IruClarAzz Master Post Part 15

Just collecting all of the cuteness of the Love Trio and adding my commentary. Spoilers ahead very current with the manga. So Irumas making a weird face as Clara signs her um property

I think a Lot of kinks are getting unlocked for Iruma in this arc. Um anyway Clara leaves to do school stuff. So they escape.

Azz makes an interesting note and this is true, this isnt really what she wants.

Iruma recalls how Ameri's personality change was stuck due to her own desires so they start going deeper into Clara's mind to figure it out. And this is so Clara love that both are not allowed.

They know Clara too well they know its real.

So while they go further in Clara's mind we get another Irumas Army mentioned

Side note Clara's appeal in her evil cycle gets to her classmates too. But again she wants all three to be together no matter what.

Anyway back to Clara's space, they have to answer a Clara quiz to move forward. I love that they answer at the same time.

They are brought into a room of her favorite tings. It's filled with things they did together. Also Iruma and Azz are on the same level as her family.

More questions and again same time.

This room is filled with her regrets and guilt. and the two are so embarrassed.

Side note I am trying to do my best to not put the entire chapters cause dear god.

Anyway this room is filled with memories, meeting iruma and azz is one of her most important. The two are very touched.

I love how they look to each other cause they know. But also I don't think its an accident that for the first time Iruma and Azz are separated in clara's mind. You can't say she just associates Azz with Iruma he has is own place in her mind/heart.

I am dying so sweet.

So they make it to the end, theres two albums and they open the first. Its filled with events from the series from Clara's POV. Primarily about the two. (I wonder what Clara would think of Azz's evil cycle?)

They get a little shy about it but are also happy to read the praise.

As you can see the second book has the same images but is filled with her negative thoughts on the situations.

I feel like this arc is really about the people who think Clara is just an idiot, she's not she just's afraid to express her negative thoughts.

And before they can really think Clara comes back. She starts to freak out over them escaping and going here. She reveals shes afraid to show this part of herself to them and think the two will hate her now.

Iruma tries to end her negative thinking but well

That kinda back fires.

Clara decides she has to trap him even further inside her psyche. Which sidebar again but these chapters really show how terrifying her powers can be if she applied them.

Azz rushes in to stop her and this looks so like romantic

Lord Hater is the self-proclaimed "universe's awesomest evil-doer", an immature, attention-seeking manchild with electric powers and a short temper. Commander Peepers is both Lord Hater's right hand man in villainy AND his jilted stay-at-home-wife-guy (Also in villainy. Hater is really good at getting distracted from productive and efficient villaining.) Lord Hater was the greatest villain in the galaxy thanks to how well he and Commander Peepers worked as an evil team to run the Hater Empire!

Lord Hater conquers planets and is such an edgy bastard. Peepers is the actual brains behind the operation. Peepers is often pushed aside by Hater, they are besties and yet Peepers is always pining for this guy who will never notice. Peepers is so horribly gay for him if you watch the show he wants his stupid boss so bad. Peepers is so scared of him season 1 but then starts yelling BACK in season 2 and has to deal with him like a babysitter or something and yet STILL idolizes him and that’s just such a fun dynamic. His password is H8RNP33PRS43VR (Hater and Peepers forever). They are so evil and everyone fears them and they are villains and they are gay and the side of the fandom that draws them as a married couple that needs counseling is absolutely correct. The fanart of Hater openly liking him back is wonderful but I swear you don’t even need that. They are so gay and villain you have to love them they are

For Wu Zetian x Gao Yizhi x Li Shimin: (propaganda from previous poll here)

They are in a poly and are so morally gray and I love em. The triangle really is the strongest shape

They're gay because they're all bi (literally in Shimin and Yizhi's cases, kinda more implied for Zetian). Zetian and Shimin tortured a man for information (and also because he tortured them first) while Yizhi cooked back in their apartment. They made a plan to destroy their government and take over instead. Yizhi killed his dad because he was talking shit about Zetian and trying to sway his trust in her (it didn't work lmao). Instead of a love triangle (it REALLY seemed like that was what it was heading towards) they all love each other and would (and have) committed atrocities for each other. There's a whole thing about how they're stronger together (like, metaphorically and on the battlefield (Shimin and Zetian pilot a giant mecha together and Yizhi balances them))

They're a canon polyship who are all a bit deranged and down to kill for their goals and/or to protect bae. Two have tortured a man to death together and came home to the third making celebratory cookies for them.

