of which have been left open with no covering. Syrin knows what he has to do, and is cringing at what he knows is about to come, but knows that he has no other choice if he's gonna hold the humans off to protect everyone. Syrin makes a break for it, managing to duck and dodge past the surrounding guards and getting only a few gunshots as a result, before running full-tilt to the nearest balcony and just fucking vaulting over the railing. Diving headfirst into an open vat of GV. His last thoughts before losing consciousness are "I won't let them get to my family." followed by "It hurts it hurts ithurtsithurtsITHURTS-!" before the world went black for him. The guards and the site personnel all crowed around the spot of the railing the case had jumped over, and look over the edge at the open vat of GV down below that the case had disappeared into, their blood running cold as they realize what's about to happen... And after a moment, a hand emerges from the teal liquid and grabs the edge of the vat, mirrored by a second hand on the other side. Followed by another hand, and another hand... and another, and another, and another, and another. A horrifying amount of hands and arms emerging from the GV to grip the edges of the vat, while a horrifyingly large and mutated body hauls its way up and out of the liquid. The mutant now more than long enough that once his pendulum-like head is pulled up, he towers over and looks down on the humans on the second floor. And just-
