Some follow up posts following the recent Bloomberg [article]. Rest of post under cut due to length.
Jason Schreier: "One element of the Dragon Age story that I want to emphasize: If the team had known in 2021 (after the single-player pivot) that they'd ship in Oct 2024, it'd be a much different game. Instead they were always under the impression they had to finish in 6-12 months, which led to all sorts of problems. This happened with Suicide Squad, too, and countless other games that seemed to be in development for years but in reality were just delayed half a dozen times, offering the team little opportunity to plan or make smart long-term decisions" [source, two]
Jason Schreier re: this Reddit post which is titled 'To the DA devs after that Bloomberg article': "I suspected that hearing the whole story behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard's tumultuous development would lead to a lot of fans expressing empathy for the people in the trenches [link]" [source]
Blair Thorburn: "the worst part is that those issues were called out almost immediately, and the choice was made to push on. this strategy backed the team into an impossible situation from the start, and it was a miracle we shipped at all, nevermind shipping at the quality we did. our narrative team were heroes." [source]
Jo Berry: "Having seen the circumstances under which they were trying to create... I mean, I only came in right at the end and it was still -- holy shit." [source]
Brian J. Audette, rt'ing the article: "Reposting without comment except: I refute that we made a bad or compromised game. We made the best version of what we released, warts and all. I'm damn proud of it and the team. We couldn't have made a _better_ Dragon Age, only a _different_ one." [source] "Still the best reviewed game I ever worked on in a 25+ year career." [source]
John Epler: "my career up to this point has been largely motivated by spite and the good news is it seems I am in no danger of running out" [source]
John Epler: "still the truest thing I've ever posted" [source] John Epler [prior post]: "sorry one last DA thing, i just want to say, once again, that the team did some incredibly herculean shit to get this game done. they deserve all the kudos and credit in the world. i've never seen people work so hard or care so much. grateful to know them all." [source]
Also:
User: "I guess my big question is why did the game get an 83 on metacritic with all these problems." Jason Schreier: "Sometimes reviewers just don't align with general reception. Fallout New Vegas got an 84 while Fallout 4 got an 87" [source]
User: "Christ. Second major BioWare game in a row to inspire an investigative "what the hell went wrong?" piece from Schreier." Jason Schreier: "third" [source]
A user queried the part of the article that stated the Mass Effect team overhauling DA:TV's ending, mentioning that this seems unfair to say.
Jason Schreier: "Well, the ME team steered it and, most importantly, got the resources to make it happen. But I see your point and obviously in game dev, credit is always a funky thing." [source]
Following the Suicide Squad post above:
User: "the difference being that suicide squad's live service push was determined by studio leadership, whereas the dragon age decisions came from outside bioware right?" Jason Schreier: "I don't think it's quite that simple. If you run a studio owned by a company whose execs are coming in with powerpoint presentations about how live-service is the future, it might be "your choice" what kind of game to pitch but what's really going to secure you a budget?" what are leona's flaws if he has any?
Of course he has flaws, everyone—fictional and real—does. Leona’s are quite numerous and very blatantly out there in some cases, so this ask (which sort of implies he doesn’t have flaws at all) surprised me 😅 His are pretty hard to miss, no…? Of course, some of these flaws do improve over the course of the main story, but they are still largely present.
I’m not sure what prompted this question, but I hope it’s not because I somehow gave off the impression that I’m not cognizant of his flaws. I may occasionally sing the guy praises about being a good leader/big brother figure but I’d like to think that I also humble him just as much by bringing up his less savory personality traits (namely his laziness, underhandedness, and pride) and his shortcomings as a leader. I try to look at characters from all angles, regardless of how I personally feel about them overall.
That being said, there’s a slew of flaws to highlight, some of which I already mentioned earlier. Leona is:
Lazy, or, more accurately, unmotivated. If he’s not interested in it or feels he isn’t gaining something himself from acting, 9 times out of 10 Leona won’t lift a finger and/or will choose to nap instead. He frequently doesn’t even attend classes because he thinks there’s nothing they could teach him that the royal tutors haven’t. In many other cases, he ends up helping others because he’ll get something from it. For example, he may teach the first years how to properly mine magestones in his Camping Gear vignette, but only so they quiet down and he can have a quiet spot to nap.
Underhanded. He’s more focused on his desired results rather than the morality or ethics of what methods he uses to achieve those results. Lying, bending the rules, roughing up people who get in his way… Nothing’s off the table. All of book 2 basically illustrates this.
Seeking approval, often to his own detriment. This is usually framed as him wanting the crown, but it’s actually a consequence of Leona wanting to be acknowledged by others since he was without it for most of his life. These feelings lead to many self-destructive behaviors and sentiments, including the events of book 2.
Unable to take criticism. He tends to get mad and lashes out when people point out his flaws. Leona even OBs after Lilia says to his face that he has a rotten personality and could never hope to match Diasomnia’s king.
Selfish and spoiled. Let’s be honest, he just is 😭 He’s often ordering others around or expecting to be waited on and not thinking about how it could inconvenience them, yet he also acts really annoyed whenever others ask him to help out with something. Leona also rarely stops to listen to others’ sides of stories, he considers his own perspective to be the most important.
Competitive. His pride is easily wounded, especially if someone claims to be stronger than him in a particular area (even if it’s an area he doesn’t necessarily care about). For example, he argued with Vil about which of them would be the ideal suitor for the Ghost Bride and has a known grudge against Malleus, a fellow prince and skilled player in his own sport of choice.
Arrogant and prideful. This goes hand-in-hand with the other traits; Leona thinks highly of himself and his skills… perhaps too much so. Because of this, he has issues yielding his command to others or even considering opinions which differ from his own. This is why he doesn’t have a vice dorm leader; he’d rather rule unquestioningly. It’s his way or the highway!
Domineering. He doesn’t ask you to do things, he tells you to do things and you obey. This happens a lot between him and Ruggie, but also with other characters and even NPCs like the pixies in Fairy Gala (when he demands water to distract them from finding Yuu and co.).
Petty. This holds true for most of the NRC boys, but I think it’s particularly the case for Leona, who tries to beat up a magicless human for accidentally stepping on his tail and then bullies that same human + some extras in a sportsball game 💀 He’s also infamous for his several harsh quips against Malleus and other characters that are just there minding their own business or existing.
Needlessly aggressive (in some cases). There’s no question that Leona would prefer to use his brains before his brawn. However, there are instances in which he resorts to magic or physical strength instead of scheming or talking out a solution. For example, the aforementioned attempt to attack Yuu (a defenseless, magicless human) for an accident. Dialogue in Malleus’s dorm uniform vignettes also implies Leona intended to put his hands on Malleus after a perceived slight. In his own dorm uniform vignettes, Leona is about to unleash his UM on second year students who are stepping out of line (Jack has to intervene and beg him to stop).
Defeatist. This stands in contrast to his usual arrogance, but I’m a strong believer in the “Leona uses his arrogance to mask for his own insecurities about being second best/place his entire life” thing. If he thinks there’s no point in trying, that he won’t be acknowledged no matter how hard he tries, he simply won’t. Instead, he’ll wallow in his sorrows and lament about things out of his control (such as birth order or life not being fair)—even though choosing to act or not is in his control. He also has a tendency to deny others’ love and respect for him, almost as if he believes it’s untrue or… he doesn’t believe himself to be worthy of those feelings.
Afraid of failure. For as cocksure as Leona presents himself to the world, he has a crippling fear of failing. That’s why he’s so quick to throw in the towel in book 2; if he deflects the blame to others or raises the white flag early, he can reason with himself that he didn’t really “lose”. There’s nothing more humiliating to try so hard only to not succeed in the end… just like he has his entire life. In the light novel, Leona also expresses that he’s afraid of having hope, because that makes it so much more soul crushing when that hope amounts to nothing. I believe it’s these feelings that also shaped his UM. Why is the identity defining magic he wields destructive? Maybe because Leona himself believes that this is his fate: the prince with naught, because everything he touches turns to sand.

Chance Equals Fortune — Chapter Two
Squid Game | The Salesman x F!Reader
Summary: the salesman meets face to face with the outcome of his betrayal, the punishment worse than what he could've imagined. as the time for the games approaches, you say goodbye to both your present and your past in hopes of a better future.
Warnings: mentions of torture and sex slavery (very brief), most likely some out-of-character actions from the salesman.
a/n: guess who's not dead. i really have no excuse for such a long absence other than life being a pain in the ass. if anyone is still here, thank you so much for your patience, i appreciate every single person who has stayed.
Words: 3.8k
<<previous part
Time had passed relatively quickly. The days blurred into one another as the salesman’s memory folded them like a worn-out book. The monotony of his schedule was as dependable and predictable as the ticking of a clock. Rise, recruit, return. Yet, over the past few weeks, no major events had taken place that should’ve caused the man any feelings of distress. Everything had been quiet…too quiet.
In the days following the salesman’s meeting with Gi-hun, there had been no notice or visit from the higher-ups concerning the outcome of their little game. Something that he had expected to happen almost immediately. In fact, that same night, as he lay atop the twin-size bed of his newly acquired hideout, he imagined that the darkness he saw when he closed his eyes would be the last thing he would ever perceive. So, it was much to his surprise when the next morning, daylight flickered in and illuminated the space of his room and not the rainfall of gunfire.
Could this be a tactic? Some way to lull me into a false sense of security?
When it came to recruiting, the rules were very strict. Call in after each shift to report on the occurrences of the preceding hours. It would be foolish of him to assume that they had taken no notice of the fact that he hadn’t dialed in as he had every other night without fail. As days turned into weeks, and the silence became ever so deafening, he decided the best thing to do was to continue his job as usual. There was no reason for him to seek out calamity when it was bound to find him in the end. Who knows? Perhaps they were waiting for him to finish serving his intended function before disposing of him for good.
Regardless of their reasoning, I cannot let my guard down.
After the recruiter spoke with Gi-hun, he made sure to take all the preventative measures necessary. First, he was sure to find some refuge that would make it much more difficult to be spotted. Next, although he resumed his job of rounding up players for the games, he made certain that each individual could not be traced back to him. Finally, he strayed as far as possible from places where he knew employees of the games would frequent. Having had a hand in hiring a significant portion of the workers, he knew the details of all their non-criminal pass times. Such as where they lived, worked, and socialized. Of course, this limited the number of places where he could gather food and other necessities, but nothing that he hadn’t handled before.