Honestly of all Haikyuu texting videos on YouTube, gotta say, Princess Angel probably does my favourite. First of all, none of the elements I dislike such as toxic characters or ships, or honestly, popular fanon versions in general. All the ships are really cute and actually love each other. And they don't bully each other, they all support each other. And there's no Hinata harem/everyone being weirdly obsessed with Hinata. I don't have a problem with canon Hinata, but sometimes, in fanfiction and especially these texting videos, even if it's not technically Hinata harem, everyone will be strangely obsessed with him. This is made worse when combined with the slightly toxic versions of ships, particularly regarding Kuroken. Like, when Kenma seems more into Hinata then Kuroo, his boyfriend, you kinda wonder why Kenma's even with Kuroo and if he's only with Kuroo because Hinata is dating someone else (usually Kageyama). This is more of a preference thing for me personally but so is everything I say here as this is my opinion, not facts or me saying you have to agree

That's another thing i like. No angst. It's all just cute fluff and crack. Lyric pranks, but they catch on and join in. They hype each other up and support each other, which is really refreshing when most Haikyuu text videos are either angsty or have toxic characterisations. This is fine if this is what you want, but I personally prefer fluff and crack and people being friends and couples who actually like each other, at least for texting videos.

In terms of ships, lots of poly ships which, as a multishipper, I love. Kiyoennotaka (Kiyoko, Ennoshita and Tanaka), sakuatsuiwaoi, bokuakakuroken, tsukiyamakagehina, suga, Daichi, kita and Aran. Other ships in their main GC. But they also have separate AUs where they explore other ships too. All cute and fluffy. All just absolutely hyped up and supported. Also, this isn't quite as important to me as someone who is cisgender, but there is also some gender stuff in there, I'm pretty sure Oikawa is genderfluid or non binary or something since he switches pronouns and I think there are others with similar gender stuff going on. Also special shoutout for their version of Ushijima and especially introducing me to the concept of Asahi, Nishinoya, Tendou and Ushijima as a poly ship. Not one i would've thought of but I honestly love their version of it.

Honestly if you're into multishipping, polyshipping, fluff and crack with no angst and like chatfics or like texting videos, I really do recommend. Whenever I want to watch this content, this is the first channel i go to

7. Are they a physically affectionate couple? Are they fine displaying those affections in public or do they prefer to be in private? If they're not, how do they prefer to show their love instead? What does their ideal date look like? Do they go on much?

for hakim: in private yes very much hakim has to be pried off lucanis and neve with a crowbar. but in public? i think he teases pda sometimes but he doesn't actually do it that much. like he can be generally physically affectionate in the like. kinda way that you might think is pda before you see he's also like that with harding, taash, davrin, etc. that's just how he is with ppl he cares about. but in terms of like romantic pda i think most people would be surprised to find out that neve and lucanis prolly show more pda with each other than either do with rook unless theyre specifically messing w each other (neve and hakim are the worst offenders of this, esp in the endgame where their pastime is butting in on talon business to bother lucanis)

i think hakim likes dates that get Away from everything. rooftop dinners and people watching in treviso or dock town, maybe a walk or hike in rivain. its like, low pressure and not super social like a fancy date would be, and also very intimate in its own way. just him and them and the world for a bit.

for iktom: i think he's pretty average on the physical affection spectrum, but he seems like very much an acts of service focused kinda guy. or like. just being present With his partners ig. hes not shy about pda when hes feeling it, like picking up and kissing emmrich or davrin after an exciting/scary fight or something (cue get a room noises from taash lol). he's kind of just the kinda guy to get swept up in the moment but he's not crazy touchy feely on his own outside of that.

and with the date thing oh my god iktom is such a 'i wanna show you a place' guy. he will make you hike 4 hours and itll be worth it because you Will see the most amazing natural wonders in the corners of places you thought could only hold agony. granted he hiked around the anderfels professionally since he was like 15 so it makes sense he would be like this but like. yeah. there is often also an activity involved. like sledding or stargazing or some kind of game or something. he will see something beautiful or fun and instantly catalogue it in his brain to share with his loves later.

12. Any inside jokes?

hakim neve and lucanis have to have SO many. hakim and neve especially. unfortunately i am not very good at coming up with inside joke situations for characters on the fly but i know theres been many times where hakim just says A Phrase out of context to try to get one of them to crack up in a situation where it super isn't appropriate (that being said hakim is peak class clown he has inside jokes with everyone sdfghggf)

i think iktom and emmrich keep having this thing where they think they have an inside joke but the other didnt realize this was a thing they were gonna bring up around other people and they get kinda flustered. davrin and iktom definitely have more especially both being wardens i feel like you get a ton from that alone. all the weisshaupt training stories...

