Sebastian's Real Name?

In this Halloween 2016 drawing from Toboso, Sebastian is holding the pen, so I'm assuming he is the one who signed the contract, so what's written on the line should be Sebastian's name. However, I'm not sure whether what's written is just 'Sebastian,' or if Toboso actually sneakily revealed Sebastian's real name.

To my eyes, the signature on the contract is comprised of 6 symbols. However, I can't tell if the first symbol is the same as the third (this one):

If the symbols are written using a syllabary (like Japanese hiragana and katakana), each symbol represents a syllable (or mora, in the case of hiragana/katakana). In this case, the amount of symbols would match those of Sebastian's name in Katakana (セバスチャン). However, if the first and third symbols are actually the same, the katakana wouldn't match (it's SE ba SU chan, not SE ba SE chan or SU ba SU chan).

It's also possible that the contract is written using an alphabet (each symbol representing phonemes or individual sounds). In this case, the original message might be in English and each symbol is replacing a specific letter of the Latin alphabet (a simple substitution cipher). This also fits the fact that at several points in the body of the contract, consecutive symbols are identical, which is also a feature of English (fEEt, leSSon).

Other options that I acknowledge as possible but find less likely:

-The symbols are random and I'm taking it too seriously. I don't think this is the case because the repeating consecutive symbols (probably) wouldn't make sense if Toboso were writing the symbols randomly. Also, she could have just used squiggles or the vague shapes of letters like she's done in the past to represent irrelevant newspaper text.

-The symbols aren't a direct cipher. I don't believe Toboso would put that much work into a writing system for a single piece of supplemental social media art. To the best of my knowledge, she hasn't used this writing system elsewhere. The symbols in Sebastian's summoning circle and Sullivan's witchcraft/formula circles are different.

-The symbols are a direct cipher of a language other than Japanese or English. English (because of the manga setting) and Japanese (because the manga and Toboso are Japanese) seem most likely, but it may be Latin, because of its association with demonology and religion.

Sorry, I realize I sounded rude and condescending to you, that was not my intention. I am merely upset about the treatment of twst lately by its parent company.

I posted some proof earlier in response to some asks I have received but most of it comes from Yana's twitter. Sadly, a lot of those tweets have been scrubbed from existence since they do not paint Disney in a positive light (as you would expect when making claims such as that Japanese creators just can't be trusted to handle serious topics well). The book 6 incident sparked controversy in the JP-speaking fanbase at which point Yana suddenly deleted all the previous tweets and flipped the story upside down claiming the JP team was actually writing book 6 and the US team was only doing editorial work – the exact opposite of her original tweets. Notably, the mention of US Disney staff making comments about the JP team has never been addressed and it's treated as though it never happened so whether it was just an empty accusation or not, that's up to what you choose to believe. Given the track record of both Yana Toboso and Disney, I am more inclined to take her side.

When it comes to Playful Land, Yana stated that her team was in charge of the base scenario, storyboarding, character and background design, etc. but notably didn't mention writing, at least not in the same way she usually does when talking about her work on twst. You may argue that scenario may refer to writing the actual event but, again, that differs from every other time she talked about writing for events, chapters, or character stories.

Please forgive me for not providing links but, again, some of these tweets were scrubbed clean (and I can point you to multiple other people who have also seen them if you don't believe me). If you go to Yana's twitter (@/toboso_official), you can see her comments on the latest event.

High Level Review and Critique

So like Kalim is the biggest example of this, but to be honest, None of the students (barring Ace to an extent) was taking this seriously enough

They were acting like it was the Ghost Bride and it was just another Haha HeeHee HooHoo adventure with silly shenanigans

EXCEPT, they did it in the context of Pinocchio's Pleasure Island - literally the one franchise that featured human trafficking and the bad guys were never caught on screen

So right away, there's a BIG mismatch between how the cast is approaching and how high the story's stakes are. Because the cast don't seem like they have Any stakes at all. They're fucking trolling Fellow through most of it for being a school hater. REALLY?!? Thats your topic of choice when you're about to be sold as a living puppet???

Kalim gets most of the attention for not taking this seriously enough. But I really think most of them *werent*. I mean look at Ortho! Look how they murdered my boy! Youre telling me that theres a jamming signal powerful enough to block Ortho?? Youre telling me - he didnt automatically dodge the falling glass?? Youre telling me that he didnt plan to take out the snipers that destroyed all flying things so they could leave??

There were so many things that they could have done if they were taking it seriously. But they werent. They treated it like a light hearted adventure when its really not?? They all decided to martyr themselves for vague reasons that they couldnt hide from enough puppets??

I mean... Leona's capture was just fucking tragic, come on...

Part of it is like sure Fellows magic is keeping them light hearted. But it doesnt help the dissonance that the audience feels. Because going back to Pinnochio, my boy was PANICKING. That scene is high octane nightmare fuel bc the boys were so scared!! We see none of that... None of the boys (except maybe Ace) was like scared at all...