Despite the constant vigilance he has implemented into his daily life, it never stemmed any feelings of fear. Every day was unpredictable. After having lived so long controlling the fates of others by waving their flaws, unmasking their misfortune, and then offering them a treat, the tables were now suddenly turned on him. Instead of being the hunter, he was now the exposed creature on the other end of a blade, facing the razor edge of the decision which is now costing him the life he had worked so hard to build. He knew too well that the games weren’t just about the players. There was always collateral damage—those who walked the fine line between participant and observer, those who facilitated it all in the shadows. And now, it seemed, he was no longer immune to the consequences. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, he felt lost.
However, it didn’t matter what emotions or inner turmoil he could be experiencing. Very soon, someone would find him and haul him away, hiding him from the rest of the world where he would never be seen again by the eyes of the public.
I wonder…what method they will use?
His mind swirled with the endless possibilities of punishments they might inflict on him. He could practically feel the cold metallic of the instruments cutting through his skin, pulling away at his tissue, tearing at his muscles, until finally cracking bone.
Of course, I cannot eliminate the possibility of being turned into new shiny entertainment for the V.I.Ps. In that case, should I prepare myself in some way? Who knows what sort of fantasies they would have me perform and whether—
*POP!*
“The total is 26,000 won please.”
The sharp sound jolted the man back to the present. He blinked, disoriented. He has to shake his head to physically tear his focus away from his thoughts and back to the cashier standing in front. A young lady who was currently staring at him with an expression of feigned concern that poorly masked her irritation.
“Are you alright?” She tried again. This time, the tone of her voice turned sour as her brow furrowed, clearly puzzled about what was causing the delay from the other man to pay.
He cleared his throat as he forced out a chuckle, his instincts kicking in. “Pardon me,” he said, his voice light and polished, “I have no idea where my mind is today.” His hand reaches around to fish out his wallet as he feels her eyes on him, judging and impatient. He doesn’t wait for her to hand him his change before taking hold of the bags of food and heading for the exit, the bells of the doorway jingling aggressively on his way out.
From the moment he steps out, he inhales greedily, the crisp winter breeze a stark contrast to the fried oil aroma from the inside of the fast food joint. The salesman’s breath forms small clouds in the cold air as he begins his trek in direction of shelter. As he walked, he took the time to appreciate the scenery he had neglected for far too long. The leaves around him fell in cascades of gold and red whilst the air carried the faint scent of decay. Autumn was announcing its retreat as the beginnings of winter were taking its place. Tonight was a chilly November night, the first, to be exact. The night before the start of the games.
The salesman pulled up his sleeve to see the time. 11:45. By now, the vans should be arriving at their designated spots.
With that thought, his mind seemed to unconsciously drift to you, the girl whose volatile nature had managed to completely render useless all of his skills and tactics as a recruiter. You, who had unraveled his carefully constructed facade with nothing but your words and your presence. You, the only one who had managed to beat him. He would be lying if he said he was uninterested, wondering if your decision to join the games was a positive one. Your words echoed in his brain like a mantra, “I never lose.” Was that a threat or a promise? Perhaps that is the one thing he will regret the most from his sudden “betrayal,” he won’t be around to witness you in your full glory as a player. The storm of emotions you managed to make him feel in the span of one game, was more excitement than he had felt in years since the start of his career as a recruiter.
Before he could dwell any further on you or the effects you had on him, he was taken off guard by the low purr of an engine. His head whipped up, his body tensing at being caught in such a vulnerable state. His gaze immediately fell on the sleek black limousine that was pulling up beside him on the now-empty street.
I guess this would make it the second time you’ve managed to distract me.
The back window rolled down, revealing a man shrouded in shadow. The voice that emerged was calm, measured, and utterly devoid of warmth. “Get in.”
He hesitated. Momentarily debating on taking his chances before realizing there was only one possible outcome of this interaction. With his usual bravado, he squared his shoulders and strolled to the car door with as much elegance and poise as he could muster. His fingers twitching slightly as he drew his arm and reached for the door.
As he slid into his seat, the door closed behind him with a soft thud. Once inside the expensive vehicle, he slipped on his usual mask of ease and uninterest. The interior was dimly lit, the faint glow of the dashboard casting long shadows across the plush of the leather seats. The air was thick with the fragrance of expensive cologne. The figure in front of him was a mostly dark silhouette, the only visible feature being his geometric-shaped mask.
As the car pulled away from the curb, gliding smoothly through the dark night, the tension in the space between the two men thickened, the heavy atmosphere becoming suffocating.
“You have been…elusive,” the frontman’s voice rumbled, his stern tone being the first sound to break through the silence. “I suppose you are aware of the reason for why I am here.”
The recruiter let out a heavy sigh and clicked his tongue. “I assume it is not for pleasant conversation? After all, you have never been the sociable type, sir.”
A humorless chuckle emanated from the man. “I can see your sense of humor hasn’t disappeared, though I can’t say the same for your sense of loyalty.” The frontman leans forward, his voice lowering to a hiss, the fury evident in every word. “What the hell were you thinking?”
The recruiter’s head turned up, his gaze turning contemplative as he thought over the question. In all honesty, he himself did not know the full reason why he did what he did. The choice to turn his back on the organization he had served for so long is as bewildering and unexpected for him as it must be for the other man. He decided the best way to answer was with the closest thing he considered the truth. “I was curious.”
The salesman’s response hung in the air. “...Curious? You were willing to betray us? The people who saved you from your life of aimlessly wandering and handed you power. The ones whose goals aligned with your beliefs and granted you the ability to act on them. Just because you were curious?"
The recruiter leaned back against the seat, his facade of calm unwavering despite the storm brewing around him. He crossed his legs casually, as if this were nothing more than a routine talk. “I suppose I wanted to see what would happen,” he said, his tone light and airy, almost conversational. “You of all people should understand the allure of curiosity. After all, isn’t that what drives the games? The thrill of seeing how far people will go, what they are willing to do when pushed to their limits? Gi-hun…Gi-hun is an anomaly. Someone who despite all odds managed to win without becoming consumed by greed.”
The frontman’s gloved hands tightened into fists, his leather gloves creaked softly as anger seeped through. His posture stiffened as his image of self-control slowly began to crack.
Ignoring the increasing rage from the man in front of him, the salesman continued. “Gi-hun managed to go through the entirety of the games without once shedding a drop of blood, even if it went against his chances for survival. I believe it is fair to be intrigued by his actions considering how far he has already gotten. I…I wish to see how much farther he can go” He tilted his head, the volume of his words increasing as he grew in confidence. “If I recall correctly, sir, you yourself vowed to never become a “monster” like you oh so confidently stated during your games. In the end, you managed to rise through the ranks even quicker than I have…Are you not also intrigued by Gi-hun, sir?”
The frontman scoffed, “If you were as capable as you are insolent, you wouldn’t be in your current predicament. I can only assume you have lost the last bit of your sanity, or else you wouldn’t be this much of an idiot to–”
“Do you want some fried chicken?”
The question stunned the man, momentarily causing him to falter in his speech. “I’m sorry?”
“No need, I have original and spicy.” The salesman’s voice carried a playful note, his hands already taking the containers of food from the bag and placing them on his lap. “Though, I think the original would pair best with your whiskey.” If tonight is truly the night he is meant to die, he might as well go out with a full stomach.
The frontman lets out a huff, shaking his head in disbelief. “You do realize you’re in no position to be making jokes, correct?”
“With all due respect, sir, you were the one that intercepted me on my way home. If you were that impatient and could not wait for me to finish my dinner before speaking to me, then the very least you could do is allow me to eat here.” The recruiter spares a single glance at the man in front of him before taking a bite from a chicken leg.
The masked man sighed. “How much information did you give to Gi-hun?”
The salesman stopped chewing, tilting his head and raising an eyebrow as the realization hit him.
He doesn’t know of Gi-hun’s plans.
The recruiter swallowed his bite of chicken, his mind racing. The frontman didn’t know the extent of what Gi-hun had planned–which meant the organization had no idea how to prevent the attack that was to come. They were completely in the dark regarding the next steps of Gi-hun and had no notion that Gi-hun intended to use the frontman’s own soldiers against him. He felt a slow smirk tug at the corner of his lips.
Interesting.
“Did you lose Gi-hun, sir?”
The silence that came afterward was enough of an indication that the frontman was, for once, no longer in complete control.
“I have…some ideas, as to where he will be…” The masked man leaned forward, his presence taking up the small space. “Currently, however, nobody has managed to catch a single sight of him.”
“And you believe that I know where he is?”
The frontman reaches into his pocket, retrieving a remote control. When he pushes a button, a small monitor appears from the ceiling and plays security camera footage. The video displays the outside of the motel which Gi-hun was using as a hideout, the night the salesman went to visit him. The camera captures the recruiter leaving, hair disheveled and clearly startled, looking frantically around him before eventually heading somewhere unknown. Moments later, Gi-hun himself comes out, the salesman’s phone in hand, and walking in the opposite direction. The camera cuts to another angle, this time displaying Gi-hun shooting a text on the phone, the words being too blurry to make out. Gi-hun then looks up at the street camera, the anger visible in his eyes even through a screen, before walking into an alleyway and the screen turns to static.
“I assume that was your phone in his hand, was it not?” The conviction in his tone made it clear that it wasn’t a question, it was a statement, an accusation.
“Yes…But I have no idea where he is.” At least that part was the truth. He had had no reason to keep contact with Gi-hun after that night. He had played the game, failed, and paid the price, there was no further connection tying them to each other. In the end, Gi-hun, despite having won the games, was still nothing more than a pest. No amount of sacrifice on his part would change that. “Despite what you may believe, I have no intention of dismantling a system that has benefited society thus far.”
“Then why? Being intrigued is not enough of a reason for you, not after having served us for so long. You, who has been our most loyal and efficient recruiter. What could have possibly happened in that room for you to make such an abnormal decision? What possible reason would you have to ally yourself with a person whose ideas you don’t agree with?
The recruiter’s features became strained, the memory of his defeat playing in his mind all over again. “...I lost. I lost and he won…There’s no more to the reason for what I did than that.”