hakim: i think though lucanis does see himself as having been caged or molded towards something his whole life outside of his control (and he Is), i think hakim like. admires his ability to stay kind and such despite this. in that way he's always choosing to be the person he is and that's worth something. idk if that makes sense. but lucanis' thoughtfulness was the first thing that struck out to him.. i guess this is kind of true of neve as well. esp considering neve is hardened in his game its like...despite the hardboiled detective protector of it all, she never stops caring. she has a lot of conviction idk. which is part of why they butt heads sometimes but its good that she keeps him in check. they all keep each other balanced idk. theres a lot of more surface level attraction stuff he has with both sure but hes had that with dozens of people. its that stuff that endears them to him initially beyond the attraction and he holds onto that. says some corny shit like even if we weren't together thats something about you that will always be worth loving

them with hakim though....hm. hakim has this like. infectious like. positivity isnt exactly it but kind of? he's not wholly optimistic but he's always gonna look forward. always gonna find moments of joy or humor or something that can make the tension and fear kind of melt away. idk. thinking about lucanis's 'break apart my perfectly gathered clouds of doom' line w that especially. i think neve also likes this about him but the angles a bit different (and where lucanis is almost like dumbstruck by how much this mf brightens his day neve is almost like frustrated by it cuz like! hes distracting! but like its what she needs a lot of the time + she knows it. idk.)

iktom: i think theres a certain attraction iktom has towards someone who is ultra-competent in their field for one. which i think makes sense for both monster hunter davrin and fade expert emmrich (and also why he was having a constant bi panic with the group overall LMAO) but hm. i do know he loves to listen to them yap so maybe that Is part of it cuz he wants to do what he can to care about what they care about bc they care about them so deeply ykno? with emmrich its all tied up in his compassion. hes such a romantic but not in the literal romance sense like in the way he talks about things. it brightens something in iktoms soul. and davrin has Such conviction to make something of himself and do right by the responsibilities hes been handed and it makes iktom want to do the same. theyre both such fundamentally good people to him in ways that both make them good at what they do and make iktom wanna be better

their favorite thing about iktom though? hmmmm his chest i mean. idk i think davrin admires his strength like sure in a literal way but also in a mental/spiritual way. he's a bit of an anchor for him i think.... like. idk i think about davrins dialogues about being able to change your future and stuff and how he'd see iktom as having done that more than once and they both have this like. strength is shown in protection as much as might kind of thing + thats definitely like. part of it. (also i think in some way they're both each other's examples of why it is their place as wardens is so important/meaningful idk. i love a warden power couple.) for emmrich i think like. iktom has a thoughtfulness and cleverness to him that goes a bit under the radar esp considering hes this huge tank of a guy but emmrich Does catch it and always tries to encourage him to engage/acknowledge it cuz its this wonderful spark that doesnt get enough attention! its the why everyone keeps getting taken by surprise with him, himself included! (iktom is a tanky ass warrior but hes very kinda ranger-y in some ways hes very good in nature esp in the anderfels and is consistently surprising emmrich by just how much he can teach him)

one thing i've been grappling with lately is the 'harem' aspects of shen yuan's story arc

like it's objectively my least favorite part. not if he actually had a harem, im all for multishipping and polyshipping, but the whole "every man fell in love with him" thing

which isn't really even that true to canon. yue qingyuan had a very turbulent relationship with shen jiu and his feelings toward shen yuan do appear to be a carryover from that relationship. and liu qingge's feelings toward shen yuan CAN be read as platonic, albeit with some stretches of the imagination given the whole succubus extra. tho i do think the more canon compliant interpretation is that liu qingge at least has a crush. zhuzhi-lang's feelings really don't read as romantic and neither does tianlang-jun's, and no other characters are really that obsessed with shen yuan. aside from his disciples but that is explicitly written as platonic. which basically just leaves luo binghe and liu qingge as the only members of his 'harem'

so while i dont think its not canon compliant to write all of those characters having a Thing for shen yuan, i actually think there was even some authorial intent in doing so, my issue is that i actually dislike that type of story-telling

like on a personal taste level, i dont enjoy the entire concept of "male lead and sub male lead". if you're gonna give your protag multiple love interests, just fucking commit to a poly ending istg. i'm just not really interested in love triangles at all

and beyond that, i really don't enjoy the trope of "everyone is obsessed with x character". it's a reeeeeaaalllyyy boring trope to me. i like contrast. i like complicated relationships. like my enjoyment of shen yuan's story would spike 3000% if yue qingyuan didn't like him. like walk with me, what if yue qingyuan, as the only person who both knew about shen jiu on a deeper level and cared for him deeply, was deeply uncomfortable with this pod person? what if he struggled with disliking shen yuan bc he still thinks its an amnesia situation but he kinda hates everything that makes him different from shen jiu. like im not even a yuejiu shipper (to the point that im not sure thats the ship name LOL) but i just think that would be WAY more compelling?

