katsuki is sitting on the couch in the living room, holding his new little baby in his arms, and you notice that he's just been staring at him for the longest time. adjusts his little hat so his head doesn't get cold, pulls his small hands away from his face so he doesn't scratch himself.

and they're both quiet for a while, aside from the occasional squirmy baby noise, but katsuki eventually speaks up to ask—

"why's he lookin' at me like that?"

not only is the question itself funny, but the way it's voiced — tone deep and gruff, almost affronted — pulls a true laugh from you, has you shaking your head as you come around the couch to stand beside him.

and sure enough — your new little bean is frowning. even his little hairless browline is furrowed, hard.

you laugh again, sharp enough that your son wiggles in katsuki's arms. "because you're looking at him like that."

katsuki tch's, before turning to give you his son's exact same expression. "no 'm not. this is just my face."

"well, maybe that's just his face."

his frown deepens, hilariously enough. "ain't his face with you." and then he looks back down at him, like he's checking to see if he's still being glared at. he is. "looks like he's pissed."

"maybe he is."

you don't bother to correct him, to inform that your son does, in fact, give you a stink face every now and again — just like his father — and instead you watch katsuki lean down close to him, until their noses are nearly touching. watch the way little fingers squeeze around katsuki's thumb.

"the hell do you have to be pissed about, huh?" katsuki asks, voice quiet and low and small, enough for the boy in his arms. "far as i'm concerned, you're livin' the life."

you only laugh, smile while running a hand through katsuki's hair.

you'd say you are, too.

I have a question, in a certain part of the fandom when it comes to criticizing characters like Bakugou, Endeavor, etc., an answer that is repeated a lot is that those who criticize don't understand the cultural context of Japan and therefore we don't understand the way in which Horikoshi wrote. But is this really true? I don't deny that there are aspects of Japanese culture in the manga but many actions of the characters feel very Westernized for the cultural issue to be an impediment in understanding the manga, more than anything when the idea of ​​the heroes and everything written by Horikoshi feels a direct reference to US comics, not just a comic but directly movies like the MCU.

For understanding any character or the world of BNHA generally, of course some knowledge of Japanese culture would help shed light on some of the narrative choices and themes. This was written by a Japanese man with an intended audience of Japanese manga readers.

And it's true that Japan overall does tend to have a more laissez faire attitude towards bullying and domestic violence.

However, BNHA also clearly depicted these actions as horrific early on in the manga. Beyond that, BNHA is a manga where that argument is weaker than usual because it is so heavily inspired by American culture and American media specifically.

If an author spells out how horrific bullying, systemic discrimination, and domestic abuse are in his work, it's not too much to ask for the characters who were the victims to get the panel time to demonstrate how they were affected by these actions. The atonement doesn't carry much weight without an understanding of the result of the wrongdoing in the first place.

What a good consequence should look like and how atonement should occur is going to be tied up in cultural norms. But there's no cultural excuse for sidelining the victims because the author feared it would make the atoning characters unpopular. Objectively bad writing decisions are bad writing decisions regardless of culture.

I think all the magazines that have a love column will try to get Denki as an expert or interview him. Also, all programs on love topics will also want to receive it. He makes so much content with his alpha that he's a tidbit for all the spicy broadcasts. Midoriya is also called for interviews and shows, but I think they will have a more gentle and family character. By the type of how to combine work as the main character and family. I think everyone would be afraid to call Bakugou, but he would look good on a cooking show

As long as the interview isn't live, many media outlets are desperate to interview Denki about his love life because it's so dramatic and fun, and that makes for really good content. Live interviews are... forbidden by Denki's PR team if they include relationship questions. Denki has said too much many times.

Denki has thousands of YouTube videos dedicated to him, titled stuff like 'Every time Chargebolt says out of pocket shit' and 'Chargebolt and his mate being couple goals for 39 minutes'.

Midoriya is absolutely the family-friendly, parent approved hero. 100%. It comes with being number one and having a beautiful smile. Anything he mentions about his partner is very wholesome and generic. But imagine the scandal if anything outrageous ever leaked. It would be international news, a crazy PR nightmare of massive proportions. Like, wholesome, No. 1 Hero Deku is into cheating roleplays??? The press would have a field day.

Bakugou doesn't answer relationship questions at all. It's against his rules for interviews, so he will leave if an interviewer gets too bold. He's very protective of his home life and relationship.