“I should've known…your love for the game, your greatest strength, would also become our biggest liability.” The frontman releases a small chuckle, in amusement or incredulity, the other isn’t quite sure. “You have left me no choice…”
At this, the recruiter raised his head, his jaw setting, his facade of indifference unwavering despite the storm brewing before him. “So…What is my sentence, sir?” he asks, the playful ring in his voice doing little to distract him from the thundering of his racing heart.
Nothing. The vacancy of noise and stillness that followed afterward could be mistaken for tranquility to any naive outsider who managed to look inside the closed space. Yet, when one peered further, deep into the minds of the two gentlemen sitting on either side of each other, they would catch heavy electricity infiltrating the atmosphere.
After what felt like hours to the salesman, the frontman cocked his head, seemingly regarding him. His mask made it hard for the other to distinguish the exact thought process the figurehead was currently debating.
“I am well aware of the reason you started working for us in the first place…and your opinion of the players.” Then, with deliberate slowness, he reached into his coat pocket and withdrew a small tan business card. “You, are not a person that fears death or pain. No, no. You deserve something a little more special.”
The recruiter froze, his eyes widening and breath hitching as dread shot through his system as forceful and sudden as a gunshot. The implication of his words lying heavy on his chest. “No…There is no way you would risk the games. Not with the support of the V.I.Ps on the line and everything I know…” His voice trailed off, knowing deep down that all those elements mattered little when it came to situations like this.
“On the contrary, I think this would cause much excitement for them. Especially now that I have to provide them with a new guest star for this year’s tournament.” He lets out a huff, his voice lowering to a murmur, “This wasn’t how any of this was supposed to go…”
The car abruptly stops, causing the recruiter to lurch forward in his seat.
“This is who you are now. This is now your new position and identity in the world. You weren’t content with disposing of scum? Congratulations, you have turned into one.” The frontman leans forward, his voice remaining monotone despite the modulator distorting his words. “Let’s see how long you last on the other side.”
With that, an unseen person on the outside opens the car door as the masked man swiftly rises from his spot. Before the salesman can gather his thoughts or even attempt to make a move, the door is quickly shut again. When he tries the handle from inside, the door is jammed.
As he looks around, the faint lighting of the car becomes darker and darker before he realizes that smoke is emerging from the air-conditioning vents. As he feels his strength weakening, he sighs as he closes his eyes, leaning his head on the rich headrest.
God, I hope this shit doesn’t give me a headache.
It’s today.
You paced back and forth through the small space of your home, anxiety and exhilaration manifesting themselves in your shaky hands. Your breath irregular as the thought made your pulse quicken.
You are supposed to go to the address they provided in 15 minutes. There, you would meet the van meant to drive you to the supposed “games.” The games where you would hopefully win a shit ton of money that would save your ass from financial ruin. The bit of cash you had won playing against that salesman had already run out, leaving you in a tight situation with the loan sharks. The bright red colors spelling out “eviction notice” on the otherwise plain piece of cardstock stuck out like a sore thumb in the poorly illuminated space of your apartment.
As if you could call this shithole an apartment.
The wallpaper peeled at the edges, revealing the black mold that had begun to gradually crawl its way to the surface. The musty odor infesting the air and attacking your senses each time you entered the threshold of your home. Your “home,” being a measly 20 square meter room.
You had quickly learned to survive on the bare minimum: food, plumbing, electricity, the works. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing that could slow you down in your quest for survival. You were constantly jumping from one shabby apartment to another, each time eliminating another variable from your life that you deemed inessential.
Every element that could possibly link you to your past was eliminated. Each discarded with the same level of care as you would have towards a beggar. Abandoned and forgotten.
As you shrugged on your jacket, you took one last glance around, observing the skeletal remains of what you were forced to call a life.
The single chair with its broken leg propped against the wall. The mattress on the floor, stained with memories you’d rather forget. The empty ramen cups, forged in the corner as a monument to set in stone your desperation. The debris of your despair present all around.
How the hell did I get here?
You giggled bitterly to yourself as you recalled the events that led to your current predicament.
You can’t see. Your vision too blurred from the stream of tears cascading onto the floorboards of your home. Each individual tear seemingly mocking you as they touch the tiles, taunting in its ability to run free and escape at will. Something you have yet to master.
“Pull yourself together! You don’t deserve the right to cry in front of the █████ you dared to ruin!”
Bile rose in your throat, the flashback opening up an acidic and familiar wound.
You didn’t care how you got here. You need to focus on the one thing that mattered above all, triumphing. By any means necessary. You whirled around, yanking the door wide open and stepping through, your steps filled with newfound determination. Any previous doubt about the games completely thrown out the window. You had no idea what was waiting for you—and you couldn’t find it in yourself to care in the slightest. Nothing could be worse than this.
You slammed the door behind you.
You didn’t look back.

Hi! any ideas about Chara and the player? or the Player and Core!Frisk? or the whole trinity?
Hello! I’ll give you some fun facts and dynamic stuff
-Core Chara and Player don’t celebrate birthdays, but every so often they will gift each other smth and claim it’s a birthday gift.
-Player notes down all of Chara’s favorite things to better help her when she has a bad day. Chara only has to run her fingers through Player’s hair when he’s upset and he starts bawling and lets it out.
-Player has nightmares of Chara dying and him losing her. He knows it isn’t possible, but he still gets antsy when he doesn’t see her often, even after they fight.
-Chara is scared Player will get fed up and leave. Player is scared Chara will finally see him as a monster and hate him.
-Player’s main motivation is not purely out of love, but he wants to keep Chara happy and hopeful. He believes that if she was able to see smth good in him, despite how twisted he is, then if she loses hope, then the multiverse as they know it is over. Keeping her happy and content and at ease is his top priority bc seeing her cry makes him believe he’s failed, which is why he got so angry at Core Frisk.
-Core Frisk and Core Chara both have the right to be angry in their fight. However, Frisk stretches it out and stays stubborn due to them being younger and angry.
-Core Frisk and Player never used to be friends, but Frisk used to admire him at least a bit. They really wanted him to join the Omega Timeline and tried so hard to get him to like them, but he always found them annoying. They are slightly jealous Chara was able to do it instead
-Frisk and Player avoid each other heavily. Mainly bc Player is the only one who can harm Frisk since he’s a fourth dimension entity, and because Frisk makes him wonder if Chara would look that tired if he failed her one day.
Player fun facts
-Player is basically like a big guard dog. He’s affectionate with those he loves but a jerk to everyone else. To be honest, Player isn’t very against touch. He’s quite affectionate when he wants to be, but he also limits that to certain people, which is Chara and Wallie. However, Dakota slips into that too, but more in a friend way since they get along pretty good.
-Player was a mama’s boy. Therefore, he treats woman with utmost respect, especially ones older than him. Whenever he cross paths with Dream he gets shy and will flee- so Dream doesn’t fully understand what people mean when they say he’s so evil. She just thinks he’s a shy kid.
-This also means any boys in ElseWhere who are mean to woman bc they are at that preteen age, he will threaten and treat coldly.
-Player also has derealization issues that Wallie is aware of, but Chara isn’t. Wallie will find him in the dark staring into the fridge with empty eyes, and will have to coax him back to the present. These two have a very quiet and off screen friendship so far. I hope to do them more justice in more chapters since they are just as close and sweet.
-Player also doesn’t remember his human name at all :C or what his mother’s face looked like.

Playing Harmony of Dissonance! Part 1
For context, I just beat the Devil boss and am in the save room in the Sky Walkway.
-Guys I think it's just my fate to like divisive video games, cuz so far I'm having an extremely fun time lmaoooo
-To start of with the negatives, presentation definitely has aged a bit worse than Circle of the Moon. They made things brighter and intentionally made Juste's sprite stand out to avoid the lighting issues of its predecessors, but in modern era on a different system, it can come across a bit garish.
That said, sprite quality of monsters is still good, which was expected, cuz I think they reuse/remake a lot of monster sprites from Rondo and Symphony, which were incredible marvels in terms of sprite work
-The music is low hanging fruit from what I've researched in terms of reception. For me I quite like it. As someone who's been fairly inundated with music studies for the past 5+ years, including a jazz choir, a lot of these composition choices (dissonant chords, unorthodox bassline) are very familiar to me.
That said, the soundfont is clearly dated. A marvel were it on earlier hardward, but coming after Circle of the Moon's stellar sounds? Pretty washed. Similarly, while I love dissonance, it's at it's best when it's alongside standard melodies as well IMO. So having more of those would strengthen what's here, but it's still good at the end of the day.
Would I put it above the Castlevania staples or other original tracks? No. But saying "This Castlevania game's ost is on the lower end IMO" is like saying "this particular precious, expensive diamond is my least favorite." The games are that high quality.
Standout tracks: Successor of Fate (Juste's theme), Offense and Defense, Approach to Despair, and Chapel Sky
-You can do quick switches (meaning you don't have to pause and enter the menu) to your spellbooks by holding up and pressing L or R. You can turn spellbooks on and off to switch back and forth between regular sub-weapons by holding down and pressing both L and R at the same time.
The game NEVER tells you this. If you're not aware of this, then the most common thing to do with Harmony is to manually pause and go to the right menu. I'm still early in the game, doing that hasn't been a major pace breaker, but I anticipate more stuff to do and more backtracking later on, so knowing these quick switches helps a lot.
I found out about these on the internet, and figured out that they're also in the digital instruction booklet in the collection's gallery of all places. There's layouts for controls in these collections, so you'd think these combinations would be there, but they just aren't. Knowing these quick switches I imagine will become pretty essential to not add on time, so it sucks that it's never detailed to the player outside of very out-of-the-way means.
-On to the good stuff, I fucking love Juste, he's so weird (affectionate). He's strangely unbothered by his fate/duty as a Belmont, especially being the next notable one after Simon. He displays insane magical prowess, that Christopher and Simon didn't show before him, and Richter and Julius don't show after him. He looks like a bastard child of Alucard wearing Leon Belmont's coat. He picks up furniture around this dangerous and deadly castle, and arranges them in a secret room also in this same castle just because he wants to. He's my baby.
-Similar plot beat to Circle of the Moon where your friend is going off the deep end thanks to Dracula's/the castle's influence, and with another friend to save instead of a teacher. But what I like is that 1) there's more dialogue and instances of Juste and Maxim getting to talk compared to Nathan and Hugh, and 2) the approach is different.