i dont really have notes on liu qingge's relationship with him because they did a good job establishing how they bonded over time and what they bonded over, so the relationship reads as realistic. i prefer to view liu qingge's feelings for him as (mostly) platonic solely because i detest the whole second-male-lead-trope, but the relationship makes sense and liu qingge's feelings make sense

but like... everyone else? im just confused. because look, i enjoy that shen yuan's disciples love him but............ because so much of his time with his disciples is off screen im left wondering why. like they have such a fierce unshakable loyalty toward him, but we almost always see shen yuan neglecting them in favor of spoiling luo binghe. like idk about you, but if my teacher neglected me constantly and played favorites, i wouldn't exactly be jumping to give him my life to defend him. and see, im sure that there was a lot of things that happened off screen to make them so attached. my problem is that it all happened off screen, ya know? im reading ning yingying ready to give up her life in battle to protect her shizun's honor and im just like "but why do you care?"

to some extent i also feel this way about liu qingge. they did more to establish the liuyuan relationship than most of the other relationships so i give it a pass, but tbh by the time liu qingge was fighting luo binghe every single day over a corpse i was a little bit "...why tho?". the extras did something to express their budding friendship and there is the whole 'he saved my life so i save his life' thing, so im not saying it was out of left field, but i was a bit taken aback by the development. it was one of those "huh... i mean i guess that makes sense?" moments for me

i also just feel like i'd be more compelled by shen yuan if he had more haters. cuz there's some really justifiable reasons for characters to dislike him. like what if mu qingfang resented him because he caused him to get kidnapped or his reckless neglect got disciples injured? i'm not saying that i want shen yuan to be demonized or widely hated, i'd just like if he got more push-back i guess. he does get pushback in canon, but it's all canon-fodder villains. sure, shen jiu's ex hates the ground he walks on, but her grudge is against shen jiu, not shen yuan, and she's a very two dimensional character who exists solely to cause problems and then die horribly.

tbh i think thats why i enjoy the cumplane friendship bc airplane doesnt seem to really get along that well with cucumber (and vice versa lol). they have the vibe of "we would literally never be friends if we werent literally forced together" which is a delightful vibe imo LOL. i like forcing characters together against their will until they get unwillingly attached. again, just a personal flavor that i enjoy, i think thats an aspect of liuyuan that i like too. so it's good to see someone on the main cast who isnt canon fodder be a little bit critical of shen yuan

tbh tho, my real issue isnt actually with the canon events of svsss. yes, i did read it and i had the reading comprehension to understand "the author is going for reverse harem vibes" and i chose to kinda ignore those vibes because, as stated above, i dont like them and since they're not 100% confirmed, i can come up with alternative explanations that remain canon compliant

my issue is that i keep running into the shen yuan harem fanon. which again, has PLENTY of kindling in canon. the people who read this book and said "shen yuan harem" were having good reading comprehension and picking up what the author was putting down. they're also just having a good time and i absolutely support that for them LOL. this is in no way a criticism of them or their likes or their fanon

my issue is with my own personal tastes

cuz normally even when i dont really like an aspect of a characters story, if i really like the character then i can just accept the canon of it. as an example, im squicked out by cannibalism but i really enjoy xue yang from mdzs (who has the whole weird 'i eat tongues in tea' thing). it's a squick of mine, but because i enjoy that character, i continue to characterize xue yang as having cannibalistic traits. even though theres a certain level of dubiousness to xue yang's tongue-tea thing (we dont actually see it, he just talks about it, and xue yang isnt exactly a reliable narrator). so if i wanted to get out of the cannibal xue yang thing, i could make justifications to avoid it. but because i like to be pretty dedicated to remaining as canon-compliant as possible with my characterizations, i chose to just endure my squick

and that's why im struggling right now. i know what my NORMAL reaction to finding a trope that i personally dislike in a character that i like is. my normal reaction is just the above. i want to enjoy the character for who they actually are within the text of the story rather than who i want them to be.

and within canon, shen yuan is a little bit of a "everyone somewhat irrationally loves and becomes obsessed with him" character.

normally i'd just accept it

but for some reason i really hate to accept it in this particular situation. i keep talking myself into circles over it. i keep trying to headcanon my way around the special treatment he receives. i keep getting annoyed when im reading a fic and suddenly in the background theres shen yuan with thirty suitors. and idk why i cant just accept it and move on

i maintain that for the majority of the characters, the harem vibes can definitely be explained away through canon compliant means that arent even a stretch, but i find myself trying to make that stretch for liuyuan. which i dont dislike liuyuan at all. and its not like bingyuan is my otp or anything. im very happy to just read a liuyuan fic or a bingliu fic or ship them both with other people. it's specifically the reverse harem aspect of it thats getting under my skin. its specifically the love triangle stuff. it's specifically the sub-male lead thing.

