#dean's frequent encapsulations of instances of sam's existence outside of his role‚ outside of the ideal of sam that dean has projected onto#within instances of sam's expression of sexuality is so interesting. he does it in 4.01 and 6.09 too. and ive spoken about this before#and white dean does have his a specific complex about sam's monstrosity wrt the compartmentalisation of sam's identity#between his monstrosity and his sam to be saved‚ there's an even more direct application of a complex adjacent to modonna-whore complex#within his projected perspective of sam's sexuality here. it even often becomes conflated with the former dichotomised complex#(case in point: ruby and season six) it's also insanely relevant to 1) eileen's status as a hunter‚ that they met on a hunt in season eleven#(the status of sam within his relationship with dean as important!) and dean's acceptance of her as sam's partner (“she gets us!”)#as well as 2) jessica purely as a hypothetical‚ an ideal (2.20) as well as the hypothetical of sam's life with a wife and kids#beyond hunting on dean's say so (8.14‚ 15.20)#ive been saying this since i started the show for the first time 😭 but ive legit never seen a male character be subject to this before#™#5.16#meta#^ prev#spn 5x16