Hugh's resentment was kind of standard. It was "rival is jealous of his partner -> rival tries to solo the challenges to prove himself better and more worthy -> rival gets his ass handed to him constantly requiring him to be saved by partner -> rival turns to the dark side after enought in story context corruption."
Maxim-at least so far-sees the Belmont legacy and duty as something of a curse, something that he feels Juste had no say in and yet is required of him to do. So he tries to remove that burden from Juste's shoulders by getting stronger and tackling the relic mission himself, but obviously SOMETHING happened to make him lose his memories and go from helpful to antagonistic. It's a sympathetic twist to what's expected, and I like that.
-So far, the geography of Harmony is just a lot more fun to interact with. The locales are all distinct and have great set pieces. Shout out to the skeleton cave for its moveable monster skulls to serve as platforms, the blue skies and clouds in the sky chapel, and that one room in the Luminous Cave where you unknowingly crush a giant monster to death to have its blood flood the room to make the platform rise to the top. Cool stuff, will have nightmares! But the good kind!
-Juste feels really good to play. Brightness of his sprite aside, he moves fluidly, he's fast thanks to his front and back dashes as well as his air drop, and it's good to maneuver in both the ground and the air. So far, I've gotten the double jump and the slide, which makes all of that even better.
-THE BOSSES, OOOOOH, THE BOSSES. They're really fun so far. They haven't been completely braindead, but just manageable enough that I don't expend too potions. They seem perfectly suited to the level the player is at (I think Harmony has dynamic experience?) and are just fun to fight! They have cool attacks and patterns, and so far don't feel like HP walls. It's just sooooo good!
-By far my favorite thing in this game and the reason why I'm having so much fun playing it, is the spell system and its combat. By combining spell books with subweapons, you gain access to attacks that consume MP, and they're so fucking FUN!!! Experimenting with them has been awesome, because the game sets a perfect pace at switching subweapons so you get to see what does what.
And you get your first spellbook at the exact time where you might feel a bit tired of just whipping enemies (provided you do the appropriate backtracking to previous areas), that's Good Game Design 101! Just the Ice book alone opened so many opportunities, like the Magic Missile homing in on enemies, the Ice Cubic's burst damage, the Hail Stone hitting enemies above, and the Water of Judgment being a ground level screen kill.
The best part? I don't dread fighting the regular enemies compared to Circle of the Moon. Because my options for combat are set rather than randomly occurring, I feel like I'm getting stronger all the time and don't have to worry about enemies just feeling like a drag or a big roadblock to the next save room.
Playing a magic focused character in a Castlevania game has always been fun, and nothing has changed here. Everything feels so right when I'm playing this game.
----
Anyway that's it for the first part. I know of the common criticism for the game, in that it's very much trying to be Symphony of the Night again, so I expect a second castle to explore. The lack of warp points for now does seem to kind of indicate some more tedious backtracking, so I'll be open to criticizing that if it gets to that point.
But still, the game at a core level is just a lot more fun to interact with, from the combat, to the exploration, and to the story. Just a great time.

AITA for not telling a player why I'm dropping them from my table?
I am running a D&D game, and it has been going on for a few months. It was intended to be a short game an we only have a few weeks left. When I invited everyone to the game, it was with that knowledge, and with the pre-requisite that they are an experienced player. I established what kind of game it would be from the start.
This guy, Quinn (not irl name) said he met the requests and was excited to play. As we began, it became apparent he was incredibly inexperienced with D&D (not knowing what a proficiency bonus is, not understanding action vs bonus action, etc). All of the players and I were patient with him, and this wasn't a problem. But we did have to shorten goals in the game because he slowed down combat drastically. We were still on a set timeline. My only issue with this was that he lied to me from the beginning.
Many other things were red flags: him getting upset when players couldn't make a session (giving notice), but him showing up late to every session. Dominating rp and not being interested when it wasn't about him, not really listening to me as a DM (I am femme presenting), but listening to my partner (m) who I'm co-running the game with. We had tried to talk to him about issues in the past, and he was receptive and gently corrected his behavior.
Before this recent session, the players made a wild turn and we are rolling with it. But, due to this sudden change, another player asked if we could come back to those side adventures as a 2-3 shot later. I agreed. But Quinn then pushed for us extending the game as a whole. I was very firm that we were ending on the 10th, to respect other people's time. Later, a player had covid exposure, but ended up being negative after 5 days and tests, but I requested everyone wear masks anyway because we had all recently had more warnings of exposure. Everyone else preferred this, except him, who outright refused, and I told him he could call in instead and we'd set up a camera.
These last few things rubbed me the wrong way, so I asked all the other players privately how they were feeling, without goading them by expressing my gripes. It didn't want to start a hate train, only see where evryone was at. I was already of the mind that I would not have him back at my table after these sessions, but would finish out the game with him.
When my players reported back, I found out that Quinn had made the only female player feel incredibly uncomfortable, reaching out to her privately, relentlessly attempting to flirt with her character (which as always shut down by me or even another player). Additionally another player got back to me saying they were very uncomfortable because Quinn had been pressuring them to hang out outside of the game, and not taking "no" for an answer. Various other things were brought to my attention, but those two responses were what made me decide to remove him then and there.
I never spoke to the other players about what each of them had said, so some people were confused because, while they didn't like him much, they thought removing him was sudden.
Quinn blew up in a chat with me and the co-DM, demanding a reason. He messaged me privately with some aggressive claims that he deleted soon after. We called him that night to talk, and told him we'd offer his information to the other players should they want to reach out as friends. I only listened in on the phone call due to the agression in his messages to me.
On the phone, my partner simply explained to him he wass no longer a good fit, and we are doing what is best for our table and players. Quinn berated him for more information, targeting the content of his character and skills as a DM in order to get a reaction, but my partner just told him, "responses were kept private. I will not divulge any more information, but we will no longer have you at our able moving forward."
Quinn's behavior during the call only solidified that this was the right choice (saying we have god complexes, are alcoholics because we got drunk during one game, announcing he'd slander us to the community at the local game shop, reminding that he knows where we work as a veiled threat).
The thing Quinn kept pressing for was asking how he can correct his behavior if he doesn’t know what he did. But we refused to tell him because it would directly out some of our players, who we promised anonymity.
I know I'm not wrong for booting him from the table, but AITA for not explaining why so that Quinn can correct his behavior?
What are these acronyms?

You know, it makes sense that people don't trust Rhea or the Church… at first. The game does make them seem shady as hell at the beginning, and we're even told to be wary of Rhea. But when you take into consideration Verdant Wind, how Claude says that it's important to get to know people rather than cling to faulty first impressions, it really should be telling the player something there. That despite those initial impressions, you're the one leading the Church right now trying to save Rhea from a tyrant. Claude is realizing the Church and Rhea don't have to be his enemies, and when you look at Seteth's solo ending (minus the translation making him sound intolerant before) he works towards Claude's ideal regardless of route. Meanwhile, Claude is also figuring out how the Agarthans tried to feed him information to turn him against Rhea.
His power of friendship speech, him being willing to reach out to the Church in friendship, is the climax of his character growth. Rather than trying to use people like pieces on a chess board, he's willing to work legitimately with others. He finds out the truth about Rhea, and in his S support reveals that he views people relying on her (as they will with Byleth) as a good thing whereas before he believed that people could only rely on themselves. He learns that Rhea was one of the few survivors of her people being wiped out, having to hide the truth and even glorify the allies of the one who did it. He saw her as an outsider herself. Claude is also the one to point out that Rhea had people from not just from the countries at Fodlan but people from other countries, including having a woman from Dagda as one of her knights, at Garreg Mach as well as how the Church doesn't actually preach isolationism.
Claude's arc realizes he was wrong. That as an outsider, he came in and started making assumptions based on a lack of knowledge or being fed misleading information by the bad guys. Just like the player can be if they pick the Black Eagles class. It's why Byleth's flag, a symbol linking the route to Buddhism, is also present in Verdant Wind as it's the only route where Claude ultimately realized people were trying to manipulate him, so he didn't allow their narrative to guide his actions. It's CLAUDE'S enlightenment, as he wasn't tempted from the proper course of action. If he believes so strongly that people of other faiths should be accepted, he should be trying to help the Church against those attempting to wipe them out. And this path results in Claude not just fighting the person that the Agarthans used to commit genocide. Can't be any more "fuck racism" than that.
But instead of accepting all that, we have people who want Claude to kill Rhea, still believing that she's the cause of racism in Fodlan despite how Claude realizes that isn't the case. They want Claude to side with the person who flat out told him she can't leave Fodlan in his hands because he's not from Fodlan despite the translation making it sound like they hold the same beliefs (at least, until Claude grows out of them as part of his character arc). They like the version of Claude that says he could never be friends with Dimitri, despite Dimitri working to help the people of Duscur, and pisses off Sylvain when Sylvain would otherwise have worked to fix the issues with Streng. Instead of the Claude who knew the Empire wouldn't accept taking an L against the Alliance and returned with Almyran forces to stop another attempt by the Agarthans to take over, they want the Claude who seems confused people would be upset at him invading their countries and killing their families.
Verdant Wind, really, puts the Church into it's proper context. It looks suspect, it acts shady, but if you actually take the time and pay attention to the world… they're not the bad guys you were expecting them to be. No, they're the group the actual bad guys, the ones behind Fodlan's problems, wants to take out.
But instead, people don't want that story and insist Claude's delusional idiot self from Hopes is who he really is. Really, it's kinda telling how people reject his story because they don't want to change their mind in the face of the game's reveals. They can't accept the message of a game written for middle-schoolers.

"Good Girl"
Smutober Week 3
Prompt: In the car
Character: Roy Kent (Ted Lasso)
2.5k words
Warnings: Age gap (reader is university age, Roy is in his 40s), Dad's Friend trope, blowjob, praise kink maybe?
A/N: This one got away from me a bit because I looooove this premise for Roy. Enjoy! 😝
You kept your smile plastered on as your dad bragged about you for the millionth time that night. Here you were, surrounded by absolute football legends, and he felt like telling his former teammates all about what you were studying in uni was the most important thing in the world.
It sounded like a fun weekend when he invited you. One of his former teammates was inviting a bunch of people for a big party, a reunion of sorts, and your dad, an icon in his own right, invited you to join him. Wanted to show off his kid to his friends, he’d said. So, your Saturday night was spent shaking hands with famous footballers and pretending that it wasn’t embarrassing to hear your dad repeat your accomplishments over and over.