anyway i keep grappling with it bc a few reasons but one of them is that i realized some part of it legitimately makes me enjoy shen yuan less. like, when he's just some guy from a somewhat privileged background who got trapped in a porn novel he read, i like him just fine. but when he's The Most Eligible Bachelor Ever, then i start to roll my eyes and stop reading

and again, it's a canon compliant headcanon. just because i think that the yueyuan story arc would have been ten million times more compelling if yue qingyuan could tell he wasnt shen jiu and resented that, that isnt what happened. yue qingyuan either didn't notice that shen jiu had been possessed and seemingly enjoyed his changed personality. or he did notice shen jiu had been possessed and decided to do nothing about it and embraced the person who possessed him. i dont get my compelling arc of "you replaced the person most important to me and i dont know how to stop hating you for that and it hurts", i got what we got. and no shade to the yueyuan shippers who enjoyed what we got, but it wasnt compelling for me lol. it's why i dont really ship yue qingyuan with either shen jiu or shen yuan (even tho i adore his relationship with shen jiu and yue qingyuan as a character, i just choose to view yuejiu platonically cuz it wasnt my personal flavor for shipping)

anyway this is just me expressing a struggle ive been having lately LOL theres no real purpose to this other than this aspect of svsss just doesnt appeal to my personal tastes and for some reason, im struggling more than i normally would

i think i could like it more if there was more time spent on each of those relationships. or again, if they'd just committed to poly ending LOL. but tbh, as is, i just kinda wish those elements didnt exist within canon. because they distract a bit from the bingyuan instead of complimenting it (imo) and then theres no follow through on it other than the vague implication that shen yuan left a trail of broken hearts behind him. which again, just not a trope that appeals to me on a personal level

idk, i just realized recently that my personal distaste for it has caused me to just start avoiding shen yuan content and that kinda sucks cuz i do like shen yuan. and so ive been grappling with it

i might just try to make my own shen yuan content??? or maybe i'll just try to avoid him more thoroughly. cuz again, it's not like i think people are wrong for seeing what they see, i just dont like it.

i think an interesting solution might be to explore the actual world-building. like the world itself was built with harem-shenanigans in mind. since luo binghe is refusing his role as center of the harem, what if reality itself is attempting to bend the minds of those close to shen yuan to make him centerpiece. so its not actually that everyone loves him (somewhat) irrationally, it's that the world itself is acting as a love potion.

another alternative that we're just a bit limited by shen yuan's pov. like yue qingyuan IS struggling with those things but he's working really hard to hide it. liu qingge does not in fact view shen yuan that way, but the confusing words of the succubus combined with the aphrodisiac made him confused and scared. when he was calm enough to look at the situation later, he was embarrassed that he almost let himself get gaslit into a crush that he didnt even have. or something to that degree. the disciples all hold shen yuan in such high regard because there were countless off-screen moments that were very forgettable to shen yuan, and therefore not worth referencing or reflecting upon, but that fully explain the extent of their devotion to him.

or again, just go poly LOL. post canon is just an actual poly situation, but it's actually luo binghe slowly and accidentally falling in love with all the men who are pursuing his husband LOL and luo binghe reasoning that, look, if shizun is into it too, i can use shizun as bait to seduce them all..... or smth idk LOL. i do think that the worldbuilding of svsss is more primed for poly than most works lmfao considering that binghe is poly in pidw canon and clearly shen yuan was into that otherwise WHY WOULD HE READ A MILLION CHAPTERS OF POLY PORN. so with two poly husbands, feels like it would only make sense that the pair of them would date other people (both together and separate) once they've settled down and worked out all their insecurities. like at the end of the series, luo binghe is still Deeply insecure about so many things. but once he's had time to realize that his place in shizun's heart isn't going anywhere, why wouldn't he want to explore the fact that he is in fact poly?

my personal preference for poly fiction is that all parties like all parties (even tho thats not necessarily realistic to irl poly life LOL but they fly on swords so im not really looking for realism in my fiction) so i would def prefer fics where its like, bingyuan getting themselves a harem instead of shen yuan getting himself a harem. also my bingliu loving heart would be sad if it was just bingyuan and liuyuan LOL

like oki yeah thats the flavor i want for my background bingyuan. established, happy, comfortable, exploring their poly options. also bingyuan x sha hualing is underrated and i will die on that hill LOL i just think it's notable that basically all of luo binghe's original harem grew to hate him, dislike him, or ship him with his husband and sha hualing is the only person who still liked him and actually was close enough to him (proximity wise) to know what his personality was actually like and STILL liked him. ning yingying knew him at his most vulnerable and by post canon she basically doesnt give a fuck about him. liu mingyan writes smut about him and his husband. xiao gongzhu seems to despise him. qin wanyue still likes him but tbh i dont think she knows him very well and ALSO qin wanyue pisses me the fuck off. the fact that she was still pining after luo binghe mere moments after her little sister was brutally murdered reeaaalllly makes me dislike her. i know that this is more of mxtx and her generally bad writing of female characters and less of a purposeful character trait that qin wanyue was assigned, but im a death of the author type of dude and authorial intent and failings set aside, it makes qin wanyue a deeply unpleasant character imo. which leaves sha hualing as the only one who likes him, knows him well, and i still find likeable LOL. (yes i know that sha hualing killed her father for binghe but a. we have no idea if she had a good or bad relationship with her dad. b. its canonically established that demons dont think much of familial bonds in stark contrast to qin wanyue who is human. c. i like that sha hualing is a bad person LOL. my issue with qin wanyue is that she's an otherwise tepid person, she's not an interesting villain who plotted the downfall of her sister, she's just someone who thinks getting her dick wet is more interesting than grieving the death of her younger sister who she seemed to think was immature but otherwise didn't have a lot of bad blood with her).

