im so scared to write smutt. like how do you start? seems weird. i’ve wrote fluff and angst before but i have a bunch of smut fics in my drafts im too scared to post. how’s the best way to start?

ok im glad you asked!! here's some tips for anyone startingg! im by no means an expert but idkk.

so you dont need to start ALL in. the best smut starts with tension, emotions, and a reason it’s happening. like if they're kissing and it gets out of hand, or someones comforting the other, or unresolved tension, etc etc. in other words, just like how in real life theres foreplay, give your writing a lil foreplay instead of jumping into it!

tips to start:

start with making out scenes to kinda break that feeling

have someone say “tell me to stop” or “do you want this?”because consent is super hot <33

USE INTERNAL MONOLOGUE. if they’re nervous, let them be nervous. it humanizes it, and also reflects your own emotions!

and btw: writing smut isn’t about how explicit you are. it’s about feeling. sometimes just an internal thought or feeling of the moment hits harder than three paragraphs of anatomy lingo. start soft, and get bolder as you go.

also your first smut fic will feel weird, and mine SURE did. i was terrified to post it, but at the end of the day its going to get easier and people are going to love it!

8. Who has the worst luck?

Me? 🤡 But among my OCs, it would be Zak, somehow. He's kinda "lucky" in his bad luck because things could have been and still be so much worse but... thanks the dice, the crazy shit he's going through haven't been lethal............ YET.

Vespera is also of that stock, in her own way.

22. Do any of your characters have someone named after them? Or are they named after someone else?

Altair, is kinda the 48549859th one in his family, if that counts. And Mereel, obviously... 👀

32. Do you have any characters who are twins?

Jo and Josh, my demon hunter babies. And Guten and Borg, Ash's adoptive brothers. Jo has a complete disregard for his own life and do all kind of shits that makes his brother sweat through sleepless nights of bad vibes from his twin at the other side of the world, and Guten and Borg are the embodiment of their god's two faces; crazy and clever are more often than not going hand in hand.

37. Did any of your characters have a fever they almost died from as a child?

Well, Ash! She almost died from the wounds that left those scars on her face… The fever was an interesting experience during which she may have met her god (the same one as her brothers).

44. Are any of your characters overshadowed by other siblings? Or have parents who clearly have a favorite? (ex: Boromir and Faramir)

Vivian... 😔 She clearly loves her baby sister very much, but so do her parents. They care for her, but they don't like her being such an introvert compared to her beaming and oversharing sister, and they aren't exactly the most supportive in general. I'm not sure they did it on purpose and with ill intent but they pull up shit like "why don't you do *this/that* like your sister" or "Look at your sister, she *blahblahblahlbhalhba*..." And even if they didn't mean it in a bad way, but maybe more to make her less introvert while they were perfectly happy with a calm and manageable child when she was little help her, it did scar her and her relationship with her sister quite a bit.

But telling more about their sisterly bond in the future would spoil things from the chapters to come so... 🤐

75: Do any of your characters wear glasses, sunglasses, goggles, or monocles?

Glasses: Leona! But only to rest her headaches a little. Sunglasses: Merry and Vivian, and quite a few others in my modern settings. Goggles: Elara, of course! Nobody wear monocles, thought.

Not really, save maybe for Vivian, and I talked about it here, on question #41

Ulrik. But not really. He flew from home, and from his father's wrath with his mother's blessing and a handful of aquilas?

Vivian! She was nesting in her flat in Boston, working remote most of the time for the company she joined barely out of uni and before being hired by Delos. And then, on site in the park.

Zak lived alone for quite some time too. And now that he found a little ball of fire, he wouldn't change that for the world.

I know you said you're a minor, but what's your opinion on other minors having tumblr to read/write smut or stuff related to it(or not doesn't matter) because they can't freely express themselves sexually? I just feel like there's so many older people on here, like 18-23 or smt, who think minors shouldn't be on the smut part of tumblr. But as a minor, I just want someone else's opinion on minors having it for a more appropriate way to release oxytocin and all of those sensual hormones, yk? I feel like people below a certain age are discriminated against(??) In a small way and aren't allowed to freely express themselves sexually. Everyone goes through sexually active periods, some sooner than others, so why should they have to be 'kicked out' of certain 'groups' just because they aren't older? Why can't someone a little younger who is experiencing sexual thoughts or desires have a healthy coping mechanism to release themselves???

my opinion is that it is 100% okay for all minors to participate!!

teens have sexual thoughts, it’s normal, and wanting a safe way to express that (like fic or writing) isn’t wrong.

i sometimes understand the “minors shouldn’t be in smut spaces” bc its about safety and keeping adults from crossing lines.

that said, if you’re writing/reading on your own or in peer spaces and not interacting with adults in that context? you’re not doing anything bad. just be careful. protect your space, and your peace.