Just as you were debating asking him for the keys to drive back to the hotel most of the retired players were staying at, the sounds of shouting came from the side gate that led to the backyard party.
“He’s here! He’s there! He’s every-fucking-where!”
Heat flooded your body. Roy Kent. You spent your entire life hearing about the gruff footballer, all about how your father was one of the few people he actually liked, and how your father was incredibly proud of Roy’s career; he saw the man like a younger brother of sorts, although the two rarely got to see each other anymore. Although you never met, you’d harbored a crush on him for years, blushing every time your father mentioned him and putting up his poster in your bedroom.
And hell if he didn’t look good tonight. Black slacks that hugged his lower half beautifully, black button-down shirt that revealed that thick chest hair, and a smirk that had your mouth watering. As he shook someone’s hand, his eyes found yours. For a moment, his gaze flittered down your figure, eyebrows raising as he went.
Roy Kent was looking at you like he wanted to devour you.
Your breath became shallow as you quickly turned around, pretending to busy yourself with grabbing a drink. Although you’d initially been thrilled at the idea of finally meeting Roy Kent, actually seeing him- and seeing the scandalous way he looked at you- had you dreading the moment your dad would say-
“Roy! There you are!”
When you lifted your gaze, your father was giving Roy a one-armed hug, laughing as Roy embraced him back. He turned to you, pride shining on his face as he presented you like a prize. “Here she is, my pride and joy,” your dad announced.
Even with your dad right there, Roy couldn’t help the way his eyes flickered from your face to your body. Obviously, he knew who you were; your dad was incredibly proud of you and always managed to bring you up on the rare occasion they talked. And like all dads, he bragged about you being the most beautiful young woman in the world. But nothing could prepare Roy for the desire he felt as he stood in front of you, nor for the guilt that came with checking you out.
Instead of one of the dozen dirty little thoughts that sprinted through his mind, Roy simply shook your hand, wearing that wicked smile of his. “Nice to finally meet you. I have-” He cleared his throat. “-heard a lot about you.”
You couldn’t resist giving his hand a squeeze before letting go. “Heard a lot about you too,” you murmured. “Mostly from tabloids though,” you teased.
His dark chuckle had you pressing your thighs together. “Can’t believe everything you read,” he countered, something sparkling in those brown eyes.
Your dad’s friendly hand on your shoulder reminded you where you were. “But you can believe whatever you read about Roy Kent.” His voice was jovial, full of laughter, as if his old teammate wasn’t mentally undressing his daughter. “This man was quite the troublemaker way back when. I spent more time kicking his butt back in line than kicking the football.” He nodded to Roy. “Let’s get you a drink and sit, we’ve got some serious catching up to do, Roy-o.”
That’s how you ended up sitting at a table in the far corner of the yard next to Roy Kent, sipping your drink while you listened to him joke and reminisce with your dad across from you. Every time Roy laughed, his knee bumped yours, sending a jolt of electricity through your body each time. And you swore each time, he left his leg pressed to yours for longer periods before moving back into his space, slyly quirking his eyebrow at you each time.
Finally, your dad stood, announcing that he was grabbing another round. The moment he was gone, Roy turned to look at you, the corner of his mouth turning upwards.
“Shame we never met before,” he hummed, his eyes boldly exploring your body. “Your dad been hiding you from me or something?”
“Does he have reason to?” you countered, leaning towards him. “Is everything I read about you true, Mister Kent?”
His eyes flickered to your mouth before holding your gaze firmly. “Depends what you’ve read.” He glanced across the yard, making sure your dad was occupied with talking to someone else by the drinks. Satisfied, Roy leaned forward and brought his mouth close to your ear. “The curve? Down there?” he whispered, his breath tickling your skin. “Just something I do with my hips.”
You let out a quiet groan as he leaned back, smirk on his lips. “Do you give demonstrations?” you murmured, wondering where the hell your audacity came from. Probably from between your legs, if you were being honest.
Roy’s eyes lit up sinfully. But before he could give you an answer, your dad returned with drinks for everyone, none the wiser to the heat radiating between you and the Chelsea legend twenty years your senior. As if he hadn’t just told you about his famous dick, Roy returned to chatting with your father, all charm and innocence. This time, however, his fingers ghosted over your thigh under the table, tracing a hot trail on your bare skin.
After a couple more rounds and clandestine looks from Roy, your dad suggested that the two of you start heading back to the hotel. Your heart sank; you weren’t ready to leave the man sitting next to you.
Apparently, he wasn’t ready for you to leave either.
“Let the kid stay,” Roy suggested. “She’s young, she’s having a good time. Don’t make her be on your old man sleep schedule.” He winked at you playfully, an innocent gesture in your dad’s eyes. “I can take her back to the hotel with me when I leave.”
Your dad’s gaze shifted to your hopeful face. “Wanna stay?” When you nodded eagerly, he laughed and turned back to Roy. “Well, guess she’s staying. Take good care of her, alright, Kent?” He raised his eyebrows at his former teammate jokingly. “And behave. None of your usual nonsense.”
Roy pretended to look offended. “Don’t you trust me?” The innocence on his face contrasted deliciously with the way he flattened his palm on your thigh, fingers inching towards the hem of your dress.
“Absolutely not,” your dad laughed, blissfully unaware of the way Roy tugged your dress up ever so slightly. “You be a good boy, Kent, you hear?”
It was a fucking challenge, keeping a straight face as Roy’s fingertip found the edge of your panties. “Abso-fucking-lutely,” he lied. “Drive safe, alright mate?”
With an oblivious wave, your father was gone, clueless to the obscene thoughts Roy Kent was having about his precious daughter. Roy turned to look at you, face darkened with lust as he toyed with the quickly dampening material of your underwear.
“I notice he didn’t tell you to behave,” he purred. “Are you always a good girl, then?”
Desperate to look cool in front of the most tempting man you’d ever met, you simply leaned your elbow on the table, helping him hide the way he played under your dress. “Oh, of course,” you said in a syruopy voice. “I always respect my elders, Roy.”
“What happened to Mister Kent?” He chuckled. “Your daddy leaves, and you suddenly forget your manners, young lady?”
“Guess I did,” you sighed dramatically, as if you weren’t imaging what you’d look like beneath him. “You going to remind me of my manners, Mister Kent?”
He let out a soft growl and glanced around. “Don’t think I can do that here,” he murmured. He cleared his throat and leaned back, taking his hand back, leaving you with a pout on your lips. “Finish your drink. We can… go for a drive.”
As you sipped your drink, trying not to appear too eager, you watched Roy out of the corner of your eye. He was gazing at you hungrily. If you saw that wolfish look on another man’s face, you’d be walking away as quickly as possible. But because it was Roy fucking Kent looking at you like he wanted to bend you over the plastic table you sat at, you batted your eyelashes and showed him your now-empty cup.
With a curt nod, Roy stood. “Let’s go.”
He tossed you the keys, mumbling something about saying goodbye to the hosts. You made your way out of the yard, mumbling goodbyes to your father’s friends, men you’d known forever, either personally or through stories and photos. Finally, you left the party behind, walking briskly towards the street. You pressed the button on Roy’s key, revealing the location of his car, a giant, black vehicle that you climbed inside.
You nearly jumped out of your skin when Roy abruptly opened the driver’s side door and climbed in; the amused grin on his face told you he noticed. “Did I fucking scare you?” he teased as he started the car.
“Only a little.” Partly thanks to the alcohol, partly thanks to the darkness of the car, you felt emboldened to place your hand on his thigh, holding back a moan when you felt the flexed muscle through his trousers.
He fucking squirmed.
“How’s school?” he asked, eyes on the road as he gripped the steering wheel. “Your dad said you were, uh, studying…” His eyes flickered to your hand as it travelled further up his thigh. “Studying…”
You knew your grin was absolutely smug as you inched towards the growing bulge in his pants. “Alright there, Mister Kent?”
“Fucking hell,” he breathed. He was rapidly losing the upper hand and didn’t care one bit. “Thought you were a good girl?”
“I think I’m being a very good girl,” you teased, wrapping your hand around his clothed length. “Wouldn’t you agree?”
A growl escaped his throat. “I think,” he started slowly, his voice thick with desire, “that you are going to cause a fucking car accident, you menace.”
You giggled and began stroking him through his pants. “Guess you better hurry up and get us to the hotel, hmm?” Watching him press his body harshly against his seat had you wriggling in your own seat. And feeling how hard- how thick- Roy Kent was definitely had you making a mess in the panties he’d been playing with earlier.
“Oh fuck this.”
With a jerk of the steering wheel, Roy made a sharp turn, one that had your seatbelt digging into your skin. He swiftly found a secluded parking spot at the end of a dark, empty street and turned off the car. He turned on you, seizing your wrist, freezing your hand mid-stroke.
“Are you done playing around?” he growled. “Done teasing me?” He raised his eyebrows. “Are you just making a fool out of an old man, or are you going to fucking do something?”
Your entire body trembled with anticipation. “What did you have in mind?”
With a devilish smirk, Roy released your wrist; the delicious sound of a zipper hit your ears. After a moment of wriggling down his pants and boxers, Roy grabbed you gently by your hair and eased your face to his hard cock. Feeling dirty and greedy, you parted your lips, groaning as you welcomed him into your eager mouth.
The car was filled with the sounds of Roy’s growling moans, your muffled whines, and the sloppy wet sound of you swirling his cock with your tongue. Roy kept his grip on your hair, pulling it back so he could watch you in the moonlight.
“Guess you are a good girl,” he grunted. “A very fucking good girl.”
He lifted his hips, thrusting into your mouth. When his tip hit the back of your throat, you couldn’t help but reach down between your legs to rub your clit through your soaked panties. How many times had you touched yourself like this as you imagined Roy Kent and his gorgeous cock? Here, in this monstrous black car, you were living your wildest sexual fantasies. And fuck, when you felt him throb against your tongue, you felt sure you’d wake up from this dream at any moment.
Roy let out a shuddering breath when you used your free hand to stroke the part of him that didn’t fit in your mouth. “This what they’re teaching you at uni?” he taunted. “How to suck cock?” A lewd moan slipped past his lips. “Because you’re way too fucking good at this for a good girl.”
You pulled off of him with a pop, catching your breath as you lapped at his tip, tasting his delicious precum. He dropped his head back against the headrest with a content sigh, stroking your hair softly. When you let your tongue glide down the vein on the side of his shaft, he twitched in your hand, leaking more precum that you quickly sucked up.