back to the ot3 shenanigans and on the shen yuan side of things, i just think about all the times he was highkey ogling her when she showed up LOL like you cannot convince me this man is not bi and interested. he's also like "dont put your dick in crazy" (wise) and recognizes that sha hualing is off her rocker LOL but tbh i think thats part of the appeal of the ship. shen yuan is sitting here like "right, so she's literally the craziest person ive ever met, stop looking at her tits, omfg why did i think that now im not going to stop thinking that and oh god she's terrifying and horrible, i think i hate her but also ahhh i kinda cant stop thinking about her now?!?!". i love shen yuan struggling with falling in love with crazy (again LOL he already has luo binghe. now it would be TWO yanderes lmfao)

for the record, i do enjoy mingling quite a bit, my only reason i dont fixate on them more is that they're both very flat characters who dont interact much (again, mxtx does not write female characters well and it drives me a lot insane as someone who normally has all female blorbos. like its a testament to how much i love women that i put so much work into characterizing these cardboard cutouts that mxtx tried to sell us as women). i think theres a lot of potential for mingling to be a fantastic ship and their dynamic could be really great, but basically the most characterization we get for liu mingyan is she's an rpf loving fujoshi. her other traits are... she's composed? good fighter? doesnt take off her mask? very pretty? it's really barebones pickings if youre a liu mingyan fan and you basically have to fill in all the blanks for her personality from scratch. which is something im already doing for sha hualing, bc i love her LOL, so i just need to persuade myself to put in the effort for liu mingyan as well. my gl loving ass is doing all the fucking work here. my bare ass pickings for "these girls are in love" is "they were in the same room once" and No I'm Not Bitter (im VERY bitter). ngl i was very excited when i started reading svsss cuz i saw there was a lot of fandom for female characters so i thought "man maybe mxtx finally decided to pass the bechdel test" (a bullshit test by all accounts but man is it notable when your work CANT pass even that bullshit test). like i got even more excited as i started reading and the premise became apparent. this is the world of a harem novel??? holyshit!! the author is gonna have no choice but to write multiple interesting women!!! omgosh, i hope the protagonist befriends them or something! shit this is gonna be so cool, i am Ready. and then the most interesting woman i get is a yandere who is obsessed with the male protagonist. and nope i dont count su xiyan because she appears for one damn scene in an extra. i admit she seems really cool and interesting and i would love to get to know her more but ohwow she got fridged for the angst of a male character, ive never seen mxtx do that to a female character before 🙄. look, im definitely a fan of mxtx's works and i still adore their female characters even tho the writing on those characters is abysmal, i definitely dont go to mxtx's works looking for great female characters, im obviously in here for the boys love and technically speaking, well-written female characters are unnecessary for those purposes. its like going to a hamburger joint and complaining about their crappy tacos. like what did you expect bro, they serve burgers. all that to say, i still definitely criticize it and i think mxtx's works would only be better if there was more thought put into the female characters

like, if ning yingying was given an actual arc and we were able to SEE the scenes that made her so dedicated to her shizun. and by the point that she's getting into fights that are out of her league to defend her shizun, you've had a lot of time to love her and get to know her and love her relationship with shen yuan so you're just as anxious as shen yuan is about her safety. because she's an interesting and compelling character who was given screentime. and you explore her bond with luo binghe, how the love she had for him when they were younger morphed into disdain slowly and how they both felt about that. ning yingying struggling with "was the person i once knew ever real or was he always a bastard?" and luo binghe struggling with "did she ever actually care about me as an individual or was all of her kindness shallow lies?". im not saying introduce a bingying arc, im just saying that their friendship ought to have meant something to the both of them and i think that the work itself would have been better if it addressed what that friendship meant to them and made ning yingying a well-rounded character who had more personality than "she's oblivious and causes men to fight over her on accident" and "she's very loyal to her shizun"

that's just my preference tho. i prefer works that have well-written female characters (or at least characters who have more well rounded personalities LOL) but just because i prefer those works, it doesnt mean that i dont enjoy my time here. i still love ning yingying, sha hualing, and liu mingyan even tho i have to do all the work in rounding out their personalities LOL and i still clearly enjoy the work itself. that said, it does make it hard for my lesbian loving ass to get really into a yuri ship when the most interaction is "they got in a fight like twice" IM STILL HERE FOR IT, but my mind wanders to other ships where theres more food lolol. that said, i think ning yingying x sha hualing is underrated and more people should explore it LOL (look they were in the same room once and for all my complaints THAT IS ENOUGH FOR ME PFF)

I feel like my first instinct is to just freak out at the sheer ball-lightning that this particular couple would induce. I don't think it's my favourite thing, but the more I think about it, the more I can like... kinda see how they could be really good for each other?