But Bakugou on a cooking show??? Hilarious. I would also kill to have a cookbook written by Bakugou. I feel like his friends posted pics and hyped up his food so much on their social media that Bakugou's team decided to have him release a cookbook. They were going to make it really gimmicky, and hero themed, but Bakugou refused, so it's actually a really serious and amazing cookbook that endeared him to the domestic parents of the country who were previously iffy about his brashness negatively influencing child fans. It turned out to be a masterful piece of PR.

It's that time again! First Friday Fic Night

This month is family feels. Found family. The one you chose or who you chooses you. Sometimes on purpose but often unintentionally. As someone who had to cut ties with my family of origin (except my sister who is a gem), this theme is close to my heart.

I don't think that families (found or otherwise) are limited only to long-term, here-for-the-long-haul, relationships. Sometimes someone passes through your life for a brief period of time but manage to plant a home in your heart. It can happen when you need them for a season, or when they need you, and usually it hits you when you least expect it. So my definition of family feels may seem broad so the stories may not hit that spot for you. It's cool, they are all still really worth the read.

I had difficulty narrowing down my list so we may come back to family feels in the future. I also left Dadzawa out. That is a whole genre of its own. In this post we have Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, Teen Wolf, and Snow White With the Red Hair. We kind of hit them all.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this fic. I actually don't know how many times I've read it at this point. This is Bakugou not just saving without blowing things up, but it is also him learning to care for others, understand what giving up a piece of yourself really means, and discovering family. Plus, domestic Bakugou is my religion.

I think this might have been the first BNHA fic that grabbed me. It is top 5 BNHA for me, and I have 268 BNHA fics read and bookmarked. I wish I was joking about that last part.

I think this was originally going to be a longer fic, but it works really well as just a one shot. As I mentioned above, domestic Bakugou is my thing, and in this he is soft soft soft.

It's just so good. I can't. If there is only one fic you read from this list, it should be this one.

HMMMMM bakugou being just. the absolute picture of sin.

he works overnight and comes home early in the morning, around 3 or 4 am or so, and you greet him and give him a kissy and ask how it all went. and even though it's still dark outside and he's been working for twelve hours—he's still coming off patrol, right ? so he's still got some energy left, and he eats something and takes a shower and winds down as you fall back to sleep.

and it's not until much later in the day that he wakes up, early afternoon, and you're kind of tiptoeing around so that he can get his much-needed rest. you slip into the closet of your bedroom for something and you think you're gonna get in and out without a sound, but his hearing is so attuned to just about anything and everything at this point.

so rough and raspy, he grunts out, "what're y'lookin' for?" and you whip around real fast and he's just—

half sitting up in bed, bare back leaning against the headboard. an arm behind his head, so that his bicep is tense and round and stone-solid. stretched like that, his obliques are more prominent, taut and rippling up the side of his ribcage. he must have gotten hot while passed out, as he usually does, because the comforter is all askew; one of his legs is bent, the fine hair a dark gold in the waning day; the other is hanging off the bed, lightly swinging as he watches you, and the blanket has come down enough that you can see the bulge of his thigh muscles beneath his stupid tiny black boxer briefs.

and he's just so. man. in every single way.

(his hair is flat on one side, too, and his eyes are still a little puffy from sleep—but you think that adds to it, all in all)

hi hi!!!! this isn’t weird at all!!!

I used to have a popular blog back when fandom was at its height in 2020/2021 but then transferred over to here so it would be smaller and more intimate!!! I let a few of moots know about this page, and slowly started posting more and more on here. at first it was mainly like sfw, domestic stuff and then slowly moved to doing nsfw stuff as well.

but I can honestly attribute getting my following to community and being supported by other writers!!!! if you haven’t noticed before, I don’t use main tags (ie Bakugou x reader, Bakugou smut, etc) but my own personal tags. my posts only float around when others reblog and rec it, which is why so many people encourage others to reblog things that they like so more people can see it!!

but also, being personable with people, other writers, and followers. I lack in this department more than I should bc of social anxiety, but it always helps to reach out to people!!! even if it’s just to say hi, or share an idea, or talk about their own works. finding a community in fandoms definitely helps, because you get to make so many friends/moots and also gain support from people similar to you!!!

only thing I would say is to not reach out to people with the expectancy that they’ll support you, ya know???? like don’t expect every interaction to be tit for tat, bc then you can start holding some resentment or bitterness toward followers/friend/mutuals and you don’t want that to tarnish being apart of a community!!!!

it could also help to get a theme started, maybe set up some ground rules so people know if they can/want to interact, reblog some other works, etc. there’s quite a lot to getting a following since fandom is no longer in its height anymore, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still create and share with others!!!