Still feeling greedy, you wrapped your lips around him again, moaning around him when he bucked up into your mouth. He tightened his grip on your hair, giving a harsh tug, as he continued to drive up into your drooling mouth, loving the sound of your muffled gags and moans.
“Does my good girl want a fucking treat?” he huffed with a particularly severe thrust. “Gonna come in your mouth, pretty thing.”
His hips stuttered as your mouth filled with his salty release, warm and satisfying all the way down your throat. You hollowed your cheeks, sucking and swallowing every last bit, savoring your reward, your treat.
Roy gave a rough tug, pulling you off of him. You gazed at him, eyes wide and wild, slobber running down your chin, lips shiny and swollen.
Fuck, he thought you looked beautiful.
“Did so well for me,” Roy cooed, wiping the drool off your lower lip. “Think you could let me drive back to the hotel in peace now, hmm?” With a tight grip on your face, he pressed a harsh kiss to your mouth, tangling his tongue with yours.
You pulled back breathlessly, nodding. “Only if you take me back to your room,” you whispered. “Fucking fucking want more of you.”

i understand and really enjoy the transfem kris vision but i also worry that it's somewhat enbyphobic.. like amab trans kris makes A Lot Of Sense (they seem to present more androgynous instead of fem but the general understanding im getting is that tfem kris = amab trans kris)
but isn't it also kind of misgendering as well? because kris being they/them nonbinary specifically is a thing the game has gone out of its way to emphasize repeatedly, and saying they're going to grow up to be a she/they woman or that they're just hiding/ignoring the fact that they're transfem feels no different from the people who insist kris is up to the player's interpretation (read: male because "men are the default") in that it ignores the canonical nonbinary representation. i think the "breaking out of a man's world" reading works just as well if they're they/them nonbinary with no elaboration
(i say no elaboration because tbh as a nonbinary person i get most like me dislike speculation on what a nonbinary's agab is, both real people and characters, because it's generally trying to sort them into "girl nonbinary" vs "boy nonbinary" instead of acknowledging their experience as not just being a girl or a boy)
(additionally I don't think kris is boymoding they seem to solidly be nonbinary? as the idea that they're pretending to be a man, or that they're going to change to a woman or hiding the fact that they're woman-aligned is kind of offensive because it plays into the idea that being nonbinary is a phase or an inbetween state not a real gender)
sorry for bad english it's not my native language. and sorry if i said anything offensive, feel free to tell me if i'm wrong and where i'm just trying to understand since there's been a lot of misgendering of kris recently and i'm a bit paranoid :') sending this ask to you because you seem to be an expert on kris as well as the transfem interpretation
Ok I feel like this ask was meant well but a lot of the stuff in here is really transmisogynist. For one, I certainly wouldn't call myself an expert, because while I do love some good media analysis my personal experience as a pretty cut and dry (trans) woman, and a straight one at that, certainly hinder my analysis in this instance. However to actually respond to your points, I never said anything about Kris being a woman (nor have I seen anyone else who thinks Kris is transfem say that either), and importantly, someone can be a woman, use she/they, and still be non-binary. None of those traits are contradictory. I don't even think Kris has to (or will, honestly) use she pronouns at any point, but even if they did that wouldn't make them suddenly not non-binary.
And also I'm sorry but AGAB is actually very very important when telling trans stories of all kinds including non-binary ones because gender assignment is the primary means by which the gender binary is maintained and enforced. Being real, it's the very thing transness is defined against, without that binary and gender assignment to enforce it, the transgender identity (as we currently understand it) wouldn't really exist! And that's not a bad thing, that doesn't mean trans people aren't real, just that we as people are necessarily products of the environment we came up in (something that's patently obvious in all other areas of life as well).
So like, bottom line, if you're creating a protagonist whose whole narrative purpose is to draw a line between them and the player by giving them an actual detailed life beforehand and their own goals and motivations, and that character is trans, then I would argue giving them an actual concrete history that required them to CHOOSE to transition, that we actually see/hear of, would be much much more impactful then leaving it vague and undefined just so people can project their own experiences onto them. This isn't sorting a character into "girl nonbinary" or "boy nonbinary" it's acknowledging that they have their own history separate from the players POV in which they chose to adopt an identity contrary to their birth assignment!
And in all honesty, if that ISN'T done, if it is left vague, I think Kris will be worse enby representation because of it! If you can't be bothered to actually represent the lived experiences of the demographic you're "representing" then does it really qualify as such at all??? This is my core issue with a lot of enby rep that comes in more fantastical forms like robots or aliens, because most of them end up being effectively cisgender non-binary (their chosen gender matches with their birth assignment), which isn't a thing that happens in real life!
Anyway, to your last point, I wore the same outfit for several years straight even after realizing I was trans and coming out because I lacked any and all confidence in myself. Presentation can be deceiving. I'm not even saying that Kris wants to present differently but doesn't feel able, just that they COULD, and that's why I made that joke (which was not meant at all seriously or as an actual read of Kris' character).
#god#sorry anon i know you mean well but this is a Bad Bad ask#anon look away im about to be bitchy and uncharitable for a few tags#but wow really its crazy to take a few jokes made by a trans woman and take them completely seriously#in the most bad faith way possible and spiral that into a whole ask#the central tenent of which being that transfemininity is incompatible with enbyness#and then also automatically assuming im an expert on a topic because i reblogged a couple posts about it!!!!!!!!#like god damn!!!!!!!!!!#ok bitchy aside over#anyway not maintagging this because i know ill get heat for being too transfeminism-pilled#original content™#utdr.gnar#<- organizational tag#guess thats the format im going with now#gnarly asks

Love and Deepspace Sylus babbling:
Because of reasons (I’m idly deciding a reading order for all those Sylus intro cards that were released all at once - and btw it’s not easy), I’m going back through some forum discussions that were happening shortly after Sylus was introduced to the game.
It’s interesting to me to see that a good chunk of the audience did not understand and/or like No Defence Zone when it was initially released. They did not like that it shows Sylus in a submissive situation, did not understand how he can behave the way he normally does but then be in a situation like this, (I think they have a serious misunderstanding of D/s roles and the stereotypical behaviour associated with it) they explained it away by saying it was a dream so it’s made up and never happened and doesn’t matter, it makes more of statement about MC than it does about Sylus. (Why would the first limited card released for the character not be about introducing something crucial about his personality?…) Etc.
I find this reaction incredibly interesting. It’s interesting that this chunk of the audience was hoping this character would fill some kind of stereotype they already had and liked in their head, and when confronted with a narrative that didn’t match what they expected, they figured out a way to just disregard the information. I know some folks will have a preference for a love interest that takes charge, which is fine, but I also know it’s pretty clear that, despite his arrogant front, this is absolutely not what Sylus desires from MC. To me, I think it’s what makes Sylus interesting, infinitely more interesting than some basic stereotyped otome dom. (Boring. There’s a million of those.) This is also fine. Not every character has to appeal to every audience member.
Sure. The card literally is just a dream that MC has that did not literally actually happen in real life… but it’s a dream she has after an entire card that IS a real life actual discussion about how to tame animals, it’s a dream that he appears to be aware of or perhaps even directly participated in, and it was presented as the first limited card to introduce players to this character. For someone to look at that and shrug and say myeh, it doesn’t match what I was expecting therefore I think it doesn’t matter, that’s… pretty wild to me. To me this is the whole central theme of his character, and always has been. Like it’s one thing to say, this isn’t really appealing to me, I don’t really like a character that wants MC to take charge in this way. Totally valid! But…. This isn’t really appealing to me, therefore I will ignore the bits I don’t like and construct something that matches my preferences better… ? You do you I guess, but…
I dunno, I don’t super get it.
I wonder if the viewpoint of these people has changed at all over time, with the content that’s come out since then, where Sylus has repeated, over and over and over, that he likes when MC takes over, challenges him, and bosses him around, and when he has very specifically talked several times about MC taming him. I do worry just a little bit that this game has such interesting writing, and takes really tired (like guys SO EXTREMELY TIRED) otome tropes and gives them all a fresh spin, these folks are really actually trying to think of content and write it well instead of just pumping out crap for players to spend their money on, I appreciate it so much, but I feel like this nuanced writing does not properly engage a good chunk of the audience.
Anyway. It’s just interesting. That’s all. It’s interesting to go through these early discussions and how many people have had to completely disregard and explain away the card, instead of accepting that it was presented as a character intro and probably has important information in it. Just interesting.
(Goddammit when are they rerunning that card)

Hi there! Could I get Campbell Saunders x gem reader headcanons where instead of getting back with Maya after she kisses Zig, he breaks up with her officially and he gets with the reader instead and they’re just super fluffy and maybe she helps him with his mental health? She encourages him to quit hockey since it’s making him unhappy and to instead play basketball since he liked it. Just an overview of them having an actual overview of their supportive and loving relationship! Thank you — 🪼🫧✨
Hello there! And of course you can! I must say, I paused re-watching Degrassi so I could be a bit rusty in Campbells Character. Please have mercy with me! >~< Fandom: Degrassi Characters: Campbell Saunders, Reader, Mentions of Maya and Zig Warnings: Mention of mental health issues, a bit swearing and angst, fluuuff~
Cam was SO disappointed in Maya, when she told him that she kissed Zig but he felt like he couldn't really be mad at her, seeing how he behaved before.
good thing, his best friend was next to him and went off on Maya for him.
"Cam may could have behaved differently, that is right, but you! You kissed someone else! That is cheating plus it was your best friends boyfriend?! Who does that?! Cam has every fucking right to be disappointed!" Said boy was flabbergasted at the outbreak of his best friend. Not only him but all present people. He let himself get dragged away from the Scene, Maya calling out to him but Cam didn't hear it.
It took a long and intense talk and many snacks with Cam to assure him it is okay to feel how he does right now
He wanted to reconcile with Maya at first but the conversation with you made him reconsider, thinking that maybe it was better to not go back.
Maya tried to win him back for a few weeks with Zig trying to get her all the while Tori was furious wit both of them
In the meantime, you and Cam got even closer then before as in, the shy boy actually got every ounce of bravery together to ask you out! Of course you said yes, duh!