I can imagine them first bonding over the obvious, like volleyball and all their favourite competitions and athletics and they're both loud and energetic but I feel like that would be the, like, pre-relationship friendship stage. And Hinata is 100% volleyball but Noya has such an interest in everything beyond volleyball I can really see him broadening Hinata's worldview. Like... Hinata played soccer before he knew that volleyball was a thing. i really think Hinata and Nishinoya would have a lot of fun playing soccer together. And fishing. and baseball. and horseback riding. or whatever the hell else they can get up to.

I think hinata wouldn't really be able to identify his feelings as romantic for a long, long time, probably because this relationship would feel SO much different from his others? Especially post-timeskip. Like... his go-to best friends, Kageyama, and then his MSBY boys, Bokuto, Atsumu, Sakusa - like, they're all really REALLY volleyball forward. And his whole life is saturated in that. but then he has this OTHER friend, who loves the sport and comes to all his games but also just knows so, so much. Like Nishinoya would talk about every wonder of the world he's been to, all the games he's learned, these interesting little alcoves of culture and society and I think this ship could be really could because when Hinata realizes that he's fallen in love with Noya, I think he might take a break from his hyperfocus in volleyball and go globetrotting with his boyfriend. (noya had been waiting for him to realize for years)

I dont have too much more interesting to say with the addition of the polyship. BUT I actually think this one would work really well as a non-polycule polyship. Like I imagine Noya and Hinata could date each other while also dating Asahi / Kageyama. They'd get very different things oit of their relationships, and I dont this Asahi would mind having a second hyper energetic partner along for some of their trips, especially since it makes Noya so happy. They wouls absolutely both sleep on Asahi's chest tho. romantic or platonic. (Asahi wakes up so overheated and sweating its almost unhealthy)

I think about this is where i leave you, I'd like someone to ask what actually happened to Romulus after his split himself. It's something that Janus wonders about in the first chapter. I'd like to think that his consciousness still exists somewhere in Thomas's mind, he just doesn't have the role of creativity anymore. He's like a kind of ghost, he has no body, floating around and watching over Janus and the twins. Grieving when they fight, grieving when Janus grieves him. He'd be really happy that Janus managed to make up with the twins I think.

6. What’s one fact about the universe of [insert fic] that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?

Something Irrevocable never actually says what happened to Rowan (an oc)'s baby cousin. I mentioned that he made a lopsided little teddy bear for his cousin and then after the apocalypse happened we see a purple teddy bear on the side of the road and it's missing an arm. Tbh i don't really have an answer to this but I made myself so sad with that detail so I wanted to do something with it. He's definitely not dead, that would make me too sad. I have an idea for a hypothetical spin-off about Carlton Drake (who was the main villain in the movie but basically irrelevant and kinda pathetic in the fic) which was gonna use his affection for kids as a somewhat-redeeming quality, and I was gonna put Rowan's cousin in there.

You mayy or may not have heard a little about this fic, but I'm currently working on a fic for roleslaying week with the working title "flaredrum mft ftm solidarity fic". It's from Djembe's pov but it's about Youngblood's time at the Bard College pre-canon, her relationship with Noise and her gender. I wouldn't say it explores Djembe, but it does also explore who I like to imagine Djembe is (tbf we don't know much about him yet!) Oh and it's also about how the Bard College is a fucked up toxic environment in sooo many ways.

Just got into A Case Study of Vanitias and I gotta wonder why is there not more love for VanitasxNoexJeanneXDomi poly ship??????

Like look I’m SUPER picky when it comes to my polyships but these four are like just ripe with potential. They each have dynamic personalities and unique relations with each other, like why limit yourself here?????

Vanitas x Noe: Is sorta your basic pretty boy dynamic but with the bonus of the Noe is serving some strong demi/aro vibes (at least to me) and doesnt fully understand his own feelings while Vanitas refuses to think anyone could care about him. The cons being you leave these two alone they’d never really go anywhere you got like two immovable objects here.

Vanitas x Jeanne: Ok so little biased but I kinda love when the more dominating personality is the more submissive one sexually. But also this dynamic is so fun and slight spoiler from manga but Jeanne ends up being the more aggressive type all around of the two and its delightful. So unmovable object plus a great force.