Cam waspacing the hallway up and down, mumbling something under his breath while Tori watched him doing so. "Just...do it! I bet you won't get rejected!" His steps came to a stop and he looked at Tori with an incredulous look. The boy was nervous, more nervous than he was before any Hockey game. "But...what if I do get rejected? I would destroy or friendship! Maybe we won't ever talk again and" "Aaallright. Stop! This won't happen. I am absolutely sure about that!" "You are sure about what?" Cam spinned around so fast he almost tripped over his own feat when you popped up behind them both. "Nothing!" Tori rolled her eyes befor giving Cam a soft nudge with an encouragin smile before she said goodbye and left. You thought it was weird how she just left. "I am sorry, did I interrupted-" "Wilyougooutwithme?!" You blinked slowly, once, twice. Trying to process what Cam asked you before your cheeks started to get warmer. The hockeyplayer was almost sure you would reject him efore you smiled brightly at him. "Of course!" A weight was lifted from Cams heart and the boy smiled as brightly as you.
Cam started to open up to you and you realised the boy has problems that should be taken serious
So you started to actively help Cam an you started by getting him out of this damn Hockey Team that was everthing that good for him
"I can't! They need me and you know that! I am the best player on the team!" A sigh left your lips at how stubborn Cam was. He was indeed right but you can see how bad it was for him. "I know and you are! But Cam, these people aren't good for you! Look at how they are! You aren't like that! You are so much better than these Jerks!" Cam opens his mouth as if wanting to say something but nothing came out. He was defeated, easily by you. He coulder never go against you even less when you take his hand in yours and look at him with those lovely eyes of yours. Oh shoot! He is starring again!
It was hard, at the beginning to not be the perfect Cam anymore. To no be a member of the Hockey Players and all but you could easily see how much better off Cam was.
Cam was still a bit awkward but he cheered up so much without the his Teammates pressuring him and all that.
His mental health was, of course, not magically cured and the problems are still there but it was hard for Cam to come to terms that he was, in fact, not healthy.
You had many conversations with him about his mental health. You are no doctor so you can't say for sure what is wrong but you know there was something.
Cam didn't liked to talk about it and at first he sometimes blocked conversation fully.
But you still stayed at his side and encouraged him to try out therapy.
Cam was so scared. He was glad when you offered to accompany him.
You not only brought him there, he wanted you to sit with in. Seeing that you are his biggest support he really needed you there.
He hold your hand so tightly, he apologized afterwards for it.
Cam is so gratefull for you, in everyway.
You helped him get out of the Hockey team, supporte him from start to now with his journey on getting better with his mental health, you have so much patience and what not. He could talk about you from dawn to dusk. In short, he loves you much more than anyone else.
I hope you like it!

So a friend reblogging this interview tips post, which is a perfectly fine post with advice that is useful or whatever.
But I desperately need hiring managers to stop acting like the livelihood and continued survival of their interviewees is "playing the game." It's not a game; it has never been a game. It's people's survival. Our lives.
I understand that to management it's about showing team spirit. But to everyone else, management just said that I need to buy new clothes if I even want to be considered a meritorious applicant, regardless of my skills, experience and attitude.
Because every single thing I own is "ratty." That is to say, it is worn out, thread bared, and has stains/rips embroidered over. That's what being a poor person looks like.
"Oh just spend $20 on a shirt and pants."
I'm also fat. Button down shirts that won't be an Obscenity charge are $40. Pants are $60. I have 37 dollars to my name and I still have to buy medicine and shelter.
And remember: this expense is for the lottery chance that I may get hired. It is NOT an expectation presented AFTER an offer.
I get to pay for new clothes for russian roulette.
I should spend everything I have and more to buy one outfit for interviews and really, really hope that this time I get the job. Even though interviews are notoriously biased against fat people, POC, queer people, and women.
Management also just said I need to prove that I know about the company atmosphere from personal, unpaid, off the clock research above and beyond the application and interview process.
That I should self teach, BEFORE so much as an offer is made.
Meanwhile literally hundreds of my applications are thrown away on a weekly basis (I do about 15 applications a day most week days, and have been for multiple years now). The reasons for this are varied. Sometimes its because my name sounds too ethnic (I've had so many interviewers compliment me for not being Black which they thought based on my name). Sometimes they think I'm over qualified for every single job within 55 miles of me, as though having a college degree means I can photosynthesize instead of needing a home.
Often it's simply because companies lie all the time about whether they are actually hiring, posting dozens of fake job listings. That way they can tell their overworked and underpaid staff, "Oh, the reason you have 3 doubles a week is because of all those lazy unemployed assholes that don't want to work."
The fact that there is a "game" where the loser may become homeless or dead at all is deranged. The fact that the losing players all have to smile, and cheer, and cooingly tell the winners what a Good, Good Job they did is significantly more disgusting.
And let me be clear: the OP of that post is a hiring manager. That shit about "ratty clothes" is entirely under the hiring manager's opinion. There's no way to know what a given hiring manager thinks of your clothes, though if you're visibly poor, fat, or nonwhite chances are they would think you look unkempt in a full 3 piece suit with garters.
That shit about "show me you did independent unpaid labour to prove your loyalty to a company that isn't even hiring you yet" is ALSO under the manager's absolute judgment. You have NO way of knowing what stupid tidbits of information are the "right" ones to recite. You could memorize every piece of information that company has ever published and you STILL would not know which trivia is the Right Answer.
Same with the "ask me a question" shit.
There is no right answer. Interviews don't check for skills, abilities, experience, or even team cohesion.
They are vibe checks. They exist to give hiring managers a way to disqualify IMMENSELY qualified candidates over their own unexamined bigotries.
And btw? We have the science to prove it. It's called "implicit bias."
If you have an accent, are fat, aren't white, are visibly disabled or queer in any way, etc? Your inability to get a job is not because you "didn't play the game."
It's because the "game" was rigged to fuck you over from the start.

4, 9 and 16 for the rook and LI questions!
HI <3
4. Do your Rook and their partner share the same faction? If so, does that affect their relationship at all? If not, what is your Rook's opinion of their partner's faction? What is the partner's opinion of Rook's faction?
They don't, Ellie's a Mourn Watcher, Harding's been employee of the months for twentyforty years straight in the Inquisition. I think that between the two she's the most interested in her partner's opinion, but it doesn't have a huge impact on their relationship, or is the cause of arguments
Ellie hasn't the best opinion of the Inquisition. In one hand, there's Harding painting everything in pink, on the other hand he knows that you can never idolize very prominent political organizations, especially if the top of the ladder is constituted by an orlesian bard, an ex templar who worked by Meredith's side, the one who gave the order to stand back when the Empress of Orlais was murdered, and the most terrifying creature of the six (?) seas. But he's like that with every political faction; you can't get competitive with the other parties and stay active for so long without dirtying your hands. This is what he tells Harding and she does get it, considering that she's one of those trusted few that was allowed in the war room during specific discussions
Depending on what I've seen in game, she's nothing short than accepting towards the MW. Sometimes there's creepy business, and they tend to act extra brainy on very sensitive topics, but overall they're just a bunch of nerds with a secret society vibe. Which is very surface level knowledge of their inner workings, but Ellie refuses to disclose some of the secrets he stumbled upon throughout the years and she has the decency to avoid asking.
She knows a lot to be interested, but not invested. Still supportive tho
9. Does your Rook bring them out often? How are they like on the battlefield? Do they banter much?
They bring each other out often, actually! Sometimes it's a "let's cross a random Eluvian and see what's up" situation, other times they just go for a stroll and talk about nothings. I think that their ideal date is more of eating fried food on top of a roof after a criminal chase rather than getting a table at some fancy restaurant and challenge themselves to sit still for hours :'D
On the battlefield Ellie is the most impulsive, also he's not the best team player so he relies on Harding's vision of ensemble. I think she's good at describing the battlefield and delivers the informations to her companions, Ellie in primis
He always says "We're going to be fine, Harding's behind us <3" but he always makes sure she doesn't feel the pressure of being always there and always present
She's the vision, he's, um, Grond. A very fragile Grond tho
The banter is very insufferable, because they're horrible flirts <<' wait until they start showing their scars to each other
16. How did your Rook react to getting trapped in the Fade and separated from their partner?
"She's going to hit me, isn't she"
On a more serious note, he's not one that panics. Instead, he was very curious about his surroundings and how the prison would present his regrets to him. He already went through a Harrowing, he knows how things works; you just have to confute whatever comes at your way. He held a "bring it on" attitude, basically
He had zero time to think about separation because he's not that dependant on her? Don't get me wrong, he relies on her a lot, but the time he's spent there was so short and busy that he couldn't stop and reflect on what was going on outside the prison
-
El Memo
#ask memes#dav spoilers#rooklace#ellero ingellvar#lace harding#when I say 'painting in pink' I'm not saying that she's naive#it's more of a 'I contributed to that and what we did has mattered' shade of pink#in my head she's the most disappointed when ankh disbands the inquisition but she gets it and agrees w the reasons behind such decision#...now to find a number you didn't get already lmao

Monster Never Cry

Been a while, huh? I’m back for another Monster Girl review, I feel this time more than any other I need to introduce what I’m reviewing
Monster Never Cry is a Gacha game whose premise is you are the recently defeated Demon Lord, tasked with rebuilding her army and retaliating against the warriors who got you. There’s also a weird meta aspect to it where the whole thing is an MMO, but it’s a mobile game. Who’s playing this for the story? Nah, like most mobile game players, I’m here for the PNGs. Like actually, I would never have given this game a shot if not for the whole monster thing. We got a lot of monsters to cover this time, I’m reviewing every fem presenting monster available in this game, so I’ll be going through each entry quickly.
Coronis
So she’s like an archer crow lady? Not really a monster is she? That artwork doesn’t really do her favors, but the alt skin looks pretty nice.
Lilith
Not exactly an original idea but it’s executed pretty well here. Rich fancy vampire princess, what else can I say?
Sadora
This design is great, among my favorite in the whole game. It’s a shame it’s stuck on a mid tier monster, in terms of gameplay. Creepy animated dolls are what got me to try out Bloodborne, we don’t see enough of them and this one is among the best I’ve seen.
Undine
I think she’s a water elemental or a minor deity or something. It conveys that idea well enough, and the harp angle is interesting but it’s just not really for me.