Noe x Domi: I am typically deeply annoyed with the childhood friend trope especially in anime but this is one of the few times I actually enjoy it. The two have this level of understanding each other better than most while still being confused and wrong about the other that really hits the sweet spot. While Domi knows what she wants but is afraid to go after it Noe is uncertain. An unmovable object and a force thats trying to push gently. 

Jeanne x Domi: We haven’t seen a lot but these two both admire and are envious of the other but dont make it the others issue which i like. Domi is def the caretaker of Jeanne who’s more naive and just wants good things for her. While Jeanne wants to make sure Domi stays safe. We got to forces here that don’t wanna hurt the other.

Like this right here is pretty good and I’m DYING for more Vanitas x Domi and Jeanne x Noe interactions. Like dear fucking god . 

Vanitas x Domi are very similar personality wise having little regard for their own well being and are very forceful personality wise. I can see these two getting a lot of shit done. 

Noe x Jeanne are very similar as well in their excitability and naivety like they’d be this amazing chaotic lawful force if left to their own devices. 

I’m just saying why limit yourself here? THis is a gold mine.

I really love the little satosugu polyship community that we’ve established here, it’s so pleasant 🥺 I wanna know more about how everyone else is like, developing the relationship dynamics in their heads. Personally I’m fond of the whole “everyone slowly growing closer as a friend group and as individuals with each other, maybe everyone has kissed or fooled around in some capacity before and then one day when your all three hanging out together, someone pipes up and says they really care about both of the others a lot and sparks the conversation that ultimately leads to everyone dating” kinda thing. But there are so many wonderful possibilities for relationship setup!! Nat, how do you envision it? <33

my personal favourite poly satosugu is already established satosugu where you're a fairly new interloper to their lives; perhaps a new teacher (if they're both sensei at the school), perhaps a jujutsu sorcerer who has moved from being based at the kyoto school, maybe a cute barista at a coffee shop or the new teacher whose class megumi and mimiko and nanako have found themselves in--

and they're unfailingly polite, gojo a little mischievous, geto very gentlemanly, and you end up spending more time talking to them and you develop a crush on them only to have to chastise yourself because they're taken - and then some Event (tm) happens that acts as a catalyst for them to confess they've been thinking about you and they just need to know if you've been thinking about them, and one thing leads to another and suddenly you are juggling having two boyfriends when you once had zero!!!

but careful mutual pining that leads up to all three of you deciding you may as well try it because you care so much about both of them and they care so much about both of you is also VERY SOFT, very SWEET . . . sigh <3

Clouse x Acronix!

Oh boy. There’s tired still young but feels old Clouse and young energetic Acronix. That’s already a dynamic enough.

They probably met because of Chen. Clouse was still his student and the Time Twins came along when Chen gave them an offer.

Acronix probably looked at Clouse and thought “Oh he looks kinda cute. How has Chen not been smothering him?”

Long haired guys? Yep. Despite having long hair himself, Acronix has trouble with it so Clouse just goes along to help him and tries to teach him. Keyword is tries.

Clouse is a good listener and Acronix already talks so much. It makes Nix feel better when he can info dump. Clouse just lets him go on and interjects sometimes.

Now don’t get me started on the whole goatee-mustache thing where if they kissed they practically complete the facial hair.

And speaking of kisses though, they soft one moment and they be hot another. Acronix would try keeping himself... calm but it’s hard to do that when all he’s had are cute boyfriends.

I really want to have one of them be taller but it’s only so they’d pick up the other. Just a literal sweep off the feet.

Now I’m thinking about the fact that Clouse says magic isn’t a toy but Acronix is like “you say that but we can still play with it?” Clouse probably looks flustered and insists Magic wasn’t intended for anything in bed but Nix is just all the more interested in it.

“You wanna try some spells later?” “No! Not in bed!” “Oh it’s not okay for that but it’s all the more okay to see Chen as a snake person who by then would have a hemipenes and would want to test them out?” “Th-.. Now let me just consider Polyship with Acronix/Clouse and Future (because no matter what I do, I can’t picture Nix without his Cy.)

okok so. au thing. i don't have too much of a plot ngl ,, buuut basically kiyo is. a prince and they're good friends with rantaro whos also another prince,, as well as. secretly having a crush on kiyo. there's a knight, kaito, who want to marry kiyo, though there's also a pirate who comes, kokichi, and also wants to marry korekiyo, though it's for the money and throne (... at first!) and basically kaito and kokichi are like " grr bark bark " at each other (.. while they pretend they're fine and dandy around kiyo, who's kinda oblivious lol) and kiyo is kind of crushing on both of them,, honestly i don't know. who they're gonna end up with (probably both knowing me 🙄) ,,rantaro will most likely end up with shuichi though. i honestly plan on writing a fic abt this lol,,uhhh there's probably stuff im forgetting🏃 my apologies,, it's not a very fleshed out au yet tbh but i thought it'd interest you 🥲 -🦞