This does give me the opportunity to address what I’ve referred to in the past as the “paint her blue” problem. Monsters in this game have a small chance to be shiny like in Pokémon, and in many cases the shiny has a more human skin tone. I previously expressed distaste for this trope but this game’s monsters make me reconsider my opinion.
Sylph
This game has a few plant girls and they all have the same problem, they’re all pretty much just girls with plant bits on them. This one’s pretty good though, and I like the Mario reference in her shiny, intentional or not.
Oul
I think this one’s supposed to be a Djinn? Her title implies she’s some sort of mage and in game she acts like a merchant, so I’m not sure. The design is pretty busy, and I think the shiny should have been the default. Something about Genie girls with purple hair just feels right, couldn’t tell you why.
Unrelated, I’m real excited for Risky Revolution. It’s crazy that it’s actually getting made now.
Arachne
Basic spider girl, and it’s not really trying to be anything else. It’s pretty good for what it is, though I wish they’d committed to giving her extra eyes instead of those weird red patches.
Gurnius
For a mid tier monster her design is very busy. You see a design like this and immediately think it’s gonna be a rare strong monster, that’s not just me right?
Daisy
The one exception to the weak plant girl designs in this game, and it’s on a low tier monster. Cactus cowgirl is way too good an idea to waste on a low tier in my opinion.
Siren
I think she’s a forest nymph? It’s a fun design, if a bit basic. Butterfly-winged forest fairy ladies are kinda a dime a dozen so I don’t have strong opinions.
Why is her name Siren though?
Rabby
“Boxing Champion”.
It’s a good rabbit girl design, though I’m obligated to point out: That’s not a monster, it’s just anthro.
Pania
“Forest Priest” is about as helpful as “Boxing Champion”, though it at least gives us a habitat. My headcanon is she’s a Duende. It’s a passable design, cute little girl stands out in this game.
Sarcophagurl
Another Frankenstein girl has appeared in this series, and honestly? I like this one a lot. The eyeball theme is a bit incongruous.
...“Mech Maiden”? In what way?
Vespa
I think she’s supposed to be a succubus, which is kinda funny as she’s one of the least malegaze-y designs in this game. The alt skin amends this, and considering Succubi are sex demons honestly I think it’s fine. Pretty good design, all things considered.
Zenobia
Dragon Girl with a sleek design. The outfit here is an absolute disaster but if she was wearing full armor or even a t-shirt and khakis she would be completely fine, pretty good even.
The human skintone on the shiny makes me uncomfortable, probably because it accents just how awful that outfit is.
Octasia
I’m not sure what she’s supposed to be. I guess she’s like Ursula from Disney’s The Little Mermaid? So she’s a Mermaid? Mixing vertebrate and invertebrate features is always a risk in my opinion and I don’t think it works here.
Medusa
Like straight up? This game’s also got “Dracula” so I guess so. Another otherwise good design ruined (in my opinion) by a weird outfit. I do really like how this game does animals though, with those Rareware-style googly eyes. It really helps this game’s designs stand out where they show up.
Palaeophis
Another Mermaid, assuming Octasia is, in fact, a mermaid. This one’s name shoulda been Siren. Mostly naked is par for the course for Mermaids so I can’t really fault this design for that, but I will once again complain about it being busy. Weird for a design with almost no clothes.
Kukulkan
That Mesoamerican deity is eating a girl. That’s brutal.
Jokes aside I would like this design drastically more if the girl aspect was removed and it was just the winged serpent part.
Nafisa
This design scratches the same part of my brain as Aigis from Persona. Not really sure what’s up with that floating head but I can’t help but like this one. Creepy doll girls, I’m telling you.
Mischa
Pretty good design for a Beegirl, but once again, that’s not a monster, that’s just anthro. Hold on, why is the Succubus named Vespa and not the literal Vespid?
Venus
It would’ve made more sense if Sylph, the man-eating plant girl, was named Venus, as most man-eating plants are styled after Venus Flytraps. It still works for a thorn girl, but the same issue Sylph had is present here. She’s got thorns and flowers coming out of her but she is essentially just a girl.
Kurarith
Anthro Jellyfish girl. Mixing Vertebrate and Invertebrate features like Octasia. Just like with Kukulkan she’s kinda just a girl attached to a monster, and like Zenobia she’s got a stupid outfit. Really a showcase of every design decision I don’t like this game has made, but interpreted instead as a jellyfish themed outfit it’s actually not bad.
Tarani
This character has not been added to the game yet and I cannot begin to guess what kind of monster she’s even supposed to be. Maybe a Satyr? Angelic Beast? Dragon Girl? This one’s just bad, sorry. I hope they reconsider the direction they’re taking these designs in.
The Demon Lord
Arachne was just A Spider Girl, The Demon Lord is THE Spider Girl. Kinda an interesting choice to make the leader of the Monster Forces a spider. It’s an alright enough design, reminiscent of Kumoko from So I’m A Spider, So What?, specifically in how a girl pops out of the spider’s head eventually. Didn’t like it there and I’m not huge on it here either, though the girl pops out pretty early here and replaces the spider’s head.
I’m overall kinda surprised at the quality of the designs here, even when the designs are weak there’s usually at least a good idea in there. Is it worth putting up with a Gacha game for? Probably not, though I think I’m gonna stick around at least just to see what new characters they add.

Got some more for tonight :D
1: what do they want to be when they grow up besides superheroes? I can see them following in their father’s footsteps and becoming a police officer (if Jake doesn’t become a pro basketball player) and a reporter for Chris.
2: if there is a cartoon or live action movie/show, who do you want to voice/act as them?
3: you mention in a earlier post saying Chris likes invincible and him and his dad are like invincible and Omni man, does he get PTSD from watching/reading the parts where Omni man beats up mark?
4: speaking of invincible, has the duo been in brutal fights similar to the comic/show?
5: what’s the funniest thing they ever heard or saw?
6: what does the boys like to do with their own family members? like Jake and Jason might practice shooting guns and Chris and Clark flies to Jupiter.
7: do they cuddle when they’re watching a movie or show? Like laying against each other or sitting in one’s lap and wrapping them with arms.
1. While for Chris I can see him become an investigative journalist for a smaller newspaper/news website, I think Jake would lean instead on being an athletics/acrobatics teacher, primarily in a school that doesn’t receive as much attention from the boards or the State. Given his family history in the trapeze and his hobby of basketball, I can see those sports being his professions he’d be teaching to the students. That of course is balanced by duties he has as a technical Prince of Tamaran.
2. For an animated series, I hear Chris being voiced an actual voice actor whose about that age as Chris is in story. For an example of this being done well, look at the performances of the voice actors they had for Gumball Watterson from the titular Amazing World of Gumball.
Now as for Jake, while I’d ideally take something of a similar approach for him as with Chris (after all both Gumball and Darwin were voiced by actors who were their age), an alternative can have Jake being voiced by actress Colleen Clinkenbeard, best known for her dubbing work on One Piece and Dragon Ball Kai. Similarly if we are left with no other choice but a more experienced voice actor for Chris, I picture either Grey Delise Griffin (she’s known for quite an extensive library) or Pamela Hayden (best known for being the voice of Milhouse from the Simpsons)
And yes I do realize for the options presented there’s that old saying in show business “Never Work With Children or Animals” so it’s not like I didn’t take that into consideration, hence the alternatives lol
3. Oh me oh my that’s a guaranteed yes. Very very VERY bad flashbacks come flooding right back to Chris with each and every blow Nolan pounds his own son. Though a lot of that shock was already happening prior to that moment; what truly broke Chris even before the climactic beat down was the subway train scene….Chris had to pause the episode and head to the bathroom to empty out his lunch and only came back to finish the episode about 15 minutes later.
Needless to say, even if he does stick all the way to the ending, it was very rough watch given the similarities between Nolan and Zod. Though one tiny detail did get to Chris beyond that malaise of trauma and shock….Nolan actively regretting his decisions and outright turning away from his own wicked ways once Mark said his fateful words, a single tear coming down Nolan when he realized what he’d truly done. It gave Chris a very very tiny glimmer of hope; if Nolan can realize what he did was wrong…maybe even his birth father can as well. It was very faint hope but hope all the same.
4. Oh…oh HO HO HO. Yes they would have, my friend. Whether it’s via Zsasz, a visiting Mongul, Zod himself or a plethora of other villains that match the Duo’s power levels or even below them in Zsasz’s case. Maybe it’s not a frequent issue, but battles that had landed Chris and Jake in the hospital has precedence and history. Thank goodness for their healing factors and the amount of work from both Dr Thompkins and the Fortress of Solitude’s healing matrix.
5. Probably that one time they saw Hawkman and Guy Gardner utterly fail at their job for watch duty at the Hall of Justice’s kitchen, allowing their siblings Mar’i and Jon to sneak out some snacks without those two noticing.
And the time also Milagro was training alongside Tai by Jessica and Stewart. They were given the instruction of “Think of a Big Dog” for a construct. Tai created a Full Grown Husky construct while Milagro instead created a 40 story tall Xolo Puppy construct. At least it looked big for them
6. Well I can guarantee you that Dick will notice if Jason does that with either of his kids and oh boy he wouldn’t like it, not one bit at all. So Jason would have to work with substituting those cannons with water squirts instead.
Besides out of the other Robins and Batgirls, Jake himself prefers hanging out with his Uncle Tim far more often, doing a whole bunch together. Among Jake’s favorites being the two visiting a nearby Bono N’ Stomp and both of them going into the ball pit. Tim has a ton of fun since no matter what, essentially he’s a more or less a big kid himself.
Now for Chris, it won’t be just with Clark that’ll accompany him in space flights. Often times both Krypto and Jon join along with them, from there the three can do play some catch on the Moon, take small sight seeing across the entire world from the Effiel Tower in Paris, The Taj Mahal in India, The entire city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, etc. just generally exploring the world and the stars all around them.
When not doing that, then Clark joins with Chris and Jon in guitar jam sessions in the barn and/or board games.
7. If you ask Chris, all he’d do is point a finger at Jake with a soft smirk as the latter is cuddle and comfy incarnate when they have movie time during sleepovers. It’s a trait beyond doubt both Mar’i and him have inherited from their mother and if they do notice it, they’re all too proud of it. Most commonly in Jake’s case, he’d lay down opposite to Chris, so that he lays his head down on one side of the couch’s arms while Chris lays down in the other.
These asks are much appreciated my friend @gothicghost2000 . Thanks a plenty 😊
